While we’re passing along betting news out of Las Vegas, Senator Blutarsky points out a Las Vegas Sun article detailing the early Las Vegas Hilton betting lines on some big games this season.
As you’d expect, Florida is a 13.5 point favorite over the Dogs, but Georgia is a favorite over South Carolina (11.5 points), Arkansas (3.5 points), LSU (3.5) and Tennessee (3).
Oh, and the Dogs also are a 1-point favorite over Georgia Tech.
Guess the oddsmakers aren’t as impressed with Paul Johnson’s triple-option juggernaut as they are with Mark Richt’s road record. …
So it’s the postgame interviews that will be trimmed from Loran Smith’s to-do list on the UGA radio broadcasts. WSB-TV sports anchor Chuck Dowdle, who already cohosted Mark Richt’s weekly TV show, has told our Tim Tucker that he’s agreed to take on the locker-room interviews this season.
What sort of difference will that make? Well, the questions no doubt will be a bit more relevant — less about someone’s hometown or food preferences and more about what happened on the field. But based on Dowdle’s work on the TV show, Richt and company still will be getting softball inquiries designed to ruffle no feathers at Butts-Mehre.

I don’t care what they say……odds don’t matter as well as predicitions. All of those pretty much tell me that the Dawgs have some very close games this year. Senior leadership and an all around team will dictate how well they do and again I like what I see.

I never have liked seeing the lines on games, especially four months or more before they’re played. Don’t worry about Vegas, settle it on the field. The Dawgs will play well this year, far better than 6-6. They may even surprise some people. That’s the nice thing about playing under the radar.

“I wonder how big of a favorite UGA was over Tech last season…. ”
I think it was about 7-8 points if I remember correctly, largely due to our historic ownership of your pile of crap football program. Obviously anybody who had watched us get gashed by Kentucky for 38 points knew that Georgia Tech could be a handful though. But congrats to the Techies for pulling off what they have convinced themselves is the upset of the century. They are still riding high over this historic 3 point win over Georgia. Lets hope their team still has their heads planted firmly in their backsides like they did in their bowl game because of it. That would be great. Happy choking Techies. Couldn’t happen to a better group of fans…

It really is funny how these so called Tech fans misinterpret, misquote and misjudge everything the Dawg fans post.
In looking at these post I don’t see a single Dawg fan taking the Vegas Predictions seriously and getting ragged by the Tech non-sensibles for something we haven’t even bought into. Especially since we will beat all these teams by much larger margins. I personally hope the Tech fans take the other team and points for each of our opponents for the entire season. It will serve them right to lose all their tips earned delivering pizzas for betting against the Dawg’s.

Actually, RAMBLE ON, I think most of the Georgia fans here are saying that it’s rather stupid to try and put a line on a game that is still four months away.
Oh, and by the way, mark it down, Wofford will beat Western Carolina 42-24 in 2013.

Oh ya, I think both Tech and UGA fans agree that this vegas crap 4 months before the game means nothing. Which is why this blog has devolved into the usual bashing of the other team much quicker than usual. The facts are Tech beat UGA last year. Tech returns virtually their entire offensive squad that put up 45 last year. UGA lost three of it’s best offensive players. There is no reason why anyone can look at the facts and say the UGA is favored to win this season. Absolutely none. UGA fans know it and it scares them so they get defensive (something their team couldn’t seem to do last year). Tech wins by two scores

What? You mean no more questions from Loran after the game like….
1. How special was it for you to win the game today?
2. How special was it for you to have your mom watch you play today?
3. Did you know that you could run that fast? If not, how special was that for you?
Love ya Loran, but the post game interviews were not your best contributions to the broadcast.

Bill, the above quote is saying that an average ACC team will do better against Georgia than 3 pretty good SEC teams. I’m sure the ACC appreciates the compliment

It is funny to me how the gtu fans have replaced scu fans as the most delusional in college football. I must admit that scu has had more success against UGA during the last 18 years (with out cheating as per the NCAA) than has gtu. I really don’t hate tech, it goes much deeper than that.
