Could Sean Weatherspoon and Falcons be flying high going into playoffs? (Jason Getz/AJC)
At this point of the season a year ago, the Falcons had won eight straight games, were 12-2 and tied with New England for the NFL’s best record, had beaten New Orleans, Baltimore and Green Bay and generally looked like anything but a team that could lose its first playoff game by 27 points — which, of course, they did.
There’s an obvious byproduct to having a season suddenly going down like Pompeii. People stop assuming what comes next.
Which brings us to the 2011 Falcons. More people probably project them as a first-round playoff exit than a Super Bowl contender. But maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Athletes feed off external doubt, and the “Green Bay did it, so can we” thing is slowly evolving into this group’s rallying cry. (The Packers entered the playoffs last year as a NFC’s sixth seed and proceeded to obliterate all in their path, beginning with the Falcons.)
“All of our goals are still in front of us,” running back Michael Turner said following Thursday’s 41-14 dismembering of Jacksonville. “All we can ask for is to get in the tournament, and then we’ll take it from there. We saw what happened last year with Green Bay.”
The Falcons are 9-5. They will get into the playoffs. They’ve had more than a few hiccups this season but have rebounded nicely. After losing to Houston and getting humiliated for one half at Carolina (combined six-quarter slouch: opponents 40, Falcons 17), they rallied to beat the Panthers and bury Jacksonville (combined six-quarter bounce-back: Falcons 65, opponents 14).
Falcons have lessened Mike Smith's stress. (Curtis Compton/AJC)
A stronger sense of how real this awakening is will come next Monday night, when the Falcons play at New Orleans. But there’s certainly no reason to think this team can’t go on a special run. It was a talented group with a veteran core before this season started, and it remains that.
“We like the [playoff] position we’re in because we feel like we can take our show on the road and win,” wide receiver Roddy White said. “We’re built to run the ball and play-action pass and get the ball to [the receivers] on the outside. We don’t break. We know we just have be consistent to win games. Carolina definitely was a wake-up call for us. It took two quarters to wake up, but we learned. You never want to be down 23-7 but it’s good to see what your team can do when that happens. That gave us a lot of confidence.”
The Falcons have clinched their fourth straight winning season Thursday. It speaks to general expectations that that was an afterthought. They know they need some measure of postseason success because one-and-dones get old real quick with a jaded fan base.
But there are positive signs. Matt Ryan is on target again. Receivers aren’t dropping passes. The defense is starting to get more pressure. There are fewer missed tackles. Sean Weatherspoon is an emerging star. The team hasn’t had a turnover in the last two weeks.
General manager Thomas Dimitroff was concerned about his team for several weeks, but he’s starting to see light now.
“Mike has echoed this, and we’ve been very clear: We expect much more consistency given the talent of this football team and the talent of this coaching staff,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that we had some moments of inconsistency. But we really believe now we’re starting to get our feet underneath us and we’re starting to play some fundamentally sound football.
“I’m seeing accomplished assignments. I’m seeing focus. I’m seeing finish.”
A little swagger also may be coming back. When asked his thoughts on the New Orleans game, White smiled and said, “We’re going to win.”
So he’s guaranteeing that?
“I don’t guarantee victories,” he said. “But we’re going to win.”
That certainly would alter perceptions.

We’re on our way. I am not crowning us Div. champs or SB champs, just finally feel that we’re putting together solid play. If we play that way we can beat anybody including the packers & aints. When we execute, we’re better than they are taking into account offense & defense. Obviously it means nothing until it happens, but I can understand the statement from Roddy that ticked off the pack when he said that “we beat ourselves”. The Falcons just need to execute consistently and we ARE better and can beat any team. If we execute and don’t beat ourselves w/ turnovers and penalties, then there’s no team that scares me. The packers and aints have very suspect defense and if we don’t make the turnover mistakes then we can beat both of them and nobody in the AFC is scary to me this year. Only time will tell…

Before the new age version of Beavis and Butthead show up with the Barney Fife of the AJC, this team is just average. Not great, not bad… I know some pundits are just feeling the 2nd half of Carolina shed the ghosts. That is typical Snarky Central spin. That Houston game is the true barometer. They did everything that people say they couldn’t do… They ran the ball… They won with lesser parts… Simple as that… I’m not going to lose any sleep over the Punch and Judy side show…

i keep hearing if we play this good we can beat the saints or the packers….does anyone really believe that we can play that way against the elite teams. The reason we don’t play excellent agaist those type teams is because those elite teams’ talent dictates how we play. It’s not so much we play bad against the Pack, it’s the fact that the Pack’s talent causes us to not play good. We won’t have receivers wide open down the field agaisnt the saints and pack. we won’t be able to put pressure on Brees and Rodgers. Those QB’s won’t fumble and give the ball up like the Jags did. I wish i was wrong, but history proves me right.

Buford, there is no longer-term supporter of the Falcons than me. I remember another time when our record stood at 9-5: that was in 1973, after losing our final two games and barely missing the playoffs. You think last night was a blow-out? In 1973 the franchise had what is still its biggest victory ever—62-7 over the Saints. I am not saying the ownership and GM and head coach are not good. What I am saying is that, aside from the Lions (do the Titans count?), our Birds haven’t beaten a good team all year. A nice test will come this Monday. Trust me–there’s no one who’d rather see the Falcons win the Super Bowl than Dr. Warren.

Double G, I assume you’re referring to my post and while it might be a “chicken or the egg” argument that cannot be proven either way, I still say that when we don’t make the mistakes, we’re good enough to beat them. I can’t prove it, only the team can by doing it, so if we go against one or both of these teams in the playoffs and play w/o the penalties or turnovers and still lose, then you’ll be right, if we do the same and win, I’ll be right. Either way, I just hope we leave it all on the field this year and can say we hung w/ the best and won or even if we lose, I just want them to not beat themselves, that will show the truth.
Go Falcons!!!

JSS, do you just sit on the AJC f5-ing all day until somebody posts a Falcons story, at which point you break your fingers trying to post some “witty” commentary on how the Falcons actually suck? Is that really how you spend your life, trolling Falcons’ fans? I mean, haven’t Falcons’ fans suffered enough for 40+ years without having a basement-dwelling, beer-swilling moron such as yourself crapping in their Cornflakes at every opportunity?
This is a 9-5 football team that will be going to the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 years. They should have beat NO and Houston if not for some ridiculous drops and they dominated GB for the first half, yet according to every single one of your inane and incessant comments, they are really no better than Carolina? Give it a rest, this is easily a top-1

Fans are like modern day financial analysts asking the question: what is the company, or in this case team, doing right now. I am looking long term, unlike giddy fans, at the LONG TERM picture, Dr. Warren. I like the plan, philosophy, management style of this team and I think it’ll pay off in time. Progress is what is important… looking at the progress year to year (AND NO, I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THEIR RECORD). “We’re built to run the ball and play-action pass and get the ball to [the receivers] on the outside.”
I like the sentiment, and I like Roddy’s confidence (cockiness sometimes bordering on arrogance but when it comes to Nawlins, to hell with being PC!!), but this team is no longer able to pound teams into submission with the running game. Against CAR and JAX, Turner struggled to find holes and his tip-toe tentativeness is really making me wonder if he’s a) playing hurt / banged up b) in need of regular platooning with Snelling, who seems to hit whatever hole is there with authority.
Racking up 80+ yds against a woeful Jaguars team that was definitely in over their heads, coupled with a less than inspiring ground game against CAR (ranked 21st in rush D?) last week should not really breed any type of expectation beyond a playoff berth and hopefully a favorable match-up with NY or Dallas that perhaps we can eek out. This team is still a few pieces away on the interior and the secondary leaves much to be desired against the Pack, Saints etc.
So let’s not get too carried away yet! One at a time. But the 10 day rest should really help. If we can get Grimes and Hayden healthy, along with rest for the O-line, we might have a shot to do some damage.

The falcons may not win the superbowl this year, but they have come a long, long way. Four winning seasons in a row doesn’t sound like much, but it is a tremendous breakthrough for this franchise. They are working towards a permanent relevancy, with good management and coaching. Next step is to win a playoff game, and avoid falling off a cliff the next season as has been the pattern with past teams.

I was at the game. It started with JJ and ended with a str8 up curb stomp by the D. The 1st half was as close to a perfect a 1/2 as I have ever seen from the Coons! Total BEAST mode. Preditor was sick. SpoonMan was all up in it. HotRod was blazin the field, and the Iceman was pitchin lazer pills. The Aints, that Caint, that Stank, are gonna go down, like we all know they will. I soooo like this team more than last years for some reason. Maybe it’s JJ, or Quizz, or maybe the Pack Smack last year hurt these guys so much, that it’s the Real time to Rise the F up. Maybe it’s time.

They all get checks, they all play for money. Sometimes it lines up right and sometimes it doesn’t. That’s how the Rams beat the Saints, the Falcons beat the Packers last year then lost to them in the playoffs. The 14-2 Patriots lost to the Browns last year. It’s all entertainment.
Sitting here predicting winners and losers is all gambling.

If you will indulge me, I was able to pull a few strings and I stumbled upon the template that JSS uses to submit most of his blog posts:
@(insert user name of whomever said something that got you so mad you spilled your chocolate milk on the keyboard)
1. begin with a snide pop culture reference, demeaning to the aforementioned user but obscure enough to make you look learned.
2. Throw heaps of scorn and disdain upon those who are base enough to actually root for a team — remember, you have evolved beyond that point to a higher plane of existence — you are an omniscient, objective supberblogger and part of the new media literati
3. Here, try to work in a couple of words or phrases of foreign origin, or a GRE word that will cause all of the idiot droolers reading this to run to google
4. Make an obscure, passing reference to your line of work, suggestive of something quite important and maybe even mysterious that only a few hand-picked individuals in the world could handle with such aplomb; yet never actually say what you do
5. Intimate that you know and “work with” people who are well above the station of 99% of the people on this blog — remember, you are the 1% and proud of it!
6. Mention periodically your extended vacations to other, warmer climes, where you can spend time with people more of your class, and away from the hell-hole that is Atlanta…ignore all questions of why you still live here, or blame “work”
7. Just to make sure you are still connecting with the idiots on some level, throw in a reference to their mommas, the basement, drooling or their general lack of intelligence

If I remember the NFL scheduling guidelines that the NFC South played the teams in their own division 2 times, NFC North (2 at Home and 2 Away), AFC South (2 at Home and 2 Away) and depending on last year’s record the placing of the other 2 NFC divisions. The Saints played the exact same schedule as the Falcons except they played NYG and Rams where the Falcons played Seattle and Philly.
The only difference is that the Falcons lost to Chicago in Chicago, Houston in Houston, Green Bay at Home, TB at TB and the Saints at Home. Your 3 losses have been on the road and the tough games have been at home. Detroit, Chicago, Houston and Giants have all been at home….You won the team that you played against…Congrats!!! The Falcons had Detroit, Chicago, Houston and Seattle on the road…..See the difference!!!!
The game will be played Monday December 26th on MNF and then that will tell the story. Do I think that the Falcons are SB material??? No, But they can start playing better and WHO Knows….But if we let Quizz loose on the Saints he may just “Marshaun Lynch” your @$$. But then again MT33 has always performed well against NO in the past.
It will all come down to which Defense plays better. Can our DB’s cover your recievers? Can we pressure Brees? Can we contain your weak running game? Can you stop Turner and the other RB’s? Can you put pressure on Ryan? Can your Defense get the turnovers that you have in the past when your team has won? All the games have come down to these issues….Which “D” plays better.
So on December 27th will the same ones crowing about the Falcons not being good be on here giving props? I hope that the Falcons win but as Herm Edwards says “that’s why we play the Game!”.
Later Haters!!!!!

Whats funny to me is how soon people seem to forget. 10/9/2011, the Pack came to the GA dome and we completely disabled them for an entire first half of football. Then, thanks to our completely incompetent O and D coordinators, Mularkey stopped getting aggressive with play calling up 14-0, we decided to run it up the middle on first and second down, losing yards at a time, making Ryan need to pick up 13 and 14 yards almost every 3rd down. Then our D coordinator went with his same vanilla-no pressure scheme soft zone bull crap, instead of all the blitzes, the man to man, and the cover schemes that worked so well in the first half. As a result, Rodgers picked the soft D apart and our offense had essentially died. Coaching beat Atlanta that game. Same goes for the Saints game a few weeks back. We played VERY good football the majority of the game. Had Roddy not dropped the slant in the end zone causing us to settle for a game-tying field goal, we win that game with 4 seconds left and no need for overtime. So can we beat these elite teams? YES! We have had them both beat during the course of the season, but we managed to shoot ourselves in the foot. This team is hungry, and theyre out for blood. They looked DEAD the first half of the Carolina game, but after half time, ive never seen an Atlanta team play with so much fire and enthusiasm. Just wait….this team will open some eyes in weeks to come

Falcons won’t beat the Saints on the road (won’t be able to run and can’t pressure Brees-same old, same old) but will beat the Bucs at home to get into the playoffs. Same pattern as all year: lose to a good team but follow-up the loss by beating a bad team.
The pattern is good enough for 10-6 and by getting to the playoffs by virtue of beating the Lions, Cutler/Forte’s injuries and the Cowboy’s strange field-goal problems.
If the playoffs started today the Falcons would play the Giants on the road. Falcons struggle on the road against good teams (who doesn’t beside GB) and Eli is better than TJ Yates. Looks like another one and done. That is, if the Falcons don’t lose to NO and TB (they’ve already lost to both this year).

“In Commentary”
Once upon a time in 2008, Art Blank sold the Bank to win in the post season. Having a young brilliant quarterback from Virginia Tech, who performed miracles based on the lack of talent that he was surrounded with.
That young 22 year old freak of nature would haved loved to have a pro bowl back with the size and speed that Michael Turner has. He would have loved having a hall of famer in Tony Gonzalez. He would have loved to have explosive receivers like Julio Jones. He would have loved to have an offensive line that wasn’t built on low draft picks.
Yes Mike Vick without nearly the talent that CHOKE is surrounded with, yet he managed to play in 3 pro bowls, win 2 playoff games in different seasons, finish runner up in the MVP balloting at the ripe age of 22. Let’s not forget that playoff game in Green Bay where he led an overly outmatched Falcons team, and what did he do? Well you can ask Brett Favre how that turned out.
Then you have that legendary Falcons game versus The Greatest Show on Turf, where he led the Falcons to the most lopsided playoff win (47-17) or something close to that score. The scores are not as nearly as important as the point they proved. Before and after Vick, the Falcons had never had a quarterback to win playoff games in separate seasons. All this before the ripe ole age of 26.
By the way CHOKE is already 26 years old and he has ZERO playoff wins. With so much talent, why does he continue to get a free pass with the media & the bias fan base? Is it because he is the anti Vick? Are they so angry with Vick that they close their eyes and turn the other way with all the failures in the playoffs led by CHOKE?
Maybe it’s because they never wanted a quarterback that resembles Vick physically in the first place. Whatever the reason is, they have not won a playoff game since Vick has departed. Why is that? Why has it appeared so easy for Joe Flacco & John Harbaugh to win playoff game after playoff game, even thought they came onto the scene the same time as CHOKE & Smitty?
The bottom line is this: The Falcons can hate Mike Vick all they want, but it’s not going to fix the problem that they are stuck with for another 2 plus seasons.

I know what Falcons do!!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY EGGS!!!
How did that work out for Roddy the last time he said “we are gonna win” and couldn’t keep his big yap shut???
Yea that’s right, the Saints came in to Atlanta and whipped the birds in their own house. Make all the excuses you want, but the Saints were up 23-13 with 7 minutes left. The Saints D blew that game. Quit acting like the Falcons dominated that game, and just handed it over to the Saints. 180 of the 489 yds Atlanta got in that game were for the last 2 drives when for some reason the Saints decided to cover Harry Douglas with a LB.
The Falcons will lose to the Saints on MNF like they consistently do since Drew Brees arrival and all the “fire Malarkey” talk will be back. Rinse, wash, repeat… I am out

The Falcons hit a bad team with an awful quarterback at the right time (The Jags had 3 games in 11 days), don’t start singing their praises until they take care of NO. If they do that, then they have hit their stride. I hope they have confidence in themselves, but I still have my doubts.

They need to get rid of that chicken dinner and get a real winner.

Typical of Falcon/UGA fans to get excited about beating bad teams. I want the Falcons to be successful just as much as the next fan. But shouldn’t we expect more than just beating bad teams? If we can beat N.O. then I’ll be more optimistic, but as of now im not convinced the Falcons can compete with quality teams. So far they have lost to every playoff team they have faced this season.

Reality check. I love the Falcons, but look at SOV, Strength of Victory, at ESPN. It’s just above Carolina in the NFC. No matter how great we feel about the Falcons and what the players say, we must realize that we have mostly beaten bad teams, which we should be doing. Besides Detroit, what have we done against good teams? Until we beat the Saints, I don’t trust that these guys got it fixed. I’m an optimist, so I’ll stand with Roddy and say we’re going to win. At least we can talk, right? It’s a free country. Hopefully he’ll shutup and let his play talk cause I’m sure the Saints will have Roddy’s guarantee on their bulletin board.

Btw, there’s no way the Saints, the Patriots or Green Bay wins a championship this year. All of their defenses stink and most playoff teams with a good enough defense and enough play makers on the offensive side will, WILL, win. Everybody is so enamored of the QBs, but not this year.

Choke: Just like Babe Ruth, Mike Vick’s curse will haunt Art Blank until he sells the team.
I do not disagree that there is a MV7 curse, but logic dictates that it follow him to Philly, I man, Andy Reid has been to how many playoffs?
I believe the curse started when we drafted him over Drew Brees….And I also see the “Cam Curse” starting in Charlotte, where they passed on Andy Dalton.
Mr Charlie

When we listened to the hype, and ignored our common sense, we traded up and drafted MV7 over Drew Brees….The Vick curse was born. MV7 was suppose to get us to win multiple superbowls, but he could not even take the franchise as far as journeyman Chris Chandler took them. Hence, THE MV7 curse was born. But the good thing is, he took the curse to Philly. So we are lucky.

12:11 pm
hey CHOKE
let me ask you a question……why is it that you think the only wins that count are playoff wins? Have you ever sat back and ask yourself why a playoff win matters more than a regular season game? Because guess what…..the only “playoff win” that matters, is the one that gets you the trophy. So you can sit here and say that Ryan “chokes” because all his numbers have only improved every year he’s been in the league, and because he hasnt won a playoff game in just TWO trips to the playoffs, but guess what? it doesnt matter if you never win a playoff game or win one or two playoff games every year jsut to lose before or in the big game (McNabb). But, being as how your logic is that playoff wins are the only ones that count, and really only ONE playoff win actually counts, and by your logic if you dont win that one, well then youre a bad quarterback.
Now, having said all that….I dont know how old you are and how far back your “football intelect” can reach, but by your logic you are saying that not only is Matt Ryan a terrible QB because he hasnt won a playoff game in only two trips in his FIRST THREE YEARS OF THE LEAGUE, but youre also saying quarterbacks such as McNabb, Dan Fouts, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, and uh…..oh yeah, DAN MARINO, are all terrible quarterbacks. I mean after all, the last playoff win is really the only one that counts according to your logic right?

As for the Birds, yes, i see signs of life and possibility….
But as always for me, i’ll believe it when I see it on the field. This team has failed ultimately every season it’s been in Atlanta. We’ve been way too inconsistent this year for me to get my hopes up.
I’m hopeful as always, but we’ll have to wait and see. If JJ shows up, if Abraham shows up and if we can block a little and knock down a pass or 2 in the secondary, yes, we could go the distance.

********
Too funny.

Stride will either lengthen or disappear on Monday night. Waited to comment in order to offer fair commentary after Thursday night blowout. Extremely proud of D. Takeaways plus TDs. Well done. The O was consistent with no giveaways. Only thing that truly made me sick was blocked punt which resulted in TD. Completely inexcusable. I forgave meaningless late TD allowed by Falcon defensive substitutes. Game worthless as measuring stick. Falcons will have true baptism of fire in Louisiana. Victory lifts team into elite status. Loss probably leaves defending division champions with wild card playoff spot. Failure against Saints also knocks Falcons into slightly better than average category. It is what it is. If the Falcons fail to pressure Drew Brees they lose. If the Falcons play not to lose they will do just that. The Falcon kick returner needs to take it up a notch or two. The Falcons must prepare for this like a playoff game because it is. An 11-5 record has much more benefits than a 10-6 mark. What do you guys and gals think?

Dunta Robinson displays no overt desire to become an NFL general manager any time soon, but the Falcons cornerback didn’t hold back in his assessment of Jacksonville’s receiving corps following Atlanta’s 41-14 rout of the Jaguars.
“Those guys are (expletive) jokes,” Robinson told The Florida Times-Union on Thursday night. “Those guys couldn’t get a (expletive) receiver if it hit them in the head.”
I think it’s time to tell Dunta to shut his piehole. First of all Mike Smith needs to coral his mouth and Aurther Blank needs to keep that in check because it may come back to haunt this team which is as best fragile.. First of all Dunta, take them cave man locks out of your head and learn from M. Vick something about being humble. You ain’t all that. You haven’t won no Superbowl, you have no jewelry. Nuff said.

It’s amazing what having the right combination of Owner GM Head Coach and QB can do for an NFL franchise. This organization has put the pieces in place to be successful for years to come. I think the offense is starting to gel at just the right time and Julio Jones is b ecoming that explosive WR opposit Roddy White that makes Matt Ryans job easier. I think the Falcons can definitely make a run at a Super Bowl title which would be the happiest sports day of my life. Go Falcons

Beating the Saints is not a “nice to do” ~ but a must or bust! This “ball club” has to be consistent winners for any of the Management to be taken seriously given the level of talent. What started out as a Dream, a Hope, a Savior, was just a smoke screen. When we want a hero, we leave ourselves in a truly vulnerable state. We leave our hearts open and our brains shut. When we let our hatred dictate the emotions of our hearts, we are subjected to being left alone in a dark gaping hole, where their is no hope of a clear solution.
That hatred was when Art Blank did the unthinkable – He did something that the Mr. Charlie’s of Atlanta dreaded. He drafted a braid wearing player number one in the NFL. If this was Deion Sanders, there would not have been so much hatred, but when he had nerve to spend that number 1 overall draft pick on a braid wearing quarterback, oh that took the Mr. Charlies to a place where fear, insecurity, added with reality & change, and you have a recipe for hatred.
A smart person does not make irrational decisions when they are angry. When you do so, then you draft a quarterback that played 5 seasons of college football, yet all he had to show for it was 22 picks in his 5th season.
I would have had a little more compassion for his failures if it was in a division where defenses ruled, but it was in the A.C.C. A division if not for Miami or Virginia Tech, would be the minor leagues for major conferences.
In this hatred, rage, disgust by Blank’s gall, they rushed to judgment. They fired the once coaching staff that took the team to the championship game in their 1st season, and made questionable decisions. Once they made these decisions, there was no turning back, because they knew that the Vick loyal followers would say “HA HA”.
Therefore, they tried to build CHOKE as an elite quarterback by surrounding him with pro bowlers, hall of famers, number 1 drafted offensive linemen and still the results remained the same – no playoff wins.
I know what you are thinking, maybe it takes time. I say to those bias thinkers – how much more time do you need? Why is in that same time period the Ravens took the same path with a rookie coach and rookie quarterback, and have racked up 4 playoff wins on the road, in 3 different seasons?
How much time do you need to realize that your so called keys to to Porche, was really a lemon in disguise? Well, unless they miraculously go on a superbowl run in a season where they are clinging onto a suspected wild card, thanks to 4 straight games of playing against rookie quarterbacks.
Is this the hope you had in mind?

Choke, I had no dread of MV7 being drafted, although I would have preferred Drew Brees and I said it at the time. I was accused of exactly what you accuse me of, however, unlike you, I do not see color, race, or become blinded my by my bigotry, that is how I was able to evaluate football talent and projected Drew Brees to be the better pro…and what turns into the inconvenient truth to you, I was 100% RIGHT.

Funny choke, in 2001 I did want us to keep or draft position and take Brees. BUT, people like you, who do not know how to evaluate QB talent, insisted my position was race related just as you stated above. You cast your own prejudice and bigotry onto me, and were blinded by your hate to spot obvious NFL QB material. But I know how hard it is for you to understand, but I don’t think that way. ..Turn out I was right, and that’s gotta hurt….How much time does Ice need? IDK, it took about 6-7 years for so I am patient man, and Matty Ice will show you how wrong you are, just like Drew Brees did.

Choke… I was on record for wanting to draft Drew Brees over MV7, but it had nothing to do with race, color, hair style, or any of the things that consume your every thought. It was based on pure analysis of the skill set necessary to play QB at the highest level in the NFL. I know you cannot comprehend that, but the results over time more than proves and justifies my position.
How much time do we need? It took me about 6-7 years to be right proven right beyond any shadow of a doubt about Brees V Vick, so I am a patient man, we are in the spring of Ryans one day HOF career.

Like Atlanta is perfect (watch the nightly news every once and a while). But then again, what else do you expect from a loser that cheers for loser teams!!!!! I am starting to feel sorry for you. Well, like you said earlier, how much time do you need?
MV7 is on year 10, and he has 2 playoff wins. Tom Brady had a ring in year 2.
And it ain’t looking too good in year 11.

Oh look, no class Saints running the score up again to the excitement of their no class fans. Wouldn’t it be excellent for some key player season ending injuries to take place while they are doing that. Yes, that would be excellent.

The Falcons can beats the Saints if they play perfect football and the Saints make mistakes AND the Falcons take advantage of those mistakes. Any team that goes all the way to the Super Bowl has to capitalize on their opponents mistakes. If the Falcons can do that, then they have a chance. If they don’t do that, well we have all seen that before. RISE UP!

The uptick in the team’s performance is directly linked to Ryan starting to hit some of his receivers on the dead run. Number 11 is taking some short stuff to the house. Ryan is marginally better on longer passes as well So, his timing is clearly better. Why it took so long for this to occur this season is a mystery. The defense is playing well too.

Yeah Sean Payton is really scared of a team that he has a 9-2 record against coming into the dome. The mighty Falcons beat two garbage teams with rookie qb’s and you think they are world beaters. Oh wow you scored 41 points, the Saints do that like every other week.

interesting from Sunday: (source:si.com/Burke)
“If the Vikings wanted to see how healthy Adrian Peterson really was in his first game back from a sprained ankle, they got their answer. The team wanted to ease Peterson back into the lineup, and he didn’t get his characteristic workload in the first half. But he made the most of his time in there with a 39-yard run that saw Saints defenders grasp at his ankles near the line of scrimmage, until Peterson drove through the defenders and sprinted away from everyone in sight.”
Sorry a%& bastards, trying to re-aggravate the injury. Maybe end his career, next time, huh Saints. Dirty a&% scared little children.

Saints play of the game>>>> ” Center snaps the ball to Breeze, ball sails by Breeze and Vikings recover……Drew, what was you doing out there dude ? ”
Put that play in the Game next Monday night against the Birds !
A last years game >>>> ” Drew takes the flea flicker and throws it deep, booooooommmm, interception
Falcons ! ”
Stick that one in the playbook too .
Another big play to add >>>>” Breeze back to pass, Breeze has to scramble due to heavy defensive pressure, a dump-off to avoid the sack, booooooommmm , right into the hands of Big Abe ! ”
Stick it in the playbook Saints Coaches !
