Caleb King's 75-yard touchdown run was a thing of beauty. (Brant Sanderlin / AJC)
So, how’s that ACC championship game looking now, huh?
Finally made it home from Historic Grant Field (MARTA may be smarta but it sure isn’t faster) with the chants of the UGA student section we sat near still ringing in my head.
Early on, Tech’s hip-hop heavy video board had video of some of the Jackets leading the gold-and-white crowd in the popular number “All the Way Turnt Up” but it wasn’t long before the Georgia students appropriated that as the theme song of the evening for the Dogs.
Man, it felt good to see Georgia rediscover the joys of running the ball straight at the opponent. Washaun Ealey, with his 183 yards, and Caleb King with 166 made it look easy at times, particularly on King’s 75-yard run. And Joe Cox discovered, as Buck Belue knew all those years ago, how good you can look at QB when all you have to do is hand off to your backs.
Actually, that’s selling Cox short. He made a couple of key throws tonight and did a great job of managing the game for the most part. It shouldn’t have been as close as it was, with the Dogs having to settle for field goal tries too often in the second half, but that’s a minor point in the afterglow of a terrific win by the unranked Bulldogs over the nation’s No. 7 team.
Those takeaways by the Georgia defense were pretty sweet, too.
And the middle of the Georgia defensive line finally lived up to its billing, making Tech’s Jonathan Dwyer not much of a factor in the game. You had to wonder why the Jackets kept trying to run up the middle, when obviously they had more success on the perimeter. And their decision to go to the air exclusively on that last series of downs? Curious, but it worked out well for the Dogs.
I’ll take a closer look at the game Sunday, but for now let me just say that I haven’t decided yet which game is coming off the list of my 10 favorite UGA wins over Tech … but I definitely know which game is being added to the list!
It’s a great night to be a Georgia Bulldog!
And as the student section chanted while the seconds ticked off the clock at the end, SEC! SEC! SEC!

The game ball should go to Coach Searles . Our O line tore Tech up all night long and made Cox’s job easier and kept our D off the field. We beat them at their own game. What might be the worst team in CMR’s era beat the best Tech team in 20 years. Feels real good Dawgs. Order is restored to GA. HBTD !!!!

JB,
We were just that good tonight! And actually we weren’t at our best. Too many dropped balls on our end too, and I think we got a little too conservative in the 4th. We should have threw more with them putting 9 or more guys in the box. But I understand a little why we didn’t.
The real question is, is the SEC that good, or the acc just that bad?

1. Good game Techies. I know your sour, but good game.
2. Rashad Jones has come a long way since last year.
3. Caleb King finally looked the part. He really has developed into a nice back for us now.
4. Ealy is great. Honestly this type of running game and offense in general is what most of us fans were expecting out of the Dawgs this year.
5. The look of Martinez’s face towards the end of the game said a lot. I’ll still respect him then most people on these blogs.
6. Russ get’s my vote.
7. I think were going to miss the 3 wides men in the middle next year (Owens, Atkins, Weston)
8. Speaking of, if a player on the team get’s my vote for most improved it has to go to Kade Weston (runner up Rashad Jones). He is an unspoken hero and he looks like a completely different player out there from what he used to. He dropped some weight and uped his game tremendously. I think some NFL team will get a player there.
9. I can honestly say this is the first game I thought Bobo called brilliantly.
10. It’s bittersweet to see this season come to an end. It’s been a rough road but there have been a lot of bright spots. Looking forward to what we have to work with next year.
Just askin…..does anyone know why Richt got so pissed off at the GT player going for our fumble that rolled out of bounds? I tried to replay it several times but I couldn’t figure it out.

Who among we Dawg fans didn’t think, here we go again when Tech scored on that long pass play to open the 2nd half? Who didn’t think this wasn’t the same GA team we watched all year after Big Dawg King ran those 75 yards to restore order? Man what could have been if UGA had manned up all year? Makes you appreciate Vince Dooley and 3 yards and a cloud of dust and all those boring wins we used to complain about. I think the defense played up to their ability for the first time since Coach Van Gorder left. Win or lose I’m a Dawg for life and proud of it, but this is the first time in a long time we’ve had a signature win and it feels GREAT!!! ARF

Nice win for the Dogs, Bill, but remember: they were playing an ACC team and the ACC is weaker than usual this year. Tech was overrated. The only teams to rush for more than 200 yards against Tech this year were SEC teams: Miss. State, UGA and, good grief, even Vanderbilt! That ought to tell you everything you need to know about the ACC.
And there were still signs of the decline in the UGA program: dropped balls (Wooten had a sure touchdown), overthrows (Tavares King was wide open in the end zone) and chronic poor tackling that made the game closer than it should have been (Dobbs missing Hill on that reverse was one example; Cuff’s performance would make an excellent highlight reel on how not to play corner).
All in all: an improvement, but unless UGA fancies joining the ACC, it’s got a lot of work to do before it can play with the big boys.
JB

Jake, it’s easy to pick out 3 or 4 plays that any team did poorly.
That said, it’s well know that UGA has not played up to its potential. A win is a win and we’ll take it.
That said, next year, if we have a QB, a good DE and a new DC, we’ll be more than fine.

JB, thanks.
jake, Exactly. We had a wide open receiver all night long and over threw one on a deep pass, and like you said the one in the end zone. Note what we did do, however, jake and that is that we all have said that Mike Bobo has no clue on offensive play calls. We have asked and asked and asked for years and years and years, that we run the damn football. We did that tonight exclusively, and we did exactly what we would have done last year against Tech, when we handed the football off only 13 times to Knowshon Moreno taken 8th in the 1st round of the NFL draft.
We had 3 more fumbles tonight.
We had bone-headed penalties that killed us and that gave Tech touchdowns on drives that otherwise fail. We got called for false starts for penalties again like we don’t know the snap count. But, the penalty for throwing the Tech player to the ground 6 yards out of bounds, was just beyond belief.
Coach Richt on the sidelines when we kicked off after having to settle for the 2nd field goal (We settled for 3 field goal tries when Tech obviously could win the game by scoring touchdowns while we instead could not put the game away ourselves with the much-needed touchdown instead.) So, Coach Richt watched in total disgust as we gave Tech the ball again at mid-field on the kick-off return to hear the announcers say that there is that kick-off coverage team of UGA yet again rearing its ugly head. And, we kicked the ball out of bounds to hand Tech the TD to pull within 6 points with so much time on the clock. Horrid Kick-Offs, again. You could see Coach Richt have a moment there on that kick-off that INDEED he has to clean house. Not the DC. Not the OC. Not the RB coach. Not the secondary coaches. Not the DE coach. Not the kick-off coverage coach. Not the Kick-off returns coach. Not the wide receiver coach. Not the OL coach. Not the recruiting coordinator coach. Did you see we had more Bulldog recruits ARRESTED/SUSPENDED the night before last and they aren’t even on campus yet. Athletics Director, B.S. We have to pay cash for an indoor practice facility. And, who the hell figures out who are our starters and who is redshirted and who plays while we DON’T PLAY OUR BEST PLAYERS BECAUSE WE DON’T RECOGNIZE TALENT WHEN WE SEE IT. But, clean house of the entire B.S. staff.
Fumble by Caleb King, again. If we had a running backs coach who had run the football 1 time, perhaps he could teach players how to hold a ball running it.
Our kick-off returns gave us field position half that of what we gave Tech when we kicked off.
We left the 1 lone Tech wide receiver to run wild on us, like our secondary couldn’t possibly be lined up correctly knowing that 1 receiver for Tech has 50 catches and the 2nd most receptions is 6 on the entire team. Give me a freaking break.
We dropped pass after pass. Did we coach AJ Green to be so great, or did we coach all the rest of the receivers to be so horrid ? Which is it ?
Did you see us sack the Tech QB when inexplicably Tech removed their 238 lb great blocker on Left Tackle with a blocker 4 plays in row ? No. We haven’t taught our DE to do a damn thing, but get penalties, bone-headed penalties.
The AJ-C surmises we did everything right tonight we did not do right every other game (except Auburn) on penalties and on turning the ball over. B.S. We had horrid penalties and the refs did not call us for a lot more penalties every other ref called on us all season long, dancing around out there and playing dirty football, celebrating Marcus Dowtin purposely twisting the Tech QB well after he was down on the ground and after the whistle. And, who the hell is the coach of Kade Weston of New Jersey our Senior Defensive Tackle, who leaves us all now to deal with the fact that everyone, the AJ-C and the ESPN reviews of the game show that we went into Bobby Dodd Stadium (named after a University of Tennessee at Knoxville COLLEGE DROP-OUT) and have to deal with the fact that a New Jersey Senior never to come back here, plants the damn G flag into their turf ? We are a wholly un-coached football team and have been for years and years with ARRESTS/SUSPENSIONS that exceed the number for every other college in America since 20 December 2000 when Coach Richt brought this rag-tag gang of college roommates and buddies of his NOT 1 OF WHICH HAS EVER COACHED 1 MINUTE IN THE NFL. We are a holly terror off the field and this incident is just more proof Coach Richt’s entire Coaching Staff has Zero Control of the team. CEO. B.S.The refs were loose tonight. On a big play by Tech, there were 2 downfield dirty hits blind-siding our backs trying to make the tackle from behind. We got hurt, obviously on that play too, and should have been 2 blocks in the back on the 1 play, but none called against Tech. Caleb King critical fumble and bone-headed. You could see he didn’t have control of the ball. And, that was great ? B.S.
We can’t play defense. Our scheme is so B.S. We have our secondary lay way off and turn sideways on obvious passing plays, then wonder why we can’t block the pass, get any coverage, nor make the tackle. “It’s the scheme,” the color commentator said. I loved his comments all night long. He ate up the B.S. coming out as excuses for years about our team and its obvious short-comings.
Obviously, the ACC is not up to snuff again this season. Nice job by the OL for 1 damned game, against a Tech team who played the Number 40 NCAA SoS this season and now faces a LOSING CLIMPSUM FARMERS’ team as a LOSER itself giving up huge chunks on the ground against every SEC team Tech played, which included the Number 9 team in The SEC, the Number 11 team in The SEC and the Number 12 team in The SEC. Nice play calls by Mike Bobo to actually stick with the running game instead of the 13 carries Knowshon Moreno got last season against Florida and Tech both 13 carries by Knowshon Moreno. But, if that is supposed to mean that we keep this B.S. Staff, Coach Richt you sir, can leave with the lot of them.
18-20 against Final AP Poll Top 25 teams. And, have lost to 6 teams who ended the season NOT in the Final AP Poll Top 25 in the Coach Richt Era.

This is proof that some people attach their self-worth to their favorite team’s wins or losses.

The shoe’s on the other foot now!
What a great rushing display by Georgia – where’s that been all year???
THREE consecutive pathetic moonballs from a terrible passer sealed the deal – yeah, great calls there. What is Nesbitt, a 46 percent passer? Maybe Bobo disguised himself as the Tech O-coordinator and made those calls, I don’t know…
Well, anyway…a win is a win and this one was much better than most! GT was getting too full of themselves, good to see them back in their places this morning…
But there’s got to be a little medicine with the sugar, so don’t lose sight of this…it’s one thing to stomp all over the pretend power of a hoops conference…it’s another thing entirely to do it to the cream of the SEC.

chazzo,
You left out that Bill King said and that the AJ-C then said too, that beating Georgia Tech would not cure our ailments. B. S. I feel great about beating Georgia Tech, the pretenders who beat no one all season long and who lost to 2 teams Miami of Florida and to UGA, neither of which otherwise beat 1 single team in the Final AP Poll Top 25. Now, Tech gets to play Clemson who hasn’t beat anyone in the BCS Top 40, and who Lost to South Carolina about the 7th best team in The SEC, or the 8th.
Now, let’s be realistic like Stinger said, and get rid of this damned coaching staff. And, do it before the recruiting class comes in here. This staff has no clue what we need.

Our receivers were open all night. They just dropped the ball.
Tech is horrid. They cannot play defense since they lost Tenuta, as I told them when they let Paul Johnson get rid of him when he had been so great with the nerds’ defense.
To the 3 of you making excuses that UGA is great now. Excuse me. Tech sucks. Georgia Tech’s Strength of Schedule ACCORDING TO THE NCAA, is Number 49 in the nation this morning. Tech is not that good. They played a soft schedule and no top-ranked team. There is NOT a top-ranked team in the ACC. There is not even a top 10 team in the ACC, yet again this year. And, Tech lost to Miami of Florida and to UGA.
I have zero respect for the Tech fans who said all these things before the game, to not come back in here and face their medicine.
As for the UGA fans who think that the entire Bulldog Nation, who all of us want complete change in Coach Richt’s Coaching Staff, are now wrong that we are 18-20 against Final AP Poll Top 25 teams in the 9 years with 6 more losses against teams who were not in the Final AP Poll Top 25, figure it out. Tech is over-rated beating no one and losing to 2 teams who neither otherwise beat a single Final AP Poll Top 25 team. We still have to change the staff. Sorry about that you 3 only UGA fans.

Wow where has that running game been all year!! We finally blocked!!! Well we were playing a team from the very soft ACC!!! Not a real big surprise we won this game. We have been pretty good against the run all year!!! The teams that can throw the ball is the ones that always give us a fit!!!The teams that beat us can throw the ball in the soft zone!! For you fans that don’t know football that is behind the linebackers and in front of the corners!!! Teams that did that on us beat us there all year like a drum!!! I hope the crying Willie did was because he will quit today!! Our Secondary sucked the last 2 years!! But the bottom line is this, it was a good win BUT we still have to get alot better to beat Tennessee and Florida and win a Championship!!! Had the guy not dropped the pass we would be sitting here on the losing end!! He was open!! Nothing unusual!!

Fair and Balanced,
You did NOT say any thing that I did not also exactly say, sir.
You are like Buck Belue. Buck says too, just like you, that we have to have changes on the coaching staff of 0 experience in the NFL for any of his entire staff of college roommates and buddies of Coach Richt, all out of position for what they are coaching.
Look.
1 turnover is on the player.
1 penalty is on the player.
1 Arrest/Suspension is on the player.
When the whole entire roster fumbles and throw interceptions without gaining them either, and when they all are penalized and do dumb stuff on the field and off, that is clearly on the coaching staff. Tom Brady is talking about The NFL, where the players clearly every one already know what they are supposed to be doing and whose coaching staffs are severely criticized for fiascos off the field like the Cincinnati coaching staff with all their Arrests/Suspensions in previous years.
outkasted, don’t give me this B.S. that you want to keep this coaching staff intact. Your excuses don’t hold water.

On Tech’s last TD drive, I knew they were going to score. That’s what good teams do, they respond. I was wanting UGA to make them work for it. Not just one 70 yd. play. UGA did just that. They made Tech run at 12 plays and about 6-7 minutes off the clock. When I saw how much time it took for Tech to score that last TD, I knew the game was over; at least until we missed the 54 yd. FG. That was the first time all game that I got nervous.

Listen up everyone. After last night’s beating, I’ve decided to rethink my fan loyalty. I’ve taken a closer look at GT and I realize that Paul Johnson is running the same offense as my old high school. I realize that the eventual ACC champ got destroyed by a down SEC foe and will probably get destroyed in the Orange Bowl. I realize that GT women shouldn’t even be counted as women (I know technically they have all of the right “parts”, but have you seen them?). For all these reasons and so many more, I’ve decided to switch my loyalty to THE University of Georgia, the flagship institution in our great state. Please forgive me for pulling for GT all of these years, I had obviously been drinking.

I believe that the majority of bloggers have “big-little-man” complex. They don’t appreciate good games. They just want their team to beat teams that threaten their ego so they can feel good until the next game. My team got beat yesterday by a team they should have beaten. I give that team credit and offer no excuses for my team’s loss. I am not ready to fire my coach and castrate the players. I’m just looking forward to the next game and hoping that my team plays a great game. Neither am I going to spend the majority of the next several months prowling the recruiting news. Did St Simon’s disguise himself as Bulldawg? Because that first post was almost painful to read. I mean come on! In bowl practice, there will be plenty of time for looking at the Tech game film and addressing the weaknesses of the game. In the off season there will be plenty of time for making any coaching adjustments deemed necessary. But can they get at least 24 hours to celebrate before you start tearing the game to shreds!
When its all said and done, we’re looking at going 8-5 after losing more than 70% of our offense, and a defense that is prone to looking completely inept quite often. This was supposed to be a terrible year. We expected this. We knew it was coming. No one is shocked or surprised that we lost five games. (Looking back the LSU and UK games should’ve ended way different, but that’s another story)
Considering what was supposed to happen this year, we are on track to be a much better team next year, with or without coaching changes.
Regardless, it’s great to be a Georgia Bulldawg! THWGT!!!

I’ve been a fan for 30 plus years of Georgia, and I am proud of the players who played the tails off. I’m glad the guy dropped the ball at the end of the game and we won, but, once again I’m suspect with a call from CMR. He almost blew it again, putting his players in a worse situation than they needed to be. Most times he plays the percentages. But going for the 50 plus yard field goal with that much time on the clock was stupid. It worked out this time, most of you all know what I’m talking about. I don’t mean to sound so negative after a great win but I’m just looking at the big picture for next year. Go Dawgs and let’s keep up the same intensity in whatever bowl game we go to! GO DAWGS!

I mean, if “Tech is overrated”, or “Tech sucks”, then we really accomplished nothing last night, right? Jeez, grow a brain, you guys. Ga Tech is a good team, deserving of their ranking going into the game last night that just overwhelmed by an in-state rival playing their best game since 2007, and still almost pulled the game out. If that receiver hadn’t dropped that 1st down catch, does anybody think we could have kept them out of the endzone?

I don’t think we need to change our coordinators – either one of ‘em – but I sure would like to see somebody that could get our secondary to learn how to cover without interfering and tackle in the open field. Come on guys, you ain’t gonna do any good trying to go high on somebody that’s bigger, stronger and faster than you…knock his pins out from under him. Just as the rest of the world found out about Herschel after his freshman year, it’s the best, and maybe only, way to get him, or them, down.
Admittedly, going in I had no confidence in the outcome. Hopeful, but not confident. I was confident that the kids would play their butts off and the coaches would coach the same way…and they did. For that I am as proud as can be. Don’t know what it says about this game, our team, or Tech, but we made some of the same mistakes we’ve been making all season that have cost us games – but not this time. Either we wouldn’t be beat or Tech wasn’t good enough to take advantage of us. Either way, I’m a happy man!

Anybody still arguing how good and how much potential #9 Jones has. He played a heck of a game. UGA’s defense as a whole was outstanding. In all three fazes. Weston and Owens, and Houston on the DL. Rennie and Dent at LB, and Jones in the secondary. Jones took over that last drive by Tech. Jones was agrressive at getting to the line to help in the run defense, while also being deep to play pass defense. Jones was actually covering WRs in man. Had 7 tkls, 1 int (almost 2). Only mad one bad play. While covering Thomas, he went for the int.; should have played the WR. But all well, one mistake amid all the great plays

We had the same mistakes as we had all blaf, blah, blah…. Every team has those same mistakes in evey game unless you are UF and the REFs refuse to call a penalty on you. Point being, the difference last night and the rest of the season is it was one PF not 4 or 5. It was one false start, not one every drive. Also only 2 dropped passes early in the game and not one after. Yes there were some missed tackles, but the same can be said for Tech. The worst one was Dobbs on the reverse. Yes Cuff whiffed on Thomas’s 75 TD run, but the kid is learning. Later in the game, Cuff did go low, but with Thomas being as big as he is, got the same result. Only this time we had the seafety over the top to limit the damage. UGA made some mistakes, but they also limited them. They did what they did to win the game. That’s all that really matters.

Great game! Still need a special teams solution. Play call was pathetic before Walsh’s miss. A couple of drops (should have won by an additional score, maybe two). Things still get a little up tight at crucial moments like down on the five or the previously mentioned call. There were a couple of missed tackles that hurt the effort.
Chappas deserves a medal. The O-line played tough. Washaun and Caleb, wow! Rashad Jones rocked it. Owens and Weston made mince meat out of the middle. Gotta like Houston. Of course Curran is always outstanding. Good game plan on O and D. Willie done good. Glad to see Richt upset about the Gatorade because it aint over until there are all zeroes. Best thing is they played like a team on both sides of the ball.
Keep it in perspective, dawgs, and take out whoever is in whatever bowl game.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, this team needed a”bad case of the wants.” It took a little while but they finally listened. The UGAs I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and VII enjoyed last night immensely. VII is finally settling in; VII says Russ, not bad for a half brother.

The ACC is a basketball conference, you’re a fifth-tier football program, WE STILL OWN YOU, and you can’t say a damn thing about it because you couldn’t protect your own tiny house last night. Good lck in the ACC Championship game, aka ‘The Game To Decide The Eventual Represntative Of The Sixth-Best BCS Conference, Not Including TCU And Boise State”. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSERS!

I want to give a shout out and some props to Quinton Banks for his great play in limited opputunities last night. Banks has battled knee injuries throughout his UGA career and was forced into action when Evans fell to injury ( I know there are people out there who were applauding that injury). Banks mad 2 tackles that I saw. The most important being an assist on the goal line preventing Nesbit from scoring on the 1 yd line. That was key because it forced Tech to burn another minute off the clock hurting their chances even more of a comeback. Congrats Banks, you are a Damn good DAWG.

I am with you. This win is one to be savored and rubbed in the faces of our nerd co-workers. But I am terrified that because of this win, even if Richt gets rid of Willie, he still won’t do enough. All the blind homers think the we are angry about the win. We’re not. But we’re nervous that Richt will not do everything that needs be done, as he has shown that propensity in the past.

Bulldawg you need to look on the brighter side of the game last, instead of picking out every little thing we did wrong. Did we play a perfect game last night, the answer is no we didn’t. the false starts hurt, we dropped some passes, there was poor tackling (again), and we couldnt capitalize on scoring touchdowns late in the game when we got into the redzone. However, last night we got back to good ole Georgia football. We nutted up and kicked the nerds right in the teeth all night long and physically dominated the line on both sides of the ball, and gave the techies a taste of their own medicine. Bobo called the best game of his career and martinez did a solid job of stopping tech’s high school offense. overall it was a great game last night and i loved every minute of it. It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog! THWGT

I only saw one bad play call all night. Remember, we did not punt once and only had one TO. The bad call was on the missed FG drive. On third down, Bobo should have ran the ball. He should have Power I and physically over whelm a tired Tech defensive front. At least keep it at a no gain and in the middle of the field giving Walsh a 50 yd att instead of a 54-55 att. Other than that, I enjoyed the game calling. If you want to get technical, on the drives resulting in FGs, UGA should have stuck with the power game rather than trying to out run Tech to the outside. All in all the best called game for Bobo this season.

JB, I agree. We made some mistakes last night, but what was different is that they were not made over and over again. Every team makes the same mistakes in a game, they just don’t make them as much as we have been making. There wer 5 penalties all night. KO out of bounds, 2 false starts, one off sides, I forget the last one. We had only one, yes ONE TO. Actually a good play made by Tech’s best defensive player. Yes there were msome missed tackles, the worst being Dobbs, but hese things were not over and over again like we have become used to this year.
Tech was OVERRATED!!!
November 29th, 2009

Talk about overrated! Georgia Tech was WAY OVERRATED! Their 10-2 record would probably be 4-8 or 5-7 if they played the Dawgs schedule. So take this yellow jackettes, WE DO NOT RESPECT YOU OR THE ACC! Woof! Woof! Dawgs are college football champs of the state of Georgia!

The Georgia Bulldogs whipped TECH because the Dawgs are a physically superior team. The Dawgs punished Tech at the line of scrimmage and ripped huge holes in Tech’s defensive line. And even incompetent Willie Martinez’ defense was better than Tech and slowed down the Jackettes overrated offense enough to whip them! Tech sure is not a Top 10 team, not even good enough to finish in the top 6 in the SEC.

Feeling a little better about this season! Beating GA TECH was very nice, but some issues. The guy on Georgia’s team with the worst ball security is Branden Smith! Stop handing the ball off to this guy. I do like they experimented with the pistol formation, but don’t do it with him. Also can our conerbacks not tackle anybody? We seem to be intimadated by size! Just grab on to the guy, until you get help. I am glad we finally settled on a O-line and stuck with it. Let’s keep this line for next year, even Trinton and Tanner come back!

What Bobo and the offense have to learn for next year is that you don’t have to force the ball to AJ. He will get his, just don’t abandon the run just to get AJ the ball. UGA and everyone else knows how special a player AJ is. Guess what, He will still be doubled team next year. That just keeps teams from loading up the box to stop the run.

This is to Mr. King and all the people who were chanting SEC. Thanks for making my day idiots. The Gators and the Tide really appreciate the free press that you dummies are giving them because guess what jerks, Florida and Alabama are the SEC and the only teams who are representing the SEC. When the nation looks at the SEC championship, they will see Florida and Alabama again. That’s going to be who represents the SEC, and not the Georgia Bullcrap. The closest that you idiots will get to the Georgia Dome is when you go to the city of Atlanta to play Tech. You might want to make time to ride by the Dome while you are there or get on the waiting list to get tickets to see some real teams next year. Thanks for letting everyone know that the real players are coming to Atlanta to play in the SEC championship. Since UGA sucks again this year, you fools stoop as low as to hype up the SEC because you can’t legitimately chant for your own damn team. Again the Gators and Tide truly appreciate the free advertisement and credit that you are giving them. If you can’t beat Florida and Alabama, I guess you might as well join them. Roll Tide and Go Gators. And most of all to all of you Georgia Bullcrap faithful, keep up the good work and keep supporting Florida and Alabama. If you do that, I guess you’ll be a winner afterall.

Every single bulldog fan that is flapping his jaws here didn’t give their team a chance to win this game. Hats off to the bulldog players who watched the fans stream out of their stadium by the thousands when they still had a chance to beat Kentucky. They came and played tough , made a few more plays than the Jackets and won a tough game. I tip my cap to the players and all you bandwagon supposed Bulldog fans just keep on flapping your jaws. It is what you are best at!

Herschel Talker,
I can handle the GT bloggers more than your idiotic posts. It’s an embarassment to have you as a fellow DAWG fan. Criticize and insult the players and coaches when they lose and then jump on the bandwagon savor the victory and still criticize the coaches when they win a big game. I’ve asked this question before and i know the answere….Did you every play football before or are you one of those wimpy ass people that sit and watch a game and think it’s so easy and everything is so simple because you’ve never done it before…I question your manhood….

Jake has summed the situation up perfectly. I said basically the same thing after last year’s bowl win over a very weak Michigan State team. Changes are needed if we want to compete with the teams in our own conference. Like it or not, we are not members of either the ACC or the Big 11. Obviously mediocre teams can win 10 games playing in the ACC and play for the Conference Championship and a birth in BCS bowl. Mediocre teams in the SEC East win 7 or 8 games, get humiliated 2 to 4 times a season (have we already forgotten the UT and UF games?) and end up playing in a December Bowl game.
As I said last year: CWM and Fabris must be replaced or we will suffer through another terrible season next year. They weren’t and we did. They must or we will again.

LOL, dog fans are getting so hyped about this win. Just proves that this was your biggest game of the season (since FL and LSU and bama dominate you now).
You idiots have to realize that THIS was your Super Bowl game, not OURS. Same goes for USC. Clemson and Tech ran into talented but inferior teams that had nothing else to play for. It happens.

I thought you leg humpers measured yourselves by how you perform vs. FL or LSU or Bama? Now it’s Tech, cause your team has dropped into the abyss of irrelevant, and Tech is #12 and BCS bowl bound.
Don’t believe me? Your UGA win didn’t even make the top headlines at espn.com.

Dogs always talking about how tough the SEC is. Got news for ya: you can forget a BCS bowl if UGA stays in the SEC. Saban, Meyer, LSU, have left UGA in the dust.
Side note: so funny hearing such happy leg humpers with a 7-5 season.

Is there any doubt that Tech loses out to end the season? Clemson will beat them into the ground which means they go to Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl and lose to Pittsburgh or Cincy.
Then Paul Johnson leaves for Notre Dame and the process begins again.

Have you ever sean a defence as bad as GTs? And you dogs fans running around beating your chest saying you are the best.we all know GT was not a #7 team with a defence like that.and with 1.22 seconds left and the GT receiver on the 15 and droping the pass for a 1st down.had he caught the ball as bad as GT played they should and could have won the game.as bad as thier defence is and thier over all play.that should give you some observation of how good or bad the dogs are.

Lets face it, we are no better than a high school team. Alas UGA is the greatest team in the state once again, and your comments to shield your pain are so obvious. Its Ok, just cry, we are of course tech fans so we are used to it. Clemson will no doubt beat us next week and then we will get killed in our bowl game, because we are just a fancy high school team. It’s GREAT to be a Georgia Bulldawg!!
It was like watching the Dawgs of old!! We have a great group of up-and-coming young players in Ealey, Caleb King, and others. Chapas is developing into a good fullback; he made some great blocks last night. If we can fix the problems (and they are fixable), who knows, we could be on the radar screen this time next year. Hopefully Bobo and Richt now realize how important the running game is to the passing game. Right now Georgia has a good shot at either the Music City or Liberty Bowls. I’m kinda partial to the Music City Bowl. Having been there myself a few times, Nashville is a great city for the fans to visit (although Memphis isn’t too bad either).

You and some other bloggers have convinced me that the biggest thing we need to do in the off season is to purge you losers and drive you back to where ever you come from. I am going to send my letters to CMR, DE and President Adams and beg them to make no changes in the coaching staff this off season just to make you all sell you season tickets, burn your UGA gear and go absolutly insane (I think some of you are already there).

Great game, Dawgs. Let’s be happy this win, and look forward to next season. It’s obvious that alot of you guys let St. Simons get way too far under your skin with his incessant “45-42″ posts over the last year. We’re better than that, and we should act like we’ve been there before; that’s the same reason coach Richt was mad at Bryan Evans for throwing the gatorade on him. Let GA Tech fans go back to their old reasons for not caring about that game. Good luck against Clemson, GT…try to represent the state well for us. Here’s a tip-keep the ball away from CJ Spiller.

Funny, now UGA knows how it feels to think that their win was soooo important over their ‘rival’… This is usually the position for Tech when we pull off the upset of Mighty UGAy from the SEC (on ESPN). It is a big game, but isn’t all that to Tech fans this year. Sorry to disappoint you mutts. We still have quite a bit to play for, but this was it for UGAy fans/players. Take your little victory and keep spitting nails while we keep playing real football for 2 more games. You also might want to look up what Tech’s #1 goal is/was this year – and let me give you a hint – it’s not beating UGA.

Proud to be a Dawg every day of the year, but today was a highlight of the season. There is a lot to look forward to next year, and we will look to build upon this win. It was a good one, and the way we played classic UGA football made it even better.
As for Saint Simons, it is remarkable how much that guy got under every one’s skin, but I am glad to say that he should be quiet for a while (at least). Hey, Saint Simons, what’s the good word? SILENCE!

Oh, and “ha!,” one of Tech’s goals this year was to go undefeated at home, so that would mean the Dawgs crushed that goal. However, we are not having the greatest of years – that is, we are not in the hunt for the SEC and National Championship – so I won’t talk much smack. Still, good to win our last game, and it made Thanksgiving that much better.

BuLLdawg,
Who did either Florida or Alabama beat so far this year? After all every team they have played is worse than them. Therefore, they have played NO ONE and do not deserve ANY recognition or ranking for having beaten NO ONE.
This is the exact same type of logic you use in EVERY ONE of YOUR MORONIC posts. YOU are not only a MISERABLE human being and a LOUSY example of a DAWG fan but YOU have NO BRAIN.
NO ONE cares about your AGENDA to fire all of our coaches and start over from scratch. I can only hope that YOU are in no position to directly have ANY influence on other HUMAN BEINGS who would might be harmed by your presence. Unfortunately, ALL who read your posts have to suffer. YOU and H. Talker need to go very far AWAY and NEVER come back.

Congrats UGA on a good game Saturday. You ran it down our throats, and we couldn’t stop it. Your rushing game showed up that last game of the year. Where was that at all year? Keep Joe Cox handing the ball off, and he looks like a great QB. Still don’t know what happened in the Kentucky game. You showed up to play and were on a mission. Good job.
Now, although a win over UGA would have been nice, in seasons past, it would have made our year, like last year. This year, not so much. It still does not diminish the fact that Tech finished the season 10-2 and will be playing for the ACC championship and a berth to the Orange Bowl. Not a bad year. If UGA was playing in the Dome this weekend, then I am sure UGA fans would have enjoyed the win a lot more. The fact still remains, UGA is a middle of the pack team in a good conference that finally played up to their potential Saturday night. But in the end, Florida and Alabama remain the cream of the crop, and UGA has a long way to go to catch them. Congratulations on your win, enjoy Shreveport.
