Caleb King and his teammates celebrate his game-winning touchdown against Auburn. (Brant Sanderlin / AJC)

Still smarting from the Soulja Boy-dancing-Dawgs Blackout two years ago, the Auburn Tigers took the opportunity to do their own dance in Sanford Stadium Saturday night as they lined up for the second half kickoff with a 14-7 lead over Georgia.

Unfortunately for the faithful in orange and blue, they learned the lesson that what really matters is who dances last, as the Bulldogs shook off an abysmal start to come from behind and notch their fourth consecutive win over Auburn, 31-24.

Not many of the capacity crowd at Sanford would have seen such an outcome after watching what had to be the ugliest first quarter of football the Dogs have played in a long time.

The Georgia defense came out of the gate looking like it never had watched any film on Auburn, as the Tigers methodically marched down the field twice for easy scores to go up 14-0 with 3:15 still left in the first period.

Likewise offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, who at the outset ignored the advance evidence that the way to beat Auburn was to run the ball, opening instead with unsuccessful screen passes that prompted the evening’s first of several choruses of boos from so-called Georgia fans.

Finally, though, Georgia’s rushing attack got on track, with 169 yards on the ground mainly through the efforts of Washaun Ealey and Caleb King, whose 24-yard scamper for the winning score was a big-time run.

And wonder of wonders, Georgia even won the turnover battle!

That, and a key pass breakup in the fourth quarter by Bacarri Rambo that left him with a concussion, were what sealed the deal for the Bulldogs.

Again, this group of Bulldogs made it hard on themselves but showed a resiliency that paid off in the end.

Hopefully that’s what all those high school prospects will take away from the game, rather than the sorry showing by the boo-birds.

@SSTeacher – it bothers you that a college kid who has felt like the weight of the program is on his shoulders finally gets a chance to smile?!? This is the biggest win of his all too short college starting career…COLLEGE career.

These aren’t pros getting paid millions per game. I guess you probably thought the refs got it right when they flagged AJ Green for showing any emotion, right? He probably should have had his thoughts on the job he is paid to do…wait…he’s not paid either.

Congratulations to Georgia for once again competing in a football game. We must admit however, that Auburn is a soft team that really isn’t very good. A win is a win at this point for Georgia. Kentucky must be licking their chops over next weeks game because it gives them an opportunity to win. Tech will put a beat down on the Dawgs because the Georgia defense will have no answer to stopping Paul Johnson. Why is this? Because Georgia’s defense doesn’t have the heart or the willpower to play hard every down. They’ll get jacked up and play a few plays then they’ll be grasping at air. Once again, GREAT win Georgia. You certainly needed it.

GLARING statistic, Mark Richt is 17-0 when we commit zero turnovers in a game. I wonder if anyone has the stats on penalties, like an over/under amount and win to loss record?

Great game….even bigger impact will be on recruiting. Man I hope we get that Jeff Luc kid out of Florida (who attended the game).

Even though I feel good about the win on so many levels, I still keep having that feeling of insecurity about our secondary and it’s consistency. Hopefully something clicks from here on out and as mark richt said “possible coming of age” for this team.

As I was sitting there yelling at the TV with Auburn going down to score the tying touchdown at the end of the game, after I had screamed at the TV all night and all season for that matter, Rambo got hurt and laid on the ground for ten minutes. And I finally remembered that these are kids out there playing a game. A dangerous game. And I felt bad. I felt immature for saying negative things about kids playing a game.

Go dawgs.

A lot of folks are noting a turn around, but no one is stating the significance of this win (a few are downplaying it and our opponent, that’s for sure). This is the first time in almost 2 seasons we’ve had less than 3 penalties (I think that was the final total) and no turnovers. The DAWGS were back to fundamental football. Good game for CMR and the outstanding young athletes, but I have to side with many who want to see WM gone…too many 40+ point games given up.

One last point. There are many who want to slam Joe Cox, but that young man has not had any support outside of AJ Green. He will never be a Stafford talent wise, but there’s obviously something great about this kid when the rest of the Dawgs (the real ones…the ones playing the game) want him as their on-field leader. All nay-sayers need to go back to eating their Cheetos and shutting the hell up.

You can count me in as one of those “so-called Georgia fans” who was booing during the 1st quarter and rightly so. Any true fan would have been booing as well. Bill King obviously doesn’t understand that sometimes it takes a bit of booing to motivate the team and get them into reality. I booed when it was necessary as all TRUE Georgia fans did and we cheered when it was called for. I just don’t like the tone of this Blawg as if booing made you less of a fan.

Great win, Dawgs! I was worried about the lousy start and yelling at CMR and company. And I knew there was waaaayyyyy too much celebrating going on when we finally pulled ahead. Sure enough, Auburn capitalized on the lack of concentration and rammed the puck right back down our throats with that great kickoff return. But then the defense settled down and, for a change, played some great football, and the offense kept finding the end zone. At times, it reminded me of Dawgs of old, but let’s not go overboard. I’m still no Willie fan, despite the love-fest he was getting from those ESPN2 bozos (who sucked big time BTW – running their mouths all the time about everything except what was happening on the field). The special teams still need work, and could we PLEASE just kick the frickin’ football into the endzone?!!! But all in all, I’ll take a win any day over some of the hapless stuff we’ve had to endure this year. Dawgs better stay focused, because Kain-tuck ain’t gonna be a pushover. And GT looms on the horizon. God Bless Rambo and Green, and thanks, Dawgs…we really needed this one! We’re very proud of you. GO DAWGS!

Anyone making some case for booing in the game doesn’t get it….Fans booing may motivate some players (which I doubt)…but it also may discourage other players (especially younger players).

So just shutup. You may feel entitled to boo or be critical because your a passionate fan but don’t do that crap at a game…and especially at a game with so many recruits. It’s classless. So as a fan at the game…either cheer to support your team, shut the hell up or don’t go to the game.

I don’t typically boo, and I didn’t tonight…but I know people were booing the play calling. When I have the guy beside me who says before the play and it’s third and 15 “Watch, draw play to Caleb King,” and that’s exactly what happens…something’s wrong with the play calling! If we know what’s going to happen, surely the other coaches do, too. Now, when we mix it up, or do something that has been working…keep doing that and in the second half, that’s precisely what happened. Thanks Bobo for realizing the running game was killing it! It was a fantastic game, and if he could be more consistent at calling good plays (no more swing passes! no more toss sweeps!) then our offense would probably be able to perform a heckuva whole lot better.

Bill, thanks again for telling it like it is. Way over here, at the end of the earth, I could not even listen to the game (not even on the Auburn network)! These quotes from Mark Bradley’s column helped to soothe my anxiety:
“There was time enough for Auburn to answer, but something about Martinez’s men was different this time. They were hitting harder, closing faster…. Georgia would not wind up 5-7. Georgia would not cede recruiting ground to Gene Chizik. Given every chance, Georgia would not back down. Georgia reached into its storied past and finally offered up an effort worthy of the nickname ‘Bulldogs.’ ”
AMEN!
Still, I believe many of my fellow bloggers are also correct. I would still like to see Richt replace Martinez with Van Gorder. My comments, which I sent to Jeff Shultz last week, still apply:
“I know it doesn’t often make much sense to compare games that common opponents have against each other, but in regard to last season, please tell me why we couldn’t handle Tech’s option? We handled LSU pretty well, and LSU throttled Tech. Why did we permit them to come back from 16 down to kick our tails at home?”
I’d still like to have an answer to that question, Bill. Donnan couldn’t keep Tech down. Now Johnson intends to become Richt’s “Daddy.” Will our resurgent Bulldogs put him and the insects in their place?

To “SickandTired”: You certainly do write as if you are! Although Tech fans have never had a pen that was mightier than a pocket knife, you could trust some computer program to align your metaphors correctly. Not even a swatted bee “grasps at” air. You fair-weather Tech fans, however, will surely be “gasping for” air when our Bulldogs chew you up and spit you out! In doing so, the Red and Black will put more heart and willpower on display than your program has had since Bobby Dodd. Next time, get Bill Curry to proofread your “contribution” before your turn it loose. With lots of effort, he learned to string sentences together. He’s at your night school now. Give him a call.

I think everyone should lay off Kiffin. Just because it was his first year recruiting class, does not mean the actions of his teammates have self-control. That is a decision that was made by the players and had nothing to do with Lane Kiffin. I think that he will end up doing great things for Tennessee and that he will respond to this situation in the way it needs to be depending upon the investigations.

So far the only thing that has been publicly spoken of are only accusations in regards to the arrests. You can coach your players on the field and you can teach them wrong from right but it is initially up to the players to apply it to their life. So LAY OFF KIFFIN.

This could have easilty happened to any other coach at any other university. I am not giving a sympathy vote. What they chose to do was irresponsible and disappointing to the VOL nation, but I stand behind my team

and know that the staff at UT will handle the situation accurately. Again, just GIVE KIFFIN A BREAK.Vols will show class and win going away today in Oxford….

No one was booing the players.

If you are that much of an idiot that you think we booed the players, shut up. You’re making a fool of yourself in public about which you know nothing.

We have a coaching problem.

A documented coaching problem of a group of coaches on Coach Richt’s staff whom he himself has been criticizing too.

We have no NFL experience on his coaching staff.

When you have 3rd down and long, you pass the damn football.

Call a running play and get booed because this is what he HAS done nearly 80 percent of the time on 3rd and long.

I’m tired of it.

After the booing, you will note there were more attempts to actually make 1st downs.

And, we actually did make first downs.

The rest of the game it was UGA delivering blows, courtesy of Mr. Ealey and Mr. King. Oh, and there was the 3 sacks, numerous QB pressures, two INTs. Dawgs defense held them to one FG in the last 3 quarters. Yes, Auburn is no Florida or Alabama, but give credit where credit is due. With that said, that is why you play 4 quarters and finish the drill. What a game and what a performance for the Willie and the Defense.

IntelJumper you hit the nail on the head about Joe Cox. He sat on the bench for 3 years getting rusty playing behind Matthew Stafford or not playing because the coaches failed to get him games more often. Could anybody have really expected him to play like a polished QB this year. Sadly, our society seems to be cultivating morons that have no class or respect. They develop a sense of computer courage to talk trash. Yes, it is very sad. If you need to boo our UGA kids, stay home. They played hard and with pride. I’m proud of this team. Say what you want but Coach Martinez had them ready to play a great offense. Good game but remember that we were on the edge of our seats until the very end of it. It’s not like we rolled all over Auburn. Typical Martinez defense spots the other team 14 points and we have to play catch up the rest of the night. Then, our continued poor kickoff coverage bites us again. Offense was pitiful to start. Some good things after that first quarter: lots of hard play, passion evident on the field, no turnovers, penalty bug gone after first quarter, better play calling (after first quarter again). Hope the kids found their mojo again and can carry it forward into the next few games.
I think the injury to AJ kind of sparked the team. It seemed a lot of guys stepped up their play after that injury.

Bill, I hate to admit that I booed at the beginning of this game, but I did. It was a terrible performance by the two coordinators, and THAT was what I was booing. It wasn’t the players’ fault, those were two schemes that failed miserably. And as much as I hate to say it, the booing was needed. The insulating bubble around Bobo and Martinez needed to be cracked ever so slightly.

After that first quarter, I have zero complaints about the team’s and coaches’ performances (with the exception of the kick coverage). Bobo and Willie did a great job adjusting after the opening disaster, and the team played with more intensity, discipline, and precision than I’ve seen since 2007. Great performance, it puts a sweet taste in your mouth after such a bitter season. And here’s to Rambo and A.J., hope they get better soon. GO DAWGS! TO HELL WITH GEORGIA TECH!

Auburn was averaging 35 points a game before this one, and the Dawgs held them to 24, and that was with a lucky KO return for a TD. After spotting them 14, the defense held their offense to 3 points. I sense there are a lot of ‘Fire Martinez’ folks who are more upset with that than the win overall. And that my friends, is what’s wrong with bit time sports. It’s more important to some to be right, than for the home team to do well. CMR teams finish each season strong (albeit the GT game last year, after leading by 20+ points). But, I’ll take that this year. Finish the drill – win the last 3 and a bowl, and we’re all proud of a 9-4 season… the best almost anyone expected with this young, dynamic team. The problem with booing is that the players don’t know that you aren’t booing them. They just hear it and interpret it however they are inclined. I think for that reason alone that booing at a college sporting event is uncalled for and classless. Don’t get me wrong I felt like booing in the first half, but I didn’t for the reason stated above. That and the fact that we had a huge number of recruits in town for the game who, I pray, did not come away form Athens with a bad impression of the our school because of those who did boo. Think about it!

Some of you fans are so faint hearted. Yeah its a terrible thing injuries happen but thats life. Its football and if you want to win championships you overcome things just like it happens in life outside of football. Im tired of excuses too and its time for the dawgs to man up and play hard nosed football. These young men need to battle on every play and not stand around and get punched in the mouth like they did in the first Qtr. For you that are passionate dawgs like myself, its ok to yell at your TV because of inept play. If the dawgs were playing a a good team that 14-0 lead would have grown even larger. Wille is a complete idiot and CMR will be even a bigger one if he retains Martinez after this season. If some of you fans who want to labels us as fair weather , band wagon jumpers or to tell us go pull for another team then I say you go get involved in little league with real kids. You fans need not to apologise for Booing the coaches either. the teams preparedness is strictly on the coaching and its not the players fault. That is why the coaches are paid the big bucks. So to you faint hearted and blind homer fans, there is no apology is coming from this long time UGA fan for booing the coaching staff.

Man up DAWG – I wouldn’t ask you for an apology. I’d just ask you to STFU. You can do all of your complaining after the season is over, if and only if CMR retains WM. Otherwise, keep your comments and boos about the coaches out of the players ears and eyes. Go write your “feelings” in your diary. I don’t care. But, talking about what needs to be done before the season is officially over is wasted on deaf ears. Let them play and enjoy their win! And maybe, just maybe, you’ll have a little praise at the end of the day (season). I’m just sayin’… gotta go now…

I think the coaches and players need to be booed when they suck. I also think this is the same old crap from one of Richt’s teams – rollercoaster play that gets fans’ hopes up only to be let down the next week. Richt should be a much better CEO to be pulling in $3 million a year. He’s willing to get blown out on national t.v. once or twice a year and rarely beat the Gators as long as he can keep his coaching “family”.

Unfortunately it is doubtful that either A.J. or Rambo will be back. Both look to be injuries you want to be careful with for the long term health of these kids. Whatever other part of their bodies ache today…they both have great hearts. Rambo should get the game ball…he doesn’t break up that pass and its overtime and anybody’s game.

The fans ahve a right, no, an obligation to boo THE COACHES, not the players. The piss-poor play calling is what we’re sick and tired of. For example, its 3rd and 6, what does Bozo call? Not a play that would get 6 or 7 yards, no, a home run ball to be promptly followed by a punt. THE COACHES ON THIS TEAM SUCK!!!!!!!

I have to give props to Richt, the coaches or the players — whoever it was that turned on the light after the first period. Almost all of AU’s yards, and ALL OF the Dawgs Penalties were in the first period.

After that embarrassing display of non-football playing and a totally stupid thug penalty (Yes Montez you know who I am talking about), the Dawgs played good old-fashioned DAWG football.

I-formation, shove the ball down the other teams throat style play. Plus Cox was just hot enough to keep the defense honest and not cheating up on the run.

It may sound wierd, but I think the best thing that happened to UGA in this game was AJ Green getting hurt. It FORCED Joe Cox to actually look for other recievers and spread the ball around. A lo and behold it spread the AU defense out and opened up the running game.

Plus, Georgia has found thier go to back. Washaun Ealey punished the AU Line anf LB’s and in the end it opened it up for Caleb King to show his speed and scampering ability. Ealey and King can be a devestating 1-2 punch if Bobo uses them like he did this week. Soften with Ealey, and the let Caleb scoot.

Finally, I was still not happy with what I thought was too much zone and soft Willie Martinez bend don’t break crap — but Kudo’s to the kids, who finally looked like they had some fire in thier belly. I think the BOOs and just plain embarrassment finally made them realize they were GEORGIA BULLDOGS and that means getting mean and getting after your opponent. Hit em hard, hit em often and never let them get back up!!!

God Bless Bacarri Rambo, he is a gamer and has been my fav UGA defender all season. HE gave his all last night, and I pray for a quick recovery. Almost every big play outside of the D line and Rennie, involved #18 laying the wood to someone. WAY TO GO! get well soon.

Now let’s take care of business against Kentucky, and then Make an Excellent GT work thier a$$es off.

To all of the “Boo-Birds”….yes, I was upset the entire 1st quarter as well. However, the bad thing about booing is that it can cost us recruits. I was at the AU-UGA game in Athens during the 1999 season where we were losing 31-0 AT THE HALF and when the players were going in for halftime, the majority of the fans were booing. I understand that you are booing the playcalling and Bobo and Martinez, but the recruits are probably thinking “do we want to play here and get booed?” I tend to yell at the coaches instead of booing the coaches. I know that they can’t hear me (although it DOES make ME feel better), but I think that, no matter WHO you are actually booing, it’s better for the overall picture that the visiting recruits are getting when they are visiting our awesome campus, NOT to boo. Something to consider.

Interesting concept for a “true” fan: One who boos them to get them “motivated.”

My concept of a true fan: Those folks who stood and cheered the Dogs when they came out to receive the kickoffs after those early Auburn scores, and those folks who screamed themselves hoarse supporting the Dogs in the fourth quarter.

While I am a proud graduate of Auburn, I live in northeast Georgia and attend most of the Georgia games. I thought it was a GREAT game between two mediocre teams. I read “dogonit’s” post from much earlier in this blog and I couldn’t agree more. They are just kids down there playing their hearts out.

What disturbs me beyond comprehension is that while Rambo was laying down on that field and both the Auburn and Georgia faithful were praying with their hearts in their throats, a small, but vocal (and sounded primarily female) group out of the end zone started chanting “F*** you, Auburn!” in between the collective, supporting chant of “Rambo, Rambo,…”. That one incident is what has caused me to lose sleep over what our society has come to today. I know stuff happens at every school and there are tasteless, ill-mannered folks everywhere. But for God’s sake, that young man was down on the field and it was QUITE obvious he was seriously injured! Yet, that small contingent didn’t realize how sound carried straight down the field. We were in the upper deck and could hear it clearly. Other than that one particular experience, I, as an Auburn fan, was treated with respect and friendship by the rest of the Bulldog nation. Unfortunately, the ones who were doing the chanting are probably still in some bed trying to fight off a hangover and will never read this. Just had to get it off my chest.

I don’t particularly like much of anything about this team right now.

Beating Auburn is good.

But noting really impresses me about the team except the kickers.

Both the offense and defensive coaches are simply awful. Special teams…

This is a win/lose situation. They won the game, and possibly gave Richt some sense that Willie has pulled it together, and he probably will not be let go at the end of the year b/c one or two decent defensive games, blinded by the crappy 8 games called by him.

If the dogs want to get over the championship hump, they need a new DC. so the longer Willie stays, the longer the dogs stay stuck in mediocrity

As a Georgia fan that grew up the next county over from Hershel at the same time and same age,I knew of a time when Georgia beat FLORIDA every year almost and it was a given that the water fountain in Jacksonville ran red for a year most all the time ..Florida was a JOKE..we need to do one thing and thats to get all of our talent that leaves Georgia to go to the likes of Auburn SC LSU FLORIDA and the rest of the SEC to combine the best right here again and you would see a different story between the Florida Georgia game. The true Floridians all live around Gainesville with about three teeth in their head and they do live in a swamp..cant kill a deer in Florida so they all have to come to Georgia to get us men to show em how its done..The reason they cant is most are major pot heads and are too stoned to shoot a cow much less a deer..UGA need’s to recruit more from the South part of Georgia..South Georgia wins state almost every year in high school and most of the best talent of yesteryear came from here..Richt goes right past us into Florida these days. When he UGA comes back to this treasure of talent of BLOOD n GUTS kinda players Georgia will be on top again..WE are the closest to the Florida border and HATE THEM WITH A FREAKIN PASSION …NEED I SAY MORE?????????

Dawgma, Man up Dawg, & not drinkin the kool-aid are PINHEADS…IMHO.

The DAWGS just won a huge victory and somehow you fools think your boos were motivating? Reality check required….or do boos sound different when you are booing the coaches and not the players. I am sure boos really motivate recruits to come to Athens. GET A GRIP!

Unless you live in a cave (some of you should), you can see that there will be some substantial changes in the coaching staff coming. It is obvious that the major problem in Athens is one of chemistry, not ability, talent, or skill. CMR and Damon E. have finally figured this out and adjustments will be made. Until then, if you are unhappy, STAY HOME AND/OR STFU!

You can’t be the top DAWG forever…just look at USC. Living in the SEC makes for a very long and difficult season. GA has some momentum and can take it into the next two games and finish 8-4. I did not think that possible 4 weeks ago. But, this team has finally found its groove.

Prayers to AJ and Rambo. Thanks for giving us your best!

The fans have a right and obligation to boo the coaches? Yeah sounds great doesn’t it. Did you hold up a sign so the players would know that you were “Only booing the Coaches”? Yeah, I thought not.

I am only going to cheer my team if we are winning and playing like I want them to play. They better run the schemes I want them to run or I will boo them. You guys sound like the most selfish self absorbed jerks I have ever heard of in college sports. No wonder other teams think we are sorry fans. With fans like you, who needs an opposing crowd.

I may be an old timer but we never booed the players or the team and we lost almost every home game in 79. In the Dooley years more than once we cheered the team and coaches running off the field at halftime even though they would be behind as much as three touchdowns. They would storm back on the field after the half and kick butt and win the game.

You do not give the “enemy”(opposing team) your ammo. They take that booing as cheers for them. Wake up people. This is where you vent your displeasure with the coaching or even team. Not in the stadium.

In the stadium we are all Dawgs together. Or we are nothing at all.

Boos for a King draw play on 3rd and 15? You trust Joe to stand in the pocket for and extended period in an obvious passing situation and not throw a pick? I agree with the call. In general, booing isn’t a sin, but this was a huge recruiting day and boos do not signal a healthy program on the rise to BIG RECRUITS. They will go to FLA / ALA if the fans seem disgruntled.

SO much negativity after a WIN…unbelievable…There are reasons for optimism….Great game Dawgs (after 1st Qtr)…we continue to be tough against the run…what might that mean for Tech? The Teams that rippped our D ( Ark, TN ) did so with a QB who can do play action and had the ability to go vertical…we beat ourselves against UF and we all know why we lost to LSU….I am truly optimistic about the young talent…and CWM is not saved – the Tech game will be a make a break for him…also, we have the chance to extend our streak of most 8 win seasons in a row ( Best in college football at the moment for all you haters)…uneffin believable!!!

Martinez needs to be replaced. Let that happen in the offseason after signing day. Bobo has shown flashes of creative play calling and has a VERY young offense. I would give him a little more time under Richt’s direction to prove himeself. However, it is frustrating to have to watch first time coordinators learn their craft on the national stage. I wish Richt would let this happen at the smaller school level and bring in the polished/ proven coordinators to coach the Dawgs at a championship level. Maybe we get killed by high coordinator turnover like Carrol at USC, but the homegrown coordinator is hit-miss.

Hopefully the dawgs will get better but weve been hopeful since BVG departed. Still standing around and getting behind before the dawgs understand that they are playing in a football game. Visions of West Virginia, Alabama and others. In fact some of these faint hearted fans needs to start a league where the score is not kept or maybe start a college flag football league. You fans are as soft as Willies defense. You folks think that recruits would come to UGA if the fans would just sit on their hands while UGA gets its brain bashed in. Yeah right get a clue. They have already seen UGA play they know whats going on and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out UGA’s inept play calling. Dawgtime @ 7:26, yes I saw the hold when I watched the replay. RS will have a fine career @ Safety or LB beginning next year.

I knew the boos were for (primarily) Coach Bobo. Yes those who bought a ticket, I suppose you have some sort of “right” to boo, but that doesn’t make it “right”. Not to mention (young Mr. Luc and others), but if you are really a Dawg fan then the best thing for the program is to cheer for the team you supposedly love and show these potential future dawgs what a great atmosphere it is between the hedges. Really, it’s more important we sign [Luc] than it is for you to selfishly indulge yourself with booing. Just sayin’.

DawgsRule — Anyone know what Auburn was ranked?
I was told that Auburn was ranked 25th in the Coaches Poll before the game. Not sure about the BCS.

Cuz… well put. Couldn’t have said it better. “In the stadium we are all Dawgs together. Or we are nothing at all.” Or – united we stand, divided we fall. It’s true in war, and peace, and on the gridiron.

Man up DAWG — Barkin Dawg I bet all you do is bark and have no bite behind your little PC. Go get involved by selling Claxton friut cakes this holiday season. For you ….go bark up another tree and shove it up your Faint hearted A$$. Hey Barkin Dawg……. go lick a fire hydrant.

I’ll put my MAC (PC) up against yours and 4 others here, bud… and how did you know I sell fruit cakes?
As for the fire hydrant, not after you pee’ed on it ;-)
All I was trying to say earlier is “we can’t complain about the recruits we get, regardless of ranking, if we piss off the ones who go to Florida and Bama partly because of fan attitudes.” Booing has no place in college football except for the OTHER TEAM! That’s traditional. And, instead of writing about your frustration here, how about writing a letter to Damon or CMR. Have you done that yet?

Here’s my bottom line. I am certain Willie is gone after the season. He knows it. He just wants to go out with a better showing than what he’s shown the past 2-3 years. But, if we beat GA Tech and win our bowl game, I will not lose sleep over Willie staying. Our young defense (with all of their bone-headed mistakes) will only improve and make any DC we may have look better. Have a little faith. Call that faint-hearted, if you will… I call it optimistic. Woof-woof!

Why were not as good as Georgia Tech — LOOK AT ME! Exactly… you have a good year going and you want everyone to look at you. You poor pitiful child. You want attention so bad… you had to come over here because no one is giving you props on your blog. KMA & STFU & THWGT fans like you!

I think it’s clear that Georgia fans haven’t been booing our players (Cox certainly could have deserved it for the majority of the year), but rather Bobo’s playcalling. What’s going to resonate with recruits isn’t the booing at the beginning of the game, it’s the student section leading 92,000 fans chanting “Ram – bo, Ram – bo” multiple times for a backup safety during and after his injury.

I was happy with the win, and think the DAWGS played well for 3 quarters. However, the first quarter was a perfect example of what is wrong with Georgia. Bobo and Martinez put us in a hole, and then we praise them becasue of how we played later???? Good coordinators wouldn’t make such bone headed calls at the beginning of a game.

I was happy but it made me sick to my stomach to see Richt and Martinez hugging each other at the end. This win changes nothing. Martinez MUST be fired but after seeing the hug it made me realize that Richt will never fire this man.

Something is seriously wrong if Richt can’t see how bad Martinez is for our program. Next year will be more of the same with Martinez, and Richt will be fired at the end of 2010 for keeping his blinders on.

One more bad year, and then HOPEFULLY we can start to rebuild.

KJ,

Regarding your comment below. When fans boo a coach and his play calling, the object of their frustration may have no idea that he is being booed, but the whole team certainly hears it and in many cases is going to assume it is directed at them. It is therefore idiotic to assume that this form of “communication” is in any way positive or has the effect that the fans think/hope it might. Those booing may feel better but if you think it is an effective or logical form of communication during the course of a game and somehow similar to blogging, you are completely wrong.

KJ’s comment:
