Video: It’s Winnersville! We talk Braves, Falcons, UGA

Are the 4-0 Falcons for real? Are the Georgia Bulldogs SEC title contenders? What can we expect from the Braves in the playoffs? CineSport’s Tara Petrolino and I discuss them all in this week’s video blog.

Somehow, Georgia Tech did not make it into the conversation.

If they were smart, they would just do away with the entire Tech football program. They never do anything and simply average 7-8 wins a year. Was pretty funny to see maybe 25,000 in the stands Saturday at “historic” Grant Field.

I guess Stinger2 is still sad. It’s OK! You guys might beat Duke and BC to end up 5-7. Hey that’s almost .500! At least you won’t have to deal with your annual bowl loss this year.

Great article schultzie. I have a feeling you got the idea from my numerous posts about already enjoying several perfect weekends this seasons with Georgia, the Falcons and Braves all winning and the north avenue trade school losing. I have eased off the tech comments because I find no pleasure in rubbing salt in wounds.

A credit to my posts that inspired this article would have been nice but that’s okay. You and I know what inspired this story.

Supersize, it’s the D that’s killing the Jackets, similar to the problem UGA had when Willie as in charge of our D.

PJ, like Richt, is hardheaded and egotistical, and hates to admit he failed in a hire (Groh). PJ also knows, as did Richt in ‘08, his boss ain’t gonna fire him due to the $$$$ buyout, so they are slow to make a change.

If PJ gets a good DC, and a top recruiter, he’ll be back to challenging for the ACC.

I agree, pretty juvenile to go blasting into tech. I don’t care if a few of them get on the UGA blogs and trash us. Act as the bigger man and ignore it. Most fans of both schools have the class. Too bad there are those few rotten apples on each side that stand out as the tools they are!

Love to see the Braves pull a ST. Louis of last year out and win it all for Chipper’s last year. It would be a great send off.

Mr.Stinger2- As long as there are rivalries there will be differing opinions. As a native of the great state of Georgia I have always pulled for the home teams. My no.1 preference is the University of Georgia Bulldogs.I can pull for anybody else after them. In the case of those Jackets I am not a fan of the coach. He did take Chan Gaileys recruits and had a couple of good seasons but his recruits are not doing so well. You can always come to the other side and GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t believe Tech would lose to a non Big 6 school, AT HOME, so maybe they’re not the original Jackets either.

It’s clear that Coach is stubborn, but his smugness stops being amusing when we lose like this. The rest of our schedule looks like torture after this embarrassment. The sooner Coach Johnson is gone, at ANY cost, the better for the program.

“Dawgs will get spanked again in Columbia.” Again? 2 years ago they lost by 11 in Columbia. Still not going by the facts? Spanked would be more like, say 49-28 : ) In the three previous games before 2010 in Columbia, UGA won all three. Yea, should be a real spanking! Can’t wait to see what happens in Athens this year when the bugs comes to down. Should be hilarious. At Clemson this weekend should be a nice preview.

Ha ha. Love it. What I really don’t get is how/why Tech fans really get upset. Have you not seen that every year, except maybe once every 20 years, Tech wins between 6-8 games a year? Therefore, why are you surprised/upset? Face it, Tech is and always will be a second tier football team. Great work in those bowl games lately. Good evening!

Well, we are going to try blogging here again because our little buddy is out somewhere frying fish. That means we won’t have to worry about him showing up on our deck looking through our window like stalkers sometimes do. Now, we feel free to make some baseball comments. We hope the Braves are ready for a one-game shot at making the playoffs and we hope the team can get some runs and outscore their opponent. If they do, they will be wild card winners and there is something to be said for that if you haven’t been a wild card winner in awhile. If they don’t, then they will have once again failed to successfully compete with the elite teams in the league, No signs in the outfield can make up for that. No dogs in the park. No bobble heads. No Chipper send-offs. The Braves organization needs to deliver the fans a pennant and maybe this can be the year. Go Braves!

Jeff, did I miss it over the weekend? I saw no pic’s or comments from the Braves team ownership in reguards to Chipper and his fine career and send-off homestand weekend! And I don’t mean that tall accountant, CEO Terry McGuirk. We get one or two quotes from the Braves CEO in Spring Training and thats the end of it. Was Liberty in town? What did they do for Chipper? I’ll bet Bill Barthalomay was in town, he loved the Braves, always has.

This Dawg fan had really high hopes for GT this year thinking they would lose no more than 2, maybe three game. What I’m about to say is not a slam towards GT but I think CPJ is in over his head. I could be wrong but I think he was 20-7 with Gaileys recruits and 16-15 with his own. I’m not sure that Tech has even ACC caliber athletes on their roster now. He will not get them either pushing his offensive scheme to high schoolers and lets face it, every high school athlete aspires somehow to go pro one day. The defence is another story and we all know what needs done there. I just don’t see things improving under CPJ or any of the rest of his staff. Here’s saying good luck GT and with that being said, the Dawgs have their hands full Sat but I think we win a tight one….Go Dawgs

If Dan Uggla is a “notorious slow starter” we was wondering why the Braves don’t start him early? If he could get about 3 months of at-bats under his belt before spring training maybe he could hit an occasional ball before September. We was thinking with only three games left and three games back if the Braves wish they had let Uggla ride the bench a little during that prolonged slump? An RBI here and there instead of a strikeout or a popup might have made the difference in a few ballgames. Of course, he did have some pretty walks.

Notwithstanding the negative comments about Uggla @8:52, he is and will continue to be an important component of the Braves. No matter how much the ant-Braves fans rant, he is going nowhere else. He is a fierce competitor and leaves it all on the field after every game.
