AJ Green is great . . . Saint Simons, if you want to compare "accomplishments" yes, AJ Green will have more yards than Calvin but folks new how good he was despite Reggie Ball. Heck, Reggie's wild throws provided for Calvin's greatest highlights.

So, if you want to look at "accomplishments" . . . check out this for 2009:

Name Catches Yards Avg/catch TDs Lg Catch
AJ Green 30 527 17.6 5 56
207 lbs
6-4
UGA

D. Thomas 24 536 22.3 3 65
229 lbs
6-3
GA Tech

Georgia Tech fans are a pathetic bunch of hanger-onner's. Can you not find your own blog?

You are nothing if not predictable. I knew the Calvin Johnson statement would chum you suckers to the top.

A.J.'s accomplishments at UGA will dwarf Calvin Johnson's. The only way Johnson could have developed into his full potential and shown his ability would have been to attend a real football school instead of Tech.

Go pound sand...in your own sandbox!

"I’m just afraid that Green won’t get proper consideration in years to come as one of the all-time UGA greats simply because he’s the lone standout on an otherwise average team."

This probably wont happen Bill. The reason is that AJ will more then likely go on to have a great NFL career. People still like to think of Terrel Davis as a great former UGA RB.

AJ is clearly the star on this years team and arguably the best receiver ever at GA and possibly the best in the country thus far this season. If the dawgs had a RB that could make runs/plays the way AJ does this could be a whole different team and challenge anyone week in and week out. Unfortunately, thats not the case so far this season.

Get off Joe Cox's case. His only bad game was OSU and he was sick. Blame that one on the coaches. He doesn't shine all the time but he is steady and he's not the sole reason for GA's losses this season. There's enough blame to go around and it lands on just about every player (except Green) and each coach.

Win or lose this w/e, just display some desire, dawgs, and put some fear into TN otherwise don't even show up.

AJ is definitely the best we have ever had. He makes place through single, double, even triple coverage! He makes our bad QB look SEC caliber...that's what makes him so amazing!

If he had a good QB throwing to him, he would already be being mentioned in the Heisman race. Instead he drags mediocre players up to a higher level...and thank God for that!

Without AJ we are 1-4 and Joe Cox is back to his rightful place on the bench holding a clipboard.

I don't know why everyone compares him to Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson...I think he is more like Chuck Norris.

AJ is a really good WR. Too bad UGA can't find a consistent running game to take more attention off him.

Hard to say whether A.J. will be as good as Calvin Johnson is.
Certainly have to like his chances based on three things. Those being
hands, leaping ability , and competitiveness.

Tech has excellent talent on the collegiate level at the wideout
position. But I believe they will have problems in the future
in recruiting that same kind of talent . The reason is simply
that kids want the chance to play in the NFL . And the type of
system Tech runs is not very compatible.
Comparing A.J. with Tech recievers is not a good comparison
for the simple reason of how defenses handle them.
Tech receivers have the benefit of defenses designed to stop the
run . Because of this they are not challenged to the same degree
that an A.J. is challenged. It is hard to get better without
being properly challenged. In the NFL receivers must defeat
bump and run . The learning curve is steeper. I believe it
will have a long negative impact on recruiting that position for
Tech as recruits watch former Tech guys fail in the NFL.
But not to short CPJ as he wiil be able to sell to a few guys
on the fact that their numbers will look good.
