Pessimism reigns by Georgia fans about Florida game (video added)

Remember how high optimism was about Georgia football before this season? Well, that seems to have eroded.
The recent loss to South Carolina, several unimpressive victories – including the latest win at Kentucky — and a perceived talent-loaded defense that hasn’t nearly lived up to expectations has led to many Georgia fans expecting the worst when the Bulldogs face Florida in Jacksonville next Saturday.
Loading ...How do I know this? Because when I relayed via Twitter that Florida was anywhere from a 3½ to 4½ point favorite at most sportsbooks, the responses could all be reduced down to these three words: “Is that all?”
In fact, as I type this, I have yet to find a reader who would take that bet (Georgia plus the points).
Georgia is 3-8 against Florida under Mark Richt, including last year’s win. But Florida is 7-0, ranked No. 2 in the BCS standings and destroyed South Carolina 44-11.
On Betonline.com, the Gators opened as 3½ point favorites, the line dropped to 3, then went up to 4½. Vegasinsider.com lists the consensus line at 3.5. The Las Vegas Wynn opened with Florida at 4½ and it went up to 5.

@Thomas Brown – appreciate all your posts, your research, and your passion. UGA has become the classic choker of the SEC, no question. Experts in losing games they should win. Being embarassed by teams with which they should be competitive. Looking unprepared. Unable to put two quality halfs together (LSU last year . . . ). Personal fouls galore (though not quite so bad this year). All factors that make the talent at UGA look like bumbling fools when it counts.

Outback Bowl here we come. And get beat by some Big 10 school. Everyone will be happy we won 10 games. Whoopee!! And as irrelavant in the hunt for a NC as any team can get. Whoopee!! There’s reason a plenty to view this game with great trepidation — fear that Florida is going to run over Georgia and back up over us again and again. They were cremated by South Carolina. And, barely got past Kendamntucky! This could be real ugly!

They show Mike Bobo and Mark Richt on the sidelines : Like excuse me ref, what’s that arms in the air ? What did we do wrong 7 men all moving and failing to come to a stop before going for it on 4th down. No. We have nothing but penalties. When you are # 94 in the nation in penalties and that against the # 108 strength of schedule with 25-40 the Record of all 12 of our 2012 opponents, you are the dead last worst in the nation in penalties, again.
It is the hallmark of a poorly prepared and poorly coached Mark Richt team all 12 years to-date. Especially against the top 10 teams with 14 losses vs the last 17 opponents who made the top 10. And, especially so against the top 25 teams with 16 losses the last 18 opponents who made the top 25. Know how many times my detailed research game-by-game has been re-posted by every blog in America on that one ? Typo a gn instead of ng, and get called on that, and NO ONE has ANY ISSUE with my 7 points, they tell me. Duh. That’s because I do my research, as you say. Original thoughts and original posts by me. And, we make a ton on penalties # 94 in the nation 2012 season, against SEC teams who put-up a winning SEC record losing every game starting with Kentucky way back in the 2007 season. The 2007 season was 6 seasons’ ago for those with no degree from anywhere, or they would put it up – not try to weasel their way out of that, too.

I’m not picking on you UGA89. I like your posts and agree with you, as you say, that the fan who rolled and egged Aaron Murray’s home was way wrong. I am firmly fixed in my mind who you are UGA89. We’re a bad football team because we are poorly coached by stupid coaches. Good guys of that, there is no question. Good coaches ? The walk-ons have been HORRIBLE 2012. Get ready. End of the season coming up, having already thwarted the 2012 season with every performance in every single game except Vandie. I think it will be a close game, honestly. Our defense can make big plays, if they can do that then Florida is very beatable. LSU has no offense whatsoever and SC self destructed against Florida. Gators have been impressive the last few weeks but they are no super team. If Jarvis is healthy and they force turnovers, its anyones game. But I still don’t have much faith right now in them, I’m only stating that Georgia has every bit of talent and the means to win this game…whether they do it or not is anyones guess

Remember the 07 season? Georgia got blasted by the Vols, then barely beat Vandy the next week. They then proceeded to slap around a Heisman winning Tebow led gators team. Anything is possible on any given week.

Ga folds badly. Where they get us is smashing us in the mouth early. We’re out coached unfortunately altho I luv Richt because of his character. Had to believe that Murray is still palavered over. The offense is doing so well under Bobo but they never seem to be able to grind it out. I guess, if the offensive live was Alabama quality, we wd score in the 70’s?

(1) He is 0-10 vs teams who make any top 25 poll
(2) He has 2 more losses vs teams who did not make any top 25 poll
(3) He has 30 Fumbles in 34 games, most of which are vs top teams
(4) He averages 1 yards per carry on 200 carries in his career
(5) He was billed as a dual-threat QB
(6) We still have posters who still say that AM should duck and run
(7) He is 4.81 speed in the 40-yard dash
(8) Every SEC DL runs him down, once he starts to try to get away
(9) He throws his wee-little body on the ground

Wally Butts averaged not quite 7 wins a year, Vince Dooley a little over 8 and Mark Richt about 9.5. Since 1939, Richt is demonstrably the best coach UGA has had. Vince won one national title because of the presence of one once-in-a-lifetime player. There’s only one Saban and one Meyer and last I checked they both had jobs. Appreciate what you have and shut up.

Oh, Ok. We’re going to score 6 times on Florida, 4 on touchdowns and 2 more times on field goals. Got it. Thank you. That certainly clears it all up now. The most points Florida has given up all season is 20 vs the vols, who put up 44 points on us. And, we’re going to put-up one hundred and seventy percent more than any team Florida has played when they have beat everyone including last week 44-11 over a team we LOST to scoring 7 giving up 35.

georgia was flat against kentucky—against florida, the Ga D will rise up and put a hurting on the gator offense. They will be lucky to get any points against the Dog D. Mark this down–Georgia wins by 10 and wins the SEC east!!!
