While in one respect I feel that if you need extra motivation to win, you weren't really ready in the first place, I'm getting tired of folks dogging Richt for the uniform changes. It was the same for the Bama game last year. The thing is that I don't remember fans criticizing him as being "gimmicky" or needing extra juice when he first brought out the black jerseys in 2007 against Auburn and later for Hawaii. That's because we crushed both teams. The fact is I don't think CMR would be getting so much flak for this one had we beaten Florida.

@Georgia Dawg by Way of Las Vegas:

Are you saying there is not one white player in the State of Georgia (or the Southeast) capable of playing defense, RB or WR for the University of Georgia….that’s ludicrous

Back @ crabapplejoe :

I'm not saying any such thing. I'm saying that your comment wasn't needed because race is not the issue as to why the Bulldogs are losing. You wanted it to be which is why you brought it up in the first place.

Players are not only recruited ... they also choose to accept where they attend school. They do have a choice in the matter.

The fact that Mark Richt doesn't have a starting lineup with a white wide receiver or running back has nothing to do with what race he recruits.

Your question/statement implies that the university of Georgia won championships in the past with an ample amount of white players at those positions. Guess what?! ... They were given credit for a title in 1942 with white players because only white players were allowed to play at Georgia in the past through the mid 70's. That wasn't black players fault ... it was the fault of a flawed idea that black players were inferior.

The title Georgia won in 1980 was won by a group of players Vince Dooley thought were the best he had to put on the field regardless of color. You find us another Terry Hoage and I'll recruit him and deliver him to Athens myself.

Color was never the issue.

It was also nice to see how Vern and the rest of the staff at CBS thought that Florida leads the overall series?????

I means seriously? I know they've owned us the last 20 years but you would think they coud get the facts straight. That was pathetic.

Calling all UGay fans, all you leg humpers out there,

Too bad, soooo sad, your Halloween dreams turned into a nightmare. Surprise, surprise.

Time for all you whiners to stick with your team, your coach, your QB. Stick with 'em when they are down, or you're just a wuss and a whiner.

Bring us your best, we are waiting patiently at North Ave.

GO YELLOW JACKETS!!!! One Eyed Jack

Hey Bill,
I've been doing a lot more Red & Black bleeding lately than I ever thought I would! At this point, I really think Mark Richt should either (a) offer to resign or (b) dismiss every member of his coaching staff except Rodney Garner. To keep him (and his considerable talent for recruiting our home-grown players, which Kiffin and every other coach wants), Richt should offer Garner whatever assistant coaching position he wants.
Damon Evans' seat should also be red hot, but Michael Adams would have to turn up that flame, and he won't. (Since Adams disparaged Coach Dooley, I have had no use for Adams, although I will give him credit for heeding the Atlanta big Dogs and firing Donnan.) Evans is paid far too much. His performance should also be closely scrutinized. Perhaps he needs to go into business with Ray Goff.
There is just no excuse for our having been beaten to a pulp, time and again, as we have been this year. We'll be lucky to show well against Auburn, Kentucky and Tech. We may well lose all three of those games. If we lose two of the three, Richt won't have to offer to resign. Bowden has praised him lately, because Bobby's tired, and he would like the FSU faithful to welcome Richt despite his terrible coaching performance this season.
Personally, I don't Care if Muschamp is in the ACC or anywhere else. We need good coaching, period. Of course, I surely don't care for Kiffin (and I despise UT), but he has taken charge in Obknoxville and made a positive impact on that program (largely at our expense)! We need someone like him (like Richt used to be). If Richt is to stay, I'd like to see him rehire Brian Van Gorder.
Please give me your thoughts. I cannot abide any more of Richt's "mea culpa" speeches. What will he do now that the cow has left the barn?
Oh BTW, those black uniforms are downright ugly. Burn them now.

The dawg football program is in such a mess, it would suit me if every starting player had the rest of the season off and the backups would play the season out. Also, the coaches including CMR should take the rest of the season off as well, as they haven't done diddely squat so far. Some phys. ed. instructors could do just as well.

Come on MississippiDawg give Sly a chance. He is a lot better coach than Richt, no talent at State.

Guarantee you he will run a more disiplined well coached team and could give a rat's %$@ about uniforms.

CROOM TO GEORGIA IN 2010.

Roll Tide!!

2 days later and we are still blogging about it....Let's face it, CMR is a great coach and talk of replacing "him" is silly. Yes the other coaches need to go and some will. Remember this stat...we have the longest streak going for 8+ WIN seasons in the NATION,,,,yes it will end this season but here's to starting another streak in 2010....it will hurt CMR to do it but he will say Goodbye to his friend CWM at the end of the year - Guaranteed...and yes it is time to play A Murray!!!!! Anyone disagree?? Sly Croom will NEVER be HC at Georgia - he sucked at MS ST. The others on your list are a joke too "toga".

Richt tries these motivational stunts because he is to chummy with the players to discipline them. He needs to pass out some wind sprints instead spending money on uniforms and helmets. You'd think he'd learn his lesson with this. How many times do you try this and still get pounded before you stop? Other coaches are probably thinking to themselves, this guy needs to cut the shenanigans, cull out some inept individuals, and instigate some attitude altering drills in practice.
