Aaron Murray has eight touchdowns and no interceptions in last nine quarters. (Brant Sanderlin/AJC)
If you missed it, here’s a link to my column on Georgia’s SEC East-clinching win over Auburn Saturday night.
And here are my three “short takes” on the game.
Former Georgia and Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder didn't even look happy before the game. (Brant Sanderlin/AJC)
1. Aaron Murray is just fine: Murray took a beating from some Georgia fans after horrible games against South Carolina and Florida but he has rebounded nicely. He completed his first 10 passes against Auburn (two for touchdowns) and threw for three scores and 208 yards in three quarters before being lifted. In the last nine quarters, going back to the fourth quarter of the Florida game, Murray is 44 for 60 for 675 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. Offensive coordinator Mime Bobo said Murray had been too “cautious,” adding: “I said, ‘Son, you know what’s going on. You’re one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Cut it loose. If you make a turnover being aggressive, that’s OK.’”
Jarvis Jones levels Auburn quarterback Jonathan Wallace. (Brant Sanderlin/AJC)
2. Defense gives Georgia a chance against Alabama. Auburn is one of the weakest offensive teams around, but there’s little question Georgia’s defense is finally playing up to the level that was expected before the season. The Bulldogs have allowed just one touchdown (along with four field goals) in the last three games. The missed tackles and missed assignments, partly the result of injuries and early season suspensions, aren’t an issue right now. Add to that the Alabama offense has not been overpowering in the last two games against LSU and Texas A&M. If Georgia’s defense can play at the same level against Alabama in the SEC title game as it has against Florida, Ole Miss and Auburn, it has a very good chance to pull an upset.
This Auburn fan found a lot of room to spread out. (AP photo)
3. Auburn fans are so done with this season. In 23 years of living in Atlanta, I’ve never seen a home crowd for a major college football team — let alone a team that won a national championship just two years ago — bolt from a game so quickly. Jordan-Hare Stadium was full for kickoff, certainly a positive for a winless SEC team. But boos started to rain down in the second quarter when Georgia built its lead to 21-0, then 28-0. When Keith Marshall ran 62 yards for a score to make it 38-0 in the third quiarter, it was like somebody yelled, “Fire,” in the stadium and thousands of fans streamed out. Georgia had more fans in the stadium than Auburn in the fourth quarter. That might be the worst sign of all for coach Gene Chizik.

It was a night to celebrate for Georgia players and fans. (Johnny Crawford/AJC)

Georgia’s defense has given up 7 points total in the past two meetings vs. Auburn. Great defense. Also in the past 3 games they’ve only surrendered 19 points as a defense. Outstanding.

Come on, Murray is only adequate. He has a super deep group of skilled players that my grandma could throw to, all his audibles are called from sidelines, and he has still only beat 1 top 20 team in his career. We saw how good that 1 team, Florida, was yesterday when the Ragin Cajuns took them to the wire. I’ll take Manziel or Mariota anyday.
As for you Trevinb, your team better be STATIC and come to win every week against all comers if you want a NC in the modern BCS era. It helps to run up the score too.

CGC needs to grow up! And if I were part of the AU decision making process, I would clearly spell that out to him. But I would keep him around for another year with the following ultimatum: NO MORE JC PHENOMS ARE COMING OUR WAY SO DEVELOP SOME FOOTBALL PLAYERS; STOP DEVELOPING THE PLAYERS WHO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND DISPLAY POOR CHARACTER (NEWTON, FARLEY): WIN 7 REGULARV SEASON GAMESIN 2013 OR ELSE….

I feel bad for Newton and Farley! They had that great 2010 season, but as of now neither is seen as anybody with a bright NFL future! And most of that has to do with CHARACTER (in their case a lack of it). That’s not to throw arrows at the AU program. I hate it when any great college player doesn’t pan out esp if it had to do with a lack of character! I hope EVERY great SEC player makes it big in the NFL esp J.Jackson and Clowney! But character will have everything to do with whether they make or not make it.

I can assure you the lose that Georgia had in 2010 from Auburn has absolutely nothing to do with the extreme contempt that most Georgia fans have against Auburn. For me it started back when Shug Jordan was teaching his players to take as many Georgia players out of a game anyway possible. Complete lack of integrity just starts the many reason I hate you all so much.

UGA is peaking, Bama is struggling.
UGA will be favored over Bama, and when UGA gets up 20-0 like Texas A & M did, look for the rout to be on.
If Texas A & M went up 20-0 on Bama, imagine what UGA will do to Alabama with:
1) mobile QB who is also 3rd in nation in pass effic
2) 3 premiere running backs averaging over 5.5 yards per carry
3) best 2nd half and 4th quarter defense in the nation
UGA shocks BAMA with a 27+ point win, locking up a position in the BCS Championship.

Sorry tom. Georgia fans may complain and have unrealistic expectations on occassion but it takes a special breed of whiner to talk like au4ever up there. Also, when Chizik cheers and high-fives Fairley after he acts like a thug, plays dirty, and tries to injure your QB, people tend to remember that. The way I feel about Auburn has nothing to do with winning and losing. How many times did Georgia lose to Florida in the last 20 years. I never blamed Florida and some of my best friends are Florida fans. For them I always blamed Georgia’s coaching staff for not having our kids in the right physical or mental state in order to compete.
For Auburn it’s your attitude of winning at any cost. Just like Cam Newton, Florida knew what they had but their coach didn’t want to keep a theft on the team. Cam Newton knew exactly what his father was doing but with no proof the NCAA’s hands were tied. It’s all has to do with the lack of VALUES at Auburn from the money boosters to Pat Dye and trying to get an edge AT ALL COST and not letting the kids settle it on the field.

AU should have never hired Chizik to begin. Why do you hire a coach that was a failure in a lesser league and expect him to be successful? His coaching had nothing to do with AU winning the NC. I would say about 20-30 coaches could have won with Cam, Fairley and a senior offensive line. That hire has set AU back for years to come. This is the worst Auburn team in my lifetime.

I think the point of some of these anti_AU entries is to point out that there IS a character problem in them Plains. You don’t go from 13-0 to 2-8 in less than two years and expect no one to question the character of a team.
Also I’m not going to call AJ Green and Justin Houston the world’s most perfect people. But none of them has done anything stupid since they’ve been employed by the NFL (Fairley can’t say that!) None of the has had a whole fan base question whether they’re a team player or not (Newton can’t say that!). And AJ has achieved greater sucess than Newton in the NFL (guess who was drafted higher?). And Houston has achieved way more than Fairley (guess who was drafted WAY higher?). As I’ve mentioned in an earlier blog, I don’t want ANY great SEC player to flop in the NFL. But the sad truth is that two of the above mentioned players did NOT get good character and humility lessons from their coaches in college and it is sure enough showing in the NFL!

Grantham made a choke sign against a Florida kicker who was about to attempt a game winner. Not his best moment but he was disciplined for it, apologized, and moved on. With Franklin, he was defending his players against a loud mouth who’s since gone on to prove he’s a d-bag with just about every team they play. He’s also not the head of the team so it’s not an equal comparison. Why don’t you bring up a team trainer that posted insulting comments on Facebook as well?
Also, your assertion that somehow Chizik was confused and wasn’t following the game as just the right moment to miss all of Fairley’s thuggery is laughable. If he’s that oblivious during a game, he should be fired for that alone. It’s also worth noting that he never made any attempts to discipline him or apologize for the incident.
It takes little intellect and lack of a good argument to insult someone instead of just stating your own case. You’ve met both criteria quite nicely.

7576,
I know what you mean about the defense. It is pretty good … just had some breakdowns yesterday because the offense did put them in some bad situations. I think the D is going to be pretty good for a few years.
I remember back in the late 1980s when D ruled at Florida. That was the only thing that won games and a guy No. 22.
I had a chance to go to Mayport Friday night with my 7-year-old daughter and watch the Gators play Georgetown on the USS Bataan, then traveled to Gainesville to watch the game yesterday. Just to spend the weekend with my wife and daughter, even if the Gators had lost to Louisiana-LaFayette, it would not have put one damper on my weekend.
As much as I love sports and the Gators, there are certainly a whole lot more important things in life.

The poll is a moot point anyway as we’ll work it out on the field. Be that as it may though, with the shellacking we took in Columbia, at this point, I don’t think we deserve to be the top ranked one-loss team in the country. Beat Bama and win the SEC, then we’ll deserve it.

Geoff…whatever dude I didn’t say that’s what happened with chizik I said we don’t really know and its possible he at the time didn’t realize they were late. Regardless, I believe uga had just as many if not more personal fouls in that game so what are you talking about anyway. The first hit was late no doubt but that one on murrays knee was questionable. What’s ugas response? To tackle our running back and start throwing puches. You guys are hilarious. If you really think chizik should have apologized for those hits perhaps you should join a pee wee league.
You defend grantham way more than I defend chizik. I’m aware there are problems at auburn but you guys are clueless. Uga has plenty off off the field issues and richt is a coddler too. You guys don’t know jack about football either. Just a few weeks ago same people in here talking about firing richt. Now you stroll through 2 seasons with a weak schedule and are going to beat alabama. Ha.

@ Jailyard Dwag,
Let’s apply a different set of circumstances and see where THAT leaves us – Alabama is 5th in the SEC, behind UGA, who beat UF, who beat LSU, who beat Texas A&M, who beat your Tide (at home, no less). Funny how meaningless all that becomes when factors that aren’t favorable to the Tide are applied. It’ll become even more meaningless when/if UGA and Bama meet in the SECCG. Then we’ll all know for sure who the SEC Champion is. That’s why they play the games.

Bad dawg get a clue. Bama lost because they played a mobile quarterback and a talented team. Uga has lived off beating weak teams for 2 years. Anytime they face someone good they lose. Bama will win by 20 against uga. Don’t be delusional. Saban eats pro offenses for breakfast. Uga will be lucky to score 17. Uga defense isn’t as good as numbers suggest either. Mainly racking up stats on poor offenses. Bama will pound uga all night and murray will have another deer in headlights night.

Well, it’s good to see that the south’s oldest rivalry is still as heated as ever. Auburn is having a terrible season, so I would have been totally shocked if UGA didn’t beat them. It will be interesting to see how you do in the SEC Championship game against Alabama. I hope you will win that game, and enjoy the BCS Bowl bid that it brings.
Note to AJ (or should I say Thomas Brown), however: being a one-loss SEC champion does not automatically punch your ticket to the BCS Championship game. I know that recent history suggests that, but it simply isn’t true if there are three undefeated schools ahead of you who are automatic BCS qualifiers. Sorry to burst your bubble. The best argument UGA would have had for that would have been that they knocked off Florida when they were number 2 and Alabama in the SEC Championship game when they were number 1. Unfortunately, that won’t happen now, as Alabama will fall in the BCS standings, and the bounce from beating number 1 the last week of the season simply won’t happen. And your comment that UGA will beat Alabama even more easily that Texas A&M did because you have a mobile quarterback in Aaron Murray tells me that you are either blind or ignorant. “Johnny Football” is a very gifted athlete, and he showed that against Alabama yesterday. He has, potentially, three years after this year to play. If he continues to develop, he will be a much better quarterback than Murray by the time he’s a senior.

That is what aggravates me the most. The SEC will settle it on the field between the fourth and fifth place teams. No argument or complaints.
Not so with Oregon, Kansas State and especially Notre Dame. The only way they will get by the SEC is to not play them. The SEC doesn’t want to avoid any team. Match Notre Dame, Kansas State and Oregon with any of the top 6 SEC teams. Then if you win I can live with that.
What make you nearly throw up is when you see a third ranked team like Notre Dame beat in OT a 4-6 Pittsburgh and beat a 2-8 Boston College team only 20 to 6. Notre Dame should be beating these two teams 40 or more point this late in the season if they deserved a number 3 ranking.

Oregon will have to play a title game in the PAC12. KSU will not because of the defections of several teams. Hardly their fault. ND, I agree with you. That’s the whole point of the video. The dirty play by Auburn that was celebrated by the coaching staff including Chizik was by and large ignored by the refs. That was the point that Richt made to the officials at the end of the game. When the refs don’t make an effort to control the game by calling those fouls, the players get frustrated and things can go downhill quickly.

Geoff if you must know its a trap game any time your qb is crying from a win the week before. They put so much work in to beat lsu its hard to come home and play a fast and hungry totally different offense the next week like texas am. Make sense?

Yes that qualifies as a trap but so does mine. A trap game is any time you get a team at a crucial time in the schedule. It doesn’t matter how that team is doing. For example you guys keep saying this texas am team couldn’t beat florida. If they played next week you honestly think florida would win? They lost in week 2 I believe. They are better now and florida looks to be struggling some. It was a dangerous game for bama after lsu. You’re crazy if you think otherwise.

I read on another article that Florida only beat A&M because they played them earlier in the year……and Bama lost to A&M because they are a lot better now. RESPONSE:
1. Florida was no more experienced than A&M in game #2 either.
2. A&M did to Florida what they did to Bama in the first half….with the difference being that A&M could not continue doing to Florida in the second half that they did to Bama in the second half.
3. Florida played A&M in front of the 12th MAN…..and won. Bama played A&M in their house…..and lost.
I am not sure what Georgia would do vs. A&M…..they did not play them. But I know what Bama did vs. A&M….and what Florida did vs. A&M…….and I know that Bama struggled more vs. LSU than Florida did.
So……I have come to the conclusion……that Georgia has a better team than Bama and should be ranked higher than Bama. I also think Florida should be ranked higher than Bama as well. Tell me why they should not be ranked higher…..based on production this year. If Florida beats FSU….then Florida and Georgia both should jump Bama in the BCS poll……before the SEC title game. But we all know that will never happen.

Bill, you said “Murray took a beating from some Georgia fans after horrible games against South Carolina and Florida”:
While I agree that Murray had a horrible game against South Carolina and an equally horrible 1st half against the Gators, you have to admit that Murray had a better 2nd half against the Gators as he led the Dawgs down the field for the touchdown that caused the Gators to need a touchdown and 2 point conversion just to tie the game.
When Alabama QB A.J. McCarron had a horrible game against LSU, but lead the Tide to the winning touchdown to win the game, he was hailed as a “winner” and a “champion” for that last drive alone, regardless of how bad he played for most of the game. Why can’t we Dawg fans feel the same about our QB?
Sure, Murray had a bad game against the Gamecocks, but name one UGA player that didn’t. All I’m saying is that we’ve got the best QB in the SEC. Let’s appreciate him while he’s still here. I’m sure that if he went down that most Dawg fans would be wishing that he was still in the game. Just something to think about.

Bama is “country club” material to ESPN and they will spend the next 4 weeks trying to figure out how to ” arrange” them to be in the big game. Just watch. Losing to Dawgs would really screw things up, and when they play, a little air will be out of Bama’s pride.

U are right about ESPN not wanting the Dawgs. Neither does the BCS it seems. Oregon, ND, K State and Bama will all have to lose TWO games before they will consider us.
It has to be because CMR won’t go to the “shoe show” with them. Or maybe it is because Vince Dooley sued the NCAA and made it possible for every conference and institution to make their own TV deals. Or maybe we spend too much money when we travel to a bowl.
Anyway, we need to control what we can and that is getting ready for Georgia Southern, go to class and remain eligible, and stay as healthy as possible.

TalaDawg – all I disagree with is that I want CGC to stay there. As much pressure as he is under there is no telling how much he will cheat and disgrace Auburn. Then the regents and president will step up and quit letting the boosters and fans run things and clean it up.
As far as Cam, the reason people continue to take shots is the fact that AU showed no solidarity.
When a SEC institution expels a player for theft by taking then the whole conference should respect that and honor the expulsion. Not saying that a kid doesn’t deserve a second chance, just not in the SEC. LSU (Mettenberger) should take note of that too. I can’t think of an example of UGA getting a kid that had been kicked out of a member school. No need for SEC to make a rule, that is just the way that men with intergrity and class do things.

The Bama loss was the worst thing that could happen to those Bama will play the rest of the season. Bama has been playing with so much pressure not to lose that the team was playing way to tight and I don’t think they really enjoyed much of what the had accomplished. Give A&M and there QB all the credit for playing almost a perfect game. I love the tampon gator talking about how good his team is the beat the crap out of ULL in the alst 2 seconds. Really give it a rest sport and enjoy the tidy bowl you will get.
UGA will not beat Alabama. Don’t get lost in what Johnny Football can do with what Murray can do. Bama is setup as a down and distance team with personal and the spread gives us so much trouble over and over. UGA doesn’t matchup well vs Alabama and you ain’t LSU.

DawgNole,
I’ve come to the conclusion that my Gators could beat any team in the country if the offense shows up. That said, they could lose to about half the teams in the country when the offense doesn’t show up…which is becoming more frequent. I am simply amazed that we have a 9-1 record at this juncture. Speaks volumes about the defense and special teams. If we had a better o-line and at least one WR that could consistently get some separation and not drop the ball, we would be scary good. Alas, we do not.

I see that tom, an Auburn fan, is still carrying the water for Alabama. As a UGA alumnus, I have no such allegiance for our in-state rival, Ga Tech. But since tom wants to hypothesize about what Alabama will do to the Dawgs, I’ll play along with the game, too. Here goes: the multiple – named Ga Tech Yellow Jackets/Ramblin’ Wreck/Engineers would have their way this year with the similarly nickname-confused Auburn Tigers/War Eagles/Plainsmen. Despite playing in the mediocre ACC, GT has done more than beat two teams from non-BCS conferences, one of which (New Mexico State) sports a 1-9 record and the other (La Tech) has a 6-4 record that counts the OT loss to Auburn as their closest defeat of the season. I’d say that maybe Ga Tech and Auburn could settle this in a bowl game, but the Tigers aren’t going to the postseason, are they? I guess that freed tom up enough to find his new favorite team. Personally, I’d wait until after Auburn had completed their season before turning my back on them, but maybe this is how Auburn fans roll.

We’ll find out who is better, UGA or Alabama, IF the Tide gets past Auburn. But your assertion that A&M is a better opponent than anyone the Dawgs have faced in the last 3 years completely lacks objectivity, and is based only on the fact that Bama got beat by them. I have had many come up to me and make comments literally on the street bc I had on a Georgia shirt. Only this year have they finally shut up, and that’s ONLY because they have zero to be mouthy about. So, before you make remarks about UGA fans, look at your own fans. Rude and obnoxious doesn’t begin to describe it. As far as your coach, he seemed classy until two years ago. He and his arrogant QB Cam Newton proved to be a perfect match. Tampa Gator,
You have not been right all year, your oversized UF Gator ego has been deflated and defunked all year after your post have proven to be overstatements. UF is a very very very weak offensive team that UGA struggled with because of the defense that UF played against them. Even Kevin Sumlin has stated that during the last 4 week that they were able to add about 30 more plays to their game plan since the LSU game. I know you want to figure out how to make your UF Gators look more attractive but it is not happening, After getting spanked for 59:50 seconds last saturday against a very very poor LLa team and with FSU waiting to embarrass UF and the SEC in two weeks we will all have to wait till signing day to listen to your over the top post about your Gators.
Kingdaddy puppy lover, I guess you fall into the same category as Tampa Gator except for the UGA puppy side of the aisle. The way you brag and speak anyone without knowledge would think that UGA had been a national contender for 10 plus year and won multiple BCS titles. 1980 is all you need to post. Try as you might and spin it, but without an overranked UF which is going to fall, a USC team without Lattimore will have to fight very hard to beat Clemson, what teams has UGA actually beat that would be considered a Big Boy 2012 program? That is right. The SEC is strong with UGA and without UGA, teams like LSU, Alabama, Florida during Urban and Spurrier, Tennessee under Fulmer, Auburn on the Blip Cam Newton run, have carried this conference and you do not have a (excuse the pun) a dog in the hunt. UGA has been on the outside looking in as EVERYONE listed above carried the banner to prop up the UGA name and program due to association in the Conference. The facts are UGA has NOT carried it’s weight and has been a tag-a long program and have underachieved like no other program in the country laiden with enough talent during that time to field a complete NFL team.
The truth hurts and the pain will grow even larger once the loss in the SECCG hits UGA fans right across the snout and you and many of your over the top dog fans who do not know how to say thank you to your SEC brothers will have to go wimpering off to the dog house to lick your wounds and make more excuses while speaking how really good your dogs were!

I hate having to root for Lane Kiffin and USC, but I have no choice. I’ll have to do some form of penance, but if they beat Notre Dame it’ll be worth it. Same goes for Texas against Kansas State, and/or Stanford, Oregon State, and possibly USC (again) against Oregon. Only 2 of the three undefeated teams need to fall for UGA to play for the BCS title provided the Dawgs can control their own destiny with Bama. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for these scenarios to play out, that’s for sure. Ask LSU in 2007, when they needed all kinds of help, and ultimately got it.

Comparing the Dog team that beat A&M in 2009 is so laughable. Did not that entire coaching staff get fired after last season. Please name a team outside of UF that UGA has beaten in the last 3 years that meant something as in a top 15 team? Four Year? Five Years?
Enjoy this overstated 1 loss season because whether you like it or not, avoiding the other big boys around the league ends in 2013 and the multiple loss seasons will continue.

UF and Bama have the same record at 9-1. They have played 2 common opponents and UF is 2-0 in those games while Bama is 1-1. UF’s defense CAN play and stop a spread offense, while Bama cannot. Bama’s offense is decidely better but so is UF’s special teams. What makes you think that Bama is head and shoulders better than the Gators? All you NERDS posting how we won’t beat Alabama and played cupcakes
___________________________________________________________
As you can see, I saw right through your posts. I knew you were a nerd, didn’t I bob smith ?
As soon as you said it Sunday morning that The SEC is a “so-called POWER CONFERENCE” I knew you were an ACC Georgie tek fan. Thank you for admitting it.
Now, about the so-called power conference statement bob smith, I offered up that
The SEC in BCS today :
# 4 Alabama
# 5 Georgia
# 6 Florida
# 7 LSU
# 8 Texas A & M
# 9 South Carolina
bob smith, well ?
How does one determine a “so-called power conference” by your posts or by the polls ?
By what YOU SAY, ashamed to put bob smith Georgie tek or
bob smith GT
By what YOU SAY bob smith, or the truth of the matter ?
Do you really think The SEC is NOT THE POWER CONFERENCE ?
Tell us all bob smith ?
Did you go to Georgie tek to provide such proof of your intelligence ?
(1) Did you attend Georgie tek ?
(2) Is SEC “The” Power Conference 2012 with 6 of top 9 BCS ?
(3) Is Florida a bad football team ?
(4) Or, has FL beat # 7 LSU, # 8 Texas A&M, & # 9 South Carolina ?
You see bob smith ?
A man of intelligence would look at your words bob smith and state this biased so-and-so should have the manhood to grow a pair and put his team’s allegiance in his handle to state that

The SEC is NOT “The” Power Conference 2012
_______________________________________
Basically, in its root form, what you did bob smith was to take my entire POINT about UGA 2012, read it, and
TWIST IT ALL AROUND saying what IS TRUE, isn’t.
First, that our Win over Florida is NOT A GREAT WIN, when it is according to the polls and when it is according to whom it is they have beat and whom it is they have lost to. In other words bob smith your opinion compared to the collective opinions of the college football world 2012, in which you are 100 percent directly in juxtaposition with.
And, second that The SEC is not in-fact according to everyone, again bob smith – not your opinion to the contrary, “The” Power Conference again 2012.
Ok, so we beat up on each other. So what ? That’s what MAKES The SEC “The” Power Conference.
You know, bob smith ?
You know too, bob smith, for a football team who did not beat the # 6 team in the nation with 9-1 record ranked themselves # 6 in the BCS including wins themselves of the # 7, # 8, , & # 9 teams 2012, and in a conference so lousy that all you can muster about The SEC is that it is a so-called conference, our coach has beat your butts 10 of the 11 times he has faced you and will again 50-9 with your not top 25 offense and # 68 defense.
You get any of that ?

No. It was inevitable that Alabama would lose to Texas A&M and Johnny Football with all their freshmen at key positions 2012, and with the fact that Alabama does not have a good a win 2012 as we do, along with the fact that no team in the history of college football has done better against Alabama than we have.
It was supposed to happen just this way, as I guaranteed repeatedly for a long-time, that Johnny Football would both pass over and run through Alabama.
___________________________________________
# 5 UGA (# 4 in Coaches’ Poll) will play # 4 Alabama while the best wins by Oregon, Notre Dame and Kansas State are over # 21 in that last BCS Poll. We would have wins over # 4 Florida and # 6 Alabama in that poll. If the DawgNation could make this point to the college football world, we would have a chance for a bump-up while they did not beat ANY team compared to EITHER # 4 Florida then or # 6 Alabama then at that time. I am not bothered by this scenario at all. We’ve got it going on.

If Georgia’s offense was so inept against Florida I-95, why did Aaron Murray game-manage Todd Gurley to the running TD to take the lead 7-0 and then try Todd Gurley again late in the 4th quarter for the Win, when Aaron Murray had to put this team on his considerable shoulders and will us to the win by the strength of his arm, only to put away Florida, while you say our Defense is not that great, note please that Florida SCORED NO TOUCHDOWN to match our TWO (2) Touchdowns ?
That doesn’t make sense I-95. I-95 you’ve said a lot of correct posts during the season, but harping on Florida game as a BAD GAME for UGA because it was

I have not liked one thing about the turkey buzzards since I was a UGA freshman in 1957. All you ever heard was that AU spirit and how they cheered win or lose. Gag. Chizik’s behavior in 2010 left a bad taste in UGA fans mouth. I am here to tell you that taste has been around for as long as this series has been going on. Perfectly good comment by BullDogMike that Florida did not even score a single TD against Georgia, but that Florida had beat LSU.
Making the point that LSU is NOT as good a win as Georgia’s win over Florida. And, making the point that Alabama does not have as good a win over # 7 LSU as Georgia has over # 6 Florida.
Then, this self-righteous self-appointed Internet guru DawgNole re-posts the whole entire post and instead of talking about THE POINT which is that Alabama does NOT have as good a win as Georgia has over Florida. That’s the point of the post.
DawgNole runs in here, completely reprints the whole entire post of BullDogMike and replies to BullDogMike that BullDogMike is wrong that Alabama didn’t lose to Florida this year, which BullDogMike never said.

Nikki : “Yes you guys are definitely better at football no doubt about that but comparing a university located in VA to one located in GA…now that makes me laugh.”
What is a gal in here in The Georgia Bulldogs’ Football blog doing from Arlington Virginia when you have a grand total of 694 wins all-time in football compared to our 756 wins ?
You played in the Big East and jumped ship to the ACC – the 2 last worst conferences in football.
And, still only have 694 wins ?
We have seen what you know about Academics having your say about Academics, telling us we cannot talk about Academics with Virginia Tech, until I provided you the URL Link.
Sobering, ain’t it Nikki ?
So, go ahead.
Let’s talk football.
Oh, I have been.
Sorry about that.
You come up on the short-end of the stick on BOTH topics.
Got anything else you’d like to discuss Nikki, since your re putation as a university is LOUSY compared to UGA Nikki – so much so that you are wholly unable to click the URL Link provided. Yet, you look down your nose at us academically – utterly amazing.
I wouldn’t try that on anyone else Nikki – makes you laugh indeed that UGA is far superior to Virginia Tech in every manner possible.

Back to the topic, Auburn is getting just what it deserves. Have your boosters and members of state government sell there souls for some top JC recruits and a National Title and karma will eventually catch up with you. I don’t feel sorry at all for Chizik nor the powers in the plains. This is a well deserved wake up call to them. I will have a toast the day Chizik and that loser Trooper Taylor are canned. Donnan of a new era
If we win the SEC and get left out of the BCS, it will be a travesty of justice. Last 6 BCS champions come from the SEC. Until the playoff system comes in, UGA can only control the games it plays in. If we beat Bama and Florida in the same year, it will be two great wins and we will be SEC Champs.

We all must take those rankings with a grain of salt but until fairly recently UGA was nowhere close. Institutions in VA and the northeast have been high in those rankings for many years. HOPE has given UGA some better studnets; however, we all know grades are being inflated in high schools all across GA due to HOPE. So once again those rankings may be a bit tainted. More lies. As I’ve already pointed out to you, lamebrain, my post questioning the gators was made in early Sept–after they struggled against Bowling Green. And as you very well know, I did not use Mizzou’s team as a “measure for UGA 2012.” I said the environment up there for their first SEC game (vs UGA) would be hostile–and indeed it was.
