Mark Richt's team has won eight straight since going 20-17 from early in 2008. (Brant Sanderlin)
Every win pushes the agony a little further back into history. Every significant moment – the comeback against Florida, the domination of Auburn – quiets the anger just a little bit more.
Georgia has positioned itself to clinch the SEC East on Saturday against Kentucky in Athens. But of greater significance actually is what the program may be starting to show about the future.
The Bulldogs likely have four games remaining: Kentucky, Georgia Tech, the SEC championship and a bowl game. How they perform in those four will say a lot about where things are headed and to what extent the fan base can again become unified, as it was from Mark Richt’s arrival through 2007 – and until the “blackout” game against Alabama in 2008.
If the Dogs defeat Kentucky, it will secure a division title unlike any other under Richt. He won a conference championship in only his second season in 2002. He won the East again in 2003 (losing the SEC title game to LSU) and 2005 (this time beating LSU). But over the past few years, the good feelings had been eroding, losses had been increasing, doubt had been growing.
When Steve Spurrier punctuated his postgame comments following South Carolina’s win over Florida last week with, “We’ll see what Georgia does when they know they have to win,” it wasn’t the nonsensical ramblings from the SEC’s most notorious tweaker. Fact is, Spurrier had a point. The Bulldogs had something to prove.
The danger signs were far more widespread than Georgia coming off its first losing season under Richt (6-7). After a 4-0 start in 2008, the Bulldogs were drilled at home by Alabama — the black jerseys were quickly put back into a box –and went only 20-17 in their next 37 games (0-2 to start this year) and 12-12 in the SEC.
Through this season’s second-week loss at South Carolina, Georgia was 5-10 in its past 15 SEC games. It had lost not only to recent conference powers Alabama and Florida, but LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Auburn and South Carolina (twice).
The resulting perception: Georgia hadn’t only slipped on the national landscape – losing 10 of 12 to ranked teams — but also was falling dangerously behind the curve in the SEC.
That’s not even addressing losing to Colorado and Central Florida.
Is that all buried now? Maybe. It’s easy for skeptics to point out the East is weak, favored South Carolina imploded and the 2011 schedule lacked the SEC’s three toughest teams: LSU, Alabama and Arkansas. (Georgia plays at Alabama next season.) But an eight-game winning streak is remarkable under any circumstances, let alone in a season that began with losses to Boise State and South Carolina.
The Dogs found themselves trailing 17-3 in the second quarter to Florida. They came back to win 24-20.
They had struggled against ranked teams before last week, even modestly ranked ones like Auburn (No. 24 by AP). But they left no doubt, winning 45-7.
They are showing a toughness and resilience that has been missing in Athens.
Richt was pleasantly surprised this week when a scuffle broke out at practice Tuesday. “We had a very spirited practice,” he said. “We actually had to pull a couple of guys off each other.”
When is the last time you sensed that kind of hunger?
Aaron Murray is coming off his most impressive game of the season. The defense under Todd Grantham seems to get better each week and has risen to No. 4 in the nation. The Bulldogs are second only to LSU in the SEC (tied for eighth nationally) with a plus-9 turnover differential.
I think some folks have even pulled darts out of Mike Bobo’s picture.
When the season opened, Georgia looked disturbingly unprepared against Boise State. But Richt has succeeded in putting out fires, from the 0-2 start to the failed drug tests of three running backs to the postgame mess at Vanderbilt. He has dealt with the immaturity issues of Isaiah Crowell.
Players are responding to him. That’s more than half the battle in coaching.
All are positive signs for the future. This is Georgia’s chance to affirm this hasn’t been an aberration. With up to four remaining games, this is the Dogs’ chance to put all that preceded this winning streak far into the past.

Let’s see…here are the teams GA has beaten…
Auburn (6-4) And this is a beat up team that GA played at home after Auburn ran the gauntlet of playing SC, LSU, and Arkansas 3 out of 4 weeks.
1) Coastal Carolina (6-4)
2) Ole Miss (2-8)
3) Miss St (5-5)
4) Tenn (4-6)
5) Vanderbuilt (5-5)
6) Florida (5-5)
7) New Mexico St.(4-6)
So Georgia has beaten one team with a winning record and all the teams they beat have a combined record of (37-43)…really impressive.

I wouldn’t say UGA plays Bama next year just yet. That is yet to be seen because of Texas A&M and Mizzou. It is looking like Bama goes away and UGA get Mizzou instead. Talk about an easier game on paper. Bama will be losing some good players, but they would be harder than Mizzou more likely than not.

It is rare that a positive article is written about UGA. Articles could be written on the high level of integrity in recruiting (no oversigning like Alabama and South Carolina, no signing bonus’s like Auburn). Or what about the toughest drug policy in the SEC or ACC. Or what about the tremendous fan support (they double GT’s attendance). CMR don’t lash out at recruits for visiting other schools (like Paul Johnson).
I guess negative articles are easier.

Funny how Tech fans weren’t too keen on talking schedule strength when they were 6-0 after playing a Class AA high school schedule to start the season. They were on top of the world and high as a kite. These clowns are simply unbelievable. I’ve never seen a fan base that talks out of both sides of its mouth as much as Tech fans do.
Sure, our schedule has been light. We wouldn’t be 8-2 if we had played Florida’s schedule. Happy haters? That’s the way the cookie crumbles though. Nobody talks about how South Carolina didn’t have to play Bama or LSU this year either. Its not like we’ve been playing high school teams while they’ve been playing the NFC North. Get off it. Their SEC schedule isn’t much different from ours other than having to play at Arkansas. Big whoop. We didn’t have the luxury of playing a cupcake the 1st week of the season like they did so I’d say we’re even.
If Georgia beats Kentucky they will have won the SEC East fair and square. Accept this before it destroys you.

The headlines are followed by a photograph of Coach Richt silhouetted by a slightly blurred Carlton Thomas and Isaiah Crowell in the background. Is there a tie between the headlines and the photograph? I wish it would have been CMR with Ealey and King in the background. I do not want Thomas and Crowell to become to distant a pass. To piggyback on what JB said, I do not expect UGA to beat LSU…assuming both teams make it. I do believe both will be there but LSU has a much harder task in Arkansas that UGA vs. Kentucky; however, college football is full of games that the underdog wins, and big games at that. Boise State over Oregon, Boise State over Oklahoma, Pitt over West Virginia (to keep them out of the MNC game), Utah over Alabama, TCU over Wisconsin, West Viriginia over UGA (big spread at the time and WV was unknown), GT over UGA (once in 10 years
)…the list goes on and on. If UGA is on its A game and LSU loses the turnover battle, the game could definitely swing.

I am not predicting a UGA win over LSU…. But I do feel that UGA has a much better shot at winning the SECCG than most anti-uga bloggers here give us credit for.
Theres still some question about uga no doubt due to schedule early and mid season…. but we handled AU as convincingly as LSU…. And AU pulled the W over SC…. We have a great chance for the upset in my opinion…. IF…
1 The Doobie Brothers stay clean.
2 Murray stays focused and avoids turnovers.
3 CTG keeps the D focused and fired up!
These are not too much to ask or expect and I thinks LSU UGA is a close game!

Still@theKool-aidBAR, Bobo to head coach, somewhere else, please. This is what I have been hoping for all year long, that UGA would do good enough for him to be promoted out, because neither will Richt nor our AD dismiss him, and to be honest, they could not dismiss him now anyway, since we have had as good a year as we have. Please, someone take Bobo. I give him his credit for the good he has done. The problem is, this is probably the best he is going to be.

Why does every troll think LSU and Bama are the unbeatable? They’re good teams…but not great by any sense of the imagination!! As history puts it in the SEC..anyone can beat anyone on a given day! Lets see LSU play Oregon now…i’d bet there would be a completely different game. Oregon laid a duckfart in the first game of the season (on the road I might as well add)…and UGA laid a pile of dawgpoo on our first game! Other than that, LSU and Bama dont standout as unbeatable!!

Tech Mastery, are you kidding? You are chest beating certain UGA doom at the hands of Tech??? Have you not gotten used the notion that Tech doesn’t beat Georgia? You’ve won ONE in the last 9 and you still think that Tech will beat Georgia? Why? Is it the fact that we are playing in your “stadium.” It may be Tech’s stadium, but UGA fans will outnumber Tech fans in their own house. Every two years, that place is The Dawg’s House. Its not going to be close. If you can’t pass, you can’t beat UGA…and Tech CANNOT pass. If they could pass, they would have been able to come back in the 4th against VT. Don’t point to Clemson, either. They can’t stop the run to save their lives and thats all the Yellowjackets do. It won’t be so simple with The Dawgs. I watched Tech 3 times this year (Yea, I know). They have TWO plays that have been working for them.
1. A real wide pitch to a speedy RB who catch’s the pitch at almost full speed and on the corner. Seems to break the corner before pursuit gets there.
2. The QB delay pitch on the corner ( their bread and butter play). It seems to work because a WR comes across from the other side and blide sides the DB who is responsible for the pitch man.
Stop those two plays and it’s lights out for them

Yeah, they stubbed their toe against Auburn, but they also beat the Fabulous Dawgs IN ATHENS, and swept the rest of the SEC East along the way, despite losing their starting left tackle and heisman-quality running back, among others, along the way. The only other loss is to Arky on the road, which is no worse than losing to Boise state in Atlanta, so far as I can tell. So,again, where exactly is that “implosion”?
[waits....crickets chirps a bit....]
I’ll look forward to the columns coming our way after UGA has completed the GA Tech/SECCG/Bowl Game portion of the schedule, when the Dawgs actually play teams with winning records and a pulse. How’s the Kool-aid going to taste if they lose 2 out of three, say, or worse?

Is it just me or does all of college football just seem to be having an off year. Once you get passed LSU and Alabama the drop off in talent is extreme. SEC is having a relatively weak year, PAC-12 and Big 12 are top heavy as well. Big Ten has about eight teams still eligible for the conference championship, while the Big East and ACC are just plan out horrible. Furthermore, this has probably been the worst Heisman race in recent memory with no one really playing on that great level such as Tebow and Cam.

“Core” or not, you lost that game, chief. Learn to live with it, as that’s two in a row now, and you get to come to Columbia next year and have that “cheap chair” take you down a third straight year.
But hey, don’t worry, there are still plenty of Coastal Carolinas and New Mexicos out there for ya to sooth the ego!

Alabama is the most overrated team, watch them lose to Auburn. Hey bamers, did AU out bid you for a kicker too? Great to have all that defensive talent, but maybe the greatest coach EVER needs to save a few scholorships for offensive linemen that help their RBs score TDs. O wait he is going to be the new coach at TEXAS where there fan base does not have too take out second mortages on their trailors to pay a coach!

I get it!!! It seems that whenever doggie fans are down, they always want to pick on Tech because they are scared to pick on teams (Alabama, LSU) who they know have dominate lineman who have a great shot at beating them… or perhaps is it because while Tech Grads are working decent jobs, Redneck fans will still spend their whole lives waiting (and waiting) for a championship that may never come in their lifetimes…. A question of common sense: How many times have the pundits, experts, sports reporters, and fans of football, in general, picked at another team’s schedule? It doesn’t matter whether it’s HS, College, or Pro. If the team has that winning “itch”, it can beat anybody, regardless of who they have played. It’s all about match ups, plain and simple. Sure, UGA hasn’t seen an LSU all season, but LSU hasn’t played one team like UGA. Alabama, stop it; they are challenged offensively. Oregon, stop it; Plenty of speed but no defense and they are just too small as a team overall ( a west coast Arkansas). West Virginia; accomplished nothing since R. Rodriguez left and not enough athletes period. How many times has a wild card NFL team, that barely made it to the playoffs, beaten the “superior” team? Even Boise St. beat a team with Adrien Peterson on the roster. Sports is all about match ups and UGA definitely matches up. That’s not kool-aid, that’s football analysis.

@GO DAWGS !: check your information before you post. UGA and LSU have played 4 of the same opponents and 4 teams ranked similarly nationally in Total Offense (Boise-15th and W. Virginia-13th, NMSU-38th and Bama-34th, Vandy-99th and W. Kentucky-106th, Mississippi-113th and Kentucky-118th). The only major off-set to the opponents are Oregon-8th and South Carolina-86th. So the arguement that the UGA Defense has not faced a similiar challenge as LSU is a myth. On the other hand the UGA Offense a similar defensive challenge as has LSU’s and is ranked nationally at 4th (LSU is 79th). Outside of the same common opponents, non common opponents that share similar defensive rankings are S. Carolina-7th and Alabama-1st, Boise-21st and W. Virginia-28th. UGA has faced the 22nd, 94th and 112th defenses while LSU has the 60th, 63rd, and 66th. Statistically it looks like UGA is the more complete team.

It’s true: the proof this season will be in the SEC Championship game (let’s admit we’re going to beat KY, it’s only a question of by how much). I, for one, can hardly wait, and would love nothing more than to face Bama or LSU. Sure, they have great defenses but I believe we are very close on that side of the ball. Then, there’s offense… Go Dawgs! Sic ‘em!

First. The schedule you have this year, set a decade ago or set by the conference, is the schedule you play.
Second. Where are all the “fire Bobo” and “fire Richt” people the last few weeks?
Georgia is going to end up winning 10 straight games. They lost to the two teams they were supposed to lose to. They have won, or will win, the games they were/are supposed to win.
And they have a another shot at an upset in the SECCG.

Nick Saban needs to get himself a real QB at some point. Everyone in the SEC, that is the ones who can get good athletes and players, have upgraded defensively, piggybacking off of his model. But for some reason, LSU, Tennessee, UGA,Florida, S. Carolina, and Arkansas all have better QB’s and an offense that’s light years more wide open. UGA fans really have convinced themselves that they are one of the best teams in the country because of the Auburn win haven’t they? Oregon just slaughtered a top 5 team on the road. They put up 27 points on LSU while turning the ball over 4 times. You can’t seriously think that a team that a team that got blown out by Boise St, lost to South Carolina, and almost lost to Vandy would be able to hang with Oregon.

This season has been very enjoyable past the first two weeks and the first half against Florida. Dawgs are a young, talented team and the schedule has provided the needed opportunity to learn on the job. Boise was just too good (at the moment) and too experienced to deal with in the opener. Good life lesson. SC was the real wake-up call; the Dawgs were just as good and could have won that game but they made far too many mistakes and played horribly soft at critical moments. They needed time to develop, and they’ve done that. How far they’ve come will soon enough be apparent.
Richt and Bobo are among the best at developing quarterbacks and showcasing offensive skill players. Grantham appears to have addressed coaching, attitude, and discipline issues on defense, and the seniors are anchoring a productive offensive line. I don’t expect them to win the SEC Championship this year, but I do expect the Dawgs will compete and show well, and open some eyes around the country.

Still have doubts about Bobo against a quality defense, and if he is matched up against LSU’s D.C. who was at Tenn. when Fulmer was there, it is still a scary thought. But, i will say that Grantham is the real deal, and he has the athletes to play with anyone, and that includes LSU and Bama. People can say whatever they want about LSU and Bama’s defensive talent, but UGA’s defensive talent is as good as either of them. UGA’s front 7 on defense is as big and as talented as Bama, and probably better than LSU. UGA haters might want to study UGA and LSU, LSU is ranked 2nd on defense, and UGA is ranked 4th. W.Virginia threw for over 400 yards against LSU’s mighty defense, Boisy St. only threw for around 275 yards against UGA, and Boisy St is light years ahead of W.V. when it comes to offense. Add to that the fact that UGA ranks 30th in total offense, and LSU ranks 79th in total offense. Bottomline, UGA’s defense will shut down LSU’S offense like Bama did, they question is can LSU stop UGA’s offense which is superior to Bama’s offense. The answer is no, UGA will score touchdowns on LSU, and Bama couldn’t, LSU want score t.d’s against UGA. So keep saying LSU will destroy UGA in Atlanta, want happen, and come on this blog after SECC game and brag about mighty LSU.

To put the season in better perspective, UGA has won games against teams that were barely any better than a good high school eleven. They’ve done it with players who are functionally illiterate and would not be admitted to any school with real standards. They’ve also won with scofflaws who think nothing of doing underage drinking, driving while intoxicated, and using illegal substances. Not to mention at least one who urinates anytime and any place he chooses (and I’m not talking about the mangy flea-bitten mutt).
A really sorry, stinking dump of an athletic program.

Fun fact: the top 2 SEC teams in total offense? Texas A&M (8), Mizzou (12). Arkansas and UGA round out the top 30.
In total defense, UGA is 4th but Alabama is in a class all by themselves in terms of yards allowed and TDs surrendered.
While true that UGA got break by bypassing LSU (turns outvwe will likely play them) and Bama but throwing Arkansas in there as some unstoppable juggernaut is overstating their standing by a good bit. They are roughly our equal on offense but have virtually no defense at all.
Also, when talking about the aggregate records of the teams UGA has beaten, check out the aggregate record of the SEC teams Bama and LSU have beaten.

You GA haters crack me up with laughter. All your talk about schedule, weak east, a better GT, NFL types like LSU and Bama. The schedule is what it is, the team didn’t set the schedule, the team didn’t make any others East Conference SEC weaker. The team just played the games. They lost two at the beginning of the season and they have won evwer since. They have overcome injuries, suspensions of tailbacks, mistakes of youth and have grown stronger and better as the year progressed. The year has been good and it will get better! I love the Bulldawgs! Go Dawgs, it has yet to be seen just how far you can go as a team!

So when’s that new kid going to be ready to take over? Is he retarded, or does he just grow slow? I want people to think of me as the doggie that brought wins after a couple of stumbles. I don’t want to go back to getting kicked again. I’ve seen the future, and it ain’t pretty.

Get a life, guys. You can only play the teams on your schedule. Fact is, on any given day, an upset can happen–anybody see the ISU-OSU game last night? Remember Michigan-App State? And I do recall a certain 1-9-1 Georgia Tech team which tied top-ranked Notre Dame a few years back. Good teams have to show up each week. That’s something the Dawgs have not been doing the last few years (i.e. Colorado, Central Florida). Mark my words: this team is different. The attitude problems are largely gone, discipline is back, and the team is talented and hungry. Today’s game will be Senior Day. It will be a day to get a solid win and rest the starters in the second half, and it will not be a thing of great beauty, but it will clinch a berth in the SECCG for the Dawgs, which is always Goal One. Goal Two? Continue the domination against Georgia Tech, which will happen. Goal three? A much taller order: beat an elite team. It’s a true challenge. This team would be 15 point underdogs to LSU, which is legitimately the best team in America. But you have to play the game. We weren’t supposed to beat LSU in 2005, either…

Sorry for the bad news pups, but you are gonna get beat down in the dome in a few weeks. you may think you are a great team but just who have you played? you dodged us, bama and arkansas this year so far. all 3 teams would wax the floor with your pitiful team and coaches. please extend Richts contract based on the fact that he has beaten 8 big east teams in a row. you guys wouldn’t survive a season playing in the sec west. bowl eligibility would be in question. just face it, your defense is a myth. it got toasted by boise state! let me repeat that… boise state! bring that wannabe behind to the dome and get a real taste of what it is like to be a REAL powerhouse program.
First off, ask oklahoma, or okie state(who were both beaten by unranked teams) what is possible and what isnt. Secondly, the dawgs are playing a lot better than at the beginning of the season. No doubt the dawgs need to focus and not look past ky, but if they win that game, they have a lot of motivation to win the sec. Lsu still has to play arkansas…and that is not a guaranteed win either. Guess these next few weeks will be very interesting………….

5105 uoad,
The reason tech. fans don’t scream about their conference like UGA does, is because Tech. seldom wins it, and then when they do it gets taken away from them because they are put on probation for the second time in the new century. Don’t worry though, tech. does lead the rest of the country in one statistic that says volumes about your school. I believe you are the only div. 1 school, to have two NCAA probation’s first in the new century. Now that is impressive. I almost forgot another important stat. you will enjoy. UGA has lost one time to tech. in the new century and is preparing to give tech. another holiday season butt kicking again this year. Now your school, really has something to brag about for sure. In other words, in the state of Georgia, your team is an after thought. You need look no farther than your antiquated offensive game plan, and the fact that you can’t even fill your stadium, for important games to realize just how low you are on the totem pole. Your team has no future to look forward to, since you constantly struggle to recruit players that even want to be associated with your team. You play a run oriented offense, and have an offensive line weighing an average of 295 pounds, that causes you to resort to cut blocks and chop blocks, and you wonder why you are a second tier team in the ACC. Man, that shows recruiting power for sure.

GT plays in the softest league in the land and they could not run the table and neither could Clemson, who lost badly to soft GT and their sad Defense.
No, the argument of soft schedule simply does not hold up. I could argue that UGA simply ladid down vs GT in 08 after we ssumed a huge lead and let GT beat them when rashad jones missed tackle after tackle and Matt S pumped GT a quick 6 pic and our kick returner fumbled on the 22 and GT scored seconds later. See? Words ………………. mean nothing.
YOU PLAY THE SCHEDULE and that is part of the game.

November 19th, 2011
9:41 am
Another factoid …………………UGA WILL WHUP GT in every phase of the game and when it is over GT will be looking at 45-16 job.
Murray will torch GT with QUICK 6 TDs and run up a nifty 250 yds via the PASS.
UGA backs as a groups will churn out 185-200 decent yds
Yes, GT’s GIMMICK O will churnn up 345-375 VERY EMPTY RUSHING YARDS and score 2 times and kick a FG.
Next day, GT’s nerdy fans will be saying “we won, we won, we won cause GT out gained UGA on the ground and so we won”. Sad, pathetic they are. PROBATION DOES THAT TO A SCHOOL.
The problem with that argument ……………..BOWLS DO NOT select a team on the yards alone. They select on their record and GT will once again be faced with the Independence Bowl and with just a little bit of luck, UGA will GO TO DALLAS and PLAY IN THE COTTON BOWL !!!!!

Two hottest teams in the conference right now are Arkansas in West and Georgia which might be the hottest team in the country. Reminder before you Dawgs foolishly “annoint” yourselves AGAIN…your SEC wins come against teams with a combined SEC record of 10-30. Beat Kentucky and it will be a combined record of 11-35. Hardly murderer’s row when the 3 teams you have not played are a combined 17-2!!

what a ridiculous thing to say..no one is “anointing” anything…..just saying that as this season has shown anything is possible. There is nothing wrong with getting excited about your team and believing in them…get over yourself.

Yes. Go dogs! But let’s not forget the Tennessee problem in 2007 when they won the east, but still fired Fulmer the next year. Let’s take this two years at a time.

Bamards better hope GA beats lsu for the SEC so they can slide through the door to the national championship game….There’s no guarantee otherwise….most don’t want rematch, so without playing in SEC championship game, you Bamards better be nice to GA.

The snake oil salesman (T. Boone Pickens or whatever his bumpkin name is) from OK St. tried to buy his championship for them, but instead will have the wrath of the ncaa on their program soon enough….starting with the suspicious change of mind of the flip of the GA WR to OK St. earlier this year. They were bottom feeders for years and suddenly emerge a powerhouse? I think not, without Pickens dollars in their pockets.

Someone else said it first but truly, “This is fun”. After the beginning of the season I thought Tech was going to have to carry the torch for Georgia college football. They will dismantle Kentucky and the SEC Championship game will be one for the books……!!
By the way, someone posting under “Sid” in DLeds blog is not me and I won’t be posting there anyway.

The snake oil salesman (T. Boone Pickkens or whatever his bumpkin name is) from OK St. tried to buy a championship, but instead he’s gonna get the ncaa searching all around their campus. Quick rise to powerhouse? Think not, without a few dollars in the wrong places. Might want to start with a check on the GA WR that flipped a commitment earlier this year to OK St.

You nailed it Jeff. A well written summary of the past 4-5 years for UGA. It explains the reason(s) there have been Richt naysayers and confirms the faith that Richt supporters had. All of them are loyal Dawg supporters. Let’s do away with all of the name calling and unite behind the Dawgs.

I’ve never understood how anyone could take any pride in the UGA football team. Look at their history for the past forty years: how can anyone ignore Jan Kemp and the remedial studies scam, the Jim Harrick sleaze, the DUIs in the athletic office (not just Damon Evans), the DUIs and other arrests of players, the #1 party school label (for the most drunk students), the public urinators, the drug use, the suspensions and outright dismissals, the Fulmer Cup, and on and on?
As disgraceful and sickening as it is, I don’t see many alumni and fans demanding an end to this sleazy activity. It sets UGA apart as the kind of school that decent people despise and it’s become an embarrassment to the whole state of Georgia.
Will it ever end? Not while Mark Richt is at UGA. Richt is the biggest hypocrite in the United States. And even with the cheating and lawlessness that he ignores, he still doesn’t win the SEC.

Yet another dominant win for the Dawgs over a monster program!!! LSU won’t be able to contain this juggernaut UGA team…. lmao, you clowns actually earn degrees from UGA?
I can’t wait for LSU to wipe the floor up with this team!

The UGA students were missing because they were all at Occupy Athens.
They may as well protest, since they won’t get any job offers with their worthless UGA degrees.

Amazing video of a high school senior from Columbia TN who kicks the ball dead straight 75-80 yards in the air. He was successful on 54 of 54 attempts this season….100%. For some crazy reason, he wants to go to Georgia Tech.

Believe in miracles Jeff?
First I wish to congratulate the Dawgs and Russ on reaching the SEC championship showdown. Nine wins in a row are nine wins regardless of who the opponents were. That being said. If the Dawgs play like this at the Georgia Dome they may as well RSVP out right now. For most of the game it was difficult to determine which team was competing for a playoff berth and which one was primping for next season. My wife asked me what was wrong with the Dawg offense to which I replied they must have been hungover from partying the night before. It was the only thing I could think of which made sense. Aaron Murray was awful. That tiny runner was okay but the fumbles were not. The Dawg FG kicker resurrected back into one of the best in the game. Thankfully since Mark Richt is a big believer in FGs. Terrible playcaller Mike Bobo was on a roll for several games but fell back into a rut with inexplicable inept play calls which left those at Sanford Stadium in a justifiable booing mood. I could not be prouder of the Dawg defense. I could tell after the Wildcats put up their 10th point that the proud Dawgs were determined to close the door at that point. They did. The biggest takeaway of the contest took place right before intermission when a fumble recovery allowed the Dawgs to go into the lockerrom with a 12-10 lead at instead of in a 10-9 hole. Those four FGs were important. The lone Dawg TD ensured the margin was more than a single score. The Dawg offense was not mentally prepared to play against a totally inferior opponent. That is on Richt and Bobo. I have nothing but praise for the defensive coach. The Dawgs are a Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde act this season. I only hope Dr Jekyll shows up in Atlanta. No matter who the opponent is!

It’s easy to right the ship when you play the easiest schedule in the conference. LSU, Arkansas and Alabama would beat them easily. Just watch the SEC championship game. They haven’t beaten anyone of consequence.
