Before getting to this week’s expected resurrection, I felt the need to do some research on raising the dead. See, a year ago, Georgia lost its first two games of the season and was declared kaputski, only to win its next 10 games, thereby saving the season, the head coach and all hope for those who embrace the idea of bringing a corpse back to life, particularly in an election year. (”How much for that Lincoln or FDR on the top shelf? Can I at least get a discount on Andrew Jackson with a Kroger Plus Card?)
So here we are again, with the Bulldogs having flat-lined in South Carolina. This prompted some research on what it would take to raise the dead. (Street term: black magic, potions or campaign speeches). This is what I found on SpellsOfMagic.com. (Back off. I’m a journalist.):
It's a job for Dr. Frankenstein (pronounced: franken-SHTEEN).
This spell will raise the dead and make them immortal . Don’t use this spell no matter what resion[sic]. There is consequences. NOTE this will not work if the person was a vampire, the body was burnt, they are pure of heart, you love them.
• 1. berry[sic] the fang
(Presumably, a fang from a late Uga or a Willie Martinez bicuspid would work.)
• 2. place skin on the grave
(Pork rinds?)
• 3. write their name in blood, full name
• 4. evenly space the candles, 1 per person, btw you count as a person
• 5. light candles clock wise, one after the other
• 6. hold clothing in your hand, then chant: “adeo mihi proficiscor vos solvo, alive undead vos vadum exsisto imbibo, cruor quod erant fang, imbibo mihi mote is exsisto.” (Translation: Dear God: If Steve Spurrier wins the East, I’m moving to Bolivia.)
• 7. wait till full moon then go back alone
Warning you may die.
Wait. What was that last one?
Forget it. It’s Kentucky. I’ll let this happen organically.
I don’t know how good Georgia is after the South Carolina game. But I know how bad Kentucky is. The Mildcats are 1-6. They lost to Arkansas 49-7. They have lost their last four games by a combined 152-38. Good luck raising Joker Phillips from the dead.
Not sure what this means for Florida, but this week the Dogs are alive. They win and cover 27½.
The critics rave: “Must-see video of the year! I laughed, I cried.”
FABER COLLEGE
(Where Knowledge Is Good)
• Birds and Bees: Paul Johnson said of his team’s defensive scheme, “We don’t need 80 calls,” a nice backhand at the brain-straining Al Groh, who was sling-shotted last week. Kinda makes sense really. Johnson’s offense has, like, what, four plays? Jackets cover 14 against B.C. Eagles.
• South Carolina at Florida: The Gamecocks looked three seconds slower, two feet shorter and 70 pounds lighter at LSU than they did at home against Georgia. Well, except for defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles, who slugged an LSU player when he was on the ground, prompting this comment from Spurrier: “I guess you’d call it a punch — I’ve seen a lot bigger punches.” He just dropped another notch on the food chain. Say hello to your statue in Gainesville, Steve. And goodbye to the SEC East: Gators cover 3.
Here’s what Spurrier considered minor
• Villanova at Georgia State: The Panthers conquered the state of Rhode Island, their first win of the season, and now move on to more significant territory: Fulton County. It’s Homecoming. You know, the road wasn’t so bad. Villanova covers two TDs.

So much for inspirational messages. (Via @cr529 on Twitter)
• Alabama at Tennessee: There’s a famous zillion-pound rock on the Tennessee campus that’s frequently painted with messages. Earlier this week, messages included: “Derek Dooley Fan Club” followed by logos of SEC opponents. Ouch. By the way, if you move the rock, you’ll probably find Bobby Petrino underneath. Tides covers 20.5
• Auburn at Vanderbilt: Gene Chizik is now 27-53 in his Auburn/Iowa State coaching career without Cam Newton (including 9-27 in conference games). On a related note, there’s something wrong with his plane ticket to Nashville. It says, “Coach.” Vandy covers 7.
Chizik has a new idea to convert fans
Spumoni! Spumoni!
• LSU at Texas A&M: The Aggies beat Louisiana Tech 59-57 last week. I’m not sure what sport that was but unfortunately they’re going to have to play football this week. Tigers cover 3½.
• Florida State at Miami: The Hurricanes will have 40 members of the 1987 national championship team at the game. Twenty-five years from now, the 2012 team will be honored in the parking lot of a Shoney’s. Seminoles cover 20½.
NFL SNACK PACK
(Buy any two games, receive a free copy of Michael Vick’s buyout clause.)
• Saints at Bucs: Jonathan Vilma says he will play while his suspension is legal limbo. No worries. He has been working out with Jeff Gillooly. Saints cover 3.
• Packers at Rams: The Packers lost three of five, then rolled for six touchdowns at Houston. I’m sensing a market correction. Cheese covers 5½.
• Redskins at Giants: If the playoffs opened today, the Falcons would get a first-round bye and then probably face the New York Giants. Feeling confident? Giants cover 6½.
• Cowboys at Panthers: Jerry Jones has a Taj Mahal for a stadium but a Walmart dinette set for a team. Nonetheless: Dallas covers 2.
VISITING THE CASHIER’S WINDOW
But first, pick a number between 1 and 10
Last week: 9-3 straight up, 5-7 against the line.
Through 7 laps: 59-19 straight up, 43-33-2 against the line.
Lock the Week: Deadbolt.
Lilly Pick of the Week: Lilly was furloughed this week after picking South Carolina over LSU and falling to 3-4. She has filed a grievance with the union.

The old ball coach has a tuff job to get his team up 3 tuff weeks in a row. I like UF to win and cover.
UGA should get to rest and get ready for the game of Mark Richt’s career. Sheet will get real next week for Mark.

Pitbull – It’s arguable that UGA’s season has been far more dissapointing than GT’s this year. GT had no hopes at a conference championship from the start, UGA had the easiest NCAA Division I schedule in years and ruined their shot within the first month and a half.

He’s crude, crass and totally unacceptable. I lost family to cancer and will not accept TB making fun of Coach Richt’s wife’s misfortune. Thommy is a dispicable waste of good breathing air. Ever since the History Channel did that expose on Kentucky (The Hatfields and the McCoys), their historic success was shown to be from putting bounties on their opponents and then just sitting back, waiting for the scalps to come rolling in. Since they lost that edge (1902), they have just been pathetic losers. The only reason they are in the SEC is to get Georgia a win every year.

I am certainly not impressed with Florida, either. They beat LSU; that’s more than Mark Richt has done the Current Entire 5 Seasons. Let me see my bitter Rival is Florida by far. So, I am supposed to go on the blog and state that I hope that Florida wins late this afternoon to be # 3 in the AP Poll ? With Mark Richt’s 3 wins in 17 games against teams who made Top 10 all 12 years now 18 percent chance of winning. With Mark Richt’s 3 wins out of 11 games against Florida now 27 percent chance of winning, I am supposed to go on the blog and state that I hope that Florida wins late this afternoon to be # 3 in the AP Poll when the last time Mark Richt beat a team who made the Top 10 was 7 seasons’ ago # 9 Auburn in 2006.
I cower from Alabama ? Mark Richt is the one who cowers from Alabama or anyone like them. I am absolutely certain that Alabama wipes the floor with Mark Richt in the SEC Championship Game 2012, see absolutely no reason to subject Mark Richt to the obvious in such a game, and know beyond all measure that South Carolina is the better team having beat-down Mark Richt 35 to nothing at the 10:45 mark before Steve Spurrier yanked his starters while Mark Richt left little Aaron Murray in still to take until the 1:55 mark of the game to score a meaningless touchdown 7-35
So, be ashamed of where you earned your degree.
I am proud of my alma mater UGA. You can neither take away my 3.88 at UGA, nor say that I cannot point out that Mark Richt has not cared about beating the top teams since his wife was diagnosed with Cancer on May 2, 2006. He doesn’t care anymore. He told you it puts everything into perspective. You can characterize this as making fun of Kathryn Richt ? Hardly, son.
A whole entire post about Florida State covering 20 against hapless Miami of Florida ? Who GAS?
I guess this being 1 of your pansies at 1-6, you suspect Mark Richt wins; and loses to Florida since they aren’t with you picking them against South Carolina. There is no way Florida is the football team South Carolina is. None. Florida is a miserable football team 2012 who cannot pass, can run, can punt but has nothing else on special teams, and who has a fine defense. Do I think Florida is # 3 ? Do you brag Florida is ? Yes, you do.
We should beat Florida handily. That is a team whom YOU PREDICTED would not be a ranked team 2012, in case you forget. You see ? To get 3.88 you have to be able to remember. I maintain to this day that Florida is a poor football team 2012. Not good. No good.
And, I will be DIPPED if I am going to sit there yelling for Florida to win.
Again.
(1) It does us no good for Florida to win.
(2) We, and you know it have, no hope against Alabama.
(3) Anything can happen against Alabama ? Albert Einstein disagrees.
(4) You said all week this week that you have no issues with my Original 7 Points on Mark Richt, which I alone post, and yes, I post them all over the Internet, while you are obsessed, as always, with having my posts censored. Hey, how’s it look – me saying Florida is not a great or even good football team ? Strike while the iron is hot and they # 3 in the nation. Cough Cough. # 3 Florida – yeah, right. Like I said when we were # 5. We ain’t a # 5 team. We played 1 good game all season, Vandie. It’s an SEE significant emotional event in Mark Richt’s life when Kathryn Richt was diagnosed with Cancer May 2, 2006 and he hasn’t given a minute care in this world about beating top football teams, since, and you know it. With good reason. He is still our football coach. I still like the guy. I know he doesn’t care as much about football as I.

(1) Lost 8 in row made top 10
(2) Lost 10 in row SEC with winning SEC record
(3) Lost 10 in row who made top 25
(4) Lost 16 of last 18 now who made top 25
(5) Lost 14 of 17 now who made top 10
(6) 66 scholarship recruits left + 1 transfer-in of 107 signed to play 2012
(7) 2012 Strength of Schedule # 103 with only ranked team left Florida

“I have no issue with these points”
_________________________________________
Sure you have no issues with these points of MINE, I researched and presented – something you have NEVER done once in these 2012 posts alone with the handle DawgNole, a handle which never existed until now. The reason why you have no issue with these points ? Because this EXACTLY what you say about Mark Richt beating the pansies and losing to the others. But, you want Florida to be great 2012 so Mark Richt can beat them and you say how great they are when you know they aren’t and when you know YOU SAID ALL 2012 as DawgNole that Florida is not any good whatsoever categorically in EVERY POST. So, you can say Mark Richt beat Florida to not be as he in fact is at 3 wins out of 11 games, and so you can say that Mark Richt is not 3 wins out of 17 games against teams who made the Top 10. I got news for you : Attention N.B. Florida is NOT going to be a Top 10 team 2012, and yes I still hold out hope that they lose even 4 games 2012 still. I look at them and see a poor football team. And, yes, a team I hope LOSES to South Carolina. I am tired of backing into The SEC Championship Game only to be beat-down 10-42 to come on the blog and hear you say that oh my Mark Richt really coached UGA well today for the 1st half ahead. And, me to reply : Are you talking about the game which we LOST 10-42 ?
As for you little subliminal quip that Mark Richt almost always ends the season on an upper :
- would that be 2011 losing to all 4 good teams and 2 in a row to end the season ?
- would that be 2010 losing 7 games including UCF to end the season ?
- would that be 2009 losing 5 games including Kentucky at end of season to seal deal ?
- would that be 2008 playing 3 teams who beat top 25 teams and losing all 3 including 2 of the last 4 regular seasons’ games to end the season including Florida and Georgie tek in 2008 ?
2012 you want us to play Alabama to end this season, you expect Mark Richt to win that game to end this season ? So Mark Richt can play whom in the BCS Bowl ? And, do what against them ?
How can you tell the intelligence of a an individual ? That his Dad Valedictorian 145 IQ
2012 – current season (1) one
2011 – current season (2) two
2010 – current season (3) three

Current (5) five Seasons in a Row oh my Mark Richt almost always ends the season on an upper

No wonder you don’t like me and want my posts censored. I guess you read that statement of yours and think, oh my what a smart guy I am. Not. You come in here and make points. Your points are ALWAYS way-off base. Senseless posts. Thoughtless points. Mark Richt almost always ends on an upper ? What the season ends with Georgie tek ? That the measure ? Let’s quit counting with the game with Georgie tek ? Is this some lame attempt to mitigate what has happened to Mark Richt at the end of EVERY SEASON THE CURRENT 5 YEARS NOW and more of the same you hope for 2012 with Mark Richt facing Alabama you want ? Man. You have no street cred : None. You are wholly unable to have a cognizant thought on Mark Richt and have it be consistent with your thinking. Your synapses are not all firing. Wonder why that is ?
Do you really think that Mark Richt will end 2012 on an upper if you get your way and we play Alabama ? Come on now; you can say it. You can answer. It’s ok. We all know. Go ahead. Show your intelligence and answer that ? Do you really think that Mark Richt ended 2011 on an upper or that you can characterize it so weasel-wording some just ignorant point ? What about 2010 ended on a upper for Mark Richt ? 2009 an upper for Mark Richt at the end ? 2008 an upper for Mark Richt at the end ? How far back should I go to find sense in such a nonsensical point ?
Current 5-Year Mark Richt period ends on an upper almost always ?

Boston College – 1 win 5 losses on season, what a joke Boston College
Miami of Florida hapless nobodies – lost 3 games already beat Georgie tek OT
This is what typifies FSU football forever. Cupcakes. Nothing but Cupcakes. Booby Bowden once was asked why he joined the ACC rather than The SEC. Booby offers up that what ? Am I stupid, or what ? Which would you rather ? This schedule 2012, or playing Alabama, LSU, South Carolina instead ? I thought it would give us a better chance at getting into the national championship discussion, if we played in the ACC. So, I joined the ACC. Then, I said why should I let the bad actions of some of my historically undisciplined players, cost my whole football team ? No. I’m not suspending him. It would be punishing my football team, who did nothing wrong.
So, he retired from football with the 2nd most wins ever by a football coach on the field in 1-A FBS wins. Against nobodies. Now, of course, Penn State’s Joe Paterno, whom Booby Bowden LOST the most wins ever by a coach when Booby Bowden retired despite his attempt to alter his schedules by joining the weak no top team ACC, while Joe Paterno joined the Big 10. (They never did count Penn State as the Big XI.) Now, Joe Paterno has fewer wins than Booby Bowden. What does Booby have to say about that ? I am the greatest, and Joe Paterno a bum. That’s what he has consistently said after being FIRED by FSU.
