Todd Grantham is YouTube gold — and that’s a problem

Yes, Grantham overreacted. But let’s not forget that he overreacted to something that James Franklin instigated by yelling at Shawn Williams. Franklin’s conduct was just as unprofessional as Grantham’s.

If you take into account what everyone on both sides have said, Franklin and Grantham both over reacted. If Coach Franklin did say to Shawn Williams what is being reported he said, then his is in an even worse person than Grantham. Attacking another coach is one thing, they are both adults getting paid a lot of money for what they do. Attacking another teams player after a game deserves to be addressed by a coach and the league. Franklin initiated the exchange, but Grantham is the one taking all the heat by the AJC.

Terrible Truth-

You are dead on. The choke gesture was a mistake but Grantham earned his player’s respect by covering their backs. If he is fined we need to start mailing checks to cover it.

I love Coach Richt but I really wish we could see a fraction of Grantham’s emotion in him- I swear that he looks like he would be anywhere else but on the sideline on Saturdays.

I couldn’t give a rat’s a$$ about Schultz’s opinion on this. He has a right to express his opinion, but he is wrong.

Oh gee gang an AJC sportswriter thinks CTG crossed the line……maybe he should have told his players “oh golly gee fellers, we better run from that bad man from Vandy. It would be wrong to stand up to him”. If he hadn’t have stood up for the players and just ignored Franklin and walked away the same writers would be blasting him for that too.

‘ll take a coach with a little fire over the emotionless, care-free CMR any time. I’ll take my chances on our coaches occasionally going too far – which the choke sign thing definitely was -rather than the overly stoic CMR who reacts to any situation, any adversity, any loss with all the passion of someone tying their shoe. Yes, Richt is as classy as they come – no denying that. Grantham is not. But being classy doesn’t win an emotional game like football, and I’d venture to guess that these players are more inspired to go to battle for someone they know has their back versus someone who’s idea of motivation is telling the boys to mind their manners and reminding them losing is always acceptable as long as you try hard.

In fact we would be told over and over how much passion CPJ has and what a great coach he is.

We will be told that over and over after the Tech UGA game.

UGA will win but Tech will win the coaching intangibles we will be told.

He is an embarrassement to the school. I don’t blame Franklin, as Geathers punched a Vandy player and we were lucky he wasn’t tossed. Grantham needs to grow up or move on. I’d like a fine and a suspension to show him how he’s expected to behave in the future. I can’t imagine Dr. Adams is pleased with his behavior.

Coaches who are emotional are generally loved by their players. Coaches Grantham and Muschamp are both very emotional It seems that Grantham was sticking up for one of his players which is fine to me. Coaches need to stick up for their players, and it seems that Franklin was out of line. Whoever would have thought someone at Vandy could get fired up!

I’m sick of this. Everybody has something to say when it comes to the media. Georgia wins and its not good enough. Georgia loses and its I told you so. I’m sick of it. What Coach Grantham did was not appropriate but it wasn’t the end of the world. I think it shows why Georgia has been so undisciplined in games. When the coach is that fired up and wired up, he can’t possibly teach poise to a group of young men. Its no way. I think that’s a good thing when it comes to Georgia. Mark Richt is labeled as a good, clean cut, nice guy. We need a yang to his yin. The way you guys are blowing this up makes it more of a story than a few youtube hits. Who cares anyway? People go on youtube and blow up anything. Its YOUTUBE! My concern is the way the older heads around UGA are acting. They are the ones with the problem because they want GA to be a a bully who wears a three peace suit. I’m sorry. This is not 1965. Coaches, as we saw in the Detroit/San Francisco game, have emotions. I’m sure the guys who say well Erk Russel wouldn’t do this or Dooley would have did that, don’t remember Woody Hayes. This is a new era. Big Brother is watching and unfortunately, it caught a dog acting bad. That’s what dogs do! You can’t have it both ways. We were just patting Coach Grantham on the back for bringing our defense back to respectable but as soon as we get a little bad press, all the old heads got something to say. No one is talking about how a grown man (Vanderbilts coach) went after a player at the end of the game. To be honest, that was worse than what Coach Grantham did. To talk about how he had heated words for the Vanderbilt crowd is ludicrous. It was a tense moment and I’m sure those were not hellos they threw back at him. Coach Grantham should be reprimanded for what he did. Placing him in the same category as the Devil himself is a little over the edge.

No comments about Harbaugh and Schwartz’s behaviour after Lions-49ers game? That was just Harbaugh being a complete jerk. CTG was standing up for his player, and I agree with many on here that think it is unfair (but typical) that the media has completely ignored Franklin’s culpability in this situation. If Grantham had started shouting at Franklin for no apparent reason, I’d be worried, but he was defending his player who would not (and should not) defend himself to the opposing coach. Now, move on!

Jeff, the choke sign was inexcusable, but taking up for your players is not. He still could have handled it better, and probably shouldnt have gone nuts. Still, it should not be treated in the same manner as the choke sign.

I guess you didnt see the Auburn/UF game with Muschamp going crazy. Is it any different that he was barking at the refs and not Chizik?

@MDLee5555 – exactly. That Harbaugh incident appears to be totally on him. Its clear he said something to Schwartz and then when Schwartz went after him, you saw him say “Get out of my face”. Those two have a history when Harbaugh was a player. That was just a total jerk move by Harbaugh. At the same time Schwartz should have handled it better just like Grantham, but its hard to dump on either of them.

Funny thing is, It happens all the time….. Urban Meyer doesnt shake hands, has it out with the Media. Spurrier has it out with the Media and other coaches. Saban throws a hissy fit with the Media on a regular basis. Cheezik has a problem with everyone……

Coaches have to put themselves out on a limb, they’re at the top and have to show loyalty to their program first and fore most.
I’m sure when you look back on it coaches go off the wall more than anyone. I think you have to have some craziness in your pedigree to be one.

Schultz, what is your opinion of the Vanderbilt Coach’s provocative mannerism. Are you going to hold him to a higher standard, or just Grantham? What was Grantham supposed to do, when the adult coach of the Vandy team verbally goes after a college student? Was their coach out of line?
Until you can see both sides of the story, you are out of your league as a sports writer. Which has been proven quite often. Political correctness does not work on a football field. Maybe it does in the minds of modern day sports writers.

Kiss the Ring: I agree with your assesment of Saturday night’s fiasco and the poor coaching at AU. The Gator offense looked clueless in my opinion. I am not buying into this Freshman QB crap, because there have been many new Frosh QBs who have done very well if properly coached. However, I will continue to support CWM. Hopefully, he will not be another zook -that would be hard to endure once again

You don’t have any idea what was said by Coach Franklin that may or may not have caused the reacton by Coach Grantham and you make absolutely no effort whatsoever to find out. The Nashville media make no mention of what Franklin said and the Vandy players (also the Georgia players) are not talking about it. Perhaps now that the SEC is involved it will come out. It probably won’t because they will not want what Coach Franklin said printed. You think that Mushcamp is “firery” and just the kind of coach that Georgia needs. He was on the sidelines during the game and said that our coaches continually pointed out illegal blocking schemes that the “arrogant” officials would not address. You can debate whether CTG went over the line or not, but to claim Geathers punched a Vandy player with no justification is just a bald-faced lie. Geathers was clipped from behind after the play was over and he retaliated. It’s hard to fault Geathers when the guy just tried to end his season. Even the television analysts failed to focus on why Geathers punched him. Seems that nobody wants to know the truth, they just want to further their pre-conceived notions.

Look Shultzie, there were plenty of opportunities for folks to have derailed this incident, but none did – which is usually the case when bad stuff happens, you know the age-old question and answer of, ‘What were you thinking?…and…’It seemed like a good idea at the time.’

Grantham reacted to Franklin…who reacted to Shawn Williams… who reacted to an emotional game victory where Georgia felt Vandy had been getting away with some dangerous, and likely illegal, blocks all night long…which, arguably, were a strategy intended to ‘bait’ Georgia into reacting inappropriately – which we did. So just where does the ‘guilt’ start or end?

And for you to say that ‘Kwame Geathers even punched a Vandy player while he was down’ really pi$$es me off and says a lot about you and your prejudices . He was down, the Vandy guy, as well as Geathers, because he had just clipped him – hell, even the idiot announcers said as much – and for you to ‘couch’ it as some sort of unprovoked act is bullshit. So let’s see if the SEC will ‘review’ all that, along with the refs’ response to it.

Your point that Grantham has gotten himself a reputation for flying off the handle is probably accurate…but be aware that to Georgia fans your reputation for taking sides against us is firmly set and won’t be forgotten.

One final thing, just when do you intend to take offense to Paul Johnson, as well as that wonderful new head coach at Florida that seems to have gone out of his way to burn any Georgia bridges that may have been there, for their cussin’ and berating players and officials, with cameras right on ‘em? I’m not holding my breath.

It is funny that no one has mentioned the two Georgia players being pulled apart on the sidelines during the game. The one really showing himself was #36 who the Vandy coach was upset with.
Georgia coaches really punished him by almost starting a fight with his own team……….he went right back in the game.

Meanwhile, a Clemson player beat a female track member (until she was gashed and bloody) and was arrested for it…but later released. (The police said it was handled internally)

Last year, Clemson’s safety punched his pregnant girlfriend and threw her down a flight of stairs.

They went 6-7, lost to South Florida, then proceeded to land four 5-star players from Florida.

Hmmmm…we might worry about this more than Grantham.

I have tried to give you the benefit of the doubt Jeff and have been trying to read your columns and critiques objectively and not just as a UGA fan. But the last couple of articles from you clearly show your bias against anything UGA and your desire to see the current coaching staff fail. You and the national media are trying to paint a picture of the incident as if Grantham ran out on the field totally unprovoked and starting yelling at Head Coach Franklin and the Vandy players. You know that is not accurate and yet you just keep on writing. You wonder why we are so aggressively defending Grantham? That’s the reason. I can agree that in a perfect world Grantham would have called Franklin a sore loser and ran off the field. What would you have done if that had been one of your kids that Franklin was bashing and pointing his finger at? What if a parent at one of your kids game comes up to you screaming at you about what a menace one of your kids is? You just gonna walk away or are you gonna defend your kid? Also, you wrote, “Some Dogs defensive players reportedly were upset about Vandy’s cut-blocking tactics.” You are a reporter and it’s been 2 days. Have you not had time to watch the game film and/or interview some players and coaches and find out if that indeed happened. It wouldn’t be real hard to go back and watch the fact that Geathers was indeed clipped on the play that he punched the guy on. This is not a rumor, the Vandy player was flagged for clipping!!! Geathers has to check his reaction to what the Vandy player did, however, in one second a guy who has no chance at playing in the NFL could have ended the career of a guy who will play in the NFL (barring stupid injuries). I know you are paid to give your opinion, but it would be nice for you to balance your pre-conceived opinion with some fact-finding. You could have written this same article without having done any investigating, which is apparently what you did.

Jeff, you are flat out wrong on this….to a degree. Watch the beginning of the tape and you can clearly see Franklin yelling and pointing at #36. Grantham is going over to shake his hand, and looks very calm, when he turns around to see who Franklin is yelling at. After the camera comes back from cutting away to Rambo whatever Franklin has said has obviously set Grantham off.
Unfortunately, since the camera was only pointed at Grantham we’ll never know. But it was obvious he was yelling at one of the opposing teams players and according to your laws of justice taunting a college kid on the opposing team is a crime worthy of the shackles. So explain to us how you let Franklin have a pass on this and throw the hammer down at Grantham for reacting to this type of nonsense??

I agree, HEAD Coach Franklin should be ashamed.

Yes and even though Schultz and Towers are taking heat for the camera angle this was a SportSouth production and appears the only cameras were in the traditional home stand locations. Franklin has his back to the camera for the most part and Grantham’s red-faced spewing tirade speaks volumes beyond the invectives he is throwing. This is after you have won on some fortunate bounces of the ball. If he had went over and grabbed #36 and walked away all of this would be Vandy’s to defend. Whether you think this is justified or not the appearance harms the school and the program. In the college game with polls being part beauty contest, appearances count.

You would also recall when Trooper Taylor embaressed the AU family (no not by coaching up Fairley to be an attack dog..thats what coaches are supposed to do) by jumping up and down on the field, AU PLAYERS pushed him back to the sideline, and Saint Coach Chizik reamed him but good..

@ Timmy Dog, Richt is in the upper right hand corner of the video with his trooper escort. Franklin is clearly pointing and yelling at Williams. Even several UGA players are turning to see William’s reaction. Grantham turns to see whom Franklin is pointing at and yelling towards. Then Franklin turns to Grantham and the camera turn to Rambo on the field. The next shot is Grantham redface and screaming at Franklin. Franklin should known to accept the congrats and discuss any issues with Richt.

I’ve had the same discussion with Vandy alums. Coach Richt is nowhere in the vicinty when Franklin is yelling and pointing and the 3 closest people to him (#48, Grantham, and the coach in red with a white visor) all turn around and look back at #36. So whatever Franklin was yelling must not have been “anyone seen Coach Richt??”

The other problem with this is the camera is only pointed towards Grantham. Would be interesting to see a reverse camera on Franklin and read his lips, since he will not answer any direct questions about yelling at an opposing player.

In Alabama, the team that attracts the vast majority of non Alumni fans are the Tide..with Bama, it is like UGA, the fewer teeth, the harder core fan. Think tree poisoners…

That is why we call ourselves the Auburn FAMILY..you likely either went there, married an Alumnus, or have family who went there, if you are an Auburn fan.

Franklin is the one that crossed the line. Grantham just responded to it. Maybe could have handled it better but ill bet if most of us were put in the same situation we would have done something similar including you Mr. S. I think it is good for the players to know he has their back. I would hope that all of the players feel that way. Some times you got to do what you have to do. Ill bet Franklin wont jump on another one of Georgias players anytime soon.

Schultz….you have no clue as to what it takes to coach 18-22 year old athletes….is it alright for the opposing head coach to seek out a player and verbally dress him down with obcenities? Thats what Franklin did…how come your not calling him out? Grantham was right to defend his players and team….a lesser man would have walked away.. Owners like Marc Cuban have made spectacles, as have nearly all NFL head coaches and baseball managers towards refs/umpires. Not knowing just what was said, I don’t think society needs to be huge babies about this. The coaches nearly got into a scuffle, but they didn’t. Sure, if Grantham acts that way every week there is bound to be a bad situation, but I’m not throwing him under the bus. I have been saddened by UGA’s lack of passion the several years prior, so one guy going a bit overboard is a bit enjoyable to me. So sue me too.

McGarity’s list of possible replacements is dwindling by the week. That makes 4 candidates in just 3 weeks. They are:

Dan Mullen
Derek Dooley
James Franklin
Todd Grantham

That leaves me with the only logical choice and I am now 90% it will be him sometime in January:

Chris Peterson- who is going to have a top 5 undefeated team playing in a 2nd rate bowl game. The only reason I don’t say 100% is that Boise could join the Big East and then would have a automatic bid chance every season. Then McGarity would have to offer $4,500,000 instead of the $4,000,000 that will be originally offered. I am 100% CMR is going to not take an extension and probably wants to get back in the ACC. Fun spelled backwards is “nuf”.

Take the best A She She team (you like Clemson so I’ll use them) and put them up against the best SEC team (LSU or Bama) and I believe that 28 point spread would have Clemson at the lower end.

Again the AJC bashing UGA ; Again, the AJC is UGA’s worst enemy always taking the chance to portray the program in a negative way.

IF the rumors I am hearing are right, that the Vandy coach was cursing a UGA player and being critical of the way he played, I commend CTG for standing up for his player.

My understanding is that Franklin started the ordeal; You can have a player retaliate or have a coach address the situation. I dont have a problem responding to Franklins actions.

See below from Franklin’s presser today when addressing the incident. I think it’s pretty obvious he was fine with the way things played out at the end of the game. And why not, have we ever spoken about Vandy this much after a loss?? It just pisses me off how one sided the media is on this. Grantham was calm when he approached Franklin, it wasn’t until after he turned around and saw who Franklin was pointing and yelling at that he lost his cool.

The key question in this, and one reporters like Schultz should be asking, is was Franklin yelling at an opposing player and if so what was said? Why isn’t anyone trying to get that answer out of this guy??

Franklin went on to say “There’s a fine line and we’re trying to change a culture and we’re trying to build a program here.”

“I feel like the Vanderbilt community is starting to understand things have changed,” Franklin said. “So we are going to represent Vanderbilt the right way, and we’re going to do it with class and dignity, but we’re not going to be pushed around. We’re not going to be intimidated. That’s the one thing I’ll make sure that everybody is clear on. … We are going to competitive and we are going to be aggressive with everything we do.

“If some people don’t like that, I’m sorry. Things are changing here.”

No questions some UGA fans are supporting Grantham, because Grantham’s actions epitomized the state of the UGA program….”thug.” The choke sign last year against Florida, then attempting to pick a fist fight with the Vandy coach.

Quite frankly we would expect nothing less. This program is tanked and in desperation to find some hope. Alabama, LSU and OU are class programs competing for additional national titles, while UGA has not competed for a national title in close to 30 years.

I realize everyone in Athens is not very keen on conduct and sportsmanship, but Grantham crossed the line on this one. Richt has not only lost control of his coaches, but he has also lost control of his players. I would to see one of Saban’s or Miles’ assistant coaches try one of these stunts.

To those who condone or vigorously support Coach Grantham’s hotheaded, profane, public reaction to Coach Franklin’s emotionally unhinged, deplorable behavior at the end of Saturday’s game, I ask:

1. When do two wrongs make a right?

2. When does the Golden Rule not apply?

3. When is it a mistake for a football coach, an adult leader of young men, to take the high road and refuse to engage in a confrontation on the gridiron?

4. When is it wrongheaded to control your temper?

5. When is it acceptable to embarrass your employer (in this case, UGA)?

6. In this situation, WWJD?

Schultz, you’ve really shown your true colors on this one. You state your obvious disdain for a coach yelling at an opposing player when it relates to a UGA coach yet when it happens with a Vandy coach yelling AT a UGA player you shrug it off and go after the UGA coach again for sticking up for the young man.

It’s one-sided reporting like this that gives your entire profession a bad rap. Be a man, take a side. If you’re truly as disgusted about a coach yelling at an opposing player as you seem to be when it involves a UGA coach then Man Up and find out what Franklin was yelling at Williams. Then you’d earn some respect from UGA fans. But as it stands you come off sounding like you have an agenda.

I did not realize we were 14-1 in the last 15 against Clemson until i looked it up. A 61 yr old in the stands at this years game would have been born the year they last beat Auburn.

Why don’t you do an article on what Shawn Williams parents think about what CTG did? The parents of these kids entrust their care to the coaches and staff at the University of Georgia. If you are an adult and another adult verbally assaults, challenges, what ever you term you’d like to use, a kid in your presence, what kind of person are you if you don’t stand up for, and do so vehemently, for that kid? If you are a parent and another adult did what Franklin did to your kid, what would you have done? Invite him for ice cream after the game? ANY employee of the University of Georgia who would not have done the same thing should be fired on the spot. They have a responsibility to the kids and their parents that far out weighs anything concerning how something “looks” or if it is politically correct. What kind of moron do you have to be to be concerned more about how something “looks” than another adult attacking a kid??????? Where is the article about Franklin and how he “has no regrets” and every move he makes is “carefully calculated?” Idiot.

Trisha: It’s just trophy envy. The four states with no BCS Championships: Kentucky, South Carolina, Mississippi and Georgia. Florida has four (at three different schools), Alabama has two (at two different schools), Louisiana has two (both at LSU) and Tennessee has one.

And at the end of the season, there will likely be another one in either Louisiana or Alabama.

Was very embarrassed about the choke sign he made last year and the situation got the attention and reprimand it deserved.

In this case, I’m not embarrassed at all. I’m not happy about this happening, but Grantham did not start this, FRANKLIN did. It is NOT Franklin’s place to dress down another team’s player and he was TOTALLY wrong for verbally assaulting Shawn Williams. Grantham backed up his player which is what a good coach should do. Should he have handled it differently? Yes, he could’ve kept his cool better while still defending Williams. Let’s move on, shall we?

Again, this is football people, it is a macho sport that thrives on passion, anger, fear, and intimidation. If you’re offended by this and think it’s uncalled for go watch the damn Disney channel!

Todd Grantham was not in the best of moods anyway. The offense and special teams of Saint Mark Wretch was surrendering points galore to a Vandy team known for its offensive ineptitude. The Dawg defense was mediocre at best. Seeing the punter, who was too close to the line of scrimmage, without two protectors in place and as slow as aged Rip Van Winkle, have the kick blocked with 15 seconds to play in a five point game did not sweeten his disposition. Mine either! A baldheaded Vandy head coach lashing at one of his guys at the end just added the final match to the flame. Glad someone woke Saint Mark Wretch up long enough for him to make token appearance. Such a gutless loser with no fire or emotion. At least DC has both!

Considering some of the opinions you offer in the articles you write, I would say then that he must have just stepped on your foot, if he did cross over.
Seems to me, you should be preaching to the coach at Vandy, and not Grantham. He did not let his players get harassed by the Vandy coach without letting him know about it. Maybe, if we had a little fire in our bellies and had shown it the last couple of years, it wouldn’t be such a big deal. If emotion is a bad thing, somebody better slow the Florida coach down or he is going to have a heart attack, before he reaches 50. I would bet his continuous complaints to the refs. during the game, aren’t along the lines of, ” say ref. can you explain to me, how that was called?”

Jeff–you are right..Grantham has a weakness that he needs to work on…But to be fair—don’t we all have weaknesses….So let’s take this as a teaching moment

It is a shame he is in the spotlight and he has to be smarter than Coach Franklin..
He made a mistake to let Coach Franklin’s mistake become his mistake…Clearly Franklin was hot and he was hot before Coach Grantham. So let’s not forget Coach Franklin’s behavior.

Anger mgt, temper mgt is something that we all have problems with if the right button is pushed. We just have to be smarter and know when to turn and walk away and let our talking be through our playing on the field….It is good to be passionate—I like people that care and want all of us to be the best that we can be and reach our potential in life. Some of us have to work every day on anger mgt…It is harder for some of us than others….We have to pray, read things, talk with folks daily, listen to folks smarter than us, find out how others handle anger and learn. Coach Grantham is a good guy and he knows football. I am in his corner. I hope that he will read, pray, study, talk to other and learn how to control emotions and respond rather than react…..But never, never forget he is not a bad person….I am glad that he is at UGA.

SABAN will not tolerate it. As a one poster stated when McCarron got to emotional SABAN got on him and told him to calm down. Cortney Upshaw did not start against OLE MISS due to he got a little mad at a VANDY player and stepped on him I believe.

Will CMR do the same with WILLIAMS and GEATHERS.

Probably not. From CROWELL TRASH TALKING to the others mouthing off it has become a very undisciplined team.

WOW – Jeff, let’s get some fair and balanced reporting. I only wish the sidelines were opposite at Vandy. Then you would have the camera face front shot of the VANDY HEAD COACH, pointing and shouting at a UGA PLAYER-STUDENT ATHLETE!!! Only see the back of CTG head as it bobbles and he points at Vandy HC.

Perception and perspective are a result of the camera angle, it should not get the Vandy HEAD COACH, off the hook for going after a student athlete?!?! CTG, and adult, confronted another adult HC of a university to protect his player, who was getting attacked….

What if the Vandy HC is going after your son Jeff, you going to let it happen? or step in?

As far as setting example, I just can’t get over the fact the Vandy HC went after a student athlete, and has no remorse, and no apology fro his behavior; read his comments, what an errogant S@B. Repremant CTG for protecting his player OK, but the SEC needs to put the hammer down on VHC for going after a student athlete.

If only the camera angle was reverse, this whole story is about VHC, JAMES FRANKLIN, and not CTG and UGA . Please consider all the facts before writing such poor columns, really lost a lot of respect today….

I for one am glad to see a little emotion on the Dawgs sideline. Kids need good role models, yes, but they also need to know their coaches believe in them and have their back. Football is an emotional sport… teams win and lose on it. Folks that can’t deal with the emotion of the game – especially where there is a simple immediate post-game exchange of words, need to move on to bowling or something.

No, Jeff, you just couldn’t the resist the lazy opportunity to write on the same topic again. You didn’t even write it from a different angle. Plus, I don’t think “YouTube Sensation” means what you think it means in that sentence; the only people talking about CTG on YouTube is the ridiculous media trying to blow this whole story out of proportion 2 days later. Get off your high horse.

I think it’s hilarious when people sit back and try to apply gentlemanly principles to this game. If you want that, go watch polo. Skirmishes like this may not be the hallmark of professionalism, but who cares? Sometimes immaturity is the price of genius, and it’s not like the game of football captures the evolved nature of human kind. It is based on physically hurting and outmatching the other team. This isn’t a REAL chess match: only a figurative one.

Nobody wanted CTG because of his low key discretion. No, they wanted CTG because he’s a fine defensive ball coach and has a fiery personality. Well, we’re getting double doses of both this season. Here’s the point: I would rather win with CTG engaging in “tasteless” behavior than losing while acting like a gentleman. Maybe CTG giving the “choke” sign was in poor taste, but at least he was still doing all he could do to win the game. Same here: maybe he wasn’t acting evolved, but at least he was calling out Franklin on his foolishness and showing our players that he’s got their backs. Get over it, people.

And please write about something else. . . .. lazy columnists . . …
