The Falcons are 3-0. That includes two road victories (Kansas City and San Diego) and a home victory in ESPN’s coming out part for Peyton Manning. They have been impressive. But are they the best team in the NFL? I discuss this topic in living color with CineSport’s Noah Coslov.
And, action …

Aren’t we supposed to be talking football? I have been reading, but not commenting on this blog for a while, and the quality of the material posted in the comment section has gotten exponentially worse.
It seems like we have some people on this blog who clearly show no fandom towards the team being discussed, yet they continue showing up almost daily to argue with the fans. My question is why are these people even on here? Atlanta is a big city and I’m they certainly can find something better to do rather then talk about the team they dislike.
Anyways my rant is over. GO FALCONS! Beat them Kitty Cats!

To answer the question, Id rank the Falcons 2 or 3 right now. The Cardinals are severely underrated. But hey its only week 3.

I decided today not to pick on the Trolls ……………….heck, we need em on the blogs so we can rag em out when they are wrong and in a way I kind of feel really sorry for them cause it must really be bad when their mama’s have to go sweat it out all day long in the doldrums of a eight hour a day job hoping to get enough overtime to keep em in sphaghetti ‘ O’s and oodle noodles week in and week out………………..let alone paying the electric bill and keeping the internet turned on for them while they sit on their butts all week long 24 /7 bashing the new 2012 NFC Champs. our own late great Atlanta Falcons ! ! !
My wife told me today………why you even fooling with them Morons ? I said, ” Well baby, it helps me out alot to know that I won’t have to bash them everyday from now on out thru the Season simply because the Atlanta Falcons are going to take care of them out there on the football field and making them Trolls look like the retards they truly are…..you know what she said ? ……………………………………..nothing, just smiled and went on her way and did her things…………………………….
You know when the Season started ………..the Falcon Faithful was fired up and ready to cut loose with the Bravo’s for the Birds but then when we played Kansas City some were worried whether the Late Great new and improved version of the Birds could handle em……………me , I just sat back with no worries……….I knew they was going to win…………….then week two, uhoh…………..we in trouble…………..ole Manning was gonna put a whippin on us Ajax wouldn’t take out…………………………………..then what happen……………oh my, he’s got a problem with his arm ……………………..next up……………….oh my, the mighty chargers, we might lose to them………………………………………heck, we went out there and shut them down………………………………………………this week, we got ole Cam Newton……………look out , he might upset us……………………….seriously. I don’t think nobody on the Falcon’s schedule is going to beat them ……………………..unless…………..the Falcons do a complete flip-flop and turn vback into the past ………………………..it aint happening this year folks……………..those players smell the barbecue and they are hungry so just deal with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you really want to win, you don’t start Foles you start Edwards. Edwards is a game management guy. Dink and Dunk and no turnovers. Help out the OL by using three step drops and short passes. Next year you dump Vick, make Foles your starter and Edwards your veteran backup.

You mean to tell me that the Philly fans would rather have a QB who can dink and dunk versus a QB who holds on to the ball for 10 seconds and fumbles?

I dont know who keeps blogging MattCHOKERyan, but if it is YOU who thinks that Vick should be our quarterback instead of Ryan, you are making a HUGE MISTAKE. Like a blogger pointed out yesterday, when Vick lines up under center each sunday for the eagles to take snaps for the Eagles, it is analogous to a boxer going to the gym to work out on the punching bag. You keep hitting the bag until you knock all of the feathers out of it. Vick is like a human punching bag on sunday. He gets knocked around like a rag doll all afternoon its no wonder he keeps hearing footsteps and leads the league in turnovers by repeatedly coughing up the football. You mean to say you would rather have a TURNOVER MACHINE (Vick) rather than have a certain first-ballot hall of famer (Ryan) starting for your team at the quarterback position. Get a life, dude. Matt Ryan has changed his “choke” ryan and now he is the BEST QUARTERBACK IN THE LEAGUE. That is totally awesome to me. I hope it will be to you soon as well.

“a certain first-ballot hall of famer (Ryan) starting for your team at the quarterback position.”
What? I bet Joe Flacco and Phillip Rivers are sending you thank you letters… They are going in Canton under that bizarre rationale. I don’t care how much you love Ryan, there is nothing in his current, near, or remote resume that is going to get him in the Hall of Fame… That is way down the road talk at best… Whether Vick hater or lover, or you be a Ryan lover or hater, that is a silly statement!

And before someone throws out a silly most wins at the start of his career mess, what got Marino in was the fact that he threw for 168 TDs (twice eclipsing 40 TDs in his first 5 years), won 53 games, broke 4600 yds twice (including 5000 in 2nd season)…
The Hall of Fame for QBs is one of two things: Huge amount of Super Bowl titles (see Bradshaw) or Richter scale numbers (Marino, Fouts)… The three exceptions are Namath (one title but changed the face of football), Jurgensen, and Young (career cut short)…

JSS: good response. I will defend my hall-of-fame claim for Matty “Ice” Ryan. Matt Ryan, like the other former falcon Matt, Matty Shaub are both destined for the walls of canton, Ohio, headed for the hall of fame. Vick almost singlehandedly ruined matt schaub’s career. Fortunately, Schaub was watched and scouted well and someone out there saw that Schaub could throw the deep ball like nobody has ever done, not even Fouts, Marino, Tarkenton, Staubach or Bradshaw. Matt Schaub can throw the deep ball better than all of them and it was a farce that he was backing up the dogfighter (mike vick) for all those years. Fortunately Schaub got his chance and now he, along with Matt Ryan will both be enshrined in Canton after their playing days are over.

Schaub will never be in Canton… He has never stayed healthy enough for consideration, even if he were to put together three 16 game season in a row on the back side of his career… The best thing that happened to Schaub was leaving Atlanta and hooking up with a real elite receiver at the beginning of his career, Andre Johnson… The derisive term that you used for Vick said volumes… Schaub cannot blame Michael Vick for being injury prone (and vice versa)… The day they lucked into Arian Foster reversed the fortunes of the Texans and Schaub… It did not change the matter that he gets hurt more than Vick… If either QB had remained in Atlanta, they would be dead…

JSS: My point about Matt Schaub and Matty Ice is that BOTH OF THOSE ELITE QBS recently have gone over 100 TD passes for a career. Usually when that happens, 98% of the time, it means that you are headed for Canton, Ohio and enshrinement into the Hall of Fame. I have NEVER heard of a qb who threw at least 100 TD passes and didnt make the HOF. It just means that the Falcons already had an elite qb in Ryan, they could have kept Schaub and they would have been fine. Mike Vick also had the talent to make the HOF, but couldnt because his dogfighting operation was infinitely more important to him. Also, had Vick started his career with Andy Reid as his head coach, vick certainly would have been a shoo-in, certain, lead-pipe cinch to make the HOF. Now Vick will never make it but his atlanta jersey will remain in Canton–because Vick is the only QB in NFL history who ran for over 1000 yards at the qb position. That record will stand forever.

You haven’t had one QB since the last set of rule changes make the Hall of Fame simply because of the 100 TD milestone… Culpepper won’t make it… Cunningham won’t make it… Bledsoe won’t make it… And Kurt Warner is a question mark… Two of the latter QBs are eligible for Canton and have not made it far in consideration…
As far as Vick, he is what he is… People keep moving the line in their criticisms of him… First that he threw too hard and was inaccurate. Then it became it he can’t read defenses, then it became injuries… Said it before, and I’ll say again, the offensive line and receivers here were a joke… Only White, McClure and Clabo still survive in the entire league… Not just because of time, the others were drum out of the league. He made a massive mistake in getting on Knapp’s bad side (ask TO). There is no excuse for not doing your job in preparation. It took Paul Petrino to get through to White about the craft of receiving… Roddy did former WR coach George Stewart a huge disservice in not being dedicated as well… Michael Jenkins as a no. 1 receiver? JSS: Kurt Warner WILL make the HOF because first of all he has the numbers to get in, and additionally his Rams in the 2000-2002 presented the NFL with the greatest offense the NFL has ever seen (the Greatest Show on Turf). Those offenses with potential HOF receivers Torey Holt and Isaac Bruce along with HOF running back Marshall Faulk could cut up a defense like a knife going through butter. During that 2-3 year span, even after former head coach Dick Vermeil resigned, those Rams offenses were the BEST Ive ever seen in the NFL. No one else has ever been able to carve up defenses at will, and strike with literally (lightning strike capability). Most offenses it takes them 12-20 plays to typically score…those Rams teams would march up and down the field in typtically 2-5 plays culminating in touchdowns and not field goals. Again, I have never ever seen more potent offenses in the NFL, and I see no problem with Kurt Warner getting into the HOF. Cunningham might make it because he was arguably the best athlete at the qb position. Culpepper wont make it because although he was great for one season, he reverted back to mediocrity and couldnt regain his all-pro form. As far as Vick is concerned, Vick, like Vince Young had all the ability in the world, but because they were mentally challenged as human beings, they couldnt relate to reality and continued living in a fantasy world and couldnt make reality happen at the highest level. Vick, though, will be remembered mostly for his turnovers, interceptions, fumbles and has created a vast library of football follies, mishaps, mistakes and blunders. Vick will fade into the sunset and will soon be replaced by a more capable starting quarterback.

JSS: I know you said that Matt Schaub will never get in Canton. I dont believe that for a minute. They said the same thing about Brett Farve and Brett turned out to be the greatest quarterback of all times. In spite of losing a piece of his ear in this past sundays contest, MATT SCHAUB THROWS THE DEEP BOMB BETTER THAN ANY QUARTERBACK WHO HAS EVER PLAYED IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. PERIOD. I know because I have seen them all play and Schaubie throws the bombs better than anyone ever has. The only other guy I thought who was flawless at throwing the deep bomb was Dan Pasterini of the old Houston Oilers team back in the day. Schaub and Pasterini are the best ever—then there are about 20 who are very good. Tarkenten, Warner, Stabler, Staubach, Aikman, Montana, Fouts, Namath, Bradshaw, Manning (Peyton) and at least 10 more. The two best ones I ever saw were Dan Pasterini and Matt Schaub was the absolute best.
