Over/unders: Dogs 9.5 wins, Jackets 8 (agree or disagree?)

The guys who set odds see Alabama winning 10 to 11 games, most among SEC schools.

Alabama (10.5), FSU (10) project to win most games in SEC, ACC

FLOWERY BRANCH — I’m out at Falcons’ camp today for a column I’ll be posting later. But until then, I just received these college football over/unders from the online sportsbook Bovada, which must have me on their email list because they think I’m a degenerate gambler (and I have NO idea how they came to that conclusion).

So I thought, well, here’s a good conversation starter. Below are all of the odds from Bovada. But

Which way would you go on Dogs? More or less than 9.5?

here are the ones that you’re probably most interested in. The over/under on Georgia’s win total is 9½. The over/under for Georgia Tech is 8.

For what it’s worth, I would go over on both.

The SEC schools listed: Alabama 10½, LSU 10, Georgia 9½, Arkansas 8½, South Carolina 8½, Florida 8, Auburn 7½, Tennessee 7½, Missouri 7, Texas A&M 7, Mississippi State 7½, Vanderbilt 6½, Mississippi 5½, Kentucky 5½.

The ACC schools listed: Florida State 10, Virginia Tech 9, Clemson 8½, Georgia Tech 8, North Carolina 7½, Miami 7, Virginia 6½, Duke 3½.

The odds on Georgia to reach a BCS bowl game are about 2.3-to-1 against.

UGA mandates that the penalty for athletes who are caught using illegal drugs is to be suspended for a minimum of 10% of the games for their sport. The regular season for football is 12 games. 10% of 12 games equals 1.2 games. When Richt suspends a player for one game, that’s only 8.3%, not 10%. Assuming that UGA plays in a post-season bowl game, it’s only 7.7%.

So how does Marvelous Marky explain that away?

I know it’s UGA, where mathematical skills are limited, but even Richt, who’s not very bright, should be able to handle a calculator.

Never mind, I forgot that Richt is a lowlife, cheating sleazebag. That explains everything.

LOL

Clemson showed the everyone the ACC deserves to be in a BCS game

Or how about VT oh yea they have a great success against top 5 teams what are they now 1-19 vs top 5 teams; yet VT is the best team the ACC has to offer

And then there is Tech against UGA; how is that going

LOL

During the 1986 Jan Kemp trial, Hale Almand Jr., a lawyer for UGA, offered a justification for the favorable treatment accorded the athletes, citing a hypothetical UGA player. “We may not make a university student out of him,” he told the jury, “but if we can teach him to read and write, maybe he can work at the post office rather than as a garbageman when he gets through with his athletic career.”

That trial exposed UGA for the football factory that it was, and exposed slimy Vince Dooley as a fraud and a sleazebag. It also derailed Dooley’s plans for a political career. That’s why we see the decrepit old fraud doing TV commercials even now.

Mark Richt is just the latest in a line of sleazy UGA coaches who coddle athletes and discard them after four years of football. He recruits illiterate morons he knows aren’t smart enough for college, but he doesn’t care, as long as they help him line his pockets with millions of dollars each year.

Suntanned Saint Mark isn’t all he appears to be, is he?

Hey Supersize: you are right about the 3 out of conference schools UGA is playing — we do have some control over that but we don’t control the SEC choices. Funny, a few years ago, UGA had one of the toughest schedules in the country when we had to play Bama and LSU in the same year — I didn’t hear anybody complaining then. I still think USC beats UGA — when Richt was calling the offense, we could beat Spurrier — but not Bobo — he is too predictable and inconsistent. The running game starts to work, and then he throws 3 in a row and has to punt — what an idiot.

________________

Agree on UGA’s OOC sked, but Tech and most other FCS (D-1A) teams do the same thing, unfortunately. The NCAA allowing FCS teams to buy wins is the most distasteful element of bigtime college football today. And it won’t change until strength of schedule is given more weight in the rankings.

Dawgfan, not sure what SECC game you watched, but outclassed?? Don’t think so. If not for 2 dropped sure T.D’S in !st Qtr, UGA would have been up 21 or 28-7. When you couple that with LSU had one first down at the half, i wouldn’t call that outclassed.

Oh, we were outclassed alright. Absolutely no better way to describe it when you lose by 32. Yes, most of the damage was done in the second half–but that’s when it counts! That was a disgraceful and inexcusable collapse. I just hope we earn the opportunity to avenge it in this year’s SEC CG.

8 for Tech is playing it very safe, with 10+ a very real possibility if the defense and special teams can just play at an average level (which would be an improvement over last season!). UGA SHOULD win all of their regular season games — but they won’t. The defense isn’t as good as the dwag propaganda machine would like folks to think, the QB SUCKS in any high pressure game (What is his record against ranked teams? Thought so.) and there is no proven running back. BUT, that being said, they have enough raw talent to win pretty much every game — just not the coaching or the self-discipline. If the OL comes together and stays healthy 10+ overall wins is a very real prospect. If they don’t, it will probably be more like 8 or 9. Either way not a bad season.

The university’s president, Dr. Fred C. Davison, announced his resignation in March 1986. The board of regents of the University System of Georgia issued a report in April implicating Dr. Davison and the Georgia athletic department, headed by Vince Dooley, who was also the football coach, in a pattern of academic abuse in the admission and advancement of student-athletes over the previous four years. Both Dr. Davison and Mr. Dooley denied improper conduct, but Georgia tightened academic standards for its athletes.

But we got to win!

It’s McGarity who’s gutless, look at the OOC. How many proud Dawg fans, who pay lots of $$ for season tix, really enjoy traveling to Athens, doing the whole gameday thing, to watch UGA play teams like Buffalo, Fla Atlantic & GA Southern?? Check McGarity’s OOCs when he was at UF too. You’ll see Buffale, Fl Atlantic, San Jose St, etc, etc. But then again UF did play for NCs ….
____________________

Hate to agree with a Tech fan on a football blog–especially a Tech fan who posts the same thing 3 times–but you’re dead right about McGarity. A coward’s coward as far as OOC scheduling. Hell, about the first thing he did when he got here was kill the Oregon home & home.

One thing you have to give Damon credit for is that he at least tried to schedule decent OOC games–and actually agreed to be fair about it by playing home & home. His aim in doing so was to “spread the (Bulldog) brand,” and it would’ve worked had he not been caught with his red & black britches down.

Agree with above.”I would say over for Tech, but I’m not sure about the psychological effect that an opening loss to VT will have on them. Tech is a soft program that folds easily when the chips are down. After they lose to VT their whole season could go down the drain. They could just give up. I didn’t watch Tech play much last year but against UGA they looked like they were just going through the motions. This program has no fight to it. Therefore, I say under for Tech. After they quit on the season and their depth problems catch up to them later in the year like always, they’ll probably only win 7 games after all is said and done.”

Medal Count 2012 London Olympics

A Gold Medal is NOT a Gold Medal

China has not 1 meaningful Gold Medal.

And, what is this list of Olympics’ Sports anyway ? Baseball is not an Olympic Sport, Cricket is not an Olympic Sport, but 5 Different categories of Badminton is ? Softball is not an Olympic Sport but Water Polo is. Sailing a 12 foot dinghy is an Olympic sport, Sailing an 18 foot dinghy is an Olympic sport, but NASCAR is not a sport. Golf is not an Olympic Sport, but Ping-Pong is. Football is not an Olympic Sport, but Synchronized swimming is ?

With that back-drop, here are the Gold Medals for China :

Synchronized Women’s 3 meter, Synchronized Men’s 3 meter, Synchronized Men’s 10 meter, Synchronized Women’s 10 meter, Ping-Pong mixed doubles, Ping-Pong Women Individual, Pin-Pong Women’s team, Ping-Pong Men, Trampoline Men, Badminton mixed doubles, Badminton Women, Badminton Women’s Doubles, Badminton Men, Badminton Men’s Doubles, 20-kilometer walk, Women’s 10-meter air bb pistol, Women’s 10-meter air bb rifle – do any of these 17, for example, really count ?

Are you trying to tell me that in China, these sports they won gold medals in are sports any one over there gives a rats’ behind about ?

17 Gold Medals China has are totally and utterly worthless. Not one of them is a Sport. Not one of them, if they were on TV here in The United States of America would anyone pay for a commercial on, nor even turn on to laugh at.

When you see the Chinese totals in Medal Count, ask yourself, what did China win a Gold Medal in ?

What ?

17 of China’s Gold Medals are without value, useless, insignificant, pointless, empty, rubbish.

belstaff jackets an advertisement for cheap chinese leather jackets whose webpages are attempted to be hidden without a single address for anything, while saulhorne is a man from Angola with chinese pic of a woman in here giving out information on Georgie tek football and how many wins he thinks they put up, and finishes off his post with an

advertisement.

I would say that is pretty typical of a Georgie tek fan

Using Richt’s current winning percentage algorhthyms, UGA will finish
8-4.

Algo 1:
Mark Richt is 4-10 against winning teams in last 2 seasons, that’s a 40% algo against winning teams, UGA gets 3 teams that meet this, GT, Auburn, and Missouri. 3 games x .4 algo against winning teams =
1 win, 2 losses
2 losses to GT, Auburn, or Missouri

Algo 2:
Mark Richt is 0 & 9 against teams that finish top 25, this is a 0 algo value. So Richt plays 2 teams that meet this in South Carolina, then Florida. 2 games x 0 algo against teams that finish top 25 =
2 more losses to South Carolina & Florida
As a cross check algo 3, Richt has a 0 against South Carolina since 200, and a 0 career algo against beating Florida consecutively in his career at UGA.
2 more losses

So, UGA finishes 8-4, and that’s going by his 2 year algorhythms, so it’s a certainty.

funny...

You can stick a fork in Tech. They’re done. The Johnson experiment is almost over. The pitiful talent level on the flats is about to take it’s toll and I pity the poor coach that has to come in and try to win with Johnson’s talent.

Georgie tek does not care. All they care about is they beat Mark Richt once in 11 tries. They are fine with that.

Lovin the GT schedule in 2012. Clemson? We whooped them last year, they have nothing on defense, we might score a 100 on them. NC? CPJ is 3-0 vs. these guys. Miami? They’re so far down no one has them top 25. VT? Nothing on offense, they just can’t hang with the GT scoring machine, look for a 40-10 type of score. UGA? Their special teams are the worst of anyone we play, they can’t run the ball, dline is a bunch of 400 lb slugs who can’t move, look for us to beat them 35-21, they havn’t faced the kind of speed they’ll see against us.

Well I come back on here(I have a life and do not blog all the time like some of you) to see that I was called a liar and that my comment about Muschamp riled some dude called Tampa gator.

First to 5150, dude you are beyond weird. So what I said Army instead of West Point. You are pathetic and waste of my time responding to you.

Second, to Tampa guy, All I will say to you is when UF is just an average team winning maybe 6-7 games a yr.(if that many) don’t be crying about how YOUR coach is terrible.
Also I did not say Goff was better than Muschamp. I believe he will be like Goff, recruit well, coach not so well.
GOT THAT.
Other than friends I have who support UGA, UF, Tech, etc. it doesn’t really matter to me how well these teams do.
I wish all of you a good day and God Bless!

I see Tech going 9 or 10. UGA will get two losses and will not go to the SEC championship. Doesn’t matter who goes from the east they will not beat LSU or Bama. Just don’t want to watch a rematch of a game in the national championship. If they both go again, it will be even lower rated than last years game.
