The win over Auburn pretty well assures that the Dogs won’t be bowling in Shreveport (whew!), but where they’ll wind up remains tantalizingly open.
Traditionally, the Outback on New Year’s Day in Tampa matches the No. 2 team in the East against a Big 10 foe. If Georgia wins out, the Outback would be hard pressed to pass them up, and the Dogs could wind up there even with a loss to Tech, though that might depend on how Tennessee finishes up. The Outback could pass up the Dogs and go with the Vols.
The Chick-fil-A in Atlanta is also looking like a strong possibility for UGA, with some predictions seeing Georgia pitted against oldtime rival Clemson in the Georgia Dome. That would certainly be a quick sell-out, which might make up for the fact that Bulldogs fans wouldn’t fill as many hotel rooms in Atlanta.
And the Liberty in Memphis is in the mix, too, though that might be more likely to go to an SEC West team. Or Tennessee. The Cotton Bowl is pretty much a lock for an SEC West team.
Someone asked me a little while ago which bowl I’d rather see the Dogs in and I answered, “The Outback, because that would mean they won out.”
But the Bowl Formerly Known as the Peach wouldn’t be a bad way to wind up a season of mixed results.
Which bowl would you really like to see the Dogs in? Which one do you think they’ll wind up in? Share your views in the comments, vote in the poll, or do both.
I’ll be off tomorrow as usual, but the finalists in our ultimate fan contest will be posted for you to vote on.

UGA vs Clemson or VA Tech either match-up in the PEACH aka… Chick Fil-A Bowl sounds good to me.

Outback bowl definetly cause that would mean that they won out and were 8 – 4. Got a chance to do just that but it will be a tough job to do. To me they seem to be getting better on defense and the offensive line which in turn makes the running game better. Mr. Samuels needs to move to defense in the spring cause Ealey & King are better. Time for some receivers to step up and replace AJ. It makes it harder for the oppositions defense to prepare cause now Mr. Cox has to spread it around. No one player that can be keyed on.

Actually they don’t even deserve the toilet bowl, they deserved to be flushed down the toilet. The funny thing is that they wasted this whole year for Joe Cox to have a chance, when they should have gone ahead and started Aaron Murray. You could have at least called this year a rebuilding year. But I guess yuo couldn’t do that because Noshow and Staffard left you high and dry last year. So it looks like dawgs will be in the toilet bowl again next year.

I’d love to play Clemson.
For a couple of reasons.
One, it’s rival we should be playing every year.
Two, a win over the ACC’s second best team by a mediocre SEC team would make the SEC look that much better.
Three, if we do lose, it’ll be bad. Bad enough that there is NO way Evans would let Richt keep Martinez.

The Peach Bowl (I refuse to sell out and call it anything else). It might happen, if LSU is unwilling to come back, and the Cotton loves LSU. The SEC has a lot of teams with similar records in the middle, so maybe the bowl wants to get a traveling team. At the very least, UGA needs to beat Kentucky.

When we beat the “dirt daubers” can you imagine the crap all these trade school nerds will be forced to eat? I’m certain they will all be ready to return to their favorite bowl spot in Boise or San Fran.
I bet they will be lucky to have 50,000 at the ACC Championship game, what a yawner that will be. I predict now that Clemson will win, (they should have won earlier when the first game was played in Atl.).
The trade school game could set a record for most points scored since both UGA and The Trade School have an average defense at best. The team that plays the best defense will win. I hope Willie studies the Miami and LSU film otherwise he can spend his time drafting his resume.
