Its simple Jones plays for Nick Saban. Hayes and others in the media love players that play for those kind of coaches. High profile coaches coach high profile players it a set because the media giveth and the media taketh away. Saban and Meyer are high profile for good reason they won national championships. Dawg fans hope Richt can join their company in the next two or three years. But don't get too hyped up by the list. They are just something Hayes and others throw together in the off season because its easy and fills space. And during the season what they write usually doesn't make a lot of sense either.

I think it is hilarious how Bama has one good season, and all their fans act like Bear Bryant has returned from the dead. Bama embarrassed the SEC last year in the BCS. Utah *cough* Non-BCS *cough* did work. Georgia has won 2 BCS games this decade, and has appeared in 3. Good luck squeezing out 7 wins next year BAMA. Georgia may not be the best team in the SEC, but year in and year out they are the most consistent.

Green wasn't Staffords only option last year where as Jones was "it" in Bama. Green's stats are stated in the article but what it doesn't mention is that Mohammed Massaquoi also had 58 catches for 920 yards with 8 TD's for UGA last yr. Michael Moore, UGA's third leading receiver last yr had 100 more yards than Bama's #2 receiver had last yr. So is it really fair to say that Jones is THAT much better than Green when A.J clearly had better receivers surrounding him who could've easily taken away from his own production? I think the idiots that write those columns need to pay more attention to detail before they post. My opinion

Sure Green put up slightly better numbers, but keep in mind that Jones was Bama's only receiver threat. Jones was constantly double, if not triple, teamed. If there had been another threat to relieve some of the coverage on Jones (like Green had with Massiqua, or however you spell his name), there's no telling what he could have done.

I agree with uga_b as long as Green puts up better numbers while he is at UGA I don't care who gets the hype. Both are very good and I hope Marlon Brown comes in and gives AJ a someone opposite him to take advantage of the single coverage they will be getting as all the coverage will be rolled to AJ to start the season. Oh and for the GT posters on here, showing your true colors when you are cheering that something burned down in your rivals hometown, real nice.

Very few people have mentioned that AJ played much of 2008 with an injured groin. Did that affect his speed? Probably. I look forward to his having an injury-free 2009. But you have to remember that Richt and Bobo like a balanced offense. This means that we will run the ball 50-60 % of the time and Cox will also throw to other receivers. So don't be surprised if AJ's stats are similar to 2008. I just hope that Marlon and Orson pan out so we will have some balance in the receiving dept.

Both are great receivers but you really can't compare them cause their two different . i would take aj to catch the ball and julio after the catch. one thing you got to remeber about julio though is he played the whole season with a broken wrist.

Tech fans are the worst in the world. They make Florida fans look intelligent. They can't sell out a game to save their lives but with the way they talk trash about everything you would think they had actually won 10 games 1 single time in the last 20 years.
