Pessimism reigns by Georgia fans about Florida game (video added)

Remember how high optimism was about Georgia football before this season? Well, that seems to have eroded.

The recent loss to South Carolina, several unimpressive victories – including the latest win at Kentucky — and a perceived talent-loaded defense that hasn’t nearly lived up to expectations has led to many Georgia fans expecting the worst when the Bulldogs face Florida in Jacksonville next Saturday.

Who will win the Georgia-Florida game?

How do I know this? Because when I relayed via Twitter that Florida was anywhere from a 3½ to 4½ point favorite at most sportsbooks, the responses could all be reduced down to these three words: “Is that all?”

In fact, as I type this, I have yet to find a reader who would take that bet (Georgia plus the points).

Georgia is 3-8 against Florida under Mark Richt, including last year’s win. But Florida is 7-0, ranked No. 2 in the BCS standings and destroyed South Carolina 44-11.

On Betonline.com, the Gators opened as 3½ point favorites, the line dropped to 3, then went up to 4½. Vegasinsider.com lists the consensus line at 3.5. The Las Vegas Wynn opened with Florida at 4½ and it went up to 5.

Here is the early feedback on the point spread. Feel feel to weigh in below with your thoughts and I’ve put up a simple poll question: Does Georgia win or lose?

Your responses on Twitter

“That ain’t enough Jeff. It should be at least 7.5.” — @pierceoutlaw

“If I was going to bet, I’d bet on Fla.” — @wrigmuff

“Should be 21.” — @johnarwinhart

“They know something we don’t I reckon.” — @J_T_Hoffman

“Depends on if the determined to prove themselves Dawgs show up or the i’m down with whatever the hype says Dawgs show up!” — @GeorgiaGunOwner

“I agree. I’d say gators by 10. I’m a Dawg fan. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst like most Cocktail Party endings.” — @NikkiFree

“How often are the guys in and around Vegas are wrong? Personally, I do think it is low.” — @vsu96sdd

“Surprised it’s not 14.” — @jltdawg

“If we only lose by 4.5 I’ll be very happy. Another SC performance and its time for a change.” — @bulletstheman

“Could be that Vegas still doesn’t know what to make of the Florida offense and their inconsistent play.” — @DavidMaldridge

“If UGA can avoid costly turnovers, they should be able to keep it close.” — @MattBankston

“UGA grad here and I’d have the line at least 7.5.” — @VinylmationKing

“Umm have you been watching this year?” — @ChandlerRDB

“When we beat Kentucky by just 5 points, we know we are going to get blown out in Jacksonville.” — @TylerBurgess

“Really surprised it’s not at least a touchdown. I thought 10 or so.” — @jbcincy512

“Dogs will be crushed like a bug by the gators.” — @rbray1

• “Good for the Dawgs. Vegas is dangling that small spread so people will jump on FL.” — @TheJoeyBrowning

• “Sadly, with how unfocused/underperforming Dawgs are this year, 2012 game has 2008 potential. Grantham sold us a Monorail.” — @SideshowRhett

• “Should be gators by 14.5 the way the dawgs defense has been playing. #fromadawgfantoo” — @Zack_H_Martin

• “I think Florida should be -7 but Vegas wants people to bet both sides of that -4.5. #godawgs” — @KoodenAaron

• “UGA fan here. I would’ve guessed Fla -6.5. Wouldn’t take the dawgs at +7.” — @Hookey12

• ” What’s the over/under? I think it needs to be 7.5, but I could see them winning 42-35. They will hang 35+ on our D.” — @Litigatingdawg

• “It’ll be bet up closer to -4.5 or 5 by Saturday.” — @ParrishWalton

• “Casinos are smart & in the business of making money. They made the line low so people will bet on #UGA, the sure loser.” — @UGABugKiller

• “I had it around -9 for florida. UGA’s d can’t stop anyone. Only solid Defensive effort was vs Vandy.” — @JDB426

Let’s see… SC beat UGA by 28, and Fla beat SC by 33, so 33+28= 61, so Fla should be favored by 61. With THAT line, I’d take the dawgs…

Seriously, I would be surprised if Ga stays within 14, especially the way their defense has played, but Florida’s offense hasn’t been impressive, either. However, our only chance is to jump out to a lead and force Florida to play catch up.

Call me crazy, but Florida’s offense isn’t that impressive, in my opinion when both play at their best, ours takes the cake. What worries me offensively is our offensive line play. Defensively, we are just as talented if we’d only play like it. Florida’s D unlike ours looks hungry and determined to get after the qb. If by some miracle our D learns how to play as a cohesive unit as they did last year when they were a top 5 D I think we’ll keep it close. But we HAVE to show up and stay hungry. Also, UF’s special teams are nice, while ours need to work on properly fielding punts. If a last chance at an SEC title doesn’t get these boys motivated, IDK what will. We have the talent, Murray, defense, and special teams need to show up and we should have a good game on our hands!

The only way UGA wins is if Florida can do something tobdropbfrom the rankings between now and Saturday. UGA finds away to fold versus top 20 teams. We haven’t won against one since 2008. UGA would have a better chance if they forfeited.

Anything can happen in a football game. If we start well, we might have a chance.

Our D is nowhere near SC’s D. I know that there were some serious problems with turnovers, but I think UF would have beat SC without the turnovers.

I think the UGA and UF offenses are about even, but UF has a much better D than UGA. I’d say they beat us handily, that is by more than 10. IF GA turns it over, it could get real ugly. Muschamp seems to teach them to go for the ball and seems to get results. UF Special teams are better than GA’s, but then whose aren’t.

come on kids!!!! It’s a rivalry game with Florida coming off 3 weeks of emotional highs. Talent level is similar and florida has not faced a tough balanced team this year. If UGA can run and get into play action with the TE’s its a wide open game. I suspect UGA will come out with their hair on fire. If not, then it may be it for Richt. Which is blessing for you guys too. Either way it’s Florida-Georgia week, get in the game!!

Dawgs win by 13; precisely, 37-24. UF has no Clowney, Adam will have time to throw, we’ll stack the line to stop the run, and Driskel won’t come through. So let it be written; so let it be done.

UGA 27 UF 24

1. Florida can score but they cannot drive.
2. UGA’s lame defense can make big plays but they cannot shutdown an offense for a sustained period of time (unless it’s Vandy).

UGA will win an ugly game because at the end of the day they are a better team top to bottom but UF appears to be all in under Muschamp.

One fanbase will be sick Saturday night because of the way their team loses. The other fanbase will be thankful that they survived the meat of their conference schedule with Atlanta waiting.

UGA will go up late and the defense will finally show up for a big stop after all the sloppiness.

UGA fans are worse than Braves fans. They are so delusional they believe the team should never lose and win a championship every year. If not, mentality is to fire CMR, Bobo and criticize the players. Team wins against Kentucky, moves up to 12 in AP poll then the fans say they don`t have a chance against Florida. What is wrong with you people? Be thankful for what you have.

There you go Devil! I think it comes down to physicality. Can UGA match Florida’s physicality at the point of attack. I have been underwhelmed by UF’s offense all year but the one thing they are doing consistently on both lines is mauling their opponents. On every play they are coming off the ball to hit the other player. UGA is more talented offensively but florida will try to negate that by bullying them and hitting the skill players. And ideally they want to break the teams will to play by the fourth quarter. LSU was the prime example. Even though the score was 14-6, that game was practically out of reach. UGA has to match the physicality all 4 quarters.

Georgia will need 6-7 turnovers to make this game close. Trust me, they are NOT man enough to stay on the same field with Florida (after the first series). They lack serious manhood. Regardless of gimmicks Georgia will try, if Florida doesn’t turn the ball over at least 7 (or 8 times) Georgia will self destruct. Florida will more than cover trust me. 51-3 (38-0 at half time).

You’re not crazy, Elizabeth. UGA’s offense is vastly more balanced than UF. The difference this year has been the passion displayed by the gators (and from my observation, perhaps a lack of passion by UGA)and knowledge that they WILL dominate the 2nd half. This team is superbly conditioned and doesn’t seem to let anything faze them. As a gator fan, I love to think back to preseason when all the dog fans were laughing about Muschamp not being able to coach. it took a year to get the bad character/attitudes that many of Meyer’s recruits had and to get the rest of the team to buy into Muschamp’s vision. I’m amazed how quickly CWM has suceeded. I didn’t think it would be possible, but this year’s defense so far has been better than the 2006 version that limited Ohio state to 86 total yards in the national title game. The joy is back in Gainesville-hopefully at least another week.

I quit being fooled by this clown led football program last year after the boise state game. UF wins this game big and we get humilated once again in Jacksonville. Richt will go on to get his 10 wins and comes back next season to steal 3 million more dollars. It’s like a GD broken record that never quits playing. He wins just enough for our short sighted leaders to bring him back for one more go around. When will it end?

How to bet college football: first, assume the line is essentially correct and then look for the emotional edge. Look for a team which is coming off a big win playing against a team which is coming off a sub-par effort. Bet on that team to rebound (we’re human beings; we’re up and we’re down). And that means only one thing:

Pick Georgia.

Oh gee, what a surprise. Another GA team not meeting expectations. When have we seen this before? Oh excuse me, a quicker way to answer that would be “when haven’t we seen this before?” because the answer there would be “never.”

This state is trash when it comes to sports, and I’m just waiting for the Falcons collapse. When will it happen this year? No one cares about 6-0, you just know they will choke. They have won many games via chance/luck rather than talent. FML for being a sports fan and being born in this hellhole.

P.S. As a sports writer covering GA sports, do you have pre-made “choke” templates for GA’s various teams? It’s fait accompli they will choke, screw up, and never win a championship, so I can’t see why you wouldn’t. You could write these stories before the game, not even watch them, and be correct, so no practical reason not to.

If we can’t stop florida from running the ball it will be a LONG DAY in Jax but we haven’t stop anyone all year so I don’t expect anything will be different with our defense.Lets pray we can keep the game close & not get blown out.Our offense won’t get much done against that defense so our only hope is to have a low scoring game but they have a big advantage in special teams. Go Dawgs

The only WAY Georgia has a chance is to not turn the ball over and solid special teams play, with that said, Florida 43-17. When Murrey is pressured, he’ll panic, and the defense has holes everywhere. This Florida team is relentless on defense {Muschamp style}, and has a good enough offense to make you pay for turning it over.

Nobody is gonna bet on GA to win….unless they are brain dead. Do we have a chance? I mea, do we realistically have a chance? Yes, IF:
1. A meteor hits Muschamps house
2. The whole team eats some bad shrimp and all get sick.
3. Saban can dress up like CMR and coach GA
4. Ga plays above any and all expectations.

NO, we don’t have a chance. Not a single chance in this world! Oh how I would love to eat these words next week!

I have read these blogs for years and don’t comment very often. I see anti-Richt posts and I’ve refused to side with them but after last night I’m now on the get rid of Richt bandwagon. Of ALL the things that makes me mad about this team and it’s not Theus getting killed at right tackle or causing multiple false start penalties(which makes me want to scream bloody murder), it’s OUR KICKER MISSING PAT’s. How can you miss a PAT? He was recruited highly out of high school. Scott Howard actually got giddy with glee when Morgan banked the field goal in. It’s a joke. He’s really the best we have? Lindley can’t make a PAT? Blair Walsh had a bad year but you could count on him for the extra point. Its time to recruit another kicker. My G-d what a joke.

CMR is 2-15 against teams that have finished ranked, my son wrote me. Yes, the Dawgs have beaten Florida, but only in Gator off years. CMR is a fine man that might be better suited as a pastor, actually. However, as a football coach, his teams choke. LSU last year outscored them 35-0 in the 2nd half. Alabama beat them 30-0 in a first half, a most obvious example of coaching talent. UGA rolled over a died 35-7 against a USC team that doesn’t appear to be among the SEC elite. How long can anybody deny that UGA under CMR sucks against good teams? Sucks just about EVERY game? Yes, can beat up on cripples, but rolls over and dies when the going gets tough.

He’ll have to pass. We won’t have but around 100 yards rushing…..and that will be on 35 attempts as Richt will refuse to abandon the run no matter how many times we’re stuffed and 3 and outs we have. We will attempt to pass on 3rd and long, and fla will blitz and it will work and we punt. This is too easy.

I think the initial optimism was warranted as is the current pessimism. At the beginning of the year, the defense was supposed to be a top 5 defense (if not better). The only questions about our team was the OL and the freshman RBs. So, with an experienced, effective QB and some talented WRs, the optimism was appropriate. Then the season started and the defense was replaced by members of Georgia State’s football team (or equestrian team). The offense has been as good as we could have expected, if not better. But to have the defense be the question mark on this team is very disconcerting, and thus the pessimism. Not to mention the general disappointment with the way Richt’s teams have played against top 10 teams the past 6 years. AND, the ingrained pessimism with this being the FLORIDA game. If you haven’t heard, wee’ve lost a few of these the games the past 2 decades.

On paper it doesn’t look good. But you don’t play on paper. If our D can do anything remotely like stopping the run then we have a chance. I think we can move the ball on Floriduh, especially with the pass. If special teams don’t kill us we have a chance. If we come out fired up, we have a chance. If Bobo can call a half decent game, we have a chance. Otherwise we don’t have a chance

Besides, after losing for so many years, why would anybody but habitual losers want to continue playing there? I mean, football jokes are sometimes cruel and wrong. Let’s stop the BS. The dawgs only chance of winning this game is if the entire starting Gator team were to come down with an epidemic of the flu or some other debilitating illness. Even then against their backups the dawgs would be even odds at best to win. We have a QB who has without failure choked in every big game he has played. There is absolutely no fight in that pathetic defense and don’t even get me started on our choking staff, I mean coaching staff. You people are right. Florida’s offense is bad. Thing is, so was Buffalo’s and until South Carolina bitched slapped my dawgs around their offense wasn’t world beaters either. You’d have to give me the dawgs and at least 35 before I would even contemplate taking that bet. Anything less would be a suckers bet.

I mean look at it this way. UGA had everything to play for Saturday nite and Kentucky had nothing and the best these future pros could do was to hold on. Game will be history before halftime. Only good thing about this season is Spurrier won’t win it again.

I dunno who’ll win, but I just hope the players don’t come here and read the crap people say.

Based on the boards this weekend, the fans have given up on this team, which is 6-1 and has a top ten ranking. And if the fans have given up, why the devil should the players care? They’re expected to lose anyway (according to these boards), so why should they try?

And before people come out with a buncha BS, the fans’ perception of a team DOES influence that team.

I just know that in 2007, we got thumped by Tennessee on the road and skated by Vanderbilt before going to Jacksonville and beating a highly ranked Florida team. I don’t see why it can’t happen this year, too. Yeah, Florida’s good, but they’ve been on a real emotional high these past few weeks, which isn’t sustainable over the long run, and they’re probably letting things get to their heads a little bit.

So I think the Dawgs are in as good a position as any to get the win.

Will they do it? I dunno, but I’m not willing to give Florida the win until the game is actually played.

It’s a shame that the former strength of UGA has been…..I repeat, has been their defense. They appear to come to the game not ready to play. I place this squarely on the shoulders of TG. It’s his responsibility to get them ready and it ain’t happening. It’s OK to lose but they could at least make a showing. If he’s going to turn this thing around, now is the time to do it and finally gain some respect!

Question? Are the DAWGS going to go to Jacksonville to play? Their season is on the line!! It’s time to shock the world and especially the SEC and make Darth Visor throw his visor and stomp on it.

Wish that were true Rick James. What is there excuse for the debacle in Columbia, South Carolina? Fact is what is there excuse for most of the games they have played this season? I’ll be watching the game as I have all season and hoping that the team we were led to believe ,would be playing, will eventually show it. It won’t though. You won’t to know why? Because it already has. Go back to last season. LSU with a half arse decent offense beat the dawg defense like drum in the second half. Michigan State. Again a decent offense at best slapped the dawg defense silly in the second half. Heck we couldn’t even slow Vanderbilt down in the second half last season. Nope, last seasons second half break downs should have been a warning on what to expect this season. I bleed UGA red and have so for 45 years. I’ve seen some really bad teams in Athens but none with less heart. I’ve stood by Mark Richt through thick and thin up until the South Carolina game. I don’t care how UGA finishes the season. He needs to go and the sooner the better.

UGA will score some points as they are due to get some turnovers and Florida is due to have some. Every break in the books went Florida’s way last week. This will be a low scoring game on both sides because Florida will have at last two turnovers and UGA none. Say 10 – 7 at the half. Whoever scores the 1st TD will win the game. Florida has had two very physical games back to back and this is #3. UGA had a bye week and Kentucky. This time the 4th quarter will go to UGA.

—————————————————————————————————————————–
Like I said this is a bet for suckers..Oddsmakers are money makers not fans.If you think Florida will win by 21 points why would make the line 20? If Florida wins by 19 you lose right? I’m sure if Georgia had played South Carolina after they lost to LSU and had been at home there may have been a different outcome.Florida is good but not 33 points better than SC..This game wont be the blowout that most people and the fair weather Georgia fans think it will be..I know what’s next look at how Georgia played against SC.Its simple, when Georgia went up 27-10 they shifted in to low gear and had to fight for their lives to win.Tennesee really softened Georgia for SC and they came out flat.

3 1/2 to 4 1/2 is not the point spread, it is the number of uga players that are not expected to survive this beat down. Looks as though Florida will be ready to step up to the plate in a year or two and claim another nc as soon as lsu and bama start to slide. Will it ever be uga’s turn. Doubtful. As far as how Georgia played last night, I don’t know if I would put alot of stock in it. Sometimes teams play to their competition. I think the Dogs will be much better this week.

Red, were the leghumpers “playing to their competition” when they got assaulted by SC? Did they “play to their competition” when they let Tennessee score almost 50? Did bama “play to their competition” when they dismantled that same ut team last night? Did florida “play to their competition” when they destroyed SC last night? Seems uga is the only “elite” sec team that got the “play to the competition” memo.

Dogs will not win, I just don’t see it happening unless, we get Pollack, Tardits and Richard Seymour to come out and play. The last two weeks show UGA is a middle of the pack SEC team with A grade talent, too bad the coaching is C grade. I really would like to see them win, but the USC and Kentucky game has left a bad taste in my mouth. Even if we win, Alabama will embarrass us on national TV. So pick your poison. Every Las Vegas line I can find, shows us losing by 6 and a half or 6. Would any of us take 6 and a half points or 6 points ? $1,500.00 bet one of us made on Twitter in the article Jeff Schultz puts up. We’ve played one good game all season long : Vandie. Our special teams are bad at punting and Florida has great punting. Florida has great defense, and our Defense has never played a good game against a ranked opponent since Todd Grantham came here years ago.

All passes, punts, kick-offs, & runs Todd Gurley got 15 touches vs KY

# 59 Red Zone Defense
# 92 Turnovers Gained by our Defense
# 72 Rushing Defense
# 47 Total Defense
# 49 Scoring Defense
# 49 on 3rd Down Conversion Defense
# 41 First Downs allowed by Defense
# 82 in sacks of opposing Quarterbacks, no pressure

# 49 First Downs by our Offense
# 55 in sacks allowed, wow Aaron Murray really runs fast 4.81
# 94 Fewest Penalties per game
# 55 Turnover Margin as a team all 2012, too
# 40 Red Zone Offense
# 32 Turnovers Lost

# 109 Net Punting, walk-ons
# 62 Punt Returns, walk-ons
# 44 Kick-Off Returns, walk-ons telling Malcolm Mitchell not to return it
# 45 Kick-Off Returns Defense

All pre-season, all everyone could say about this game, bar none, was that we win, how bad Will Muschamp is as an animated coach on the sidelines and a traitor when he walked-on to Florida but Steve Spurrier did not meet with him, so he took our scholarship offer instead.

For the line to be so low at 6 and a half points or 6 points every bookie bar none, Las Vegas is betting on DISNEYdawgs.com to do what they always do, act like this is a home game for us, say they are taking the week off not even hoping to win – just make the game competitive.

2 ranked teams this 2012 season with Mark Richt having lost 16 of the last 18 games against teams who made the top 25 and having lost 14 of 17 games all 12 years of the Mark Richt era against teams who made the top 10.

DISNEYdawgs.com wanted Florida to win Saturday and now they are consensus # 2 in the nation, our bitter Rival, and frankly they look to run the table to play Alabama. Nice guys; really nice.

We do know 5 failed the NCAA Drug Test DURING Spring Practice, UGA89. Greg McGarity has allowed Mark Richt to NOT PUNISH the offenders by ANNOUNCING A SUSPENSION all off-season. Remember the off-season ? We had 30 kicked-off, transfer-out, forced-out, flunked-out, arrested, suspended who were scholarship players Mark Richt and Rodney Garner brought here. So, Mark Richt to control the BAD PRESS said he was NOT ANNOUNCING ANY SUSPENSIONS.

A kid who is SUSPENDED at the University of Georgia is BY POLICY supposed to be made an example of. His SUSPENSION can be private as to the reasons. His SUSPENSION can NOT be private.

This is an open records’ state. And, The University of Georgia has an ABSOLUTE WRITTEN POLICY covering SUSPENSIONS that they MUST BE MADE PUBLIC.

The object here is to PUNISH the offenders. To make an example of them.

Mark Richt purposely ATTEMPTED all off-season to COVER-UP for his recruits.

______________

SUSPENSIONS :

______________

(1) Safety Bacarri Rambo facing a four-game drug Suspension when announce

(2) Inside linebacker Alec Ogletree least one game drug Suspension when announce

(3) Cornerback Sanders Commings Suspended for two games hit girl

(4) Chase Vasser # 9 in the nation strongside LB, DUI 4 months ago, Suspended 2 games at least.

(5) Kolton Houston Suspended by NCAA violation

Only problem with that list is that we KNOW 5 failed the NCAA Drug Test during Spring Practice back in April 5 months ago, and we know that Greg McGarity said “ask Mark Richt; he’s the one who is holding back information of the Suspensions.” So, actually what we have available to play is 67 scholarship recruits plus one transfer-in minus Four (4) we know of and double that number who failed the NCAA Drug Test April.

It is a fair bet that the answer to your question is :

59

This is how we’re perceived :

Frankly, if you think about it, had Mark Richt announced SUSPENSIONS as he is supposed to and as Greg McGarity said : ask Mark Richt to, you have to include the 3 whom the Police Chief said no one at UGA called him regarding 3 stealing over $ 500 cash and other valuables.

THAT TOO, WAS KEPT SECRET BY MARK RICHT to minimize the off-season bad press. Had he done the right thing, and called the Police, he would have won the FULMER CUP again this off-season.

And, he walks off the field vs Kentucky, laughing it up. This has been a season from Hell all 2012.

I’m totally with you after the last few weeks but what I don’t understand is what was the big deal to announce Zander’s suspension? It’s not as if he is vital to the team.
I was mad when Richt stated that “it’s just one game, the sun will come up tomorrow”.
Did you see his twitter? “Geaux Tigers”. Hoping for other teams to help us.
What really took me over the edge was our defensive players taunting the Kentucky players and their sideline after 1st and 2nd downs and then giving up a long run for a first down. No discipline.

UGA89,

The big deal to announce Zander Ogletree’s HALF-SEASON SUSPENSION is the same big deal to NOT ANNOUNCE ANY OF THE OTHER SUSPENSIONS, nor to call the Police and turn in a police report on 3 of his scholarship recruits stealing over $ 500 cash and other valuables.

1. Kolton Houston SUSPENDED all 2011 and now 2012 too
2. Zander Ogletree SUSPENDED half a season, obviously other suspensions of his have been NOT ANNOUNCED either. They don’t have to tell us what the suspension is for; in fact, they cannot say what it is for; but, they MUST by UGA policy tell us SUSPENDED. Greg McGarity has ALLOWED Mark Richt this 2012 to HIDE ALL THIS FROM EVERYONE.
3. Alec Ogletree SUSPENDED 4 games
4. Sanford Seay RFR SE transfer Dream Team SUSPENDED, KICKED-OFF never called police
5. Chris Sanders SO 4-Star # 20 S 6’ 4.39 transfer Dream Team SUSPENDED, KICKED-OFF never called police.
6. Nick Marshall SO 4-Star # 15 CB transfer Dream Team SUSPENDED, KICKED-OFF never called police.
7. Chase Vasser SUSPENDED 2 games DUI, the DUI itself was KEPT HIDDEN for Five (5) months by Mark Richt. Excuse me, Mark Richt OWES that to us to tell us SUSPENDED, and to tell the team it is unacceptable. Instead, because it is a BIG DEAL UGA89, ALL THESE SUSPENSIONS, Mark Richt was allowed to HIDE THIS TOO for all that time. That’s NOT DISCIPLINE, as you say.
8. Bacarri Rambo SUSPENDED 4 games again Mark Richt TRIED to hide the severity of this tone too SO THAT HE WOULD NOT GET THE BAD PRESS I NOW HEAP UPON HIM for it all, now that I ALONE FIGURED OUT ALEX OGLETREE is actually the 9th Mark Richt recruit SUSPENDED 2012, along with his 29 who TRANSFERRED-OUT.
9. Sanders Commings SUSPENDED 2 games for hitting a girl.

Do you think looking at the list now as we know it, that Mark Richt went into “LET’S KEEP THIS A SECRET; IF THIS ALL GETS OUT, IT WILL BE TONS OF BAD PRESS IN THE AJ-C.”

What do you think UGA89 ? It is a BIG DEAL ? That 9 Mark Richt scholarship recruits were SUSPENDED, not 4 as the press said, and that Mark Richt purposely tried to HIDE everything about the 9 he could, so no one would do what I have now done. Note please UGA89, this after I had already exposed the 29 transfers-out. Remember ? A writer took my list and accounted for all 29. Remember that ?

Everyone wants to sleep on the Dawgs. Remember – UF has everything to lose/gain by winning – UGA has nothing to lose in this game. Go Dawgs and hopefully Sunday we will all be happy. We shall see.

If The Dawgs win they go to The SECC Game v Bama. If they win they play for The BCS Title.

Florida will win by 28 points. Thought the SC Game was embarrassing? Wait until you see how Richt, Bobo and Granthan find yet another way to lose against a ranked team in a big way.

The Dawgs cannot beat Florida this year with Richt, Bobo and Grantham coaching and the players know it.

UGA is due to win a big one. Uga is supposed to lose this one. It will take a great plan by Bobo to help the young OL. it will take the defense rising up to their potential. The game is at a neutral site. Its winnable IF Bobo has a great game plan against their D. UGA WILL COME to play. The SEC championship game is on the line…FL wont have the crowd like SC did. OL should have learned some things agasint SC. I just hope the coaches did because FL is very similar to SC….time to go pray….

Where is the defensive “heat” on the opposing quarterback which last year’s team so often demonstrated? Even when we manage to penetrate into the backfield, it seems like the first man through misses the tackle! It’s time for our this “talented and unmotivated” defense to gel!

This is what we are in the Mark Richt era, you know ? I bet Mark Richt says he MUST go Thursday night again, to show that football is not all that is important, as he proves daily.

I expect Florida’s defense will stuff Georgia’s running game, make them one dimensional, bring the heat on Murray and have 3 or 4 picks as Murray throws his usual rockets 5 feet over the head of receivers down the middle of the field. That’s what he does when he’s hyped up for big games. If Keith Marshall plays much Florida will likely rip one or two away from him.

Muschamp is smart enough to play it close to the vest on offense, knowing that Georgia will crack under defensive and special teams pressure with turnovers like South Carolina did. And as we’ve seen from Richt’s teams of the last few years, if they get off to a bad start, they’ll hang their heads and get steamrolled. The Gators are going to pound it and play physical on offense, knowing that Georgia’s defense won’t be able to stand up to it for more than a half. As Saban says, dominate the guy you’re playing against on every play and make his a$$ quit.

The only chance Georgia has is to make some big plays early and get up by a couple of touchdowns. They’re frontrunners, don’t have the discipline and toughness to come back from an early deficit or hold their own in a 60 minute street fight, which is what it will take against this Gator team unless they uncharacteristically turn the ball over several times.

In one year, Muschamp has taken Florida from a team that was as soft as Georgia to a tough physical team in the mold of Alabama and LSU. It’s clear that Mark Richt isn’t capable of doing that with Georgia.

I’m not sure what to expect with this game. FL struggled against Vandy and TN wore them out for 3 qtrs until FL scored 14 points in less than a minute in the 4 qtr on fluke plays. If that FL team shows up, and the Ga team that played against Vandy shows up….then it could get interesting!!! I’m on your side. I’ve read these blogs long enough that I’ve seen your list of kids suspended and/or kicked off the team multiple times. It’s embarrassing. When those defensive players start taunting the other team, just once I’d like CMR to sit their butts on the bench for a few plays until they learn that it won’t be tolerated. I have season tickets, go to every UGA/Fl game as well as the bowl game every year. I’m fed up. I do not blame the students that egged A. Murray’s house. Enough is enough.

Been on this band wagon for three seasons now. Special team play far more important than what most fans think it is. Kentucky game was perfect example. We don’t have anybody capable to field punts. Most importantly knowing when to catch them and when to let them go. Kentucky pinned us deep several times with their punt team. And having kicker miss as many PAT’s as he has is crazy. Unlike the very successful SEC coaches, CMR’ chooses not to spend any time on special teams. This one small fact will once again beat us against a quality team. Book It !

It would be bucking a five-year trend if the Dawgs won on Saturday. You have to go back to 2007. That’s the last time UGA beat a big team in a big game.

The UGA brain trust will do what they do after the 2012 season ends. If there’s a silver lining anywhere to be found in this era of underachievement, they’ll continue find it. Coach Richt will get one more chance to right his ship.

But speaking as a life-long Dawgs fan – and member in good standing of WalMart Dawg Nation, I’ve seen enough of CMR. The program he’s put on the field 2008 – 2012 is the best he can do. If it’s good enough for Dawg Nation, then that’s just the way it is.

When you see a guy like Gary Patterson go to a place like TCU and put together a program he has out of two star at most players or Tuberville being release from Auburn and winning at Texas Tech, while Auburn has historic recruiting years and are a flop of all flops, the subject of talent is mute. “Been on this band wagon for three seasons now. Book It !”
______________________________________________________
Amen BullDogMike, and what did you think about walk-on Kosta Vavlas forcing Malcolm Mitchell not to return the kick-off against Kentucky in what was supposed to be a win by 28 and was instead a 5-point game ?

And, what about all the fair catches by Walk-On Merritt Hall on Kick-Offs with no one within 30-yards of him every time ?

And, what about the onside kick with 3:58 left Saturday afternoon against Kentucky when the ball did not go the 10-yards required and walk-on Connor Norman, who has been burned on every pass attempt all season long, runs up and jumps on the ball between 3 of the Kentucky players waiting for it to go the required 10 yards when it obviously quit rolling and was going only 9 yards ?

And, what about the missed field goal ?

And, what about the Aaron Murray failed 2-point conversion try ?

And, what about the field goal that bounced off the goal posts and went through for Mark Richt to walk-off the field laughing the way we’re playing on special teams ?

Or, the 70 yard punt return last week.

Or the :

# 109 Net Punting, walk-ons
# 62 Punt Returns, walk-ons
# 44 Kick-Off Returns, walk-ons telling Malcolm Mitchell not to return it
# 45 Kick-Off Returns Defense

Questions to be answered:
1) Will the team be ready to play? – Sounds funny, but you would think a big game they would be. Were they ready in the SCe game…. NO!
2) IF we are able to score points it has to be done in the 1st half. Will we be able to score any 2nd half points? Most teams have not against UF.
3) Will Jarvis Jones be close to 100%? Will his lay off from live action slow him down? – Without Jarvis playing all out at 100% it will be a long day. That defense needs it’s General.
4) I doubt it, but I will throw it out there anyway. Will UF be over confident after watching the past 2 games UGA played. I could not blame them if they are.
5) Is this the game the defense plays to their potential? Doubt it, because they are playing with no purpose and are always a step behind everyone else.

I’ll be pulling pulling for the Dawgs just as much as any other game, but even this Dawg knows that this team needs to play at an entirely different level to have a chance.

You’re not going to make any point about the fact that Mark Richt has not beat a team who made the top 10 since his wife was diagnosed with Cancer May 2, 2006, with good reason. 2006 was 7 seasons’ ago. Neat how you try to make that into what it’s not. It is what it is. And, it’s not what you said it is. As per usual for you. Good try to try to make that into something it’s not, by not even saying what I do say on the facts.

“There’s not a fieldgoal kicker in the NFL that can hit the goal post like our’s.”

That’s because when our kickers go to the NFL, they don’t miss. It’s just here. And, soon as they are drafted and on the team, their coach says, excuse me : Change this. Wait until the ball is snapped to move. Jeez Louise. We can’t teach kickers anything, here.

That’s why when the go the NFL, they set records. Here they FLOP.

Duh.

It’s coaching, not the kicker. Marshall Morgan makes 50-yarders and cannot punch it thru directly under the goal posts. Pretty obvious there, that it’s coaching again.

Special Teams’ coaching.

All we have is hope. That may sustain an innocent person in jail, but it’s no way to go into a game with an archrival who has owned you for the last two decades. Muschamp had to pick up the pieces of a program left in disarray by a burned out Meyer who somehow never got caught cheating, and in two years has it back among the elite teams in the country. Richt was brought here to beat FL. He did it regularly at FSU. Then again Bowden was the head coach. “What happens to all those 4 and 5 star recruits when they get to GA.” Richt refuses to change and upgrade, and Grantham is not an upgrade, especially when he has his sites set on a head coaching job elsewhere. Obviously the book is out on how to beat the 3-4. Muschamp brought in that outstanding OC from Boise. We have a promoted quarterbacks coach who the opposition appears to know his every tendency. A coach who can’t adapt and bring in the best and brightest gets left behind and eventually fades away, but still we hope.

Win this and Richt and the Dawgs get a huge repreive from the grief they constantly face. Regarding the Kentucky game, I think we call it “taking care of business” when we go out and destroy a 1-6 team by four touchdowns in the week prior to the Florida game. A confidence booster too. Unfortunately that didn’t happen so we have no idea where this team is at. Were we saving the running game for Florida? Was our defense preparing for Florida all week and wlaked through the Kentucky game? Who knows? I do know that this is the biggest game for Coach Richt and Aaron Murray that they will have in their careers. Win this and the goals for the year are indeed intact. Win this and the year is validated. Well here’s to hoping.

Mark Richt still hasn’t beat Alabama either.

We beat Alabama when they won 4 games all season. That doesn’t count.

kingdaddy picked on Alabama for losing to Louisiana Monroe. We beat Alabama that same year. That doesn’t count, according to kingdaddy. They were 7-6 and Mark Richt beat Alabama ? Hardly.

The other win Mark Richt has is in 2002. Perhaps you remember 2002 ? The only other SEC team to make the Coaches’ Poll Top 25 in 2002 was 4-Loss Auburn 2002. Mark Richt beat Alabama while they were on probation and did not make the AP Poll Top 10 and like I say didn’t make the Coaches’ Poll Top 25. That win may count; but, there is the 31 to nothing half-time LOST GAME in 2008 which is the most recent and the one against Nick Saban, whom Mark Richt has a LOSING RECORD to.

This is the definitive guide for making a team with JUCO of 1AA-level talent look like worldbeaters against UGA.

How to hang points on UGA (also known as what every team has done):

1) Run up the middle, let 9 and 52 get late tackles. Consistent 6-26 yard gains.
2) Wait for safeties to play in the box
3) Run a simple cross route
4) Look for whoever 19 is covering.
5) Throw a TD to a wide open WR.
6) Put up 14 points before everyone wakes up and realizes football is happening.

How to stop UGA from scoring:
1) Make sure that UGA has not managed to import an OL from a different team.
2) Push all the OL off the ball with a 4-man rush. There is a good chance at this point that at least 2 of 3 of the OT and C are now either on their back, or way out of position to have any effect.
3) Tackle the RB or QB.
4) Repeat.

Voters in the SEC region have voted Georgia up in the polls to benefit Florida’s SOS. Alabama and Florida are the NC contenders in the SEC. LSU is the dark horse. MSU is a pretender, and Georgia isn’t even that much. Dawgs are paper tigers pumped up in the polls via wins over cream-puffs.

“Dawgs are paper tigers pumped up in the polls via wins over cream-puffs.”

Actually, Predictor, Georgia is ranked pre-season # 6 because voters look at the # 108 Strength of Schedule and say Georgia loses at most 2 games 2012. The facts are all our games all 2012 season long are 25-40 on the season. # 108 SoS. That’s why we’re ranked high. It’s why Boise state college gets ranked high. It’s why Oregon is ranked high this season, too. This is one of the methods voters use to determine their rankings. Look at the schedule. Figure out who they might lose to. Come up with a record. Rank the records.

Still leaves us with :

16 losses last 18 games vs teams making top 25
14 losses last 17 games vs teams making top 10

Let’s say Mark Richt beats Florida. Those numbers going to look better ?

We are so vanilla and predictable on both sides of the ball. Every team has us pegged. Easy pickings in JAX for the Gators this year.

The Dawgs have some of the worst fans in college football… it’s always been that way. But this group is by no means a majority. Their best role, it seems, is to give the media something in-hand to harass the other UGA fans with.

gdawginkalamzoo, I read your posts every time. I read them all. All these years. It will not change Mark Richt’s 14 losses in his last 17 games against teams who made the top 10 nor his 16 losses the last 18 games against teams who made the top 25, and I know likewise, that it is not going to change Aaron Murray’s 10 losses in 10 games against teams who made the top 25, either. (Plus his 2 losses to teams not making any top 25.)

It is only the biggest games in their careers because they don’t win them. It will not be a huge reprieve from this grief that Georgia a Top 10 All-Time Football Program in Wins

This will either be a presure or motivation game for Flawda. Either presure because they are #2 and “expected” to win, or motivation based on losing to UGA last year. My money is that motivation wins, and so shall Flawda.

Have to admit the Flawda Gecko have a physical defense. Not so sure UGA has the push to match them at the line.

This game is UGA’s NC game for 2012. This is the best time to beat FL, while they are ranked high at #2.

UGA’s OLine has to step up to overwhelm those gators so that Gurshall can run.

Step up the D so that FL’s new QB is harassed thru out the game.

To be honest, I just don’t know.

Florida beat SC because SC turned over the ball FOUR times…

Driskel only threw for 94 yards….It is easy to win games when the other team fumbles the ball off punts and kick offs on their own 20.

The good news is that CMR and CTG just signed new contracts so they’ll be around a few more years.. wait, er, what? “I know what the hell I’m doing, alright?” Um, no. And neither does your OC. Your offensive coordinator running on 3 and 14 trying to “catch” a team off guard is proof you don’t. That and not being able to beat a Top 10 team. Bobo couldn’t call a Madden game correctly.

Dude, I’ve watched Florida play and their defense is actually better than LSU’s! The are good and they know how to make real-time game adjustments to whatever an offense throws at them. They are quick and hungry so look out UGA. Florids has an inconsistent offense, but they can run the ball well at times and UGA has not stopped the run all year! Georgia’s defense was manhandled by Kentucky O-line in the first half so I am pessimistic that they will stop Florida’s run game. If Florida contriols the clock and UGA has tp play catch-up, its all over! I think that Florida will win by 21pts!

Looking at our roster, the Dawgs should be able to beat or at least be competitive with anyone. We have the players to play lights out like the best teams out there, but there is a disconnect SOMEWHERE. This pattern of losing big games can only be boiled down to coaching. Its time for new leadership in Athens. We have grown predictable and stale. Morale is WAY down for fans, and that spells trouble for the athletic department at UGA. Florida with rip the Dawgs up 38-13. Yes…thats a missed extra point.

Coach Buddah will lead the dawgs to at least a 14 point loss. If the dawgs have 2 or more turnovers in the first half, it will be more like 21 point loss. But, quoting coach buddah, “its only a game”. So let’s get real, get over it, let’s focus on auburn, we still have a chance there.
The dawgs would have to play at their full potential for 4 quarters (every single play), which they have not done in a long time (have not beat a ranked team since 08).
Remember what the old ball coach said, “i don’t know what happens in athens, but they get all this talent and never fully develop it”.
when the season is over and the smoke clears, the draft occurs, and everyone is excited because 6 dawgs are drafted in the first 2 rounds, will anyone seriously ask “why did they have the record they have and so grossly underachieve, based on the talent on hand?”.
no.

Somebody needs to take MattinAtl back to rehab. He has fallen off the wagon and is really smoking some bad stuff.

You have absolutely no run defense. It is almost as bad as Tennessee’s. We gashed you for almost 200 with pip squeeks for rb’s. We also did not have a running qb. Everytime you have faced a team with a qb who could run, you got gashed. Buffalo qb ran for almost 90 on you. Connor Shaw ripped you a new one and he is half the athlete Jeff Driskel is. Gillisee is also a serious runner and their special teams make your look like a junior high cheerleading squad. I hear Richt is thinking about returning punts himself and doing the kicking. Florida’s defense is ranked 7th in total yards per game given up and 10th against the run. They are a better defensive team than SC.

You put up gawdy passing numbers against a 1 and 6 Kentucky team. Woo Hoo! Bully for you!!!! KY gashed you for over 200 yards rushing! My daughter’s high school team could have done that against you. I would put money that Marist High School could score on your defense. After all they do run the ball a lot!

The facts say you will lose and lose big. You will then win out and again go to the Outback Bowl, one more time where you will manage to embarass yourself against a Big 10/11 team and then blame the loss on UGA having diarhea.

Our lack of motivation on defense will doom us against Fla. Murray usually plays poorly in big games, and the Gators will give us a supreme butt whipping in the line of scrimmage (both sides). We need some intensity and passion from our coach, and to get an early lead (and not turn the ball over) in order to have any chance.

Florida has built a solid team their fans can be proud of. We have a collection of great players but due some weak areas we can’t measure up against the best teams. What happenned to our defense? Someone on here said earlier that UGA fans expect to be undefeated every year, and should be “thankful for what we have”,
We are thankful, but expect this team to play up to its potential. And it has not this year. The problem goes back to coaching, ultimately. The talent level is there; team should be able to beat the top-ranked teams, and they have not. That is why UGA fans are pessimistic about FLA game. CMR appeared tired and weary of questions after Kentucky game. He is really going to be tired of questions, if they lose to Gators…. But keep the faith…

I’m a die-hard Ga fan all my life and this team is a huge disappointment. Not in wins, one loss isn’t a deal breaker, but the manner in which we lose and win is abysmal. Even teams that are far less talent wise are able to gash us time and again up the middle with the run. THere were times in the Kentucky game where they showed replays of their runs up the middle with the camera angle from beind the runner and there were absolutley no Bulldogs on the frontline in sight, Nowhere! THey had all been pushed to the periphery and the middle was wide smack open. Can’t imagine that we can stay within 4 touchdowns of FLA.

Can ANYBODY out there tell me how we have let the o-line get in this shape? That is where the game is won and lost. We may beat Florida (doubtful) by some lucky breaks, etc., but with a point-guard center and a second tier o-line we will never keep up with the big boys. How to bet college football: first, assume the line is essentially correct and then look for the emotional edge. Look for a team which is coming off a big win playing against a team which is coming off a sub-par effort. Bet on that team to rebound (we’re human beings; we’re up and we’re down). And that means only one thing:
Pick Georgia.

don’t fool yourselves, FL will be up for this game. too much on the line for them. Conversely, GA will most likely not play w/confidence, be nervous and of course get gashed in the running game by fl.

I’ll bet even the GA players know they’re in for a beating. Unless they establish their dominance on both sides of the ball from the get go they will lose whatever confidence they gain and mustn win this game from the start. If they don’t demoralize the FL players from the get go and keep that pressure on them they don’t have a chance on beating FL, especially if FL gets an early lead and GA does not answer, it’ll be another SC like beat down for the dawgs. IF UGA plays as they did the last 2 games…that spread should be 21+. However, the Dawgs have the (raw) talent and potential to beat UF. They’ve a couple solid players, but overall the defense is fair to “pretty good”.

This game is going to be the defining moment of CMR’s career. Georgia obviously did not prepare for KY. They show no running game, knew they could pick apart their secondary and won the game. some players were kept out, others were used on a limited basis. I believe that CMR has gambled that 3 weeks preparation for FL will pay off. If it does he looks like a genius, if not the fan base is not going to be satisfied with losing to ranked teams all the time. I believe that the dawgs will be all over FL. Georgia 28 Florida 10

____________________

I see TB has returned under his customary handle–after posting earlier under a couple of his many pseudo handles–probably in an effort to avoid being banned again.

Notice how he’s suddenly singing the gators’ praises now (”great punting,” “great defense”) after spending half the season insisting that they will have “four or five losses in 2012,” and that he’s “not impressed with Florida 2012.” Still clinging to that ignorant, prediction, TB? What a hypocrite.

Then there was the post where he proclaimed that “South Carolina is a better team than Florida . . . .” How’d that one work out for you, dumbazz?

There are many more examples of TB’s “wisdom,” but those of you who post here regularly already know that. The real tragedy for true Dawg fans is that he’s associated at all–however loosely–with UGA.

I think the Gators are a better team and the coaching is better at UF. UGA will need some turnovers to beat the Gators. With that said the unknown factor is just how much gas has the Gators used in these past few weeks playing both very good LSU and USCe teams. You could see Saturday that USCe was out of gas vs the Gators due to big games with UGA,LSU, and UF all in a row. No team could win those 3 in row and that includes Bama. You need not only injury luck but schedule luck some years and just perhaps the Vandy game allowed UF a little down period to recover before the USCe game.

Announcers at Kentucky game said Kentuck’s avg run yardage was a little over a hundred per game and that exceeded that in the first quarter against what is optimistically called the Georgia Defense. Mel Kiper has J Jones as No. 1, Tree as No. 12, and J Jenkins as No. 18 on his draft day big board. Add to that Rambo as an All-American. Vanderbilt game was an abberation. so we’ve given up 23, 20, 20, 44, 35, 24 n the other games. Buffalo and Fla Atlantic and the aforementioned anemic (before playing UGA) Kentucky as we all know are powerful teams to which we’ve given up 23, 20, and 24, respectively. One thing I’ve noticed is GA players tackling from the side using only their arms instead of having the weight of their bodies behind them. Are they afraid to hit? Don’t know, but every team (and I’ve watched every game for years) has no problem running straight up the middle on us. Quite annoying, I must say. I remember how proud I used to be of my Junkyard Dogs, who could be counted on to play a good game, win or lose, but I was always optimistic. Now, I have absolutely no joy or optimism in the upcoming FLA game because even if we should win, I know that at some point, we will revert to norm and be unprepared, unorganized, lethargic, and/or make so many turnovers and otherwise boneheaded plays as to give the other team a cakewalk. This years FL team is not made of great players but play hard and determined. Watch draft day and see how many GA players are taken and taken early. With Murray’s improvement and Gurshall, we should be able to play with anybody in the country. The SC game was a joke. Before the game, I thought some shuttle passes should work and giving blocking help with some tight-end formations might help. I saw neither. Sorry folks, but I’ve given up on Richt.
This Richt anyway. If someone knows what happened to the one who came here from FL State and coached GA for the first five years, please send him to Athens to replace the imposter for a football coach who is now in place. I hate writing bad about my Dawgs.

I’ve enjoyed both the highs and lows of WBOCP over the years but finally gave up after several years of frustration and knowing on more than one occasion that it was going to be ugly in Jax. Dawgs would have to start strong, avoid penalties, stay focused, perform well in all three phases of the game, have no turnovers and three take aways to make this close. Does anyone really see us doing any of these things??? Me either. I sold my tickets and plan to stay home and lick my wounds in private.

UF has been good at winning the TO battle, +1.6 per game, UGA is 0.0 per game.

One thing we know, the gator offense will not drive the ball 80 yards 5 times for td’s.

they have to get turnovers, or they have no shot at staying in this game.

they also need a big punt or kick return.

The gators offense isn’t good enough to win this game, so the defense and special teams will have to get it done.

FL can throw the ball better than you think. They’re conservative with a young QB, but Driskel is completing 67% of his passes and has only thrown one INT. The Dawgs sandbagged it vs. Kentucky … i.e. pretty much a “open date” for UGA. Meanwhile, UF has been in 2 consecutive emotional & physical slugfests. Can the Gators hold-up for #3? If so, they will win by 17+ If not, UGA’s got plenty of talent to win, and win big too.

Betting lines can be way off many times. Take this past Saturday for example. Here are just a few of Vegas’ “misses” :

UNC -10.5 vs Duke …. Duke won outright, 33-30.
Miss St only -18 vs. Midd Tenn St? …. Miss State, 45-3
Arizona -7.5 vs. Washington … Arizon won by 35
West “F’n” Virginia -3 vs. K-State … Moutaineers LOST by 41
Southern Miss (0-6) coming into Sat vs. 1-4 Marshall was -4 …. Marshall won by 35
UF -3.5 vs South Cackalack …. Gators win by 33

See what can happen Dawg fans? UGA could pull a K-State or Marshall or….UF could pull another South Carolina on the Dawgs …. you just never know.

Fred…..

Your posts reveal your total lack of understanding of Florida’s offense this year. No, it is not Oregon’s offense. No, it is not Georgia’s offense. But Florida’s offense controls the ball, the line of scrimmage, wears down the other team for 2 quarters…..and then comes out of the lilly pads after halftime and snaps your rear end in half. Has in every game this year. Georgia has to come in and control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball….and not have any turnovers…..to beat Florida. I think they can do one of the two above….maybe. No chance of winning the lines of scrimmage in this game. Georgia will simply have to make big plays, get Florida to turn over the ball (something they have not done all year), and not turn the ball over themselves….and they can win. It will be a close game only because of how conservative Muschamp is on offense…….but I think Florida will wear Georgia’s lines of scrimmage down with constant rotations on the defensive line and pounding on the defensive line and running them all over the place. South Carolina’s defense was very good in the first half vs. Florida…..but they wore down as the game went on. And South Carolina has a much better defense that Georgia. But Georgia has a better offense than SC. That will make the game close……and it will come down to the better team in the 4th quarter…..and both have been good in that quarter this year. But Georgia has not played lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball like the ones Florida has…..combined with the overall speed Florida has all over the place…on D. It will be a challenge for Richt’s Dawgs….but they have enough talent to win the game. So does Florida. It is going to be a good one…..and might be won or lost on the last play of the game…..and I think Florida has a better kicker than Georgia…..and much better special teams. We will see. Gonna be a lot of fun in JAX on Saturday. Yeah boy……….Go Gators.

Mark Richt is no Vince Lombardi, that is for certain with his 16 losses the last 18 games vs teams making the top 25 and with his 14 losses the last 17 games vs teams making the top 10. Laughing coming off the field against Kentucky, shows again that since Kathryn Richt was diagnosed with Cancer on May 2, 2006, he doesn’t care about beating top teams anymore. With good reason. There are other things that are more important to him than Football any longer. No need to send the Mark Richt of prior to May 2, 2006 to Athens. He has had a SEE – significant emotional event. Even though UGA is 3 point underdog, I like UGA. Murray is probably the most on fire QB in the country right now, player of the week in the SEC. Guys learned how to beat Muschamp in 2011, protect the ball, stop the run, and stay balanced. Florida isn’t built to pass, they are a lot like Georgia Tech in that regard, and Richt’s 10-1 vs. Tech, and 1-0 vs. Muschamp. Richt rips up 1 dimensional offenses.

I’m as pissed as anyone about how the dogs have played lately, but there’s nothing like the GA FLA game and anything is possible. If we can finally come together on defense and click this weekend, which we are capable of doing, we can win this game, because GA is way better on offense than FLA. I’m not taking anything away from FLA’s win over SC, because it was a great win for them, but the difference in that game was the turnovers. Driskell had 4 TD passes, yet threw for less than 100 yards and FLA had less than 200 yards of total offense, which is hardly impressive.

My point of all this is that FLA won the turnover battle, which mostly occurred early in the game, which allowed them to get up on SC early at home, making it nearly impossible for any visiting team to recover from in the SEC.

I will say that it didn’t help SC that Connor Shaw had his worst game of the season by far, as he missed wide open receivers multiple times. Against GA, he had precision accuracy. If he is able to hit on a few of those over thrown passes, SC could have gotten back into the fight. Bottom line, FLA is a good team, but truly benefited from early turnovers to gain the early momentum, but understand this, they are no where near 33 points better that SC. If those same 2 teams were to play again this weekend, SC could easily win by the same margin… it just wasn’t their day on that particular Sat.

With that being said, FLA’ a little overrated, based on their recent performances over LSU and SC and GA is a little under rated, based on their piss poor play recently, so I predict that it will be a much better game than most people think and it will come down to who can gain the early momentum, because the fan base is a 50/50 split.

Prediction GA 20 FLA 14 (Morgan misses at least one extra point)

4-3 Ole Miss

Maybe if he isn’t assuming that we beat Florida as you would certainly be telling him he should be feeling about Florida, since you won’t let me post how poorly we look compared to Florida in week # 9, he should have said that we need to win 3 games : Florida, Alabama and the BCS National Championship Game. But, if he did assume a win over Florida as you tell me I should be posting about Georgia with our 1 good game we’ve played all season against only Vandie; his comment is accurate that we only need 2 wins.

DawgNole “Yeah, seems odd seeing those softies that late in your schedule.” Excuse me ? Have you ever posted 2 posts back-to-back that agreed with each other ? 1st you say that 3-4 Georgie tek and 0-0 Georgia Southern and 4-3 Ole Miss and 1-6 Auburn are some great opponents you’re not over-looking for us, then in the very next post, you say Florida has a bunch of softies coming up.

Again, you have a problem with distorting the posts of others–and with reading comprehension. You conveniently omitted Tampa Gator’s post, which included the TWO softies I was referencing. And where did I say “Florida has a bunch of softies coming up.”? Nowhere, of course. More of your lies.

Now quit dancing around your longtime assessment of the 2012 gators as unimpressive. You don’t have the integrity or credibility to stand behind what you claim, do you? I’ll stand behind every post I make–as written–NOT as distorted by you. Let’s see you do the same, coward?

What ?

You think that our Defense is as good as LSU’s defense ? LSU is the only team who held Florida to 14 points all season long. We never hold Florida to 14 points, Go Dawgs. I’ve read all your posts here forever Go Dawgs. You live in fantasy land, DISNEYdawgs.com 14 points Florida. Yeah, maybe in the 1st few minutes. Then, you can run in here and say we held Florida for a few minutes. We did well. Like you said against LSU to end our season last season, that we held them down and had the winning advantage after a few minutes. To which I replied to you, and LOST 10-42, which is what we did in the LSU game last season you bragged about how well we WERE doing to begin with.

Todd Grantham NEVER gives up only 14 points to Florida.

“@Thomas Brown – appreciate all your posts, your research, and your passion. UGA has become the classic choker of the SEC, no question. Experts in losing games they should win. Being embarassed by teams with which they should be competitive. Looking unprepared. Unable to put two quality halfs together (LSU last year . . . ). Personal fouls galore (though not quite so bad this year). All factors that make the talent at UGA look like bumbling fools when it counts.”
_______________________________________________________
Thank you GwinnettDad. Had a good night’s sleep before I read your reply last night to me; but, actually we’re # 94 Fewest Penalties per game, too. We cannot even line-up for a play all 2012. They show Mike Bobo and Mark Richt on the sidelines : Like excuse me ref, what’s that arms in the air ? What did we do wrong 7 men all moving and failing to come to a stop before going for it on 4th down. No. We have nothing but penalties. When you are # 94 in the nation in penalties and that against the # 108 strength of schedule with 25-40 the Record of all 12 of our 2012 opponents, you are the dead last worst in the nation in penalties, again.

It is the hallmark of a poorly prepared and poorly coached Mark Richt team all 12 years to-date. Especially against the top 10 teams with 14 losses vs the last 17 opponents who made the top 10. And, especially so against the top 25 teams with 16 losses the last 18 opponents who made the top 25. Know how many times my detailed research game-by-game has been re-posted by every blog in America on that one ? Typo a gn instead of ng, and get called on that, and NO ONE has ANY ISSUE with my 7 points, they tell me. Duh. That’s because I do my research, as you say. Original thoughts and original posts by me. And, we make a ton on penalties # 94 in the nation 2012 season, against SEC teams who put-up a winning SEC record losing every game starting with Kentucky way back in the 2007 season. The 2007 season was 6 seasons’ ago for those with no degree from anywhere, or they would put it up – not try to weasel their way out of that, too.
2012-one
2011-two
2010-three
2009-four
2008-five
2007-six seasons’ ago lost every game starting KY 2007 vs SEC teams who put-up winning SEC Record

We’re a bad football team because we are poorly coached by stupid coaches. Good guys of that, there is no question. Good coaches ? Good coaches don’t have football teams consistently like this one and certainly don’t have only 66 scholarship recruits plus 1 transfer-in left of 107 they signed to play 2012, which is what we have. The walk-ons have been HORRIBLE 2012. Get ready. End of the season coming up, having already thwarted the 2012 season with every performance in every single game except Vandie. I think it will be a close game, honestly. Our defense can make big plays, if they can do that then Florida is very beatable. LSU has no offense whatsoever and SC self destructed against Florida. Gators have been impressive the last few weeks but they are no super team. If Jarvis is healthy and they force turnovers, its anyones game. But I still don’t have much faith right now in them, I’m only stating that Georgia has every bit of talent and the means to win this game…whether they do it or not is anyones guess

shep, let me see if I can begin to try to explain this to you about Aaron Murray being talked about so much :

(1) He is 0-10 vs teams who make any top 25 poll
(2) He has 2 more losses vs teams who did not make any top 25 poll
(3) He has 30 Fumbles in 34 games, most of which are vs top teams
(4) He averages 1 yards per carry on 200 carries in his career
(5) He was billed as a dual-threat QB
(6) We still have posters who still say that AM should duck and run
(7) He is 4.81 speed in the 40-yard dash
(8) Every SEC DL runs him down, once he starts to try to get away
(9) He throws his wee-little body on the ground
(10) He’s a midget
(11) He holds on to the ball too long
(12) His footwork is horrible, and has plodding “speed”
(13) He cannot for the life of him get a 1st Down
(14) He is inaccurate in his throws
(15) He cannot move the offense
(16) He looks desperate back there
(17) He does not have that it factor
(18) Mel Kiper says when game on line, losing, think of AM to win it ?
(19) He overthrows his receivers
(20) Caught passes are great catches on balls behind them they came back for
(21) He wants to run every play himself
(22) He wants to throw every play himself
(23) He has been on campus since December 2008 practicing with the team
(24) He checks out of plays not centering on him at the line of scrimmage
(25) He stays in the plays called from sideline which are centering on him
(26) He thinks he is the only player on the team
(27) He tries to do too much
(28) He goes through his progressions very slowly and poorly
(29) He cannot see over any OL or any DL
(30) He has no speed to sprint out and see through the OL DL for a lane
(31) He throws 5 TD passes vs New Mexico State and stays in game to end
(32) He never comes out any game, never, for any reason no matter how bad or good
(33) He cannot be a leader in any fashion on or off the field
(34) He gets away with everything with Mark Richt
(35) Mark Richt Mike Bobo sing his praises
(36) He is an under-sized ballhog
(37) He is 22-12
(38) He has 26 interceptions in 32 games and should have had a lot more
(39) His passes are tipped at the line of scrimmage
(40) His fan(s) run in here and say tip pass, not AM’s fault
(41) Huh ?
(42) He NEVER throws the football away when the receivers are covered
(43) He stares down his receivers
(44) He put his name in hat for NFL draft last year when he is # 100 this year
(45) NFL wants him at Combines for measuring him
(46) He will NEVER throw a pass in the NFL
(47) He doesn’t look the part
(48) Ben Dukes says he is horrible
(49) No one brags about him, no one
(50) He gave Todd Gurley 15 touches vs South Carolina
(51) He will do the same 4 days from now
(52) He poses in bed with his girlfriend wearing glasses
(53) He apparently does not need glasses to be the leading QB for UGA
(54) He got away with beer cans and Georgie tek fans on his off-week
(55) He watches film
(56) He does not lift weights, nor run
(57) His arms are like pencils
(58) He is not NFL material
(59) We have 6 QB including the one coming in, none ever get a snap
(60) None will get snap in 2013 either with 4 losses at least
(61) He discombobulates the offense with his indecisiveness
(62) He plays like crudola against everyone assuring he stays out there
(63) Even at 10:45 Spurrier pulled starters, he left in as our Starting QB 35-0
(64) That just latest game he folded like a cheap suit
(65) Still took him until 1:55 to score meaningless TD vs SC 7-35
(66) He has been sacked 65 times in 34 games
(67) His offense he is the “leader” of is # 94 nation in penalties
(68) We’re # 55 in nation in being sacked because of him
(69) # 55 being sacked despite playing # 108 Strength of Schedule
(70) He is # 49 in the nation in 1st Downs
(71) He sucks
(72) He is a wimp
(73) David Greene’s record is 42 Wins as Starting QB, Aaron Murray has 22

That’s why we Palaver over Aaron Murray. Why do you ? Why do you try to make excuses for him ? Isn’t that getting old to yet shep ?

Wally Butts averaged not quite 7 wins a year, Vince Dooley a little over 8 and Mark Richt about 9.5. Since 1939, Richt is demonstrably the best coach UGA has had. Vince won one national title because of the presence of one once-in-a-lifetime player. There’s only one Saban and one Meyer and last I checked they both had jobs. Oh, Ok. We’re going to score 6 times on Florida, 4 on touchdowns and 2 more times on field goals. Got it. Thank you. That certainly clears it all up now. The most points Florida has given up all season is 20 vs the vols, who put up 44 points on us. And, we’re going to put-up one hundred and seventy percent more than any team Florida has played when they have beat everyone including last week 44-11 over a team we LOST to scoring 7 giving up 35.

“Pessimism reigns by Georgia fans about Florida game”\

Really because all I hear day in and day out is how UGA will run this state and run the SEC every year. I also hear a lot of “write this and that down.”

Yeah, I and I write it down. And, they say they didn’t say it. DISNEYdawgs.com such as on this blog last night : “Florida 14 points against UGA. 14 FL.” They won’t come back. Take for example :

SW …. glad someone has balls enough to be honest about whats really going on. I mean listen to MR… “Kentucky game was good” “Happy to be 6-1″ (yea many are but how did you look getting there?) ” We are having fun at practice”……. Go listen to Steve S’s press confrence after the FLA game.

http://www.gamecocksonline.com/sports/m…/scar-m-footbl-body.html

He holds people accountable!!!! CRM ” ALLS GOOD” anad it takes a player, SW, to have the balls to say whats reall going on.. Does CMR not even recognize it? Or is he giving UGA Nation the same BS that Obama wants us to hear and drink that ALL”S GOOD… SW is rignt….. ant the SOFT starts with MARK….. FAN or not, you gotta recognize this.

Ther are a lot in the same in their leadership styles….. want to tell us all is good and really expect us to believe it. Wake up MARK !!! Look and listen to your troops!!

georgia was flat against kentucky—against florida, the Ga D will rise up and put a hurting on the gator offense. They will be lucky to get any points against the Dog D. Mark this down–Georgia wins by 10 and wins the SEC east!!!

Why shouldn’t ‘Dog fans be pessimistic? All we have to do is look at this season and seasons before with the ‘Dogs lack of focus and intensity. Sure, Florida is coming off a tremendous emotional victory over SC; and, some think FL will have somewhat of a let down. Not-so. FL has improved in EVERY game, while the ‘Dogs have not improved in any category. I don’t think it will be a 51-3 beatdown–just a 48-10 blow-out.

Solution: Dan Mullin. We’d compete for a title inside of three years with him as coach. #1…he’ a great coach, #2…he’s a great recruiter. #3…He actually wants to win. #4…He’d take the job.

You want solutions? Here is an easy one.

If we go the Kirby Smart route we will soon find ourselves in Ray Goff 1994 purgatory. If we stay with Richt it will never get any better than it is right now. He’s our John Cooper.

Rhetorical question from someone who changes his handle to my handle and expects me then to reply to him, of dearie who could we possibly hire, who would even want to come here and coach us, and don’t tell me Nick Saban or Les Miles or Ron Zook or Ur Ban My er or any of the 8 SEC teams’ coaches in the 12-year Mark Richt era who all 12 have done better against teams who made the top 10 than Mark Richt, himself.

Good Lord.

Anyone is better than what we have. A washed up coach who has no desire to do anything, His players running to the press this morning, whining the coaches are playing the wrong players and I want this guy and this other guy out there playing instead. Oh dear, just who in the heck could we possibly hire to this God-Forsaken Top 10 Football Program All-Time ?

See how that works TB ? You just up and answer my question, while I avert your questions. Do what I tell you to do. See TB ? Nincompoop.

Yes, you are definitely mathematically challenged if you consider 2012 one season ago, 2011 two seasons ago, etc. The fact that you can’t comprehend that is what makes your claim of being top 5% in your class so laughable. Let’s see if you can find anyone else on the blog who believes the current season is actually one season ago.

I think UF will take the Dawgs but I hope Bama could get to Atlanta and play Richt’s team. Talk about a beatdown. Saban and team would fix the Richt issue for you guys no doubt. Football is a serious game at Bama and a Church social at UGA. Remember any player not holding his nose while jumping in the pool will only get one scoop of ice cream. Now that is some tuff discipline by any standard.

Ten Ways the Dawgs Can Win On Saturday
1. Tainted shellfish ingested at pre-game dinner Friday night renders UF players unfit for competition (among other things)
2. Dawgs defense breaks into gangnam style dance routine after first TD scored by UF
3. Herschel Walker inspires the team by gnawing the head off a live alligator in pregame peptalk
4. UF consents to gentlemen’s agreement not to return punts or kickoffs for touchdowns
5. UF players caught looking ahead to Halloween night
6. The Law of Averages – UGA’s bound win a big game sooner or later
7. Honey Boo Boo – UGA Honorary Captain – swallows the coin during mid-field toss. Game delayed waiting for Nature to take it’s course. UF forfeits.
8. Herschel Walker inspires the team by doing 5,000 push ups during pregame pep talk
9. CMR performs pantomime to recording of inspirational song Desiderata for the team – there wasn’t a dry eye in the locker room. CMR was crying anyway. He’s very deep.
10. Honey Boo Boo finally passes the coin. Ref refuses to touch it. UF forfeits

Expect Aaron Murray to throw one pick six and loose at least one fumble – and that could be a scoop and score. Do not expect him to scramble for any first downs. Bobo doesn’t want Murray to get hurt – as if this sawed off QB will find safety in the pocket. Bobo has no imagination and no guts. And the defense is undisciplined, poorly coached, and soft. I’m envious that UF has a fighter for a coach. If you can’t be smart, for goodness sakes, be tough.
