I think once we again have a defense the fans can rally around, noise won't be an issue. It's sort of a catch-22. When the defense plays poorly, the crowd is demoralized. Similarly, when the crowd is fired up, and the defense can't make a play, then the crowd loses energy. Early in the Auburn game, the defense would put Auburn in 3rd and long situations, the crowd would get very loud and then they would make the first down. It's hard for the fans to stay enthusiastic when it doesn't seem to be making a difference. Fortunately, the Dawgs kept fighting and then the crowd was able to play a role late in the game, making it difficult for Auburn to hear the play calls.

...can't shoot straight,

You state, 'How or why he considers himself an OC genius misses with me.' Apparently that is not the only thing that misses with you. He has never called himself an "OC genius" and I have heard nothing to indicate he would think of himself that way. For the record, he has a record of being one of the most successful offensive coaches in football. If you have forgotten, he was OC at Fla. St. when they were dominating college football.

FLA DAWG,

You said, "That brings up the continued HFA given UF annually. I don’t give a damn what Gator Fans or S. Ga. UGA Fans say, it is an advantage to The Gators to play in Jax year in and year out."

Well, I'm neither a Gator nor from S. Ga. and I say, there is NO home field advantage to the Gators in Jacsonville. How do you explain the first 50+ years of the game when we OWNED the Gators? And to even suggest that as an excuse for losing in the last 20 years is PATHETIC. We're going to BEAT the Gators again and we're going to do it in Jacksonville!!!

Because the stadium is silent. Dead silent. Its not the biggest stadiums that are the loudest (that title goes to 57k Autzen in Oregon). THe few games I've gone to, the fans are content with just chatting with the people around them instead of screaming when UGA is on defense.

Apparently the administration believes Richt is what is wrong between the hedges. There are several reports out now that says he is on the way out after this season and will be replaced by Derek Dooley. Seems unlikely to me but I have been seeing it all day today

It has to do with coaching, preparation and players. Dooley rarely lost at home and quite often would win games away from home that he was "suppposed" to lose ( see Ann Arbor, Jacksonville, Baton Rouge, Auburn). Also Dooley never tolerated being "INEPT". Remember the 13-13 tie in nashville ... after the game Dooley apologized to the fans, the university, the boosters, the alumni, and just about anybody else he felt was offended by a lackluster, inept performance of a Big Time Football Program. When was the last time (since Dooley) that you heard a GA coach apologize for the INEPT play of his football team? All we get now are empty promises that the team will get better, and the coaches will get it straightened out!

No wonder Michael Adams wanted Dooley out ... Dooley expected more than mediocrity and ineptness from THE University of GEORGIA!

UGa's Defense is a joke and so is Sanford Stadium. I mean when the Gators last played in Sanford we hung over a half of hundred there. UGA = EASY BEATDOWNS !!!!!

I wonder what the stats are for home game winning percentage between night vs. day games. Night games always seem to have a raucous crowd. More tailgating time.

One more thing. Why the clamor to retain CMR? He's the guy who has brought the good and the bad, 2 SEC championships. But he's brought us garbage beginning with the CWM era. He's the captain of the ship folks and in the Navy, even if the captain is asleep, he's responsible for what happens to his ship. CMR is the responsible party because he has given his imprimatur to CRM's bend, then break defense, and a half-assed offense that has his fingerprints all over it. How or why he considers himself an OC genius misses with me.

I have admiration for Mark Richt the Man. To borrow what someone wrote a while back, that being said, I detest him as a coach. I can't wait for the day that sees him gone. He doesn't have it folks. Our rivals have passed him by.
