When he left UGA, he said that his ultimate goal was to become a head coach in the NFL. Being an NFL def. coordinator (which he is right now) is his best path to that goal. By the way, BVG tried being a college head coach at GA Southern and that ended horribly. Not only did the Eagles suck while BVG was there, but he also managed to piss off the legendary Erk Russell, the godfather of GA Southern football. shards1967,

I wonder if we are doing that and, if we are, why we don't script the whole game. It seems that our offense starts really well and then becomes stagnant. But watching games across the country, I could say the same thing about most offensive coordinators. NFL guys too. Check out a Denver Broncos game some time, and you'll see Knowshon pick up a first down and then they switch to the pass and the drive dies. Tailback U,

He is still a little inexperienced though. The problem with the offense aside from Cox is that the play of the defense dictates what the offense will try to do. How many of you actually dread a big play by our Offense? I do. While it is great to see Smith run 60 yrds for a TD, I jkust know what will happen once the Defense gets back on the field. If you think about it, the D does not rally give up alot of yardage on big plays. No 50,60,70 yrd plays. Just 10-15 that eat up clock as well as gather first downs for the oppisition.
