Weekend Predictions: Bulldogs, Jackets rise from dead
Before getting to this week’s expected resurrection, I felt the need to do some research on raising the dead. See, a year ago, Georgia lost its first two games of the season and was declared kaputski, only to win its next 10 games, thereby saving the season, the head coach and all hope for those who embrace the idea of bringing a corpse back to life, particularly in an election year. (”How much for that Lincoln or FDR on the top shelf? Can I at least get a discount on Andrew Jackson with a Kroger Plus Card?)
So here we are again, with the Bulldogs having flat-lined in South Carolina. This prompted some research on what it would take to raise the dead. (Street term: black magic, potions or campaign speeches). This is what I found on SpellsOfMagic.com. (Back off. I’m a journalist.):

I don’t know how good Georgia is after the South Carolina game. But I know how bad Kentucky is. The Mildcats are 1-6. They lost to Arkansas 49-7. They have lost their last four games by a combined 152-38. Good luck raising Joker Phillips from the dead.
Not sure what this means for Florida, but this week the Dogs are alive. They win and cover 27½.

• Auburn at Vanderbilt: Gene Chizik is now 27-53 in his Auburn/Iowa State coaching career without Cam Newton (including 9-27 in conference games). On a related note, there’s something wrong with his plane ticket to Nashville. It says, “Coach.” Vandy covers 7.

• LSU at Texas A&M: The Aggies beat Louisiana Tech 59-57 last week. I’m not sure what sport that was but unfortunately they’re going to have to play football this week. Tigers cover 3½.
• Florida State at Miami: The Hurricanes will have 40 members of the 1987 national championship team at the game. Twenty-five years from now, the 2012 team will be honored in the parking lot of a Shoney’s. Seminoles cover 20½.

• Saints at Bucs: Jonathan Vilma says he will play while his suspension is legal limbo. No worries. He has been working out with Jeff Gillooly. Saints cover 3.

• Redskins at Giants: If the playoffs opened today, the Falcons would get a first-round bye and then probably face the New York Giants. Feeling confident? Giants cover 6½.
• Cowboys at Panthers: Jerry Jones has a Taj Mahal for a stadium but a Walmart dinette set for a team. Nonetheless: Dallas covers 2.

Pitbull – It’s arguable that UGA’s season has been far more dissapointing than GT’s this year. GT had no hopes at a conference championship from the start, UGA had the easiest NCAA Division I schedule in years and ruined their shot within the first month and a half.

After the comment Thomas made about Coach Richts wife on a previous blog, I thought Jeff would kick him out then. Maybe he has, I’m not sure, but TB doesn’t belong on a public blogsite. He’s crude, crass and totally unacceptable. I lost family to cancer and will not accept TB making fun of Coach Richt’s wife’s misfortune. Thommy is a dispicable waste of good breathing air. Amazing another Schultz column and another jab at Spurrier. Quarles wasn’t called for a penalty on the play but still gets suspended.Why not mention the Alabama player imating the WWE who only had to say he was sorry? Ever since the History Channel did that expose on Kentucky (The Hatfields and the McCoys), their historic success was shown to be from putting bounties on their opponents and then just sitting back, waiting for the scalps to come rolling in. Since they lost that edge (1902), they have just been pathetic losers. The only reason they are in the SEC is to get Georgia a win every year.

I am certainly not impressed with Florida, either. They beat LSU; that’s more than Mark Richt has done the Current Entire 5 Seasons. Let me see my bitter Rival is Florida by far. With Mark Richt’s 3 wins in 17 games against teams who made Top 10 all 12 years now 18 percent chance of winning. This is what typifies FSU football forever. Cupcakes. Nothing but Cupcakes. Booby Bowden once was asked why he joined the ACC rather than The SEC. Booby offers up that what ? Am I stupid, or what ? Which would you rather ? This schedule 2012, or playing Alabama, LSU, South Carolina instead ? I thought it would give us a better chance at getting into the national championship discussion, if we played in the ACC. So, I joined the ACC. Then, I said why should I let the bad actions of some of my historically undisciplined players, cost my whole football team ? No. I’m not suspending him. It would be punishing my football team, who did nothing wrong.
So, he retired from football with the 2nd most wins ever by a football coach on the field in 1-A FBS wins. Against nobodies. Now, of course, Penn State’s Joe Paterno, whom Booby Bowden LOST the most wins ever by a coach when Booby Bowden retired despite his attempt to alter his schedules by joining the weak no top team ACC, while Joe Paterno joined the Big 10. (They never did count Penn State as the Big XI.) Now, Joe Paterno has fewer wins than Booby Bowden. What does Booby have to say about that ? I am the greatest, and Joe Paterno a bum. That’s what he has consistently said after being FIRED by FSU.

Good news for Vol fans. Peyton Manning is in KnoxVegas for the Bama game. It was discovered late yesterday that he has about 3.5 hours of eligibility left (some accounting error) so he will be under center for the game today.
