Falcons are looking special, and it starts with Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan says he feels more confident than ever, and it shows in his performance. (AP photo)

Matt Ryan threw three more touchdown passes Sunday and seems to have taken his play to a new level this season. (AP photo)

SAN DIEGO – The common refrain in football is that the quarterback gets too much credit when everything is going right for a team and too much blame it’s circling the drain. So let’s start with this: The Falcons aren’t 3-0 just because Matt Ryan seems to have morphed into Roger Staubach.

A defense that lost its best cover cornerback (Brent Grimes) in Week 1 forced four more turnovers and made the San Diego Chargers look anemic Sunday (three points). Ryan has a receiving corps that enables him to alter his targets (Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez) the way others laugh and change aim in a boardwalk shooting gallery (ducks, birds, wildebeest-looking safeties). There also is an obvious resilience about a team that bodyslams Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on a Monday night, then travels to the West Coast in a short week and humiliates a pretty good 2-0 team on its home field.

But it all starts with the quarterback.

The Falcons dismembered the San Diego Chargers 27-3, and Ryan was the centerpiece. He threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns in a 20-0 first half, after which almost everybody stopped paying attention. All of those Chargers fans who had claimed about a local TV blackout suddenly felt thankful.

Included in Sunday’s first half: Ryan, without even a semblance of a running game, engineered a 17-play, 96-yard touchdown drive in a rare late-summer heat wave that led center Todd McClure to say: “I’ve never had a feeling like that. I thought I was going to die. I thought I was going to pass out at any minute.”

Fortunately, the touchdown at the end was not a mirage. Neither was Ryan. He competed 30 of 40, which doesn’t account for a couple of drops and throwaways and a touchdown negated by a penalty. He has led the offense to 11 touchdown drives (eight thrown) in three games. He looks better and more confident in Year 5 than he did in 1, 2, 3 or 4 (not that he was bad before).

There is an edge to his game. There is no hesitation before his decisions, no happy feet in the pocket, not a hiccup in his delivery. He is finding ways to elude pressure, even in tight spaces and when the protection is collapsing around him.

Gonzalez said, “He’s really coming into his own. I think a lot of it has to do with maturity and his wanting to be one of the best, and [offensive coordinator] Dirk [Koetter] coming in and simplifying things.”

Ryan threw incomplete on his first third-down attempt of the game. His next nine passes on third down were completed. Eight went for first downs, one for a touchdown.

Who does that?

“When it’s third and long and we keep getting first downs, you know he’s doing something special,” tackle Tyson Clabo said.

Ryan is not big on talking about himself. But when asked about his confidence level whether his game had ascended to the next level, he didn’t hesitate.

“I feel as confident as I ever have,” he said. “I think a lot of that has to do with experience — having good experience[s] and bad experience[s], and now realizing that I can do it. I can make the plays we need to make in order to win. And confidence comes from having a lot of talented guys around you. I think we have as good a wide receiver corps as any in the NFL. The other thing is, I’ve had time. We’ve thrown the football quite a bit and I haven’t been hit a lot. When you have those things around you, it helps you play fast, feel good and feel confident.”

It’s early. September isn’t a time for grand proclamations. But if the first three games are any indication, the Falcons have the look of a pretty special team, and Ryan is looking more like a quarterback who can get them there.

Ryan’s rookie year was one of the best for a QB in NFL history. The expectations were raised so high, everyone expected him to grow into a pro bowl QB by year two. But it takes time for an NFL QB to develop, and outstanding years by Ryan were criticized by some because they were not, shall we say, stellar. But he was a fine QB who got better every year.

Now, in year 5, we are seeing Ryan not only meet, but exceed the expectations placed on him in 2008. He has total command of this offense, and the Falcons front offense has done an outstanding job putting talent around him. If Ryan can continue at this pace, and there is no reason to believe he can’t, this team can put up 14 wins and make big noise in the playoffs. And Ryan should become the Falcons first NFL MVP.

having suffered for the most part for 40 years as a Falcon fan, sitting in the cold on a Jan 1981 night watching them collapse to the Cowboys and other diasters I have become somewhat cynical. However I do feel there is something different this year….a different attitude, maybe it’s the new coordinators. From the beginning seconds of all 3 games so far they have come out ready to kick butt. And have not let up for 4 quarters in evey game. Hope it’s for real.

The Grinch

September 23rd, 2012

Good win today. Apparently it really WAS the coordinators. Since Turner has lost two steps, they’ve figured out to wear out the opposing D with the no-huddle and screens and then use Turner late when they’re too tired to tackle him. Anyone think Mularkey wouldn’t still be running him up the middle 20 times in the first half for 2 yards a carry? And you can’t tell me the same players on defense just suddenly “figured it out.” Nolan is vastly superior to VanGorder, and apparently to Spagnuolo. Glad we lost that bidding war. Imagine if Grimes were healthy.

The Falcons just dominated the Bolts on the road, on a short week and a west coast trip. Only you’re delusional mind could conger up a scenario where the Chargers would steamroll the Falcons. The only way that happens is if Mike Vick was still our QB. But then we damn sure wouldn’t be in the Super Bowl.

After three games, the Eagles could easily be 0-3 rather than 2-1. Ron had 6 INT’s in his first two games. He did much better today, no picks, just two fumbles, both recovered by the Cards, and one returned for a TD!
I believe Mr. Mexico’s QB rating is about half of Ryan’s. Makes one wonder which QB should be wearing the “Choke” collar. (Pun intended).

I actually watched a few minutes of the Falcons’ game. I like Arthur Blank and I like Mike Smith. We’re a passing football team, and getting Julio Jones, was the statement of this. Mike Nolan’s Defense looks really good. We are solid on special teams. As a franchise, for the 1st time ever, we have it going on. We’re not a joke. Having given up on my Falcons’ seasons’ tickets, we might actually have some fans now.

I am a Bulldogs’ fan. We do not beat the top teams, and never have in the entire Mark Richt era, comparing what the other SEC programs have done to what he has done, in the Mark Richt era. I went to the game Saturday night and it was a beautiful game and beautiful evening – then, again it was hapless Vandie who has no offense with their # 78 NCAA Total Offense. Vandie’s only win all season long is against Presbyterian college.

Mark Richt era has shown that of just SEC teams against teams making the AP Poll Top 10, Mark Richt is # 8. We are ranked # 5 consensus ranking today. We have not played anyone and do not play anyone as both Florida and South Carolina end 2012 nowhere near the AP Poll Top 10. Where we are ranked today, or them, has nothing to do with where they end up. We will not lose to anyone on the “schedule” and have then our hats handed to us by Alabama, who has 6 wins over teams making the AP Poll Top 10 in the Mark Richt era, 2 times what Mark Richt has accomplished.

Alabama is nowhere near what the other SEC programs in the Mark Richt era have done against teams making the AP Poll Top 10. Auburn, for example, almost got its 12th win in the Mark Richt era against teams making the AP Poll Top 10 Saturday.

When is Mark Richt going to win the big games, if ever ?

Certainly not after 2012, as in 2013 we face Alabama having lost our defense.

The last time we were 4-0 to start the season, we had an off-season much like this off-season was. We started out ranked very highly, and beat not 1 team who beat any team making the Top 25, even. We ended up # 13 in the AP Poll 2008, and it was the most unsatisfying season of the entire Mark Richt era.

1 team has it going on, and has built a foundation for the future. The other team has not done diddle-e-squat at beating the top teams, has a foundation 2012 of playing 12 games against teams who only 1 of which make the Top 25.

What we did today against San Diego is far better than what we did Saturday against hapless Vandie. I see Aaron Murray ran up his stats against another cupcake; he will never be able to run the football ever in his lifetime – so please quit with this, let him run the ball more. He is currently ranked outside the # 100 in the NFL draft, and will never throw a pass in his lifetime in the NFL.

doesn’t look good for the saints. From Elias: “The Saints fell to 0-3 with a 27-24 overtime loss to the Chiefs, and New Orleans’ record might actually be worse than it sounds. Washington, Carolina, and Kansas City, the three teams that beat the Saints, are all winless in their other games. Only one other team in NFL history–that’s dating back to 1920–started a season with a 0-3 mark, losing to teams that were 1-2 after their first three games. That was the 1989 Cowboys, who finished the season with a 1-15 record.”

The Falcons have been successful because Mike Nolan has installed a defense that plays solid and they take the ball away. Hence, Matt Ryan and company get another opportunity to put points on the board. That offense can be pretty high powered. Now crush the Panthers and let’s roll. GO Falcons!

It is a long season. A long way from playoffs and Super Bowl. Falcon fans just sit back and enjoy a 3-0 start. As a longtime suffering Falcon fan I can say that the “Dirty/Angry Birds” of the last few years sure look a lot better than the days of winning maybe 4 or 5 games. Super Bowl or no Super Bowl I`m enjoying what I see from the Falcons.

And I`m loving what I see from the Ants! 0-3 LOL!

It’s true we need to temper our enthusiasm a bit considering how early it still is. But considering the rest of the schedule through the bye (Car @ home, @ Was, and Oak @ home) this team could easily be 6-0 at the bye and in a commanding lead in the South. Still, the four games after the bye will really test us and we will really see how good this team is. @ Philly is always tough for us as is Dallas for some reason. Then we have to deal with a desperate Saints team who may be in a position of playing spoiler by then.

In summary, we have a great start to build on and I believe the we can easily be 6-0 at the bye but we will really find out about our playoff chances during the 4-game stretch just after the bye…

Best QB in franchise history, top 11 from 2011, best QB rating of ALL NFL qb’s through first three games…..and NO ONE knows about it if you watch any of the national sports shows. I’ll say it again….Matt Ryan will win multiple superbowls….the question is….with what team will he do it? 2013……contract year…..will Arthur…..does Arthur….have what it’s going to take? And even if he does….does Ryan WaNT to return to a franchise that refuses to make the moves to win a championship. These are the real questions…..not this ridiculous arm strength crap. Arm strength? I asked “Choke” a serious question last season, that did he think that maybe it was Ryan’s OC who was holding him back, and he responded with some crap about Ryan’s “noodle arm” blah, blah.

In all my years pulling for the Falcons, this is the most solid group I have ever witnessed. From the coaching, the offense, and now the defense. I have seen many good teams over the years, but this group has started off as a complete unit. Better than the 13-3 team, better than the Super bowl team…to come off an emotional Monday night win, go to the west coast and destroy San Diego on a short week says a lot. I am just so impressed by the overall product on the field…..this could be special!

Brown paper grocery bags are already being reported in short supply across southern Louisiana.
Karma is usually first identified from the outside looking in. Saints fans likely blame the league, the officiating… anyone and anything other than those who earned it.

Also, if the Falcons beat the Saints this year and if those wins somehow eliminate the same from playoff contention, those old yellow ‘I Hate The Falcons’ tee shirts (from the ’70s) may go on sale again as well.

I’m hard of Matt Ryan because I can see his weaknesses, but what he does well, he does really well. And what Dimitroff and the Falcons did was bring pieces around him that compliments his strengths and minimizes his weaknesses. So they put together a wide target TE, a big target clutch receiver and a big play receiver.

Plus, the O-line can pass-block. But they were good last year (If you can count to ‘3-Mississippi’ while in the pocket, you have good pass blocking!) And with the addition of Harry Douglas and the speed-back, it’s a really nice offense!

For the first time in me looking at the Falcons, I see no holes in the offense. You have a quarterback that gets the ball out fast and can read defenses. You have a good line that can pass block (but isn’t really good at run-blocking.) You have a bruiser-back. You have a scat back. You have a big clutch receiver. You have a big-play receiver. You have a Hall-of-Famer at TE. I mean, No Holes!

But can we stop a second and talk about the real player of the game? Thomas Decoud?! Please? Did he ever step up! That secondary is playing outside of the skill level right now!

Kramer

September 24th, 2012
9:43 am

Manny, every QB in the NFL has a weakness or two or three or four. DeCoud, Ryan, the secondary are playing better because they have coaches with great schemes. The Steelers D have been solid for years because they have one the best D coaches in the league. You can say the same for the Ravens and Eagles for the past 5 years. Bottonline, the best off season pick ups were coaches.

Good points. I’m liking what I see this far but two things are awaiting on the horizon: A close tight game where they have to fight back to win; a team like the Giants with a defensive live so strong we will struggle with protection and keeping Matt upright.

However, our defensive intensity coming off a short week, traveling cross country, and playing in 110 degree heat was most impressive.

The Saints cheated, pure and simple. Are they the first? No. Will they be the last? No. But they are the sloppiest. Their suspended coach is a junkie. Their fans are A-holes. Their city is a crime-riddled cesspool. Its a long season and anything can happen. The Saints have the worst defense in football and Brees is the 28th rated quarterback in the rankings. Yes the Falcons could hit a rough patch. Injuries could trip them up. The one thing that you can count on though, is The NFL’s Last Place team (The New Orleans Saints) will NOT be going to the playoffs. And if you think Roger destroyed the Saints, then you must also credit him with their temporary rise to prominence, because he suspended Mike Vick. Of course any rational human being will tell you… If you do the crime, be prepared to do the time!

It doesnt matter if the refs all lined up behind the LBs. The Aints cannot stop the run. Washington ran all over them for 153 yards. Carolina sucks (really bad) and ran all over them for 163 yards. Atlanta beat the crap out of a really bad Chiefs team (I know they are bad because all you Taints fans said so after week 1) but the Chiefs ran for (omg this post is taking forever because of the laughing) 273 yards. J Charles had a 90+ run and WAS NEVER TOUCHED yesterday. LMAO

Both Oline and Dline playing well. When that happens in the NFL, good things happen. Both of the Falcons picks were on passes where a Falcon was in the face of the QB. And the OLine is giving Ryan time to throw. He is not getting ‘Bradey like” protection, but it is good.

“Goodell has made it his personal quest to destroy the Saints.”
Although, this would make Goodell my favorite person, Tom Benson has been at this job for much longer and has much more experience.
The Aints are reality imitating art. Ever see Major League? Benson has wanted to move this team to (anywhere) SoCal for years and years. His best chance was during that little rain storm a few years back but FEMA and the NFL forced him to come back from San Antonio. The plan was to just keep trucking west.

@Jimmy: You don’t get any points on the field of play if you catch the ball and the ground causes it to become dislodged. The rule in the endzone is different so as to remove any doubt. You have to maintain possession through the end of the play, including landing on the ground, cause six points are at stake. On the normal field of play, the reciever gets the benefit of the doubt, in the endzone, he has to earn it.

Want to see how the Aint’s diehards really feel about their team. They’ve completely given up. I guess we really aren’t the worst fans after all. Check out their fan forum and read the laughable comments. http://saintsreport.com/forums/f2/

I tried to get in after the Broncos win but couldn’t. So I have several comments.
1) The Broncos and Manning got out-coached last week. To be able to confuse Manning after 15 or so years in the league is saying something.
2) The defense seems to be running a “jail-break” defensive scheme. The oppositions’ offense can’t figure who is playing where.
3) I never thought a change in the coordinators would make such a difference. This Falcons team looks like a different and much improved bunch from last year.
4) Some team will figure out how to combat both the offensive and defensive schemes eventually so the coaches will have to stay alert and nimble.
5) It is early yet and injuries always play a big part of a season. If Ryan got hurt and was unable to play for several games or the rest of the year, it would be devastating. So let’s stay real about the season expectations.
6) And finally – let’s not turn this thing into a JSS and Matt Choke Ryan blog. That’s exactly what they want. Ignore them and eventually they will go away.

Crazy talk to from a crazy person…

It always great to read what some phony savant prevails to say: “what they want.” This has always been and always be about what a team has or has not done. Of course, simple minds make it something personal. You can swing, spin, or distort that anyway you like. But in the end, that is all it is… And most of you are like the German when they finally beat the French for the first time back in 1870s. They aren’t satisfied with finally having a little success and building on it in the right way for the right reasons, enter visions of grandeur… And just like those delusions of grandeur, many of you are smelling your top lips again… All long distance runners know you rarely win a marathon in mile 5 unless your vastly superior… So, I’ll be around at 26 mile marker, you better pray (and that is always the case) you don’t fail… So keep being childish, not in the least bit deterred by it all.

Wow, the song just remains the same with this guy, JSS the Troll, doesn’t it?

He is SO much better than all of us rubes. He is so much smarter. So much more awesome. So much, um, MORE.

I don’t know what’s more depressing: his constant need for self-validation about how much better he is than everyone else here to compensate for the miserable failure that was his own career, or the fact that his arrogant smugness seems to have no end.

This poor man. This silly, little, petty man. Read his words. See his disdain and hatred of all us “normals” that he is so far above. What kind of massive personal and professional failures have gone into creating a monster such as this? This is not a good guy. This is not a guy who is well-liked, and he can’t ever figure out WHY!

WHY he is avoided by coworkers. WHY he is the guy who gets downsized, when he’s obviously so much smarter than the stupid drones with which he works. WHY he never seems to get ahead when he is so brilliant.

Pity this poor, petty man, people. Pity him. Don’t be angry with him. Pity his out-sized ego and overdeveloped sense of his own entirely mediocre intelligence. Pity him for his broiling anger at all of us stupid normal people. What a sad waste of a life, for JSS the Troll.

I HEARD A BIG “THUMP!!!!’ IN SAN DIEGO ON SUNDAY. WE SMACKED SOME HEADS AROUND OUT THERE ON THE WEST COAST. OUR FALCONS PERFORMED TOGETHER. THEY HAD EACH OTHERS BACK. THEY WERE COMMUNICATING AMONG EACH OTHER AND WITH THE COACHES. THEY WERE OPERATING IN “ONE HEARTBEAT!!” FORM. AND THE ULTIMATE RESULT WAS SAN DIEGO GETTING “THUMPED!”. I , PERSONALLY, WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE DEFENSE. THEY ARE GETTING BETTER EVERY GAME AND ARE PLAYING WITH A HELL OF A LOT OF “SWAG”. I CAN FEEL THEIR ENERGY AND ANGER ON THE FIELD. THE OPPOSITION HAS TO BE REALLY AFRAID OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITH OUR FALCONS. LET’S MAKE THEM SCARIER WHEN THEY COME TO “OUR HOUSE’ : THE GEORGIA DOME ON SUNDAY. CAROLINA , GET YOUR POP CORN READY. YOU’RE GONNA GET “THUMPED” IN “ONE HEARTBEAT!!”. THUMP!!

THE SCARY PART ABOUT ALL THIS IS THAT MICHAEL TURNER LOOKED LIKE THE OLD , NEW AND IMPROVED MICHAEL TURNER. HE WAS BLASTING THROUGH THE LINE LIKE AN ANGRY ANIMAL , WITH ONE OBJECTIVE IN MIND, TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. YOU CAN FEEL HIS POWER WHEN HE RUNS LIKE THAT. AND YOU CAN SENSE THE FEAR OF THE DEFENDERS TRYING TO STOP HIM. PLEASE MICHAEL, KEEP RUNNING LIKE THAT!! THAT’S YOU. THE OTHER GUY, I DON’T KNOW. HIDE HIM SOMEWHERE , NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN. THE “BURNER” WAS BACK, YESTERDAY!! HE WAS BACK IN “ONE HEARTBEAT!!” DON’T EVER LEAVE US AGAIN!!!!

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must be crazy for even attempting to have a coherent conversation with Choke or JSS but here goes. All of your pathetic playoff arguments about MR could have been said about Peyton Manning after his 5th season and 3rd straight playoff loss. We all know that he turned out to be pretty good. As far as I can tell, only the Cards game was really on Matt Ryan in terms of playoff defeats and that .was his rookie season. The GB loss happened because we couldn’t stop Rodgers from throwing 50 yard completions. Last year was the fault of a nonexistent offensive line. Fix both of those, as I believe we have this year, and watch out!

No punkin. See, Vick throwing all those interceptions and fumbling isn’t “clutch”. Forcing the defense to win games for you isn’t “clutch”. It’s called being a bad QB. You can see where he is on passer rating waaaaay at the bottom of the charts. Don’t bother looking at the top, that’s where Ryan is. ha ha ha ha :) :)

You may as well jump on the RGIII bandwagon. Cuz Vick will be lucky to even finish the season without getting benched. :) :) :)

Wow, now somebody understands why I wanted Schaub under center in Atlanta.

reprinted without permission:
“Right now we’re with Michael. We’ll evaluate it as we go,” Reid said, via CSNPhilly.com.

This wasn’t just coachspeak. Reid knows exactly how those words will play in Philadelphia and in Vick’s noggin. You don’t hear Bill Belichick say he’ll “evaluate” Tom Brady. John Fox doesn’t say Peyton Manning is his quarterback “right now.”

It might seem unfair to compare Vick to those two players, but those are the expectations. Vick earns $12.5 million this year and $15.5 million next year. That’s assuming he’s even around next year.

Reid wouldn’t make this weak of an endorsement of Vick unless he had another option. Rookie Nick Foles was highly impressive in the preseason and Reid might want to take a look at him. It’s possible Foles would be a better option behind a leaky offensive line.

Vick has officially been “hit” 28 times this year, which is the highest number of the NFL. The FOX broadcast counted 21 hits for him on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, which is an outrageous number. The offensive line deserves a lot of the blame, but Vick’s decision-making is part of the problem. He’s accounted for four touchdowns this year and turned the ball over nine times.

If Vick doesn’t turn that ratio around, Reid’s evaluation will only get tougher.

Getting Assante and Mike Nolan were two very good moves you guys made that will probably pay off. But the season is still young and you still have ur division to go through and you have to come see a very pissed off Philadelphia team for what you did to Vick last season.

@claucworc When you say, “what we did to vick” are you referring to the legal hit that was placed on him causing him to fall into his own team mate, knocking him out, and causing to spit up blood because the guy is to cool to wear a proper mouthpeice or button his chin strap. Like many of the problems with Vick, I dont see how that is anyone’s fault but his own.

Why do people fear the future? Because proves how wrong they were. Like MV7 was tounted as “revolutionizing” the QB position….(Like the QB of the future would not understand blocking schemes, lol). No, the future exposes us, and when you are afraid to be exposed, that is cowardice.

On thing I agree on is we only have a limited number of playoff opportunities, so you do have to capitalize when you are there, but it takes a special player to keep getting back, year after year, despite past failures. That is the player that breaks through. I don’t remember Ken Obrien responding to losing playoff games by coming out looking like the best QB in the NFL the next season.

No, Ryan is doing what Vick never did, he is getting better.

Answer this…as I recall, JSS never gives you an “outright pick” on a game…he’s too good for that. He’s more nuanced, see. You can never truly understand JSS, he’s kind of like the anonymous, blogger version of the Most Interesting Man in the World.

Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent. And not able to be pinned down to any one team, any one city, any one country, or any one…prediction.

After all, you can’t spell “Jesus” without J-S-S.

Instead, JSS will tell you things like…”the Falcons are going to have real difficulty stopping the run” or “talk to me after a 5-hour flight to the west coast following a Monday Night game” or “Decoud can’t cover anybody and is always out of position” (all of those quotes are made up…so don’t bother calling me on them JSS.) So perhaps you thought JSS predicted the Falcons would lose…he merely wanted to give that strong impression without actually pinning himself down to anything that could later be used against him.

Oh, wow. What in the wide, wide world of miserable failure has gotten into poor, pitiful JSS the Troll?

More of the same, always the same. But unlike a broken clock, he’s not even right twice a day.

All he is, is a pitiful waste of humanity. All bile and venom and hate and anger. He’s “above all of us.” He doesn’t have a “team.” Having a favorite team is “below” him. It is for the normals. It is for all of those beneath his particular brand of mediocre brilliance.

He’s the kind of guy who bemoans the fact that no one else can appreciate him, appreciate his (lack of) wisdom, appreciate his ridiculous ability to google-search whatever half-truth stat he wants to prop-up whatever ridiculous statement he wants to make.

JSS the Troll… he’s the Cliff Clavin of Schultzie’s Blog. Well, an angrier, more pitiful, and less-sympathetic version of Cliff Clavin.

No one wants to be around him. No one likes him. He’s a professional and personal failure. He drones on and on and on about his own self-supposed brilliance, telling ALL of us how it “really is,” not realizing at all that absolutely no one takes him seriously. We just pity him.

Keep talking Cliffie. Keep talking. You’re a dullard. An angry, silly, miserable failure of a zero. And an internet Troll, the absolute lowest-common denominator of the human condition. You’re like if Cliff Clavin and Howard Wolowitz made a baby. And you wonder why, in the darkest corners of you mind, why you’ve been fired, why your coworkers can’t stand you, why your circle of friends shrinks, why no one appreciates you and all you “offer” the world.

Such a sad, sad, pitiful man. Such a waste of your completely average, President Not-Sure intelligence.

Sounds like Georgia, to me – only at Georgia we are well past fed up with it and have let the players know.

________
Tyler Bray
________

Tyler Bray does not attempt to run like so many DISNEYdawgs.com posters say that Aaron Murray, can.

He cannot.

Tyler Bray in 20 games played has a grand total of 52 college rushing attempts.

Aaron Murray in 30 games played has a grand total of 193 college rushing attempts.

Tyler Bray is an NFL Quarterback. He might be a 1st Round Draft Pick.

Aaron Murray is not. And, will never throw a pass in the NFL – outside the top 100 in the draft.

Tyler Bray averages fewer rushing attempts per game than Aaron Murray is sacked per game.

Aaron Murray, despite the BS to the contrary, averages 1-yards per carry on his carrier of 7 carries a game. And, Tyler Bray does not have the 24 fumbles that Aaron Murray has either, since he does not even try to run the football.

We have Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall and Ken Malcome; what we do not need is for Aaron Murray to be a ball hog at the goal line instead of giving it to them instead. And, we certainly do not need Aaron Murray on a called running play.

___________________________________________________________
Now, the vols’ game is different; because the vols have no rushing offense and no rushing defense.
___________________________________________________________

So, because they have no rushing defense, little Aaron Murray will be looking to correct his stats. When his college career is over, he will have 40 fumbles and 1-yards per carry, and sooner rather than later, you need to get over typing online about his

After the way the Packers lost tonight, you know they are going to take it out on their opponent this Sunday. The Saints play at Green Bay on Sunday! 0-4.
RGIII is at Tampa, and the Birds simply need to take care of business in the Dome.
The Falcons could be sitting on a ridiculous 3 game lead over TB and Carolina, and 4 over winless Femaville! Sunday is the last day of September!
Right now the odds makers have ATL, TB, and GB as favorites. They also have the Eagles over the Giants! The Eagles are lucky they are not 0-3. I’d take the Giants in that game.

Everybody kept making the comparisons of Mike Vick vs. Matt Ryan. Well now after ryan being in the league for four years–we know the answer to that question. Sure Vick has a better contract and has more athleticism than Ryan, but Ryan is the better prepared athlete and Ryan has studied the game more than Vick. Ryan looks more like a young peyton manning and Vick looks like a drunken Vince Young. If you compare the current stats–Vick leads the league in turnovers, while Ryan leads the league in touchdown passes, yards gained passing AND qb rating. Ryans qb rating is a massive 118 and leads the league, while Vicks qb rating is a paltry 38.9 and is scraping the bottom of the barrel along with the bottom feeders. Ryan is a sure bet, first ballot hall-of-famer while Vick is a easy target and a punching bag for opposing lineman. No matter how you slice it, I would take Matty “Ice” Ryan any day of the week.
