Hello. I am back.
Weekend Predictions, which like college football has no playoff system and often makes no sense, one difference being our advisory board has the built-in excuse of the shiitake’s mutant and illegal cousin, traditionally returns for one bowl edition.
It has been another profitable season. W.P. Inc. is 26 games above .500 against the line. But of course all I get are no tips, no thank-you notes, just emails that read, “Ya moron! Ya picked the Gators to beat the Dawgs! Coach Richt is going to smite your liberal West Coast beehind! Hey Marge, I got him good. Pop-Tarts ready yet?”
OK, let’s make this quick. Too many games to get to.
Georgia has had a good week. There has been no news of academic suspensions — fill in name of oft-speculated freshman running back — and I think the Dogs already have clinched the 2012 SEC East title, given Alabama has been dropped from the Hostess-wrapped schedule.
Here’s a nice consolation prize for having their limbs ripped off by LSU: sunshine (Outback Bowl) and Michigan State (good defense but No. 60 offense). And to think, 12 months ago, Georgia was losing to Central Florida in the Liberty Bowl.
A season completed in the alternate universe: Dogs cover 3½.
Get Your Hands Off My Wings

It seems Paul Johnson will do anything to break a bowl hex.
Sun: Tech-Utah: Paul Johnson’s offense has managed only 24 points in the past three bowls. Al Groh’s defense has allowed 99 points in the past three games. Also, the Jackets haven’t won a bowl game since I think 1937. But wait! Here comes the Sun! Tech covers 2½.
Chick-fil-A: Virginia-Auburn: All-SEC running back Michael Dyer has been suspended for unknown reasons. Funny. Last year Cam Newton wasn’t suspended and everybody thought the reasons for one were obvious. Auburn covers 3.
Capital Uno: Nebraska-South Carolina: So now everyone’s giving Steve Spurrier a warm embrace for his coaching this year. Never mind that he took enabling to new levels with Stephen Garcia. The guy would go to an AA meeting and suggest everybody just switch to light beer if he thought it would help him win a game. Take the 2½ and Nebraska in an upset.
Urban Gator Bowl: Ohio State-Florida: It’s the “Beatles at Shea,” with Urban Meyer in the roles of all four Beatles. He’ll arrive by helicopter, sing “Twist And Shout” and “Can’t Buy Me Love” (he’ll lie) and then bask in the afterglow of his former and future kingdoms. Gators cover 2.
The Fab 1 . . .
Fiesta: Stanford-Oklahoma State: Andrew Luck, Stanford kid, noted this week that Frank Lloyd Wright had a winter home named Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Ariz., near the Fiesta Bowl. Yeah. I think he probably can read a defense. Cardinal covers 3½.
BCS Zit Of The Year: Virginia Tech earned its way to the Sugar Bowl by losing its last game to Clemson 38-10. Your honor: The prosecution rests. Michigan covers 2½.
Rose: Empire vs. Wisconsin: Just saw Oregon’s latest uniforms to be unveiled. The Ducks will make it to the game, assuming they don’t miss their connecting flight on the Death Star. Ducks cover 6.

First, we defeat Wisconsin. Then, we blow up Alderaan, Princess Leia's home in Ivy League.
Orange: Clemson-West Virginia: Once again, the Tigers have enough talent to overcome Dabo Swinney. Clemson covers 3.
Cotton: Arkansas vs. K-State: Bobby Petrino lost his three coordinators in the past few weeks. He hates it when people just walk out like that. Piggies win, but take K-State and 7½.
And, drum roll …
BCS Sorta Championship: Alabama over LSU: Yeah, I hate rematches, too. But these are the two best teams, and the best of the two didn’t win the last time because of a crooked-footed kicker. Not going to happen twice. Bama wins and covers 1.
NFL Fridge Pack

Artist's rendition of Jerry's head if Cowboys whiff.
Bucs at Falcons: I have a question for anybody who’s upset that the Saints drove to that final touchdown Monday night to get Drew Brees the passing record: Would you really feel that much better if the final score were 38-16? Falcons cover 13.
Cowboys at Giants: There are no bad outcomes here, Dallas losing and Jerry Jones spontaneously combusting when the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs again gets the edge over miserable New York fans. Giants cover 3.
Lions at Packers: The Lions can clinch the No. 5 seed with a win, and Ndamukong Suh is psyched. He just eye-gouged a Salvation Army bell-ringer in front of Kroger. It’s a risk, but take Packers and 3½ as a home ‘dog.

Sofia's starting job is safe. (Photo: WWD)
Redskins at Dream Team: It will be fascinating to watch Michael Vick vs. DeAngelo Hall in the playoffs. Oh, wait a minute. Eagles cover 9.
Chiefs at Broncos: Some survey just named Tim Tebow the most desirable celebrity neighbor for 2012. John Elway voted for Sofia Vergara, who did not throw four interceptions last week in Buffalo. Broncos wins, but take the Chiefs and 3½.
Chargers at Raiders: There’s something wrong with Norv Turner’s plane ticket to Oakland. It says “coach.” Oakland covers 3.

A puppy with their special olympics 2012 schedule talking smack about who someones plays?
Good lord…Word is after crying and pleading by UGA for the 2012 schedule they are going to push at the AD meeting that going forward only sub .500 teams should be allowed.
It is simply not fair that UGA has to compete against superior teams.

ladies and gentlemen, there you have it–a typical Schultz smorgasbord! the 2 obligatory homer picks, UGA and Tech, plus a lovely trashing of the 2 former Gator coaches who both beat Mark Richt like he was a government jackass. which by the way describes you to a T, Jeff (I know nothing), Schultz. what’s the matter jeffy? did you ask the ole ball coach a stupid question and he called you on it? or is it the fact that he and Urban just couldnt lose to the Dawgs?

Gee waiting for the AJC homers to predict a “huge” UGA win is like waiting to see if water poured out of the bucket goes up or down. Hint for UGA fans: Is will be DOWN.
Of course, the beaner is going to pick UGA, he also has them penciled in for a Super Bowl win later..

Nebraska’s QB would be mediocre if they played in the MAC. I’ll take S. Carolina.
Michigan St. has the best QB in the Big Ten, but that just hasn’t been enough. Wait, that’s the situation at Georgia, too. I’ll take Georgia by 17.
Utah is bigger on both lines. Brian Bohannon as OC may not be enough to overcome the Jackets’ defense. If that means CPJ is concentrating on special teams while looking over Al Groh’s shoulder, this game may come down to a punt return for a TD by Tech and 2 blocked field goals for the win.
Alabama has an SEC-grade QB; LSU does not. It’s still a mystery to me why Les Miles benched the starter and played with an “athlete” the last few games of the season. Alabama wins by 3 FGs.

ACC FSU just like ACC Tech needs a real offensive coordinator and offensive line coaching. This Champs sports bowl is just as sorry as the FSU-UF game, where both offenses went fishing for the whole sorry game. Notre Dame’s offense is playing poorly too. This game really has sucked so far. Notre Dame scored on a defensive return of a FSU fumble. Watching FSU & Tech on offense is like watching rugby or soccer ! LOL ! No wonder ACC Tech is 1-11 vs. Richt. SSIgator never forget UF is STILL 40-47-2 vs. Georgia even after 20 years of UF domination of the series. UGA STILL owns the Gators, never forget that my slimy, scaly friend. Go Dawgs !

Aren’t the top EIGHT (8) in the final BCS poll supposed to be in BCS bowls?
I’m still floored that Boise State (11-1) ranked #7 was playing BEFORE Christmas while VT (#11) & Michigan (#13) are slated for the BCS (Sugar) Bowl.
Yet another slap in the face to the players, alumni, and fans as the BCS pulls down its pants and whizzes in our faces again! Continuous exploitation of 18-24 year olds by the collection of suits at ESPN & the BCS. Back, back, back, back, back, back …… he, could, go, all, the, WAY. SEC office took it easy on Ala, LSU and Ark. They each missed having a sure loss by not having to play UGA next year. Take away the turnovers and punt returns (Yeah I know they count) and SC and LSU would have been whomped by UGA this year. LSU will lose to Ala in phony BC game again. I give Ala the first game due to the bad call by the SEC officials (worst in America) that took away a reception from Ala and made it an interception for LSU. The Ala receiver had both hands on the ball and in his possession when he was on the ground which means a reception and play is over. LSU player took ball from Ala players hands after play is over. In short Ala was ripped off by SEC officials. Reminds me of SEC oficials ripping off UGA when they gave AJ a personal foul and resulted in 15 yd penalty setting up LSU with a win. Something smells between LSU and officials.

kral and you don’t think some can get worse? You know some players are leaving and some will possibly get hurt. Isn’t that basically how the Preseason rankings go? They are based on what teams do this year. Ga Sou. will not be that good because they will have a new QB, but that is a FCS team. 3-9, 1-11 OOC teams are not going to get that much better to compete with UGa’s talent. You don’t really believe that Buffalo and Fla Atl can compete now do you? GT has the best record of the teams on the 2012 schedule that you beat. Well like you dawgs love to say 11-1 so Tech can’t even compete. That is 4 wins now add Vandy(5), Kentucky(6), and Ole Miss(7) and UGA is going bowling already. So Tenn, FL, and Auburn are your good wins and make (10). Mizzou is an Unknown on the road. USC has a D but can Shaw and Lattimore beat the dawgs?

The record of Tech’s opponents next year, excluding UGA, is 65-69 (I don’t include the UGA vs Tech game because if we are comparing records, Tech will amost always get more credit for playing Georgia than vice-versa, which is penalizing Georgia for being a better football team). The record of Georgia’s opponents next year, excluding Tech, is 63-71. So the winning percentage of Tech’s oppenents is .0149 higher. About 2/3s of the combined records were against respective conference opponents, so the winning percentage fails to account for the SEC being the #1 conference and the ACC being #4. Also, Georgia obviously beat more teams than Tech did this year, so opponent’s records are going to reflect that.

Nice season, W.P. Inc and thanks for the bowl predictions. I haven’t made up my mind about LSU – Alabama, but if Alabama wins it’s not good for the BCS or the SEC… Too much of a bad thing for the BCS, and too much of a good thing for the SEC. I’m not a fan of the rematch. Go Dawgs!

DawginTX You can’t count Ga Sou. a FCS team please they don’t count towards bowl victories so drop them. You have to count UGA in GT’s wins and loses. You do some funky math, but not UGA fans strong suit. You can’t try to manipulate the conference thing either. Like UGA fans love to say,” You just have to play the people on your schedule”.
No Matter it still stands that UGa fans should take a House payment amount to Vegas in the preseason and take the odds on the Dawgs to go 12-0. In a great year 5 or 6 teams have a real shot at going 12-0. By the 9th week that is usually 3 or 4 teams.

kral would love to play Tenn but they will not play us. We have tried because it is a great trip. We have history too. We are 17-24-2 against the Vols. last times we played Auburn Home & Home they were top 10 and Reggie ball beat them both times. Auburn had Campbell, Cadillac, & Aromashudu. We had BAMA but Bama wanted out so they could play in the Chick-fil-A kickoff game. We will get Auburn in a few years. We used to play Florida too with a record of 24-9-6 last played in 81.
