Bulldog Bites: Steve Greer, Rex Robinson, weak offenses

Steve Greer, one of the legendary All-SEC and All-American linemen from the Dooley era, a UGA athletics staffer for many years (he helped recruit Herschel Walker) and currently director of football operations, is retiring June 30. UGA legend Dan Magill reminisces about Greer’s career as a player in his latest column in the Athens Banner-Herald. … Another Georgia legend, Rex Robinson, is now blogging. So far he’s written about suspensions and the problems of living in a fishbowl, and on how competition from someone trying to take away his job helped make him a success at UGA. Check it out here. … David Hale of the Bulldogs Blog takes a look at the less-than-stellar prospects for offenses in the SEC in the coming season. Lots of green, relatively inexperienced quarterbacks will be starting, which means the league’s defenses (including Willie Martinez’s at Georgia) shouldn’t be allowing 30-plus points a game. The pressure is on, Hale says.

Folks, this was a good post by Bill. It has good tid-bits and doesn’t needlessly ramble on.

Who won the UGA gt game last night?

How can a Tech fan talk smack about UGA? UGA owns Tech in their football series.

Get off Bills back. This was a good post. Not only is brevity the soul of wit, it is also the handmaiden to the truth.

I don’t know. I think Bill is just making a subtle commentary on the nature of sport bloggers lately. I mean half the comments in here is simply copying what somebody else said.

Thanks for the mention Bill, that was unexpected. I hope I might occasionally contribute something of value. We’ll see.

Georgia now leads the overall series 196-149-2. It dates to April 21, 1898. Georgia is 6-1 against Tech in games at Turner Field.

And thats in Baseball….

Guys, this a blog, not a column. Sometimes folks have more to say than others when they blog. And Bill isn’t a professional journalist, just a fan who is doing more than his fair share to keep Dawg fans up to date. I don’t always agree with what he writes, but I really appreciate his efforts!!

Keep up the great work, Bill!
