Win nationally, and you're in this hammock.
In the first two years of the “Sack Schultz” contest, I deluded you, the reader, into believing that you could pick college football winners as expertly as me.
Hah! It was a trick. Finishing 1,177th out of 6,978 entries last season was all part of a master plan into making you think that my secret system for picking winners was something as pedestrian as, “Eenie, Meenie, Miny, Moe,” when in fact it’s, “Eenie, Meenie, Jelly, Beanie,” something far more spiritual (kids: Google “Bullwinkle”).
But this year, I’m serious. There’s too much at stake. It’s why I’m also going to
Win among local entries, you'll get tickets to this game. (Johnny Crawford)
enter my dog, Lilly, in the contest as a backup plan, just to see if she can pick winners any better than me. (Her method of selection will be forthcoming.)
Let me start with the whopper prize: If you can pick winners better than me (and everybody else) among national entries, you will win a trip for two to Hawaii (valued at $5,000), including airfare and hotel accommodations.
If you pick winners better than any everybody else
Lilly: I'm coming after you, Schultz.
among local entries, you’ll win a fabulous package of goodies that includes two tickets to the always-sold-out Georgia-Georgia Tech game in Athens, a night’s stay at the Hotel Indigo in Athens, and two tickets to the always-sold-out Chick-fil-A Bowl.
Weekly national winners also will be awarded their choice of prizes from Fathead.com — my wife wants a Troy Polamalu Fathead on the bedroom wall; not happening — and weekly local winners will receive $100 gift cards.
The contest launches Aug. 24. Here’s all you do. Register for free online at AJC.com/go/sackschultz2012. The website has all of the details. Pick the winners of 15 games each week. There is a cutoff time for each round and game every week if you want to change your pick. That’s it.
This is when I’m supposed to wish everybody good luck.
So good luck.
Even if I don’t really mean it.

As a Tech Grad with a great love of predictive modeling, I plan to use the “Pretty Kitty Leilani” microscopic hairball analysis technique to pick my winners. We shall see…

Hey 1,2,3…if you were half as smart as you claim to be, since you think you’re so much better than people you’ve never even met, you would know all you have to do is take the “my_videos” directory out of the link. Try this one…

Okay seriously it’s time to bench CHOKE.
For 3 quarters in a dress rehearsal he stunk up the place with all those
dink & dunks.
Davis comes in for 2 plays and gets a 39 yard bomb for a touchdown.
CHOKE is not the answer.
Davis needs to start for Julio and Roddy to take the team to the
next level

In case you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend the article “Why Ask Why” by L. Jon Wertheim in the issue of Sports Illustrated on the newsstands now. It is a wonderful piece chronicling the friendship of Zach Cone and Johnathan Taylor, great friends and former UGA baseball players, and Chance Veazey, who also suffered a career ending spinal injury. What a testament to the heart, determination and don’t quit spirit of Taylor and Veazey. It gives one a bit of perspective on what is really important in life. Well done men. UGA can be very proud of these three former athletes. Our prayers go out for their continued progress.

You Liberals can’t even quote CARTOONS accurately. Bullwinkle said, “Eenie, meenie, *CHILI* beanie …” … it was a *CHILI* bean, not a jelly bean.

I can see it all so clearly—The ticker tape parade down Peachtree plus the police escort to PDK to board a private jet with 3 flight attendants waiting on me alone, serving up 18 year old scotch, lobster, King Crab and all the pineapple and filets I can stuff in my gut bound for Hawaii is a day I’ll most remember most—then I awoke.
