Not quite enough

Well, like I was saying the other day … at least it wasn’t a conference game.

The defense played well enough to win but the offense let them down.

Turnovers, penalties, spotty special teams play (what else is new?) and inconsistent offensive play doomed the Dogs. Missed opportunities at takeaways hurt, too.

I’ll be back with more. What did you think?

They got away from there game plan, keep running, and use the tightend until defense start cheating. But overall decent game, going to need better qb play as the season goes on

drops in key spots, bad turnovers, penalties in bad spots, branden smith over anxious on two special teams play, leaned on the run too much in 1st half, and last but not least a terrible call by the refs on jones’ hit it turned a 3rd and 11 into 1st and goal and touchdown… instead of down 7 with ball tryin to possibly tie…..oh yeah they dropped too many would be ints…its football season and the only positive is the schedule is tough so if they can bounce back they can climb their way back and still win the SEC championship b/c lets face it the SEC/big 12 champs r going to play for the national championship unless a USC go undefeated…10-4

No NC this year. But its ok we played ok!

I love Coach Richt the man but I dont think he will ever win another SEC title or any National Title. When he first came here Bowden said he didnt think he was tough enough to be a head coach. That is still the case. Cheerleading on the sideline when the offense is that flat is not coaching. I am sick of hearing about our stellar recruiting classes and then seeing flat, incompetent offensive play. As the Blog says, fumbles, lousy special teams, penalties. What else is new. Dohnan was at least this good.

Well it was just a disappointing way to start the season. Joe was either still sick or is not very good. Richard Samuel does not look to have any breakaway ability. After the first drive, what happened to our play calling? We had 3 different guys take snaps on the first drive and then nothing after that. Why? AJ Green had little DB’s on him all game and we never even look at him. It might be 3-0 next week based on what we did and what SC did. Could be a long year if that is all we have to offer on offense.

Just finished looking over eight years worth of recruiting publications and comparing the final rankings of talent between UGA and OSU and could not find one class that OSU out recruited UGA.That brought me to the conclusion that either the publications are not worth the paper they are written on or this coaching staff is not getting the job done.

What are we going to do to get Mark Richt fired up??? He runs it down their throats and then he stopped for the rest of the half. Then when the games was on the line, what did we do but penalties and turnovers. Plus when is the defense going to intercept a ball, two were right in our hands and we couldn’t catch it. I will never cry wolf about the referees but today they were terrible!! When did it start being a penalty for hitting someone in the chest. We should have been able to review that play. I know I am dreaming but I guess I have wishful thinking. Come on Mark, let’s see you get mad a few times and get this team going or it will be a long season again!!!!!!!!!

Sickening. The team with the drive and desire won this game. The defense was so-so with the last score courtesy of the referee’s, but the offense was poor. They did not look as if they wanted to win after the first drive. I haven’t seen Georgia running backs go down so readily in quite a while. They made an average defense look like the steel curtain. No drive, no imagination, no fire in the gut. Except for asking a gimpy Cox to roll to his left and throw across his body into a crowd on a crucial down. Special Teams… Pathetic, but for the punting game. (At least the kicking part.) I get it that this is the first game of the year but knowing when to take it back out of the endzone on kick offs is taught in junior high. Kickoff coverage? Can we ever find a kicker that can get it past the 10, much less into the endzone? Punt coverage… Running together and knocking the ball into the endzone is easy to understand since it is so hard to keep up with what uniforms your own team is wearing. NO DISCIPLINE on special teams, period. It looks like pick-up ball. The defense was giving up 1 to 3+ yards after wrapping up their ball carriers on almost every play. They moved the ball almost at will and mostly stopped themselves. We couldn’t even take advantage of the interceptions they tried to give us. This kind of play will get us scorched as the season progresses. Hopefully this is a wake up call and the lowest point of the season…

I’ve got a great game plan! Let’s come out of the locker room and cram the ball down their throats and punch them in the mouth and score. Then lets completely abandon that plan and go with some stupid crap that doesn’t work. Whata you say? Who’s with me??

I am ready to scrap the Joe Cox era already. Being a good guy and good leader is NOT enough to be the QB of this team. I really thought Logan Gray was going to get some reps. Incredible that he did not given Cox and his poor play. I am not ready to say it is going to be a horrible season, but I do think 8-4 looks about right. Could be worse if we don’t find a QB that can make plays… Bobo’s game plan was not good, Martinez’s defense played surprising although they still broke in key spots… Kicking was the lone bright spot today… Please give us 20 plays with Gray next week and maybe a series of Murray or Mettenberger. Honestly I don’t care if I ever see Joe Cox on the field again this year. Pathetic debut and playing.

Richt was good before he had the young coaching competition he has today (i.e.Oklahoma State’s coach; Urban Myer; UT’s new coach, etc.). Now, he’s bush league compared to these new comers who are hungry like he once was. Why he has no qualified quarterback or succeed Stafford is evidence of that. More compelling evidence is the incompetent play-calling and, inevitably, the most porous defense in the SEC. This is going to be a real bad year-his first loosing year, for sure. Let’s not keep him around until the program is trashed like we did with Ray Goff.

Crappy special teams play. Two lost fumbles. Quit the running game to early. We looked out of shape at the end. One really bogus late hit call, but that did not cost us the game by itself. The defense was not bad. Richard Samuel played a really good game. Also we had a couple of guys open, for long gains, and Cox missed them. A couple of dropped passes. We have a lot of work to do. What happened to our big, bad O line? Other than the first drive, a pretty lackluster effort by the offense. Give Okie State credit. They whipped us.

The defense did play well. There were several horrible calls and non-calls by the officials. But Ga’s real problem is that sorry offensive coordinator. Mike Bobo needs to be fired right now. We can’t let him continue to run the offense and expect to win.

Mike your spelling is an “emberishment”. Nothing is wrong with Samual that 5 more carries in the first half wouldn’t have helped. Why abandon the run after blowing the OSU defensive front off the ball on the first drive? Georgia was only in the game when they played power running football. Bobo, Please call the same game in Atlanta. Go Jackets!!!!

Joe Cox is a game manager, he needs playmakers around him to be successful. As far as i can tell we only have one (A.J.). Cox looked overwhelmed most of the game. I think we need to play Logan more or even Murray because it looks like we will not even beat S. Carolina, there defense is way better than Okie Dokie State. Once again another average at best season. I see at least 4 more losses on this schedule. On the bright side our defense actually played aggressive most of the game, I absolutely loved those big hits by Evans and Jones, bogus penalty on Reshad’s.

Joe Cox could not win a county championship at the YMCA… this is the worst display of a UGA qb which I have seen. JC has already limited our offense to 55% because of the poor arm strenght. Steve spurrier is licking his chops at our offense. It going to be a long season… PS Mike Bobo couldn’t call pass at the XBOX NCAA tournment.

LMFAO. What happened to that superstar O-line and the great “leadership” from Cox??? Losing all your key skill position players(except Green) and your team is going to be BETTER??!!?? No, but of course uog was going to get it done in the TRENCHES now(LMFAO). Hope this was a bitter dose of reality for the mutts.

And after this stinker there’s still a mutt fan above talking SEC and national title!!! Mutt fans have to be the most delusional on earth. I honestly think OKST will turn out to be an average team this year. They will lose to TX, OU, and probably one or two middling teams. Another 8-4/9-3 type season. They don’t have the horses to hang with elite programs. But of course uog isn’t an elite program, and this is the start of a long, well-deserved fall from grace for the pups.

NOW ABOUT THE GAME..

Joe Cox throws ducks left and right. He does not have the arm to compete in the SEC. Mark Richt is a loyal fool. He is too loyal to his coaches and his players. I seen Murray at practice this summer, and I can vouch that he is 10x the QB that Joe Cox is, and its not even close when it comes to talent. But good ol Christian Mark Richt with a trunk full of Talent will come up with some reason not to play Murray. Get ready for 5 more losses guys because they are coming. One thing I do know is that Urban would not be caught with his pants down like Richt.

In Cox’s defense, he was suffering from the flu (or “flu-like symptoms”). Our team’s problems obviously go deeper than just the quarterback, but let’s not call for the head of Joe Cox just yet, especially not in favor of a freshman.
