Good morning. David Stern voided Weekend Predictions.
Seriously, it’s common for my staff of researchers — cough, cough — to close it down after the college football regular season. But we’ll return for a special bowl edition of Predictions in a couple of weeks.
Also wanted to mention that the national grand prize winner for the “Sack Schultz” contest was Atlanta’s Randy Miller (contest code name: Atlviper). Randy won a $5,000 trip to Hawaii, which I will be holding for him for $1,000 ransom.
Randy went 169-41 in 14 weeks. We had 10 other contestants with 168 wins. I finished with 157 wins, which placed me 1,177th place out of roughly 7,000 entries, which was as high as the AJC would permit me to finish.
More importantly, I’m kicking butt in Weekend Predictions and I’m absolutely destroying Zach Klein and Mark Bradley in Pro Football Challenge (which you’ll find in every Sunday AJC).
So who needs a trip to Hawaii?
OK. I do. Or did.
Congrats, Randy.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I just emailed Jeff….Ironically I am a Clemson fan and one of the 2 games I missed the last week was that game. I took VT. Thought Bad Karma cost me.
Also, I wanted to change my pick from Baylor to Texas but did not get to a computer in time. Good Karma.
Lucky, Lucky, Lucky.
But nevertheless……ALOHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I finished 13th and didn’t even get a stinking, moldy Beat Bisher t-shirt from the AJC storage locker or even a trip to Cleveland. What kind of racket is this?

Ahh shoot, I was hoping to at least get some tips on NFL games. Oh well, guess I have to come up with my own original picks.
I like the under in the Baltimore-Indy matchup.
I think the Saints will cover 3.5 points against Tennessee.
Monday night game will get lower ratings than Heisman ceremony.

If you want a college football playoff, skip the first 2012 home game. One of you guys get it organized.

I guess they don’t play the NFL when there is no College. I guess the Hot chicks all put on Parkas and went into hiding too.

Jeff, what do you see the Falcons doing this weekend? Very tough/important game but I think they win. Big game for Turner & I think Julio has a few big catches & redeems himself. Ryan is of course the wild card…

So Jeff is the Sports hell zone. He has to write about baseball winter meetings and trades that the braves DON’T do or Basketball that nobody cares about.
Poor JEFF will not be getting many hits with these articles.
Jeff show the Girls of UCF and people will at least read the blog. LOL

I heard Charlie Weis negotiated a “pay by the pound” clause in his contract. If that’s true, the dude will be taking home more than Pujols.

Hey Jeff….don’t look now but that coach (Dabo Swinney) you always ridicule, mock, deride, disparage, jeer, slam, scoff at and otherwise disrepect just coached his team to an ACC championship and a BCS bowl. Oh…and that other coach (Paul Johnson) who you think is soooooo good gets to go to the Sun Bowl.

nmbrsman…………..How many years did it take Dabo to do that? How many years did it take CPJ to do the same thing, but win the ACC CG.

CPJ 4-1 vs Dabo…. congrats to the Tigers for getting to the Orange bowl, but I would lay off the Dabo/Johnson comparisons. If CPJ had the talented roster available that Dabo has, he would scorch you guys even worse…
