Bobo got to go. After the first quarter, hevkilled georgia with the same predictable playcalling. No way they was gonnavrun on LSU, so they shouldve ran rollouts, screens and mix in just a run here and there to setup playaction. You could see the defense not being able to hold up after the offense kept giving the ball back. Lastly, i dont even blame georgia’s punt coverage. When you are punting from inside your your 10 yard line, the punter most likely gonna kick it low and to the punt returner, which happened both times….

To think that we had a chance in this game without a healthy (or with a healthy Crowell for that matter) and no Samuel was just not being realistic. Too much talent, too much depth…LSU is a great football team. I thought the coaches did a hell of a job throwing them off in the 1st half with a great game plan but the smoke and mirrors were only going to work for so long. The minute they knew we didn’t have a running game, it was over. If I were an elite running back, I would be looking long and hard at UGA as you can step in and play immediately. We need several good backs in this signing class. Proud of the Dawgs for coming out strong but knew it was only temporary. Still proud oft the turnaround from last year. We’re not there yet but we’re moving in that direction. Sign Grantham to whatever he wants. He’s a hell of a coach.

Great start to the game on defense… but the same 3 themes that plagued Georgia throughout the season killed them in the end:

1. Lack of discipline/focus.
2. Bad special teams.
3. Conservative (or just confusing) playcalling.

The Dawgs are not ready for prime time, yet. It was more mental than physical. Punt return…TD. Fumble….. TD. The D didn’t have time to get tired, yet LSU started running it down our throats. It was a mental letdown. I hope the Dawgs come back next year with lessons learned. They lost for the same reason other schools always lose the BCSCG to the SEC. They weren’t battle tested and LSU was. UGA has the talent (need an immediate upgrade at RB). Now they take the next step. GO DAWGS!

A couple of points: I KNEW UGA couldn’t win this game. I also very accurately predicted how the game would go: UGA would play very well at first, then slowly die as the superior team took control and moved on out, which is exactly what happened. (Although the first half was much better for UGA than I would’ve imagined.) I’ve seen it a hundred times. The underdog comes our in hype mode at the start of the game and does well, but soon the adrenaline dies off and reality sets in. The underdog seems to always forget that the games goes for FOUR quarters, and all that matters is what the scoreboard says at 0:00 at the end of the last quarter.

LSU is a better team but the dawgs looked like they were playing to keep from getting hurt as they lost the lead. I think it’s time for some heavy running back recruiting and tell Crowell to start drinking the tea of go back to Columbus. Athens is no place for the primadona. We need hearts like Samuels on this team next year. We can win a bowl game without him.

Competition against a team that oversigns 5-10 more players every year, then smokes out the hurt and/or underperforming kids (who were promised a four-year scholarship together with a moon just a year ago) is not fair.

College football is a joke in scores of ways, but the ugliest side story has to be the oversigning and the brutal, ruthless, unethical way SEC West teams treat their players. Sure, its much easier to win when your training camp starts with 120 talented players, when the ethical teams are limited to 80.

Congratulations to LSU; who is a great team and showed they were the better team today in the Georgia Dome. They deserve to be SEC Champs and to play for the National Championship.

That was a beatdown for sure, but winning 10 out of 11 to close the season is something to build on.

The “Honey Badger’s” premature flip to the ref on that non-touchdown was maybe the biggest brain fart I’ve ever seen in a high stakes game. What the hell was he doing? He’s lucky the upstairs ref fell asleep on that one.

I don’t know if Richt is all the way back, but he’s definitely earned another year. Beating Tennessee, Florida, Auburn and Tech in the same year is what Georgia football should be about. I’m already looking forward to 2012.

My word!!! Heading into 2012, we need to open up the QB race and have Crowell at least 3rd on the depth chart. CMR, how about putting Mason and Malcolm in. Your getting NOTHING out of Murray and Crowell, facing the No. 1 team in the land. What could it hurt? I know I’ll hear from all the Murray lovers here and I’m not saying he’s not a good QB, but when you have a 5′11 guy who can’t see over his huge O-Line and ends up leaving the pocket b/c he can’t see, that’s a problem. Especially when you got a ligit 6′2 guy behind him that has outperformed him in EVERY scrimmage. Likewise, you guy a hard running, LARGER back in Malcolm that doesnt get arm tackled by D-backs and doesn’t take himself out of the game every time he breaks a nail. My word the Players are there USE THEM!!!

Didn’t expect a miracle, but after the 1st half, was expecting more than what we got from UGA in 2nd half…….again, gotta tip your hat to LSU, they came out played like the #1 team in the 2nd half.

As for UGA, it’s time for Richt and staff to go to work recruiting the best players in GA. Please learn to recruit GA, it’s sad to see the best players consistently leaving GA for Alabama, Florida or LSU, because Richt doesn’t recruit this state half as hard as he does Florida. Richt has to recruit a top 5 class every year and not recruit prima dona’s who have crap for brains.

I just hope we re-group and get ready to show up for a bowl game. If we lay an egg like we did last year against UCF then I’m not sure how much progress we have really made. Our schedule as we all know was really weak. Maybe, CMR will realize the biggest weakness we have is Crowell and Bobo. Not sure I can take much more of either one. One’s a thug and the other a dud. Richt is a good coach but not in the same league as Miles and Sabin. Wish we could get Peterson but I fullly expect Richt to get a contract extension. This game just showed how deceiving the 10 game win streak was. We beat 10 mediocre to poor teams. This game exposed just how average a team we are. Crowell needs to go.

Really had hope in first half. Dropped passes and that punt return killed us. One prediction I will make. Crowell will never be a good running back. He cannot play injured, does not have that big heart to go with the big hair. If he is not kicked off team then eh will sit most the time. And jawing that cost us that 15 yards, from a freshman? Please. We need some running backs, and please some that weigh in about 200 lbs, no more 160 pounders. This is the SEC. And Bobo, why are you running 160 lb backs at that defense??? Oh that is the only backs we have……..

Hey all you guys crying for Richt to be fired… who would you hire? Hasn’t LSU done this to EVERYONE this year except Bama? So should every coach who loses to LSU be fired? I’d love to win the BCS every year too. Other than Saban and Miles (and maybe Peterson at Boise), Richt is a great coach. common sense–noticed the same thing. #1 just turned his back on the HC! Why don’t they let #24 run it then? He runs much tougher than #1. I have to say, though, the helmet to helmet shot by the LSU guy with the ball in the air should have gotten him ejected. Crowell had a right to be upset. Not that it would have done much good, but the refs let LSU do a bunch of hitting after the whistle. I couldn’t believe they didn’t call 44 for his late hit on Boykin. They also let LSU interfere as much as they wanted pretty much. When they tackled the receivers, or gave our receivers helmet to helmet shots with the ball in the air they had to call it. Unfortunately, they probably didn’t need help LSU. I think they could have easily won because we were out to help them more than the refs were.

I only hope that Murray gets back to the SEC Title game next year as if that is his biggest game (during his UGA career) and his legacy is remembered by it then another QB that turns out to be an overall dud.. Stafford and Greene have been the best QBs so far and without a title game redemption chance for Murray next year it does not matter if he sets every UGA passing record, another dud.. I have never seen so many bounced passes, behind the receiver, etc.. I know LSU has a tenacious D and the receivers dropped a few, but he has to step up and play solid when the defense is giving the effort they did…The D had them in the right position to push this into the fourth quarter and Murray playing just horrible hurt them today.

#11, #1 and #2 plain out stunk up the field today… #2 must be scared to tackle as over the season he has ole’d many runners (South Carolina fake punt where he could have knocked the runner out of bounds or at least taken out his legs comes to mind off the bat) and although he is good at other areas if he can not hit and wrap then he is in for a very short career in the NFL…

Murray simply is way better that what he did today so I really do hope that this is not his legacy (getting to a SEC title game and laying not just an egg, but MANY EGGS!)…

Richt had nothing to do with this outcome.. You have to put the blame on the QB first and yes everyone has bad games, but this is what a QB lives for… Showcase your skills in the title game against the #1 team…

If UGA does not get back to it next year and they win 9 or 10 games, but no SEC or NCAA championship then perhaps Richt needs to get some QBs that do not hurt the team and focus on getting back to being RUNNING BACK U with QBs making safe throws, screen passes, etc..

A great first half where I actually believed UGA would push them to the end, but Murray F’ed that up today… Then it just steam rolled.

Don’t blame the D or coaching on this one Dawg Nation… Go ahead and take up for your QB on the forums if you want to, I do understand he has carried you guys through some games, but today you would have been better off if he only made safe throws to compliment the defense…

I guess you live and die with 5 star QBs when you promise them pro style offenses to get them.. Today he killed you.

If LSU thinks they’re about to come in and wear this defense down they’re sadly mistaken. The Dawg’s are impressively deep as well as LSU on defense but I believe our offense is significantly better. We have a bevy of weapons.

Jeff…I totally agree with you…I’ve been saying and writing in my sports column that I’ve done for 36 years that Dawgs have a great chance to beat Lobbying Les Miles.

#1-they’re playing and peaking at the right time,
#2-they got the better opponent to play (no-one wants Bama in my estimation),
#3-Les Miles is no Nick Saban and is due for one of his clock or play-calling disasters,
#4-it’s a home field advantage for UGA and on artificial turf (Les can’t eat grass unless he brings his own) and the crowd will be nuts for the Dawgs,
#5-Georgia has the largest offensive line in all football and can handle the manhandling LSU’s d-line normally dishes out,
#6-Aaron Murray is indeed the best QB they’ve played and his receivers are vastly under-rated,
#7-Georgia has a good kicking game to match LSU,
#8-if Crowell and other runners being their A-games, it becomes a tossup in my estimation.

Sorry, but wholesale changes are needed, not a extension. Winning 10 easy games, losing the only meaningful conference game, and getting thumped against the only two top 5 teams you played. The division title was not earned but a gift from Arkansas and Auburn. Richt just cannot get to the next level. Nothing against him, he brought UGA up from a pretty bad place after Donnan. But he peaked in 2007 and quickly proved he couldn’t keep UGA that level. Time to try someone new.

What if……King and Mitchell had not dropped those passes (net + 11 points)…..the replay guys had done their job and caught #7 when he flipped the ball before crossing the goal line (2 points for fumbling out of the end zone, right? +2). Then…..well….the score would have been 35-23. Still a whipping, considering all the damage was done in the second half. LSU doesn’t even get off the bus until the 2nd quarter.

To the football fans who have good sense listen up, we have a lot to be proud of beacuase many of you on here 3 month ago were hoping for 8 wins. Last year we couldn’t win the Liberty Bowl. LSU is very good. We had our chances but they beat us. We have A LOT to build on. We can go 11-3 if we win a bowl game and we have everybodyu important except Boykin coming back. After 0-2 did anyone seriously think the Dawgs would be in this game? They played an outstanding half that could have been better with 2 more catches. Then reality came thru the door. The REAL LSU showed up and the Dawgs were gonners. Did you think the GA OL could play 4 qtrs with LSU defense? With no running game LSU turned loose the dogs and came after Murray and blanketed the receivers. NEEDS: Better OL men, a constant shortcoming for this team. Crowell has had some bad luck with his ankle. Have you ever had a turned ankle? I sure have and to line up against the Number one team in the nation with a bum ankle is brave in my book. Crowell was making them miss in the first half he looked like the all star we know him to be, slashing and cutting on a dime showing flashes of speed. He tweeked his ankle just before the half on an outcut and he was never the same. People need to lay off Crowell he was not smoking weed as everyone says he was smoking that stuff you can get at the convenience stores (and that is a huge difference). Just Saying, Go Dogs.

Georgia had the momentum and when they turned the ball over they put the defense in bad situations. The Mark Richt and his playcaller BoBo could put them in the position to win. The Defense went reeling after no support from the offense and coaching staff. Everyone says lsu is great but outside of the MVP who put them in position to make plays not impressed even with the amount of points they put up. We had our chances sure there were 2 drops but the other 3 passes Murray had time and couldn’t put it where it need to be. I told someone if they can keep the quarterback clean, make touchdowns instead of field goals and Mike Bobo call a good game. Just run it up the middle of the defense just not a smart thing to do.

Haters, say what you will…but most Bulldog fans are still proud of this team.

To start 0-2 and end up in the SECCG is remarkable. The game today was turned on a few plays, but give a lot of credit to the defense for holding the #1 team to 12 yds in the first half. Given the rich history of UGA RBs, it is ironic that the running game was their demise…but we know that will not be the case for long.

The defense will be strong next season. Get the running game back on track and work in concert with one of the best, if not the best, QBs in the SEC, and next season could be really special. Go Dawgs!!!

There is a lot to be positive about, but the 3 turnovers, the two dropped TDs, the dropped int, and the other dropped passes sealed the deal. You can’t do that sort of thing against anybody, much less LSU. We have done that all year, although not this bad. As hard as it was in the second half, we had 6 more first downs, much more total yardage, and much better time of possession. Eliminate the stupid mistakes and we were in that game. Dawgs showed their potential, and if they can eliminate the dumb mistakes, we should be good as we keep growing.

Licking my hind quarters… Still trying to figure out what happened…. LSU blocked in the back on the first punt return… Clearly… No call…. did we do bong hits at halftime? Once LSU was aware we had no chance to run the ball, they changed defenses and it was over… You will never win an sec championship without a running game… It was a shame, too, because our passing threats were making the run available, but we have no running backs. Also, if you can’t run, please abandon play action. Why bother? they know its not a run. Kudos to LSU for winning the SEC and to the Toughest football conference in the country and what will be a 7th straight BCS National Championship. Still great to be a Georgia Bulldog!

Crowell reminds me of the Samuel Jackson character in “Unbreakable”. I really hope someday this staff realizes the necessity in the SEC of a very strong 200 plus pound back that can run people over instead of more undersized scat backs that would fall over in a 50mph wind gust.

This isn’t Florida State and the ACC coach, that scat back crap isn’t going to work in the SEC. Please get us a real running back or two for next season and beyond.

Georgia’s game plan was perfect, their execution was not. And even if it had been, I’m not sure 28 points would have stood up against this bunch from the bayou. It is very eveident that UGA needs an SEC caliber running back. The 2002 team had Greene, Pollack, Gibson and Brown, but do not forget we had Musa who WAS an SEC runnibg back. I’m afraid Crowell does not have the stamina, endurance or heart to carry our load. I hope we can get the great running back from Raleigh N.C. in our recruiting class. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but I think we should have seen Hutson Mason much sooner tonight ( and next year).

I honestly don’t understand why anyone would want to play at GA after reading these comments. Crowell has to grow up, no doubt about it, he is a Freshman. He was rated as possibly the #1 running back in the Nation. He has been hurt all year. Most Freshmen don’t have great years. He gets over 800 yards,(You have to be pretty good to do that), misses a good bit of play & you Morons want to dump him. A lot of you guys get a cold & call into work sick for a week. We are recruiting another running back who is near the top. Why in the Hell would he want to come hear from reading these comments. We are trying to sign him to work with Crowell to improve the running game. I realize that there are a lot of non-GA Trolls who roam around here pretending to be GA Fans. But if you are a GA Fan, don’t turn on these young players so quickly. It may come back to bite you. They have the Internet in every State and even any place in the World, if you have not thought about it. A lot of recruits read the paper. We went from 6-7 to 10-3, reguardless of schedule. GA does not pick who they play in the SEC or in a Bowl. It is out of their hands. Think about it. We are on the way up, not down. If you are not happy with GA, change over to AL, LSU, MI, USC or whoever. If you are donating, donate to those Schools & go to their games. You don’t have to be a GA Fan if you don’t want to be. This was a lesson in perspective and expectations for next time. UGA is a pretty good team that beat 10 either terrible or not very good teams. Its going to be a minute before UGA can compete with the elite teams of the west, especially LSU which will likely be better less year, while UGA will lose alot of the O-line (which is a big deal).

“UGA is no longer a top tier program”

They never have been. The only top tier programs in SEC history are Alabama and TN. Every other school has 1-3 titles and that’s it.

No, Mark, ‘basically’ you got your a** handed to you. Basically, a smart coach made smart halftime adjustments while you assumed you didn’t need to change anything. Basically, you got outsmarted and outplayed again. Basically, you lost to the only three teams on your schedule that weren’t mediocre.

Basically, four other SEC coaches won BCS championships in the last 5 years. Four coaches with less tenure than you. You have delivered zero championships in 11 years.

Basically, you should be fired for believing ‘momentum’ determines the outcome of a game. If momentum is so determinative, how can it be lost?

You UGA and Richt haters enjoy this night. You only got three of these this year, because that’s all the games Georgia lost. Florida and Auburn have dipped since winning it all. LSU and Bama will too. That’s just the way it works. There are no multi-year, long runs any more. Georgia’s on the upswing and you might not get too many times to rejoice over their loses these next few years. So, enjoy tonight.

It doesn’t hurt that the Dawgs lost the game tonight. It doesn’t even hurt that we got blown out. It hurts that a team that brought their C game can still blow us out by 32 points. It hurts that in the last 6 years, 4 different SEC teams have won National titles; and we’re not one of them. And it hurts to know that those results are seemingly OK with the vast majority of our fan-base.

Why in the world should Ga extend Richt’s contract? He’s still doing the same thing for the past 10 years…….He always loses the big game. He has a losing record against teams with a 500 or better record. He recruits thugs and duds……..like Ealey and King and 100 proof prima-donnas like Crowel………. You know just about everybody in the South East has won a Natl Champ since Ga has even smelled the wrapper off of one………But go ahead and Richt that big salary increase and long term extension and while your at it give the Choker-man Grantham a big raise too……in the end you’ll just get the same-ole/same-ole.

First, Crowell is an idiot. Second, Georgia needs to capitalize when they have chances. Two passes dropped that could have given them a 17-0 lead. You can’t get away with that. You knew LSU was too powerful to have their offense or special teams not show up at some point. Also, our guys tired out as usual. Who is the conditioning coach? He needs to be fired immediately.

As we stumbled and bumbled to ten wins to mostly weak teams and win the SEC East against South Carolina with out a QB and Lattimore, I saw Georgia just ordinary at best. This game was a embarassement for Georgia Bulldogs. Getting BLOWN OUT. TWO DROPPED TD PASSES. Can”t feel good about CMR. I think the bowl game should be his job interview to KEEP HIS JOB. I know LSU is great but 42-10. Did I mention the 62 yd punt return that nobody even touched him. DID I MENTION THE 2 DROPPED TD PASSES. Against the #1 team. If CMR does not win the bowl game, I am ready for a change. I am a LIFETIME BULLDOG FAN. And real disspointed and concerned!

Get rid of Bobo. By the way, does UGA have a fullback on its team? If so, why are they not in the backfield blocking? Why do we even have a fullback position — BooBoo doesn’t know how to use them. Yes, LSU is a great team — don’t get me wrong — but we will never win the SEC with BooBoo as OC. Our defense played hard in the first half. And goodness – when is RIcht going to wise up and hire a special teams coach.

Proud of the dawgs, good season. My dissatisfaction is with Crowell who showed absolutely no heart, and also turning his back on the coach. Saw this young man play high school ball knew then he was a coddled primadonna with a very bad attitude. Boo played with heart. Give Crowell’s scholarship to someone who will give his all for the team. Also looked to me Mason has more power in his arm than Aaron…..and tired of hearing him say “will just have to watch more film” and learn from it etc……

Schultz, we all watched the damn game! I think we missed Ealy and King. Our QB made too many mistakes and he got no help in the running game!!!if we had a bruiser RB I think we would have won the game. we should sign more RBs, Hicks is petty good but we also need Marshall.
