Ending Dogs’ drought against Florida starts between ears

Mark Richt was doused by players after beating Florida in 2004, but there haven't been many celebrations in last 21 years.

Mark Richt and Dogs celebrated after 2004 win over Florida, but celebrations have been few.

ATHENS – It was the Tuesday of Florida week, and Mark Richt took the expected route for a coach who has been on the losing end of too many of these things. Downplay the history. Downplay the emotions. Downplay any suggestions that the other team is in Georgia’s heads.

Like that first play of the game last year when Aaron Murray threw an interception to Janoris Jenkins? It wasn’t about Murray being overcome by the moment, Richt said. “I think it has a lot more to do with the fact [Florida] just played well. A guy breaks on the ball and he makes a play. I don’t think it had anything to do with emotion. It’s more of an execution issue, really.”

Here’s the problem with execution issues: An athlete’s body parts can do only what the head tells them to, and sometimes there are all of these things that get in the way. Nerves. Atmosphere. Confidence. The general dread of, “We’ve been here before.”

This was Murray’s answer to the same question Richt was asked: “There were definitely a lot of nerves, a lot of jitters, and I definitely didn’t start out the way I wanted to.”

Georgia plays Florida again Saturday. A case could be made that this is the most important game in the series during the Richt era. There are potential ramifications for both this season (SEC East race) and the big picture. Theoretically, the Bulldogs could lose to Florida and still win the East. (Richt: “This wouldn’t bury us, the way things are happening in this league. It wouldn’t count us out, [but winning] it wouldn’t count us in.”)

But a loss would drop Richt to 2-9 against Florida. That would be a difficult thing to sell to the administration after this season, especially since the Gators carry a three-game losing streak into this game for the second consecutive year (and won last season 34-31).

Richt must win this game. The Florida game is simply that important to the season and to the program. Florida matters more. It follows that it has caused the most misery.

The numbers are dizzying: three consecutive losses, 11 of 13, 18 of 21.

Vince Dooley went 17-7-1. His 25-game winning percentage: .700. Since then, Ray Goff (1-6), Donnan (1-4) and Richt (2-8) have gone 4-18. Their 22-game percentage: .182.

How can players and coaches not think of that history, even if they weren’t here for most of it?

Some players weren’t even born yet. Murray? He actually was born Nov. 10, 1990 — the day Steve Spurrier’s Gators tortured Goff’s Dogs, 38-7. That’s when this 21-game stretch started. So it’s all Murray’s fault.

When one signature program loses 18 of 21 games to another, it’s not just about talent. At some point, it’s between the ears.

Georgia’s starting quarterbacks in the past three meetings have thrown nine interceptions. Florida’s, one. The Dogs have committed 12 turnovers. Florida, one.

That not about athleticism. That’s one team being calm and the other having a meltdown.

Richt has tried different ways to prepare his players. Twice, he brought in former players and coaches who had previous success against the Gators to speak to the team during the bye week.

“One year we won, one year we lost,” he said. “I think we might be better off just focusing the things that truly matter: What’s your job? What’s your assignment? What are you going to do if this happens? When we get there, I don’t think we’ll have any problem with emotions.”

Easier said than done. Defensive back Sanders Commings said, “It’s hard not to get caught up” in the hype and surroundings. Early in last year’s game, Florida’s Trey Burton fumbled at Gators’ 14-yard-line. Commings had a chance to fall on the ball. Instead, he tried to pick it up and run for a touchdown. But he failed, and the Gators kept possession, eventually driving 91 yards for their first touchdown.

“It was early, but it could’ve changed the game,” Commings said. “Next time I’ll just fall on the ball.”

That’s the way it has gone for most of the past 21 years. Richt made history in Athens, winning two SEC titles early in his tenure. But this is one part of history he hasn’t been able to change. And as much as he wants to try to play this off as being just another game, it isn’t.

Positive emotions are really good if they are accompanied by a good game plan, and even better execution by the players. The so called, “emotions” must be part of positive, fruitful practices and video study of the opponent, well before the game. Emotions have a way of dissolving with the first few solid hits. And if you are on the receiving end – - – getting the “stew” knocked out of you – the emotions fade even faster. Bulldog touchdowns and defensive stops will stimulate “in game” emotions. Those are the important ones! If we( Dogs) play really well, and don’t get stupid penalties, we will win………….even if we don’t jump the highest coming out of the dressing room before the game.

Nice point….I bet the post game celebration would be very peaceful and with the stadium and parking lots being empty it would mean quick trips to the concession stand, restroom and a quicker exit out of town to Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa with all the UGA fans at home watching “Cops” or Beevis and Butthead.

This saturdays CBS game will be the best one on air all fall unitl November 5th, but the problem with this game is they are both playing for a shot in the East and both teams are about the 5th, 6th or 7th best teams in the entire conference.

Saying that…The Missouri Tigers will feel right at home in the east in 2012 where they may have a shot at winning that division in its first year in the league.

Although it’s fashionable for the media to make a big deal out of this game, a loss won’t make a coaching change inevitable. Sorry. Dawgs could go 8-4, not win the SEC-East and Richt would still probably stay. And why not ? That’s improvement, and I just can’t see 8-4 costing a coach his job. Won’t happen.

I really miss Tony Barnhart’s columns during Florida-Georgia week. Barnhart would actually engage in reporting, and write columns based on what his sources had to say on point. The remaining AJC sports columnists, who shall remain nameless, seem to believe that all that is required is that they post a blog topic based on their opinion and very little else. Yes it is absolutely a mental block. We have to go into this game convinced we can win. No gimmicks, no alternate uniforms. We MUST be well prepared, and the execution must be precise. We cant give the game away as we have in the past. I believe we will be ready. TOO much is riding on this game. But dont tell our players that! Line up in the I FORMATION and pound the ball until they prove they can stop it. We have to gain the mental edge. If we come out and slap them in the mouth and make them think for 1 second, WE GOT EM! If we come out flat and predictable its gonna be a long afternoon. If Blair Walsh isnt successful, SIT HIM DOWN! If we start getting flag happy, pull them and sit them down! We have to play flawless and as a team. I think we will, finally put a complete game together. DAWGS WIN 24-17.

Jeff, its not as simple as records. Sure Vince Dooley had his way with UF, but UGA typically had the week off before while Florida played Auburn. Dooley had an extra week to prepare while Florida played a heated rivalry game.

Spurrier flipped this around as soon as he became coach at Florida. Since then, UF has only played 4 times before the UGA game and lost 2 of those to Richt. When you look at most of Richt’s losses to UF, UF jumps out to an early lead, and UGA climbs back but falls short. The week off matters in this series. Vince Dooley never beat UF when they had a week off and neither has Richt. Donnan’s win is the only one of that nature.

This time both teams have the week off, so yeah, no excuses this year. But to trivialize this series like it’s one team in the head of another is wrong. Spurrier knew exactly what the problem was when he became coach, and the rest has been history.

The red clay paws take their annual trip to that foreign land, south of the border to chew on slimy lizards. The gekko’s think they have this one licked like their eyeball, based on recent history. But these canines have a different plan for the swamp water drinkers. Last years game was a close one as the two played the first OT game in series history. And this year Russ looks to flip that score and start a new streak for the incoming Uga, which it fondly had pre-evil genious period.
The defense looks like it’s trying it’s best to get back to the junkyard glory. And with the reptiles quarterbacks hanging by a thread, those junkyard dogs could wind up shredding them to pieces.
The offense will step enough as the wrath of the Murray kid will befall on his naysayers.
Canines have the bigger bite against these lizards….and who likes an ugly reptile anyways…..Leonards Loser….FL 14-34

Of late, Florida has won even when it shouldn’t have. Like last year.

When I was young, the tables were turned–UGA won and won and won.

But maybe the change has come. In my view, Muschamp was a questionable hire for Florida–nothing has happened to change that view, though I know it’s early. There were several highly rated head coaches who would have welcomed the opportunity to go to Gainesville.

Still, UGA needs to play a complete game to win–and the key to that is Aaron Murrary. If Murray has a good game, Dawgs win.

If I’m Muschamp, here’s what I would do in preparation for UGA:

1) Get a decent haircut

2) No matter how much I would WANT Brantley to play, I need to prepare as if he wasn’t

3) In reviewing game films of the last three games, I do not have a good backup QB

4) UGA has a big, solid defense with the only weakness being depth

5) Whoever is at QB, throw the screens, quick outs and slants

6) Run the “WildCat/WildGator/WildWhatever” to take the QB issue out of the equation

7) Change it up by running the no-huddle to try and get the D tired (see #4). This may not work early but if continued it could either wear down the starting D or force them to substitute to lesser players

That’s my gameplan as Muschamp but not necessarily in that order…..except for #1…..Go Dawgs.

If hes the man Richt is he steps aside to please the masses that be. In other words, “Be careful what you wish for, cause you cant have your cake and eat it too. Georgia has between 3 to 5 turnovers when they play the Gators. The results are a loss! Florida doesn’t really beat the Dawgs, its more of Georgia giving the game away year after year. This is a tradition that has been handed down from team to team for the past 21 years. Georgia has gotten so good at giving the Gators the ball, that they decided not to delay the turnovers last year by giving them a turnover on the first play of the game. If they don’t turn the ball over, I suspect they will win the game regardless of what happens. I recommend they learn how to take care of the rock and execute their game plan.Throwing an interception the first play of the game tells me the Georgia offense was very predictable.

Also, if any team executes another successful fake punt against the Dawgs, I’m going to sue the coaching staff for non-support. Has Georgia ever faked a punt in the history of football? Bring out all the stops! Onside kicks, fake punts, trick plays, and fumble rooskie. Any player who is flagged with a personal foul is out of the game for 2 series. So he can get his head out of his A**!

Goff wiped out all good will he earned as a player by how he responded to his firing. He spent years denigrating Dooley, after Dooley gave him two more years than any sane man would’ve, because he didn’t want to fire a former player. Goff=no class..

Good article Jeff. I think you are right that the Gators have gotten in the Dawgs’ head. Georgia needs to treat this like any other game. I know, easier said than done.

On paper I think Georgia has the edge but I think the off week is going to be a big help for the Gators.

I agree with Bama in Atlanta that I think the Gators will try to do as much as possible to take the pressure off its QBs. I believe they will try to move the ball with a ball control offense and hope that Demps or Rainey can make a big play. I think if the Gators have problems moving the ball it will be a long day.

I would not want to bet on this game. It’s too close to call and yes it is probably the most important game in Richt’s tenure.

I’m looking forward to watching it.

“Relax–this will be an easy win. This may be the worst fla team since the 70s or 80s—their offense is absolutely bad and will have trouble even getting first downs against this monster Ga D.”

This is exactly why I think the pressure is much more on Georgia to win this game than Florida. This is the Dawgs best chance in years and this very well may work against them.

There are two teams that will enter into this game—-one will win and one will lose——–there is only one thing is this sport and it is winning—-when you lose you are done. It is all coaching because Dooley could win. He did it by not passing alot and slowing the momentum of the game and eating up the clock–he wore down the defense—-but Richt is too complicated—he wants to throw 60 passes a game and against Florida this never works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I repeat —Murray is not Joe Namath. And his recievers aren’t good enough to run all the way down the field when they catch it————————–so why not just run and break the other teams backs??????????? One team colored their equipment red and black, the other colored their Orange and Blue. They two villages were separated by an imaginary line placed by elders many many years ago. Some young villagers from one side would seldom cross over to the other side to join them in their fight for their homeland. One such village had won 18 out of the last 21 battles…….

Does it really matter where LSU or Alabama finds and defeats their division rival. Either way the drive back to Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge will be much easier with the light post game traffic once they are up by 21 at half.

Jeff,

Once again, you are showing what an agenda you and your AJC colleagues have. Tech has lost to lesser opponents two weeks in a row. Not a single comment from you. When Tech was winning, you had plenty of time to heap praise on their program. I expect you to write a nasty article about Tech the week UGA plays them because we have had similar domination over Tech in the last 20 years. Magically, that article won’t appear Thanksgiving week. You have barely written about Tech’s second probation in five years. Yahoo Sports had to report Tech’s probation; yet, this occurred right in the AJC’s backyard. What gives here? I know you will deny that there is no agenda here. Total BS.

Sounds like you and Mark Bradley might need to get your head in the game. You and the AJC are first rate losers, not Mark Richt.

I don’t really believe that the AJC has an agenda against UGA. Both Schultz and Bradley have had favorable and critical columns about both programs. UGA has had the touchiest fan base this year that I can ever remember. The fact is that whenever negative things happen regarding the UGA program whether it be the players performances or coaches after the game (re: Vandy) the fan base takes it out on the reporters. Whatever is newsworthy is going to be reported and op-ed pieces are generally the most scrutinized especially when the writer is writing about either one of the hometown teams and usually giving a very logical opinion regardless of whether it is popular or agreeable to the readers. I have to commend both Schultz and Bradley for consistently taking the bullets and sometimes personal attacks from the bloggers here in a professional and polite, good humored way for the most part!

Richt went 6-7 last year.

9–4 would be a 50% INCREASE/IMPROVEMENT in W’s.

That means beating New Mexico (win 6), Kentucky (win 7), Tech( win 8), and either Florida or Auburn or winning the Bowl game (win 9).

He can lose to Florida, and still get to 9 wins and a top 25 finish. That won’t get him fired, but will get him a contract extension and a raise.

One thing bothers me, and has for several years now…why do we seem to not have much ‘football smarts’? Case in point, the punt we blocked vs Vandy, I think it was, may have been Tenn. The ball is rolling around toward the sideline, and instead of falling on it or trying to pick it up, our player just stood there waiting for it to stop, as if it were not a live ball….against Vandy, we get yet another
illegal substitution penalty, and this one coming out of a time out. How hard is it for the staff to coach these things? I truly cannot remember a Saban, Meyer, or even a Miles coached team having more than one a year. We seem to have them every week. Why?

If only Richt had decided concentrating on FOOTBALL and not trying to find the next motivational ploy was the best approach to this game years ago. This program lost it’s mojo when Meyer said he would make us pay for ”the celebration” then crushed us. There is no way out except to play better football than UF and not panic.

Another negative UGA article from Schultz or Bradley. What a shock! Here something for you Schultz, UGA beats Florida in 2011. Who else has Florida owned in the last 21 years? All SEC teams dont get the pleasure of playing one of the best programs year after year after year, every season. Florida was awesome with Spurrier coaching. Dooley wouldnt have done any better. Florida was NOTHING when Dooley coached cornhole. Then they were down some until Tebow showed up. Now they are good but very beatable with Brantley and without him, they are toast come Saturday. Murray will play the best game of the year. UGA will have no more than one turnover. This is UGA’s year Schultz. I am sure after they beat Florida you will focus on any negative you can dream up. All that matters is the W when you are playing an SEC team. Style points dont matter when you are rebuilding especially. You need to be rebuilding because the only thing you have written that was good lately, is your weekly column with your predictions. Predict this, UGA beats Florida this Saturday. UGA wins the SEC in 2012 and 2013. Schultz gets fired for not knowing what the hell he has been talking about. Missing the forest for the trees and steadily bad-mouthing the most beloved team in the state bar none. I rebuke all your negative comments from over the last 12 months and I speak victory. growth and maturity over the UGA football team and wisdom to all the coaches. It must suck to be a UGA player or coach and read the AJC if Bradley or Schultz are doing the writing. Talk about unbalanced and overly critical and negative. The biggest game of the year and you just do your best to dampen the atmosphere. You better focus your negativity and criticism on Tech, their season is about to crash harder than the Braves and Red Sox! UGA is on the rise!

The Dawg has turned! Lookout Florida, Auburn and Tech!

EVERYBODY LOOKOUT IN 2012 AND 2013 AND BEYOND! IT IS THE DECADE OF THE DAWG BABY! THE UGA DAWGS!

P.s…..Donnan wasnt good with donors and boosters and crap like that. That was his downfall more than his coaching….He want a bad coach but he wasnt any good at beating Florida either. Richt should be 4-4 against them truthfully. Turnovers killed us in the last 3 or UGA would have won one 2 of the 3…..Donnans and Goffs were mostly blowouts. They sucked when Dooley coached. It was a win every year just about. They were not a top team in the SEC, much less the nation when Dooley coached.

All you Richt haters are gonna be hatin life when he is still coaching winning SEC championships!

You jokers know absolutely NOTHING about football. Sit back and learn somethign from your elders! Try to get coach fired and you are all clueless! Unless Miles or Saban is coming to UGA, anybody else would be a downgrade! Including Boise St.’s coach. After a year or two, they would just be mediocre in the SEC because they would be figured out. Just like Tech….figured out and when it comes time to play a mediocre team, they will go down…especially on the road…huh Tech?

You can bet one thing. If Muschamp loses 3 or 4 in a row to Richt, he won’t be hanging around FL long. Just the opposite for Richt. He loses 8 out of 10 to FL and he is still hanging around. What does that tell you about the difference in the programs? FL won’t tolerate a loser but UGA will. Just ask Zook.

It’s is certainly Aaron Murray’s fault that we Lost last year. Should have been a 6-Loss Florida team, who featured the # 82 NCAA Total Offense. Florida has not had a worse football team until you go all the way back to 1987. Aaron Murray had 2 fumbles and lost 1 of the 2 fumbles against Florida, threw the football 37 times and ran the ball 8 times for an average of 2 yards a carry including his 3 sacks for minus 21 yards, and Aaron Murray threw 3 interceptions, including the most costly interception – the last 1 to Florida in overtime. It cost us the game against a Florida team you have to go back 23 years to find a worse team for Florida.

If Georgia goes out and plays like they can without the personal fouls, late hits, and smack talking, if Georgia can simply execute and play solid football, they should win this game. That is all there is to say.

I don’t doubt that you are selectively finding a “pattern”. Forget Florida and look at how Georgia has historically performed after a bye week. It doesn’t always help them. Why would the bye week selectively favor only Florida?

Selective sampling of historical data only adds to the Athens Delusion Syndrome. After your near loss to Vandy, many Georgia fans were quick to point out that Georgia finished well the last time they lost to Vandy. That’s called “grasping at straws”.

CMR MUST win this contest. But I would argue that winning this

under the coach. The true evidence on real progress is whether the
team can win out an relatively easy schedule and have at least a
respectable performance in the SEC championship game assuming SC loses
like most of us think they will. Anything less and there will be a
lot of grumbling if CMR is retainded. And God knows even the some

If we can’t beat Florida we are not deserving to play in the SEC championship! it is that simple. Can Georgia beat Florida? Georgia has the athletes to beat the crap out of Florida! will they do it? I doubt it because BoBo is our play caller and he is very inconsistent? Florida on the other hand has pretty good players but the offensive personal do not match the system. To be fair, in many games in the past Mark Richt came very close to beat pretty good Florida squad except in 08 and 09, add to that Florida almost always had a bye week before Georgia. This game should be very interesting and even can’t wait! I know Florida lost to Bama and LSU who they destroy everybody, but Florida did not even compete with them except the first half against Bama. It will be neck to neck but at the end I think Georgia will prevail

I believe UGA has the talent to win out but the questions remain: Does their coaching staff have it between their ears to call a game or has the idea of FLorida dominating them gotten to the coaches as well. If UGA wins out and SC wins out, obviously SC goes on to play either Alabama or LSU int he SEC championship. Think about this, wouldn’t it be better for UGA to not go to the Championship game and get blown out, which will irk all of us getting blown out yet again in the Dome. Instead UGA would get a very good bowl game if they won out and could finish the season in the top 10 or even top 5. it could happen…but it all comes back to coaching, coaching and coaching. UGA should beat florida, should blow out New Mexico State and Kentucky which leaves Auburn as a toss up and Ga. Tech.

Despite what some people think, this game is HUGE!! It’s HUGE every year, especially in a year where a win would put you almost in the drivers’ seat and a loss would once again kill any chances you might have. It’s HUGE for Richt’s job too. 2-9 shows you can’t win with any sort of consistency. If you can’t beat an SEC East opponent with any consistency then you won’t compete for championships on a consistent basis. Great teams compete consistently.

Whoever wins the 1st quarter, has a 100 yard rusher, and has the tigh end with the most yards in the game, wins 9 out of 10 times.

That’s strategy. And that’s the only 3 part game plan that’s been proven to work 90% of the time in the series.

I’d like to see UGA win out and possibly have a rematch with Boise in a bowl game. I think the outcome would be a lot different. But then again, it would be vintage UGA to have USCe lose to Tenn. and have the Dawg’s get creamed by Fla. All we can do is watch.

First we get coaches who can coach. THEN you worry about the rest. We dont have the first so even if we do beat a weak Florida team, it means NOTHING. Want to contend, have to play contenders. Beating Vandy 13 times a year wont get you a NC, just ask Boise State., or TCU, or Utah.

Regarding one of the first posts after this article, “The same thing can be said for Tech and Uga”.

There is one blatant difference.

It’s the talent level.

Georgia has consistently had a top 5 or top 10 class as in the Gators. GT usually ranks much lower than that with their draft classes.

So, there’s the difference.

Jeff -

FWIW I agree with the premise of your article. All we have to do is look at the UGA vs. Georgia Tech “rivalry”. We are so far in Tech’s head that we can be winless and they can be undefeated and our players would still expect to win that game and the Tech players would no doubt experience insecurity going into the game.

Florida is in our head, plain and simple. When I was at UGA, we owned Florida, which is why this current losing streak is so hard to swallow.

In 4 out of 5 wins in 2011, Murray throws 25 or LESS passes.

The more you put the ball in #11 hands, the more games you gonna lose.

Run the ball, and limit Murray’s touches.

Murray cannot win this game. If he or Bobo or Richt thinks he can, and Murray throws 28+ times, Florida wins.

Jeff, Although this game has always been big, the fact is there have been only three times, out of the 18 losses, that UGA was playing for a chance to win the East, this being the fourth, so its not like Florida has been keeping us out of the Championship game. I would give that credit to Tennessee, more so than Florida.

Murray has thrown 27 or more passes in 10 games so far.

His record in those 10 games is 2-8.

His 2 victories were against bad teams, Vanderbilt & Idaho State.

The Dogs have lost 9 games in last 2 seasons.

In 7 out of 9 losses, Murray tried to win it throwing the ball 27 or more times.

Murray can’t win the game, he’s not clutch enough, but he can sure lose it.

Look, the fact is Georgia and Tennessee have been battling for the second best team in the East for 10 years. Florida has been playing on a different level for years. Florida is drowning in talent. Georgia has some talent but it does not go quite as deep. Some of Florida’s 2nd and 3rd string line men would be starting for Georgia on Saturday. It shows. Florida has 2 National titles and would probably have 3 in the last ten years if Bama did not snag Saban. Florida last to two great and far superior football teams this year. No one is really sure what the deal is with Auburn. They lost to top 5 teams as well. Anyone who tells me Florida is down this year, I say compared to who? Bama, LSU? Of course. Everyone is down compared to them. I certainly don’t think Georgia is playing better ball than Florida. I don’t think Georgia is playing well. I think we have had some lousy opponents. If Georgia can beat Florida, they will have to play much better ball than we have seen from them this year.

I thought we had a really good chance as long as Brantley sat out, but now they’re saying he’s going to suit up. I don’t like our chances. Not only that, but UF’s dropped three straight, which means they’re good and p*ssed off.

As Dooley, and then Spurrier showed, it’s mostly what’s between the coach’s ears that counts. The players take their cues from the coach.

If Richt wins against an average, if not mediocre Florida team, and finishes the remainder of the season strong, he should get another year. If he loses, he should be fired even if Georgia finishes 10-3. 2-9 against Florida is unacceptable.

And truth be told, take away 3 of Tebow’s 4 years and Florida hasn’t been all that good during Richt’s time at UGA. They’ve had 4 five-loss seasons and one 4-loss season, one 3-loss season, and this year it’s hard to see them not losing 4 or 5 games even if they win Saturday. Not exactly up to their 1990s standards.

1. UGA has had more talent than Fla in Richt era. According to rivals.com, Richt was No. 2 in recruiting in the nation, and only top 5 recruiter for decade to not win the National Championship.
2. Execution isn’t the problem. It’s strategy. Get a 100 yard rusher, and you win 100% of the time under Richt against Florida. Clearly, the triple running back rotation system has resulted in 8 losses. Crowell either gets 100 yards, or UGA loses. YOU CANNOT WIN THIS GAME PASSING THE FOOTBALL!!!

UGA has some new starters that don’t have any ‘fear’ of FL…this will make a difference..the other starters will feed off of the intensity the ‘new’ guys bring…go dawgs…

All time favorite DAWG win was when Spurrier was QB and Fla. was on their way to great things. Spurrier has never forgotten

The players react to the coaching. If they see the head coach nervous they will be nervous.CMR may not think he is nervous buy he is and the team can see it.

Papdawg – You’re right, but I felt much better after going 11-1 against the Mutts during my years in Gainesville. Another thing I’ll never forget is putting up half-a-hundred between the hedges!

Schultz telling us how an athlete’s body parts and head are connected … as if he would know. That’s laughable. The liberal mindset of this worm has gives him thoughts no rational human being can have. Even on the rare occasion he stumbles on the facts and truth, you wonder how he did that. I think his other pen name if Luckovich … a barometer on misstatement of the facts on which all of us can rely. We thank the good ole AJC for that!

The Beginning of the End is a mole! A Tech fan that disguises himself as a whoever we’re playing fan. Next week he’ll be on here acting like a New Mexico State fan and the next week he’ll show up as an Auburn fan. He’s was on here as a gamecock earlier in the year preaching Lattimore 101. But we all know you’re a tech fan trying to spread some crap. Everyone please disregard his comments and don’t respond to his post.

That play where Commings tried to scoop the ball up instead of falling on it still haunts me. I also remember a potential interception going right through his hands and the recevier caught it for a TD. Since then he’s become a good player for us and I think this is his chance as well as the rest of the team for redemption. That’s the theme for this game……..redemption!
