Predictions: Georgia wins on Red-and-Black Saturday

IMG_0416

Before we get to this week’s big question — will Georgia be caught looking ahead to the SEC Championship game, the BCS title game, world domination, next year’s rankings, global peace, contact with an alien life form and a voice from a burning bush somehow lose to Georgia Tech — let’s get to what really matters.

The continuing devolution of mankind. I speak, of course, of Black Friday.

Once we’ve finished our annual Thursday tradition of consuming four helpings of turkey, three pieces of ham, 17 side dishes, six rolls (or was it seven?), three desserts and a Diet Coke and lapsing into a food coma, we’ll segue into Shopping on Steroids. Black Friday is that wonderful time when we rise at 3 a.m. after four hours of sleep to save $40 on a laptop, $6 on a sweatshirt and 27 cents on Play-Doh.

December wasn't good enough. He just had to start after Thanksgiving.

December wasn't good enough. He just had to start after Thanksgiving.

We’ll be overcome by feelings of a tremendous conquest, until the following week when these same items are on sale for the same price, only without the 400-pound, fire-breathing woman who elbowed you in the head the week before as she reached for the $12 Crock-Pot.

The first Black Friday came following the first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, when Santa Claus finished waving to little children, complained of a sore rump and a headache and said, “That wasn’t worth 50 bucks. Where’s my scotch?”

Stay in bed. I’ll generate riches for you so you can afford things full retail!

I’ll make this quick: Georgia is better than Georgia Tech at every single position. The Bulldogs have the added advantage of not having had to fire their defensive coordinator or seeing their athletic director quit for another job. Does Tech have a chance? Of course. Weird things happen in rivalry games. But I’ll side with facts: Better players, more at stake, home field.

It’s Red-and-Black Saturday: Dogs win and cover 13.

Here are some others coaches Saban is fond of.

Florida at FSU: The Gators have looked crummy the past few weeks. Will Muschamp’s retort: “We don’t win sexy, but my wife said, ‘You’re sexy.’” Show up in Tallahassee with leopard-skin briefs and a silk robe and just watch what Chief Osceola does with that flaming spear. However: Upset alert! Florida wins (but take the 8 just in case).

Auburn at Alabama: Nick Saban on Gene Chizik: “I personally think he’s done a really fine job.” Think of a fisherman praising the dead flounder in his boat. Bammy covers 31½.

LSU at Arkansas: Three future 7-Eleven night managers have recorded a song, pleading Jon Gruden to take the Arkansas job. The “Hey Grude” (sung to “Hey Jude”) video went viral — kind of like smallpox. Gruden hasn’t responded. He’s hoping Chernobyl comes through with a better benefits package. Tigers cover 12.

Three non-MBA’s from Arkansas

South Carolina at Clemson: Steve Spurrier has a chance to become South Carolina’s all-time winningest coach. I think that’s like holding the Double-A career hits record. (Bang! And here comes the email.) Clemson covers 4.

Help Wanted Bowl: Kentucky and Tennessee meet in the annual “Battle for the Barrel. But with two fired coaches and 14 SEC losses between them, UT might need a lure to get students to show up, like free sandwiches. Or tuition. Vols cover 13.

Miami at Duke: The NCAA sent semi-threatening letters to former Miami players, demanding evidence against infamous rich creep Nevin Shapiro. If the NCAA just throws a party on a yacht instead, I’m sure all of the players would show up. Canes cover 6½.

Maryland at North Carolina: Question: When Maryland cut a deal with the Big Ten, did school administrators have to dress up as, you know, like naughty nurses or something? Or was everybody just cool with the cash being left on the nightstand? Heels cover 24½.

Welcome to the Maryland School of Bidness

NFL TRIFECTA

Falcons at Tampa Bay: Matt Ryan threw five interceptions last week. Hey, maybe he just wanted to get it out of his system before the playoffs. (Sorry. Can’t help myself.) Falcons cover 1.

Packers at Giants: Jermichael Finley on Aaron Rodgers: “If I could throw myself the ball and run under it, I’d do it every play because he’s just not throwing me the ball like he used to.” Smart. He might want to bring a book this week. Giants cover 2½.

49ers at Saints: Paul Tagliabue says he’ll rule on the Saints’ bounty penalties by Dec. 4. So don’t be surprised if Jonathan Vilma jumps bail after the Falcons’ game in two weeks and hides in your bushes. San Fran covers 2.

Fantasy- you offer many athletes who just don’t accept the offer… if they did you would have more special admits… Boston College, UNC, Michigan, Wake Forest, Virginia, USC, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Duke, and Stanford all rank higher than tech academically yet still recruit better than you do.
===============================

Every school you mentioned offers their version of “Rocks for Jocks” courses. Those schools have easy majors kids can take and graduate but still barely read above an 8th grade level. UNC had students and tutors writing papers and taking tests for players. A BS degree is more difficult than a BA degree. Take the time to look at the course requirements for the degrees TECH offers. There are no P.E. or Housing degrees at Tech.

So your excuse for the fact that your scholarship recruits are not suited for the purpose for which they are intended is that, despite the fact that Georgie tek tells us their high school GPA and SAT scores are the highest in the nation, less than half of them graduate in football with a 45 Federal Graduation Rate 2011-012 and 15 percent of them graduate in men’s basketball with a 15 Federal Graduation Rate 2011-2012. And, they are the pits at winning.

It must really frost yours that you have to dream up such pitiful excuses.

Let me ask you this ?

Why do your scholarship recruits in men’s tennis graduate at a 88 percent Federal Graduation Rate ?

Oh, you have no answer for that ? Really ?

Georgia tek men’s tennis graduate at a 88 percent Federal Graduation Rate 2011-2012, Georgie tek men’s swimming graduate at a 80 percent Federal Graduation Rate 2011-2012, and men’s track and field graduate at a 74 percent Federal Graduation Rate 2011-2012. In fact, all Georgie tek’s sports all graduate at a much better Federal Graduation Rate 2011-2012 than your 45 percent Football and 15 percent men’s basketball Federal Graduation Rate 2011-2012.

So timeout runs in here and says the answer is that a BS degree is just too damn hard. Excuse me, every other scholarship recruit to Georgie tek except football and men’s basketball graduate just fine. It’s just your football players and your men’s basketball players are wholly unable to be suited for the purpose for which they are intended either on the football field or on the men’s basketball court, or in the same classrooms taking the same courses at the same time from the same professors with the same BS degree requirements.

How can this be ?

Aren’t these BOTH too, the very same 2 sports, football and men’s basketball, which are BOTH too the very ones in which Georgie tek is on NCAA PROBATION Major Infractions’ Database ? Yes.

Get out of here with your FLIMSY EXCUSES, time-out. You were not on the Debate Team at Georgie tek, were you time-out ?

# 6 school Stanford 26-11 men’s basketball, 9-2 football
# 8 school Duke 27-7 men’s basketball, 6-5 football
# 12 school Northwestern 19-14 men’s basketball, 8-3 football
# 17 school Vanderbilt 25-11 men’s basketball, 7-4 football
# 18 school Notre Dame 22-12 men’s basketball, 11-0 football
# 24 school Southern Cal 6-26 men’s basketball, 7-4 football
# 25 school Virginia 22-10 men’s basketball, 4-7 football
# 27 school Weak Forest 13-18 men’s basketball, 5-6 football
# 29 school Michigan 24-10 men’s basketball, 8-3 football
# 30 school North Carolina 32-6 men’s basketball, 7-4 football
# 31 school Boston College 9-22 men’s basketball, 2-9 football
# 36 school Georgie tek 11-20 men’s basketball, 6-5 football
# 63 school Georgia 15-17 men’s basketball, 10-1 football

None of your other sports and none of these higher ranked schools, better schools, have issues with their graduation rates of their men’s basketball and football players, nor their performance on the football gridiron nor on the gym courts. It’s just that Georgie tek’s scholarship recruits in men’s basketball and football, both on NCAA PROBATION Major Infractions’ Database, are not suited for the purpose for which they are intended, either in their sport, nor in their classrooms.

Why is that ?

Then, of course, there is you sitting there telling us that the reason why your football players graduate at 45 percent and why your men’s basketball players graduate at 15 percent is that the degree requirements at Georgie tek for a BS are just too tough.

Then, we look at every other sport at Georgie tek and see none of them are having any issues with the BS degree at all, including men’s golf, men’s track and field, men’s tennis, men’s swimming and diving- it’s just football and men’s basketball that the degree requirements for a BS degree are just too hard.

We’re told that at Georgie tek, the school is so severe because it is 1 of the nation’s top universities right up there with # 1 Harvard.

But, we look that up too, and no again the nerds have grossly exaggerated that too, and Georgie tek is ranked as actually a WORSE school than Duke, North Carolina, Northwestern, Stanford, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Notre Dame, Southern California, Weak Forest, Michigan, and Notre Dame.

And all those BETTER schools all do far better than Georgie tek is graduating their scholarship recruits in football and in men’s basketball than Georgie tek does, and they do far better than Georgie tek in football and in men’s basketball than Georgie tek does as well.

So, you will change to subject now to the people posting here now that we’ve completed debunked your utter lies, distortions, and flattering comparisons with the top schools all doing BETTER than Georgie tek in football and in men’s basketball and at graduating their scholarship recruits.

Quit trying to make excuses for your recruits in football and in men’s basketball. They are not suited for the purpose for which they are intended in their sports nor in your classrooms, and that is why they cannot graduate from a school so strict as Georgie tek, nor compete in their sport either – as you were told by

Georgia Tech has the nation’s highest average SAT score for football players, and also the highest average high school GPA.

UGA, on the other hand, has one of the very lowest SAT averages, as well as a very low GPA average. As a result, 84% of UGA players are “special admits,” when means that they can not meet the minimum educational and intelligence requirements for admission to UGA, even as low as that is. As a practical matter, most UGA players are functionally illiterate and will spend their lives on welfare or pushing a mop at a business that took pity on them and gave them a menial job.

Yes, it would be great if Tech was more competitive with UGA, but Tech fans are proud of our heritage of having intelligent, responsible athletes who go on to rewarding careers and contribute to society.

Contrast this with the very unintelligent dummies that UGA recruits. The 53 arrests over the last four years is proof enough, not to mention winning the Fulmer Cup. Most of these goons are tossed out after their eligibility is over, and many end up on welfare.

UGA is clearly just a football factory dedicated to winning at all costs, and most UGA fans are okay with this, with no concern about the embarrassment this brings to the State of Georgia.

Mark Richt is the architect of this situation. As long as he is paid a huge salary, he will continue to recruit the illiterate brain-dead thugs who he thinks will win. Unfortunately for UGA fans, he’s not remotely in the same league with the top coaches in the SEC.

So the bottom line is that Georgia Tech – win or lose – does so with honor and integrity, while the lowlife punks, woman beaters, drug users, and drunks in Athens continue to embarrass us all.

*** ANNOUNCING A CASTING CALL ***

The producers of the upcoming musical drama Isaiah and Me will be holding tryouts soon in Athens. The show will be a poignant re-creation of UGA coach Mark Richt’s wooing of uber-talented high school star Isaiah Crowell, Crowell’s triumphant arrival in Athens, his ups and downs, and his ultimate downfall and estrangement from Richt, who he looked upon as a father figure.

The highly acclaimed Bobby Petrino has already signed to play the role of Mark Richt. Said Petrino, “Mark Richt and I are so much alike that it will be easy for me to play him on stage.” When asked about this, Richt gave the reporter a blessing and replied, “No comment,” but Richt has hinted to associates that he’s tickled pink to have a quality coach playing him.

Coach Rodney Garner will be played by the Goodyear blimp. Coach Todd Grantham will be played by Jackie Sherrill, and Coach Mike Bobo will be played by Bozo the Clown, who’s on loan from Ringling Brothers Circus.

Several current UGA players were considered for the role of Isaiah Crowell, but none of them were able to read the script without assistance, so this role is still open. Rumors are circulating that Cam Newton wants the role, but his dad insists on the cash up front.

Other roles to be cast include several of Isaiah’s girlfriends and some of his homeboys. Those trying out for girlfriend roles must be suitably trashy-looking and should be able to speak fluent Ebonics. Homeboys should have the same qualities, and should be familiar with trashtalk and handguns, as well as the proper way to roll a blunt.

This is a great opportunity for budding thespians, so don’t miss your chance to be immortalized on stage.

Tryout dates and times will be posted here soon, so watch for the news.

While you guys are having your “envy party” why don’t you consider adding the following:
- You could write a mystery story and explore why GT has such high SAT scores and still have one of the lowest rates of graduation among football and basketball players. So low that GT has been on the verge of probation…….Cool beans!!!
- You could also write a handbook on “How Not to Obstruct NCAA Investigations”
- Another idea would be to uncover where the ACC is hiding GT’s (former) championship trophy.
- You could also do a documentary on why CPJ would be a better ” father figure” than CMR….THAT was funny…..you have got to be kidding me!!!
- Maybe you could do crime stories about former GT rapist coaches…..or maybe a former GT BB player accused of murder…..of course those stories are waaaaaay toofar fetched……NOT!!!!
- I would love to see a real-estate type of a report showing why living in the GT neighborhood is so much better than Athens

Wow….So many opportunities and so little time for you clowns. P.S. You need to hurry because in 36 hours you will disappear from the UGa blogs for another year as you lick your wounds (little stingers) and hide for about 365 days!!!!

Thomas Brown is WnE TROLL !!!
The graduation rates for players is higher than that of the rest of the student body !!

First Year Student Retention (full-time students): 95%
4-Year Graduation Rate: 31%
6-Year Graduation Rate: 79%

The course load at Tech is rigorous and there graduation rates are one of the reasons that Techs US News & World Reports rankings are in the 30’s. As far as recruiting GT is at a disadvantage due its limited curriculum and tight standards of enrollment, Notre Dame and Stanford have social science and liberal art colleges which can cast a much broader reach of players, GT doesn’t offer those majors. That fact the GT still manages to consistently compete is impressive when put into the context of their restrictions, however I do feel that settling for mediocrity is not and should not be a goal either.

OK so I am stupid…..or is it the pot calling the kettle black. How many HS grads (non-athletes) got into UGa last year with a 1028 on their SATs. The answer is “NONE”!!! In fact, none of the 6000 plus had a score below 1128…..much less 1028. My point is, if GT claims to have no “special admits” then how in the world do their football players have SAT averages that are 315 points lower than the overall student body. You guys claim to be good in math, but you obviously don’t understand the basic stuff. There is NO conceivable way that your football players with 1028 SAT scores would not be “special admits” at UGA…..much less at GT. You guys are full of Malarky and may even be, as you say, “stupid” if you don’t understand that 90+% of your football players would not get into GT with 1028 SATs (based on averages half would have to be in the 800-900 range). Give me a break….your team is loaded to bear with players who could not get into GT if they weren’t good football players….thus they are “special admits”!
