Isaiah Crowell rushed for 147 yards but felt Georgia should've scored more touchdowns.
OXFORD, Miss. – Since the first two games of the season adjusted everybody’s expectations, let’s start with this: Georgia won a game on Saturday. Over an SEC opponent. On the road. These things aren’t taken for granted any more, not after a 2-6 stretch in the conference on non-hedged fields.
So in that sense, the Bulldogs’ 27-13 win over Mississippi was a step forward. It just wasn’t quite the sledgehammer maybe some had hoped for.
This was Ole Miss, one of the worst teams in the nation. It lost to Vanderbilt 30-7 last week. One group among the program’s normally relatively staid fan base, whose greatest focus generally is on picnicking in The Grove, even was moved to purchase full-page advertisements in five area newspapers. In so many words, they asked the school’s administration to strap coach Houston Nutt to a catapult and fire him into the gulf. Even angry Georgia fans haven’t gone that far when it comes to Mark Richt.
So the bar should’ve been set high Saturday for the Bulldogs. In many ways, they dominated an inferior opponent. They killed in real estate. The final yardage totals: 475 to 183. First downs: 25-8.
If this was Monopoly, the Dogs had hotels from Pacific Avenue thru Boardwalk, while Mississippi was mortgaging Baltic.
But the fact that Georgia struggled to score touchdowns and put this game away reaffirmed some of the team’s flaws. The Dogs scored three touchdowns (in the first six possessions). Then they fizzled. By game’s end, they had attempted five field goals (Blair Walsh missing three).
Richt accurately summarized, “When we get a defense tired, we need to stick a fork in them, and we weren’t able to do that.”
A road SEC win is better than losses to Boise State and South Carolina and a win over some pipsqueak from Myrtle Beach. But to beat Mississippi State, Florida, Auburn – maybe even Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Kentucky – Georgia will need to be better. Because every other conference opponent is better equipped than the Rebels to make you pay for a mistake.
Some of what happened could be attributed to the usual: dropped passes, missed blocks, etc. But some of it is on Richt. He didn’t send a great message to his players at the start of the fourth quarter. On fourth-and-1 from the Rebels’ 30, he sent in the field-goal team. The Dogs led 24-13. It seemed like the perfect time to try to pound the opponent for a yard and pass up a 48-yard attempt (hardly a sure thing). Richt played it conservative. Walsh missed.
Question: When a team starts the season 0-2 and the only win thus far has come over Coastal Carolina, shouldn’t there be a more aggressive approach?
Players tried to convince Richt to go for the first down. He later explained, “What I told them was if you want to get a first down, do it in the first three downs.”
Oddly, on the Dogs’ next possession, Richt took a huge gamble when he decided to go for it on fourth-and-1 from the Dogs’ 44. Richard Samuel “made it by a thumbnail,” Richt said. (He later second-guessed himself, saying he should’ve punted.)
Georgia never was in danger of losing this game. It just never had the look of a wrecking ball, which is what you would’ve hoped for. Ole Miss had two touchdowns called back by penalties. Richt conceded, “It was a two-score [lead], and all it would’ve taken was one big play for them and it could’ve gotten really nasty and ugly, but the defense never allowed them to do that.”
There were positive signs. The defense was solid, allowing only one touchdown. Isaiah Crowell is turning into a game-changer. He rushed for 147 yards on 30 carries, including a 29-yard gain on third-and-9 from the Georgia 2 that launched a 99-yard touchdown drive in the second quarter that Richt called “the biggest play of the game.”
But even Crowell, after the biggest day of his young career, found himself talking about flaws.
“I’m happy with how the team played, but I thought we could’ve played better in the second half,” he said. “We should’ve scored [more] points.”

But, when is Georgia going to play a complete game in all three phases? Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. The “D” looked much better, but once again we got outcoached on special teams. Why is it I can sit in my living room watching the game and after the Ole Miss touchdown say, “Watch out for the onsides kick”, but we aren’t looking for it? It is such a popular trend in today’s game to try an onside kick after you score to try to gain all the momentum. (Just like we did against South Carolina). I was amazed we weren’t ready for it. Having to try 5 field goals and not being able to score TD’s doesn’t bode well. Geting burned on the reverse on the punt return and the trick play seems to show that we still lack some discipline on maintaning assignments. Just the same, I love the DAWGS and hope we continue to improve game to game.

Just curious … why are you blaming Crowell? He had 150 yards at 5 per carry. He has 400 yards in the first 4 games in his college career playing for a pass-oriented coach behind a makeshift offensive line. He and Murray are the 2 best things about this offense so far. Just hope that Richt and staff don’t ruin him the way that they did Caleb King, Washaun Ealy and Richard Samuel, 3 guys who really should have gone elsewhere (like Georgia Tech).

“But, when is Georgia going to play a complete game in all three phases?”
You Bulldogs have been asking that question for the better part of 10 years, and especially since 2005. The answer to that question is the same as it has always been: when you get a new head coach. And if you keep playing the way that you did today (which isn’t good enough to beat Florida, Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Georgia Tech or perhaps even Vanderbilt) that will be next year.

I’m glad we got the win, but it seemed to me Richt was playing not to lose rather than playing to win. This is a highly talented team that scares absolutely nobody, and that isn’t what Georgia football is supposed to be.

This was a PITIFUL performance against a PITIFUL team! Look at Alabama….they keep rolling despite losing tons of talent to the NFL. And we can’t do JACK, despite another record recruiting class! Absolutely unaccaptable for a coaching staff paid MILLIONS! I am a UGA grad and a UGA fan, and to all the morons who reply to this with…”support the team…give them a chance…a great win…”…go back to your Bud Light and shut the heck up! It’s about time for the University of Georgia to win another National Championship–or heck..NOT lose to a Central Florida! With THIS talent, we should compete every single year, and sadly, wins over High School caliber teams encourage celebration! How far we have fallen!

BoBo is a terrible offensive coordinator. This team has top ten talent on the offensive side of the ball but their game is so predictable! HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU RUN ON THIRD AND LONG? Expecially when the passing game is going well and you have a talent like murray and excellent receivers! BoBo calls a predictable, boring game which will work with third world teams but it won’t win against the SEC’s best. DUMP BOBO…or in the meantime have Richt calling the plays!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Walsh cort the Dawgs 9 points. The special teams cost the Dawgs 13 points. I saw UGA guys all around the runner with the ball and not even attempt to make a tackle. They just let the runner pass by. Otherwise the offense and defense played well. Walsh is a liability not a strength.

I swear, to be so called fans, yall are never satisfied. After a 0-2 start, we are now were even at 2-2 while were progressing every week, not to mention still in the SEC East race. If ur not going to support them after a victory, STOP WATCHING! If u so called fans can coach, nevertheless play any better, get out there and do it. For anyone who is a true Bulldog fan, where was the state of the UGA football program before Coach Richt became coach? It was pretty much none existing. He is by far the best thing that has happened to this program and brought them to national prominence but all yall wanna do is complain about how we scored 27 points instead of 28. They won, get over it.
Good job to the entire program today. We still have room for improvement so hit the practice field and lets get better. I’m rooting for u and behind u 100% win or lose.

Posting the degree requirments as an example of what
When 90% of the football team is in the Business program at Tech there is a reason for that. You have a department that is willing to do what it takes to keep players eligible
Thats why 90% of your football team is taking business classes
Again FSU used to put all their players in the Criminology Department to stay eligible
Posting the requirements is cute but who cares.
The Criminology Degree has requirements too.

It’s been a long time since I fell asleep during a ball game, and this was the Bulldogs. First half saw us lead but I saw the same old team, same old play calling, same old coaching problems. And AM isn’t the great saviour and neither is NO EYEBALLS Crowell. If you would just sit and watch a team like Alabama you would see a blinding difference. These Alabama players have been coached to WIN and you see the o-Line blocking, running backs that are always aware of the ball, receivers that will catch a ball and then look like someone shot them out of a rocket. You see none on this from Georgia PERIOD! I told my father-in-law ten years ago that “we wouldn’t even contend for a National Title much less win one as long as Richt was our coach, that we would more likely be an embarrassment (so true). They still relish in the great black out (errr..I mean Black Eye) from Alabama. Number one in the preseason polls and they come in and stick our faces in a pile of ^@#%^@#%^%. If I am right and I hope like hell I am not, get ready for one long slow ice pick in your eyeballs ride. For as long as Richt is there, which if the Georgia AD and President have they’re way, will be forever, we will forever be the Pee Wee’s of the SEC! My entire family has bolted to Alabama over the last five years, and I’m hanging on by a thread for the dawgs, but even thread will eventually break.

My problem with Richt and Company has less to do with wins and losses and more to do with the coaching staff’s inability to read the ebbs and flows of a game. Don’t go for it on 4th and 1 at the Ole Miss 30…go for it on 4th and 1 from your own 44…continue to run 3rd and long draw plays over and over again….stop running the ball early in the game when you’re dominating….Crowell is not on the field when he should be and is getting beat to hell when there is less than 3 minutes to go in the game and our OL is blocking no one.
The offensive play calling still lacks any imagination or surprise to give others something to think about. Our defense played well at times, but was asleep at others. Our special teams are getting it handed to them by not being disciplined enough.
Richt and coaches have further learned nothing about their players. I cannot watch Branden Smith “attempt” to receive another punt. He has been ridiculously indecisive since his arrival in Athens. He is a great athlete, but he has NO BUSINESS FIELDING PUNTS ANYMORE!
Georgia again has the talent to be very good, but the message, the lessons, and the development is sorely lacking so far.

2 things i took away from the game, 1)Bobo has ZERO confidence in his QB! I fully understand he wants some points when we get down to the 30 yd line, but time after time he continues to run that “shotgun and turn and simply hand the ball to the RB” play, he’s plainly showing me he has NO confidence in Murray to make the right decision on a 8-10 yd pass. and 2) Murray obviously has trouble completing the screen pass due to him being 5-10. He simply can’t get the ball over the line without air-mailing the ball over the RB’s head..
other than that, we kicked their arse up and down the field today, and truthfully, that’s 3 weeks in a row!

There will assuredly be several Head Coaches who get their walking papers by the end of this season. Ole Miss, UCLA, and certain in state team all come to mind. Don’t you think it’s better to go ahead and start now so as to strike first in finding a replacement rather than just prolonging the inevitable and waiting until we are competing with other schools for top talent? That @750 Choke is a dipstick…as well as most of ya’ll complaining about the win, a win is a win & is not a L in the record book. Yes there are quite a few things that need to improve in order for us to be a better team and yes Ole Miss is not very good, but the DAWGS won & showing improvement in alot of areas. We have some talent, not as much as some of the better teams in the country but some young talent that is improving weekly. So lets take this win, see the good things we did and fix the parts that need to get fixed before the ugly bulldawgs come to Athens.
Show up early Saturday, make some freaking noise like these other college fans & stadiums do. Not like the quite nonintimidating stadium we have become…we made more noise before the place was closed in, and that is pitiful. Richt is playing not to lose. Too many off-tackle runs on third and long to set up the punt. Too many times he lets the clock run out at half-time instead of going for a score. He will need to get more aggressive if he wants to survive the next 6 weeks.

I wonder how many of you whiny psudeo-fans ever played a team sport. It isn’t an easy thing to enter a season with a totally unproven backfield and receiving group, a patched-up O-Line and esentially no depth at linebacker, then play two top-20 teams, lose both starting inside linebackers and a couple of linemen, and emerge undefeated, which seems to be all that some of you think is acceptable. UGA won today, on a day when they lost an onsides kick, gave up a punt return TD, and missed 3 FG’s. Way to Go Dawgs!

UGA is so middle of the pack, it is depressing. Defense is much improved, but the offense and special teams is an embarrassment. We have the playmakers to score 50-60 points a game, but the play calling and execution is terrible. When are we going to put our athletes in space to make plays. We sent Crowell into the middle most of the day. I do not get it!!! Murray is a gamer , BUT he is not getting it done. Demote Bobo now, find another play caller and give Mason a chance.
BTW, I keep hearing that CMR’s retirement at the end of the year has been a done deal for awhile.

Richt’s quotes after game about Walsh missed field goals :
Coach Mark Richt was glad to see Walsh make his last kick, but insisted he hasn’t lost confidence in the senior.
“I’m glad he was able to kick it, but if we didn’t have another attempt, he’s still our guy,” Richt said. “He doesn’t have to worry about how I feel about him.”
What kind of crapola is that ? Your kicker can’t miss 3 field goals PERIOD. Be a man and call Walsh out !

Seems like tonight it’s just gonna be an old fashioned saloon fight between the trolls and those that get baited by ‘em. How about a change of subject? All 9 Big 12 teams (except aTm) pledged their Tier 1 and Tier 2 TV rights to the Big 12 for the next 6 years — meaning if they bolt, they leave the $ behind. Talk about handcuffs. Mizzou was among these, so don’t expect to see them coming to the SEC.
And since FSU & Clemson signed up for a $20m exit fee from the ACC, we appear to be headed toward a 13 team conference for awhile. Whatdaya think? Will Auburn move to the East and we have a 6-7 division split (W-E) or do they stay put and it becomes 7-6 (W-E)? Who could be a easy to join 14th to come in? Louisville? Eastern Carolina? Promote Ga Southern? (a stretch, I know)

I’m glad you beat UF back in the 1940’s…means nothing though over the last 20 years. Do you think that 5 star recruit that is in Valdosta is going to care about what your poodles did in the 1940’s, or about the fact Florida has dominated you since the day that kid was born? You’re a joke. Your program is a joke.

@grasseater — At the height of the realignment frenzy, I would’ve thought it would be WVU or Mizzou, but since the SEC already rejected WVU inquiries, I’m thinking that ship has sailed. Lot of crow would have to be eaten – by the conference and WVU both – to join now. Problem is we’re running out of geographic options. Unless we poach-n-pay, or hop over a state (stepping out of the South, forget Southeast) it seems that promoting a lower division team may be our only choice – or just make do unbalanced at lucky 13.

I am a graduate of UGA Class of ‘86. How in the world do you expect to compete in the SEC by kicking and missing field goals. That will not work against Fla, Aub, Ala, LSU, or TN. And not even against Miss St, Kent, Vandy, Ark, or SC. We suck simple as that. If Nick Saban coached our players we could compete for a national championship like he does every year. If Richt and his staff coached Alabama they are 5-6 at best. Can I add Central Florida to the can’t beat them with a field goals list? We have the atheletes, just no coaching. I respect and think the world of Mark Richt as a fine man but it is time for him to go. We have missed so many opportunities. Tired of the same old excuses. We need a coach!

The way GA’s offense runs reminds me of an 8 cylinder car that runs on 6 cyl’s. It just misses and doesn’t run very smooth always sputtering between clicking on all 8. Just never runs on all 8 all the time.
IC did well but he was tired from 3rd qtr on. Maybe his ribs were bothering him. He’s going to be a good back but not the caliber of Lattimore. Murray had his shining moments but still continues to sputter. Richt goofed at end of half. He had one time out left w/29 sec’s to play but chickened out and let clock run out. Guess he felt same way when not going for it on 4th down and Walsh missed his 3rd FG. What is wrong w/him !!???
This win is a forecast of things to come when they play MSU and the remaining SEC schedule. They’ll win over KY and vandy but the remaining sec teams including tech will be losses if they play like they played today.

LOL didn’t know this..
Released in 1986, 5150 (pronounced “fifty-one-fifty”) is the seventh studio album by American hard rock band Van Halen. The album was the first to be recorded with new lead singer Sammy Hagar who replaced David Lee Roth.
It was named after Eddie Van Halen’s home studio, 5150, which is a California police term for a mentally disturbed person (a reference to Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code). The 5150 name has been used several times by Van Halen. It is the name of Eddie Van Halen’s private studio, the name of a custom Frankenstein-striped Kramer Pacer Special electric guitar used by Eddie Van Halen throughout the 80s, and the model name of a signature guitar amplifier endorsed by Eddie for his own EVH brand. The album hit number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, surpassing the band’s previous album, 1984, which had peaked at number 2 as Michael Jackson’s Thriller album, on which Eddie made a guest appearance, dominated the charts

I know I know look at his numbers yada yada yada…………………..don’t get me wrong I hope he wins every game for UGA from here on out but i just don’t think he gets it done when it’s on the line…..we shall see…hope he proves me wrong!”
I hope he proves you wrong too, Texas Dawg, sir. If he does, it will be the 1st time in his career. 11 carries for minus – 17 yards today, is in keeping with his career average of 1 yards per carry. “He is a college QB,” they say in reply to his inability to be a dual-threat QB – exactly. And, he runs up his stats vs 8 cupcakes in his entire career here – such as ball-hogging the TD run and ball-hogging the TD pass – the only 2 times we got to the 3-yard line of Ole Miss, seizing his opportunity to run up his stats vs cupcakes. 11 carries. 1 yard a carry career avg. Today minus 1.7. He threw himself to the ground all game long. 11 times he threw his little body to the ground. Actually more than that. He hasn’t beat an SEC opponent with a winning record ? He has not beat any team with a winning record, and will have been on this campus since practicing with the team for the bowl game 2008. In a little over a month, he will have been on this campus for 3 years. He has played 10 teams with a losing record for the season and beat 8 of them. He has played 7 teams with a winning record for the season, and lost all 7. He had 8 interceptions last season and 9 fumbles. This season he has 3 interceptions and 4 fumbles in 4 games, 2 vs cupcakes, again this season. He averaged 1.9 yards a carry last year and minus – 1.2 yards per carry this season. We have 9 fumbles on the season this year, and he is the main culprit with 4. We had 20 fumbles last year and he was the main culprit with 9. His interceptions and fumbles have come at key moments that cost us the losses, both years. Did you see anyone else get in the game for 1 play at QB today vs a patsy football team who lost last week to Vandie 30-7 ? That was a sorry job today by Aaron Murray. Sorry. 5 field goals he settles for against a team who lost to Vandy just last week, 30-7.

After watching 10 SEC teams play today on television this is what we now know after 4 weeks of play.
UGA is right in line with the following teams( Tennessee, MSU, Auburn, Vandy). They all have good aspects of their game, but are not very good in others.
UGA has some players who need to learn to keep their mouths shut, especially after making a big play( ie IC, Rambo) at some point it is going to cost you a penalty.
The kicking game at UGA is solid at punter, but the field goal automatic machine needs some tweaking.
LSU, Alabama, USC, Florida as of today are head and shoulders better than everyone else when it comes to personnel and coaching.
Vandy is goint to win some SEC games that matter this year and have the opportunity to become the Stanford of the SEC with the right coaches and recruiters and Franklin is making the program better.
Kentucky is just awful on offense and their defense is not very deep.
Arkansas is not as good as THEY thought, but will still win 9 games.
Auburn is just awful and any team that can run the ball will beat them.

Unfortunately I see the Gators win yet another one, but I don’t see it being a blow out. Hope the Dawgs can prove me wrong. Serious room for improvement. We played a bad team and still, Murray had little time to throw and got sacked a few times. Richt makes dumb call not to go for 1st down on Miss 30, then turns around and makes even dumber call to go for first down on Ga 30. This should have even a blowout and wasn’t. Vandy beat this team worse. Ga can’t win 9 games. I’ll be surprised if we win 7.

I’m not upset about this week or last, but need to make one quick comment.
The Richt apologists on the radio and these AJC boards like to say, “Hey, you forgot what this program was like before CMR got here”. Yeh, I remember; it was about exactly like it is now – - – 7-9 win seasons and mediocre bowls. Does anyone really think we’d be any worse off right now if Jim Donnan was still the coach (although his financial statement would probably look a little better). The reality is that the UGA program as been very much like the stock market over the last 10 years — a few bull market years, but the end result is flat with no positive return.

Based on what I saw today, I am not sure any team in the country could beat either Bama or LSU. There game will be the national title game this year. LSU is the better of the two, I think. Florida has an excellent defense and a very strong running game. But John Brantley is still not very good, and that will be the difference next weekend. Bama wins a close one in THE SWAMP….probably because of several Brantley turnovers. I think LSU will easily win the game down there. They are loaded, big time. The Gators will still battle SC and Georgia for the East title, however. The head to head meetings with Georgia and SC will be big for the Gators.

I agree that the Gators are a better team than WVU. I predict a 30-14 LSU win but I could be wrong. Heck I predicted a Dawg win against BSU and you see how that turned out so you never know. If the Gators can pull it out against Bama and escape with only 1 SEC loss to LSU then they are easily in the SECCG. I predict that USCe will lose at least 2 SEC games (UF and possibly TN or Auburn). They have gotten lucky in a couple of their games this season…their luck will run out soon. The Dawgs will likely lose 2 more SEC games (TN or Miss St. and UF). I hope that I am wrong about the Dawgs but there is a lot of improvement to be made before we can contend again.

Richt still looks lost. His mind is somewhere else. Where? Whi knows. The team made the same oft-repeated mistakes on special teams and at times looked asleep. The effort was certainly there, but there are serious problems. Mike Bobo kept up his usual inconsistency by IGNORING the other team’s defensive tendencies and calling the plays he wants to call (what an idiot) without going with what the defense was giving to him, namely inability to stop the run (except when Richard Samuel was running the ball). Where the heck is the other running back Ken Malcome? Guess he must be suspended or injured. Typical after we’d been hearing how great he is going to be this season.
Richt is toast anyway. Mississippi State will win or nearly win next week. If Crowell gets hurt, the season is over and so is Richt’s career. it may be over anyway because Tennessee will pass for 400+ and win easily, and Florida will win by 3 TDs. Auburn or Tech will also win, so that makes 7-5, 8-4 at best. Not enough to keep this sleepwalking coach.

The Dawgs will not play another ranked team this season unless Tech is still ranked when we meet in Nov. The Gators will fall out of the top 25 following their impending losses to Bama and LSU. What will be the measuring stick for the season if that happens? We will still be known as the team that can’t beat ranked opponents and have that looming into next season. I am a lifelong Dawg fan but I am ready for things to get turned around. Far too much talent in and out of Athens for the Dawgs not to contend on a regular basis. At any rate, I support this team and hope that they can get some momentum going. GO DAWGS!

Go Dawgs! First game on the road and in the SEC and we got the W Schultz. Thats what matters. First road game and these young guys got a W. Sure we should have scored 40 and if we were at home, we would have, BUT it was the FIRST ROAD game of the year.
By the way, you mentioned Miss St. and what they will do to UGA…interesting they squeaked by LA Tech at the end today and were in Starkville. They scored how many? 26 at home against LA Tech. Im sure there media is saying they are going to have to do better against UGA on the raod and they would be right. Teams arent perfect, most all can do better. But before we start being critical or negative, shouldnt we be focused on the W then predicting doom and gloom for the future after what this team has been through and endured? Cant you wait till Monday before you start looking at the positives instead of the negatives? At least not the focal point being the negatives. I swear its all about hits on the website and on your webpage huh? I guess we will have to put together a protest of some sorts to get some fair and balanced at the AJC.
How you doing on your picks? You hanging? I think we were tied going into this weekend Schultzie. I know I missed the FL St. game. Didnt know their starting qb was out until 3:27 and couldnt change my pick in time because I sure would have with them being on the road. Miami lost but I dont remember if that was one of the games. You idiots that keep posting about the great improvement etc. etc. etc. are losers pure and simple. Maybe there has been some improvement since the first game but every team improves during the course of a season. The Georgia Bulldogs under coach Mark Richt are underachievers – big time. A team with this much talent would be undefeated and ranked in the top 10 with a dynamic head coach in charge. I was once a Richt supporter, now I’m not. UGA will continue to underachieve and epitomize the word “mediocre” as long as CMR is the team’s coach!

Excuse me ?
Wait until we lose before we can comment on the facts of what we have just witnessed, again ?
Are you out of your ever-loving mind ?
This was Ole Miss, just last week a 30-7 Loser to Vandie.
We settled for Five (5) Field goals, instead.
We ran 3rd and long plays all night long that we sprint draw plays, again.
Our QB wanted to call his own number to run up his stats, once we were on the goal line.
He threw another interception, and had another fumble.
Our players ran around taunting Ole Miss all day long, and did not get called for it.
Isaiah Crowell, especially.
Our OL allowed our QB to belly-flop whenever someone got near him.
Our Field Goal Kicker missed a field goal that would have tied South Carolina.
Our Field Goal Kicker, today, missed 3 more field goals in 1 game.
We played the dead last worst team in college football.
Their QB, at least, was not better than Our QB – that count still stands at 9 who have been better than our QB that day, head-to-head, on the field of play.
Our WR, except Malcolm Mitchell – who is buried on the Depth Chart – cannot run routes or make catches.
Our FB all season long has been non-existent.
We remain with a host of players whom we either are lied about to, or who are on Suspension.
Our play-calling was exactly what it always has been.
Our QB was sacked more than their QB, again.
And, we cannot complain ?
Who died and put you in-charge ?

Georgia’s problem is coaching. They do not get these guys in shape. And sending in the field goal unit is so stupid—-I think I can make better judgements. When you are ahead, you take the necessary steps to stay ahead and crush the other team. And, I am glad UGA has a multitude of white players as well. Glad to know they are making sure MLK is proud of them. Oh and Abraham Lincoln as well. Yiipppeeeeeeee. We know these coaches at UGA are top tier people. They just beat the worst team in the SEC. I did enjoy watching Alabama hit and pursue the enemy yesterday. It is good to know real football lives in the minds of some coaches. I was raised loving UGA but I will tell ya———–it is really getting tired man. What a bunch of mixed up people—-do we kick? Do we pass? Do we pass? Well we might run it some. Then we pass it. We are winning by 5 touchdowns and its 4th and 2——-what do we do?============Punt it of course.

Our talented players deserve better. The UGA administration is letting them down keeping Richt and his staff. They are totally incompetent and a national butt of jokes.
UGA is going to get demolished by some of the better teams we play, starting with Mississippi State next Saturday, then progressing through Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn. Heck, we may even lose to Vandy this year.
Richt always has a million excuses, and will blame anyone else. I’ve never heard him step up and take personal responsibility for the state of Georgia football.

First I must say I want the Dawgs to win and be as successful as possible. Herein lies the problem. So to all of you who KEEP supporting Richt and Co., here some perspective…
Yes, UGA beat Ol Miss. 27 – 13. To all those “a win is a win” folks, go party and feel good about everything (the term naive comes to mind). For everyone else who probably cares about the team/program MORE than a particular coach or individual, UGA SCORED FEWER points and ALLOWED MORE points than Vandy did against Ol Miss.
UGA may look good statistically against average or worse teams, but we’re gonna get our teeth kicked in about 4 more times this year.
Oh and in case anyone cares… the O line is the problem. But, if he’s still here, I’m sure Richt will go and sign a great recruiting class! He will cash in all his chips on flashy players like WR, RB, QB, CB, LB and undersign in the trenches. The class will look good on paper, but the team will still have a void where it all starts.

If you hear what other former players say whose names are well known – David Green, Buck Belue, Eric Zier – you would see that they are thinking the same thing. They are just afraid to say it publicly because of their affiliation(s) or role on talk radio. When asked pointed questions they sound like politicians by hem-hawing and never really answer what was asked.

UGA will either have to man up and get physical starting this week or they will get smacked in the mouth by three teams in a row who are looking to get that big conference win to make their season. Special Teams play for us is a weekly embarrasment. We will lose games against the better teams we will face just on bad ST play alone. Murray is troubling to me though with his erratic passing. Everybody constantly telling me how great a QB he is. Yes, I know he can scramble , he knows the playbook really well, etc, etc. His passing is just not great. Here’s an example: In the red zone, no pressure from Def, Orsen Charles wide open in back of end zone, and the pass was thrown way too high. Now Charles is 6′4″ and had to make a tremendous catch ( ala A.J.) . This was a TD for Murray, but a receiver once again saved his butt. He continually was throwing behind receivers last week vs. CC. I’m sorry folks, I like the kid, but he needs to improve fast. And he still hangs on to the ball too long…

****************************************************
Um, Coac Richt, our offense doesn’t get a vote on whether to go for it on 4th and 2. If you think a defense is tired, why not go for it, instead of trotting in a kicker who obviously has lost his confidence?
It’s your almost-neurotic obesssion to send in the FG, that, whether the kicker makes or misses, gives defenses a boost and changes momentum.
Ole Miss was just too bad to keep the momentum.

Were you even watching the same game as the rest of us as Aaron Murray, best known for his Tweet pre-game to Boise State “I’m headin’ down to the ‘Dome to kick some a**” in this game vs the worst football team in America, threw an interception, fumbled twice, and settled for 5 field goals while his running back was not allowed to score – the running back who did so well in this game because TWICE when Isaiah Crowell was the reason we were inside their 1-yard line at the goal line, Aaron Murray – aka Ball Hog – first ran the 1st TD in himself and second threw a TD Pass to Orson Charles, both of which are TOTALLY Isaiah Crowell’s Touchdowns to run in himself.

I love my Dawgs!!!! But this team is awful. Now I’m no football coach, but they just look weak and unorganized and just overall not coached well. The physicality of the Dawgs over the last few years, in particular last year and this, is what I think I hate the most. LSU or Alabama or the Gators would have beat the Georgia team I saw yesterday by 30 or 40 points. We are just not a very tough team. The other thing I hate is how we are always outcoached, outgameplanned, or whatever you wanna call it. They just look overall horribly coached and I am fed up with it.

As a guy who has long supported Richt, the criticisms against him are not just “low life” bloggers like the low life tech cop suggested. “This is a highly talented team and if they had a good HC would be undefeated. As long as CMR and his pathetic OC continue to roam the sidelines, UGA will continue to look bad on the field. We are behind the team, just not the coaching staff.”
LagDawg, I don’t care about the RECRUITING CLASS. We have had eleven (11) recruiting classes, all 11 averaging # 7 in the nation, averaging both Rivals and Scout for all 11 years. It is the coaching staff, which Mark Richt in his next gig will hire, not praying buddies, but the best coaches he can find who actually played the position they are coaching, and who held those positions somewhere else, because he has NO CLUE how to develop such coaches himself. It is quite obvious that Mark Richt has implemented a policy to HIDE all the crudola in the background and to not release or out and out LIE about the crudola. How could little Aaron Murray vs the worst team in America, last week beat by 30-7 by Vandie mind you, himself throw an interception, have Two (2) fumbles, settle for Five (5) Field Goals and manage to NOT ALLOW ANY BACK-UP QB in the game ? He PURPOSELY does this. DISNEYdawgs.com ? They state this performance is “SHARP” “AARON MURRAY WAS SHARP.” Our problem is that because of DISNEYdawgs.com like this, this is the cushiest coaching job in America. Mark Richt get $ 3.5 MILLION three point five million annual compensation, and DISNEYdawgs.com with 2002 one other SEC team ranked in the Coaches’ Poll Top 25 and 2005 when we lost 3 games and ended up # 3 of The SEC teams in the AP Poll, think Mark Richt is great. MsState is one dimensional, can’t throw the ball…Dawgs should win by 2 TD.
RT Anderson is terrible…several missed blocks, this is why Murray only has his 1st option available, time to get W. Danzler some PT.
The coaches should do Samuel a big favor and move him back to LB…..he cannot make anyone miss….straight ahead speed but he is no RB.
Special Teams will cost this team at least 2-3 more losses against better competition. You must put your best athletes on the field at all times, this is big boy football!

Pollyanna, you’re an idiot, and a hater. Realize I won’t change your opinion about Murray because you have it out for him and won’t be satisfied till he’s benched, but your assessment that he had a bad game couldn’t be more off. He fumbled twice? There was a bad exchange between he and Jones which Jones recovered. His interception came on a pass that he hit Orson right in the chest and it bounced up and into the hands of a Miss defender…clearly not his fault. Ball hog? This is where you really show that you don’t know what you’re talking about. QB sneak was called from the sideline you moron! As far as him being selfish, the pass to Orson was an audible by Murray…guess he’s not so selfish after all. Ted M, Jarvis Jones got pulled down by a OL using both hands. It was obviously why the play was successful because Jones would have turned the runner back inside. Same as when Crowell had a 22 yard run called back.
Pollyana, not to start anything with you, but Murray’s INT went thru Charles’ hands and hit him on the helmet. It’s kinda hard to criticize Murray for that.
It seems like he throws pretty good when the line gives him time. I do agree that Mason should get some meaningful playing time. I cannot figure out how Richt can say, “we need to get Hutson Mason in the game somehow,” and NOT get him in the game.

Aaron Murray, Joey, sir ?
He has played 7 games vs teams who finish in the AP Poll Top 25. He LOST all 7.
He has played 9 games vs teams who do not finish AP Poll Top 25. Lost 2 of those.
He settled for Five (5) Field Goals vs a team who last week lost to Vandie 30-7, he fumbled twice, he threw an interception, he overthrew his receivers, threw the ball too hard when they dropped them, floated passes over their heads, threw behind the receivers, is SMALL, is 4.7 speed in the 40-yard dash (disregard anything out of Spring Training at UGA where our OVER-INFLATED stats say he ran slightly faster) because he LEADS the ENTIRE NATION in being sacked here in The SEC where the DL are FASTER than he is, obviously, he cannot see over the line, when a RB or WR goes out in the flats and the defenders can see he is going to pass and they cannot get there in time they jump up and he cannot see the player he is throwing to is likely not even 5′ 11′ has ZERO HOPE of EVER playing a game in the NFL or being drafted, is NO WHERE NEAR the BEST QB in The SEC, continually looks like he is AFRAID on the football field and PURPOSELY throws himself to the TURF before the defense gets there to him, he TWEETS to our OPPONENTS before game saying “Goin down to the ‘Dome to kick some a**” is a TOTAL BALL HOG and always HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE, is a nobody of a LEADER on or OFF the field tweeting on national Twitter.com site of his OWN everyone monitors Joey, and I will be bloody well darned if I am going to sit here and let someone make up EXCUSES for all this. He has been here THREE (3) years. He is the only QB who gets any snaps. Zach Mettenberger came in for LSU last night. LSU is the team who has won 36 consecutive games vs non-conference opponents and they were playing # 15 West Virginia. We are a poorly coached football team, and it is never more evident than in the results this QB puts up with the # 7 average recruiting class all 11 years around him. There is NO EXCUSE at the 1-yard line for HIM to check-off to his OWN NUMBER instead of giving the ball to Isaiah Crowell and taking the QB sneak, and there is NO EXCUSE for calling his own number by NOT CHECKING-OFF at the line of scrimmage throwing a POORLY THROWN pass to Orson Charles the other time we were at the 1-yard line, other than he wants to run up his STATS himself. No. I do not like the guy. With good bloody reason. Happy to discuss. Yes, I think Aaron Murray had a HORRIBLE game, again. It is what he does.

Yesterday we saw a much improved UGA playing with more discipline than in the first two real games. There were some trick plays and a over their head effort by Ole Miss, another team with their back clearly against the wall. Sure the line still looks substandard and needs work and the offensive let down in the second half is concerning but we have always been know as a team that just finds a way to win. This was a quality win over a desperate opponent that let it all hang out but these Dawgs still emerged victorious. If their improvement continues at the same pace every week this may well end up as a good season.

Running with the Dawgs……
So Bama is going to come into THE SWAMP next Saturday NIGHT and score 56 points on the Gator defense……….obviously………you haven’t taken notice of how good the Gator D is. I guess you are selling some valuable swamp land in Arizona as well. Now……if Brantley throws 5 INTs that are returned for TDs…..then…..Bama may might score 40.
I see Bama coming in and playing to stop the Gator run….and doing so…..and forcing Brantley to throw to beat them…..which I don’t think he can. But the Bama offense will not run all over the Gator D unless a lot of Gators on D get hurt during the game.
I see a score more like this:
Bama 27, Florida 14…..with Bama scoring a late fourth quarter TD to put the game away against a very young and pesky Gator team.
P.S. Did anyone see Demps 84 yard TD run last night? He outran 3 Kentucky players with angles on him, including one Kentucky player who was 7 or 8 yards in front of him and had an angle…..and Demps ran right past him like a rocket. Man….he is fast.

I don’t understand why everyone gets so upset. UGA is not and never was an elite program. One lucky season in 1980 because of Walker, and a couple good seasons in the early 2000’s while the SEC was down, does not make you an elite program. The sooner you accpet this reality the better off you will be.

My bad, Pollyana, because I was thinking Murray played with 10 other players on the offense. You know, half of who are supposed to block for him.
Blasting him for not beating a winning team is idiotic. Does he call the offensive plays? Does he make the game plans every week? Is it his call to go for FGs or go for it on 4th and 2? Does he drop passes? Does he play center and let the MLB run right past him for a sack? Does he play on the punt team? Does he play DB and get beat on pass plays? Does he miss FGs?
One guy doesn’t loose games, especially one who accounts for 4 times as many TDs as turnovers.

After having watched some of the LSU game last night……they are the best team in the country. Bama is a near second. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Boise follow in that order. Oklahoma could get upset by someone other than Oka State and then Oklahoma could beat Oklahoma State…..which would open the door for Boise to play in the NC game against the winner of the LSU-Bama game. In that case, I think LSU and Bama should repeat play in the NC game….because either are significantly better than Boise…..from what I have seen.
P.S. I watched the Ole Miss – Georgia game yesterday. Crowell is going to be an excellent RB in the SEC….no doubt. He just has that thing that great RBs have. Murrary looks ordinary. The Georgia OL looks very ordinary. The defense stopped a horrible Ole Miss offense. But I still think Georgia will run the table before coming to JAX and Bulldawg nation will be out of their minds with SEC championship dreams once again…….but….then….you would have to play LSU or Bama….NOT GOOD.

After reading page after page of UGA fans posts, one can get the impression that UGA lacks an identity.
While LSU, Alabama, Florida are known for physical play( Florifa on defense) , the UGA faithful seem to be wondering if thet are a running team, finesse team, defensive team, wide open offense or any other moniker out there. The first thing an outsider notices about. UGA is the teams up and down emotions play to play. It may be me, but that type of emotion is corrected or properly instilled by the coaches year around and is a learned behavior.
For years UGA under Richt was known for an explosive offense with multiple playmakers and great defensive lineman. In recent years the explosive players have been there but have not perormed in the system that UGA fans have been accustomed to. There has not been that outstanding defensive lineman that makes a difference. The good teams that line up against UGA are just goung to play smash mouth football and dominate the line of scrimmage with a mix of short passes and screens.
UGA has the talent, but my observation is there just is not a great deal of depth at many positions.

The UF defense ranks right up there with LSU and Bama. The difference is learning the system under Muschamp will take a full year or so. The offesne is fast, they are not lining up in the right places and hit the corners very fast. They do not have that big back who can line up and get you 4 yards a carry down after down but they will adjust to the players they have in the system.
UF is going to be a force to reckon with and anyone who thinks going into the swamp and winning is easy needs to readjust your inner clock. UF is a top 15 team and can play with anyone.

Did I say UF would beat Alabama or LSU? No! As an Alabama fan first , S E C fan second, while working multiple games a year for the conference, I have seen Florida, USC, LSU and Alabama all play and I was speaking of defenses only. Anyone with a brain knows that in road conference games that on many many occasions a great team can get beat by a good team. UF is good, very good on defesne but will need more time under Muschamp to be there with the LSU’s and Bama’s with the talent and coaching those teams have. After Charlie Strong left UF the philosphy changed with the new coaches, then Myers left and more new coaches arrived. That is the nature of the game and why most coaches like to keep a good core of coaches year after year. Look at MSU, Diaz left and they are learning under new coaches and they have regressed.
But UF is one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the league if not higher even after the coaching change. Florida has depth and loads of talent and speed. Bama and LSU should win, but for Bama it is a road game and road games are always a reason to fear a loss.

I was watching the game and at the time I was really surprised that Richt didn’t go for it. The ball is on the 30 and even if you don’t make it Ole Miss takes over on the 30. If you miss the FG Ole Miss takes over on the 30, which is what happened. I think there is a greater chance of gaining 1 yard than kicking a 48 yard fg. I don’t understand Richt’s thinking.

Based on what I have seen, I certainly would not rate the Vols as the 9th or 11th best team in the SEC. Frankly, I think they have looked better than Georgia, Auburn, MSU, Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss….so that would currently place them at the 6th spot…behind Arkansas, SC, Florida, Bama, and LSU.

The solution is very simple. With all of the talk about conference realignment UGA needs to switch with West Virginia and go to what is left of the Big East. Even though UGA sucks they still have a big name and would bring some much needed “Star Power” to the Big East, just the way an aging Rock Group would by playing at your local Bar. And who knows they may even be able to win that conference every 5-7 years. Go Dawgs. (to the Big East)

I think the Bama game will come down to just too much SEC tested experience on the Bama side next Saturday…..on the defensive side of the ball. The Gators D is very good….but they are still young and lack the big game experience that Bama has on D. Bama wins 27-14. I think the Gators will play well in LSU for one half (14-3, LSU at the half)…..then LSU takes over and wins……31-10. Then the Gators learn from the big game expereinces and comes back and wins out….including beating SC up there in an upset….and wins the East. Then play even better against LSU or Bama in the SEC title game.

I think you’re probably right on your predictions fo the Bama and LSU games. We’ve still got alot of growing up to do. While they did a great job on the reduction in penalties yesterday, the turnovers will kill us against a good team and we are about to face 2 of the best in the country. All in all, I like what I’ve seen so far. Even saw them throw it downfield to the WR’s a little more last night. If we can keep from turning it over, then we can keep it close with Bama, as I don’t know if their QB can beat us and we are stout against the run. Wow, the trolling on this board is absolutely pathetic, to say nothing of the individuals performing said trolling.
Georgia WON yesterday. Yes, it wasn’t a 100-point blowout, but it was a win that slightly surpassed the official line, which I believe was 10-points.
That isn’t to say there isn’t room for improvement.
Special teams defense needs work (two blown returns today plus that fake against SC equals need for improvement), and Blair Walsh had a horrible game. That doesn’t mean he’s a bad kicker: he just had a bad day (remember Brandon Coutu against Carolina in ‘07? Great kicker, but he missed at least 3 or 4 easy FGs that day).
The offense looked good overall. It was nice to see Aaron spread the ball around to a bunch of different receivers (Mitchell, White, King, Charles and Bennett all caught passes) as he’s done all year. Crowell also had a great game: heck, I think little Carlton Thomas might be the best match with Crowell. He came in and made some great runs, and speed at the RB position is never a bad thing (ask Florida). I will, however, say that we got too concerned with clock management later in the game, resulting in a few too many three-and-outs. For goodness sake, if they’re hitting your backs behind the line, bring ‘em in and dump off on a screen. It’s practically a running play anyway!
The defense, however, played great, with the exception of the substitution mania that, in part, caused Ole Miss’s only offensive TD. However, we seemed to get that under control in the second half and took over. Also, shouldn’t Christian Robinson be coming back either this week or next? And I imagine Ogletree’ll be back for Florida, so this D’ll only get better in the coming weeks.
To revisit a previous point, the trolling here is absurd. Ole Miss never lead at any point. Heck, they didn’t even come that close to tying it up, and some people here are acting like we had to win in triple overtime.
Now, I understand that some of these so-called “fans” are actually Techies (or other random fans like Clemson) masquerading as Georgia fans to sow dissent, which is sad in it’s own right. Congrats to Tech and Clemson, by the way, and I mean that.
However, some of these trolls claim to be actual Georgia fans, and, if that’s the case, then quit watching ‘em and get off the boards. No one wants to hear a fair-weather fan complain. If you have genuine criticism (and can say it without being a complete douche), then that’s one thing. But those crazies that want to scream about firing the coaching staff or benching our best players every week for no discernible reason need to just shut up and get off the boards. You’re not doing any good and are only proving Ivan Maisel right when he talked about our fanbase (http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/6956421/despite-starting-0-2-georgia-bulldogs-building-blocks-college-football).
As for the next few games, I’m expecting big things out of our Dawgs. Mississippi State has clearly regressed since last year (their defense is awful: losing Manny Diaz to Texas clearly hurt), and Tennessee has ZERO running game and only one reliable receiver, as well as an unproven defense. If you think we don’t have a good chance of winning both of those games, you’re a damn fool.
That said, sermon over.
Go Dawgs!

UGA pretty much dominated Ole Miss, as they should have. The problem is the score doesn’t indicate how thoroughly the Dawgs won. The Dawgs cannot play this slack and expect to beat MSU, UT in Nashville, and particularly the Gators. I am in hopes that this was a hard game to get up for and UGA was down a few starters.
The no huddle doesn’t have a big affect if the players all look to the sidelines for a play for 10 seconds. Special teams weren’t sharp, particularly punting (not knocking Walsh here). For the second week in a row, the announcers were questioning play calling. That three strikes and a punt with a minute eleven left in the half was simply buffoonery. WTF? There are times that the Dawgs look unprepared. One of those times (note UF game last year) is when time is ticking off the clock.
Still love my Dawgs, and I am hoping to see this team firing on all cylinders. Vast improvement last year and this year in the penalty department. The dream team is proving to be just that (albiet still a little green). Guys are stepping up to fill in for injured teammates. There is a lot to be excited about. They just need to tighten it up.

You Jack Wads don’t know a darned thing about football. That becomes more and more apparent everytime I read some of these so called critiques.
First of all you can’t “add in the 2 long runs” Ole Miss had, because they wouldn’t have been long runs if holding didn’t take place. That’s like saying if you take Reggie Bush out of the picture, USC would have their National Championship back.
This team played well and if not for a couple of trick plays (which UGA needs to start using from time to time) and missed field goals, the score could have easily been 36-0. Ole Miss flat out couldn’t move the ball against what amounts to a second string UGA defense and UGA moved the ball up and down the field on them. What Bobo needs to learn is style points don’t win games, points do. He needs to use some imagination once he gets inside the opponents 30. And, my guess is they are holding back a little bit for the more worthy opponents. No point in showing your hand on the Flop (Texa Holdem term). They played vanilla against an inferior opponent Saturday and still dominated. A real football student would know there are great things to come from this group.
If anybody will beat them the rest of this year…it will be Florida and/or GT. GT may well wind up undefeated. They are playing awesome football right now. And I agree with one of the posts I read….It’s about time AJC gave Georgia Tech some LUV!!! They’ve earned it.

Alabama and LSU are heads and shoulders above every program in the SEC and maybe the country. Also, they are built to be great for years to come. UGA will not win the SEC in the next 5 years. I don’t dislike UGA but am just telling how I see it. Bama and LSU have second and possible third team defensive players that would start for UGA and be among their best players.

UGA has a duel threat QB and bobo doesnt utilize that at all. if meyer or spurrier had georgias talent they would win every year. its time to kick bobo to the curb and bring in a proven O cord or i hate to say it . richt will be gone.

It’s a win – we’ll take it – we’ll move on. We still are not at full strength in several areas one of which is running back – when will Boo Malcombe hit the field again???? We need a good back besides Crowell and Samuel IV. It’s not easy to hold any SEC team to the figures the Dawgs D held Ole Miss to – I’ll take that as a plus. The O was ineffective in the second half – we need to fix that. But on a more serious note: Anybody who saw LSU or Alabama play this weekend can easily come to the conclusion that Georgia is NOT in that league right now. Not even close. Those teams are fueled by nuclear fission right now and we are still powered by coal. It’s just a fact. Having said that – UGA’s schedule just might get them to the SEC CG….Florida is the only real threat the rest of the way – the problem is – we can’t hang with Alabama or LSU this year – ain’t gonna happen. I wish it were otherwise, but it’s not. But, we can still have a good year and hope we get to the big dance and make a game of it. Crowell is going to be good. We have good receivers. The O line and D line need to step up and get healthy. We might surprise a few people before the year is out

All wins are good wins! SEC wins are better. Away SEC games are even better than that – no matter who they are against! However, no one – escpecially the coaches – are under any illusions of grandeur. Believe it or not, the people who coach in the big leagues for a living do have some knowledge of what their team is doing and what they will have to do to continue to win. The Dogs are far from perfect and they can be frustrating at times. But let’s cut them some slack! They have won 2 games in a row and play 8 more, hopefully 9. All you Monday Morning Geniuses…….. just cool it and see what happens. Then you can cheer, cry, bitch, or jump ship altogether and become an Alabama or Florida fan!

Why does Richt continue to turn the governor off, when we have an opportunity to score points. I was flabbergasted and pissed we wasted the last series of the second Qtr., instead content to just walk off to the locker room. We could have run 3-4 plays and either scored a TD or kicked a chip shot field goal, instead Richt decided to pack it in. That is inexcusable to me.
I agree with you Jeff, Richt also had an opportunity to pound the rock for 1 yard and instead decided on a 48 yarder. Pathetic!!! He has become WAY TOO conservative!!!

1. A very solid team with enough talent for SEC champion. And, we can tell the practice and training are excellent as well
2. Bad game calling, especially offense. Mike Bobo is an outstanding QB coach but a poor offense coordinator. We should have won the South Carolina gave if we kept using our strength such as running and play actions on the offense instead of rotating different plays over and over and showing our weakness to them.
3. Bad game control and no ambition to win big: Before the end of first half in Ole Miss game, we had more than 35 seconds and one time out. We really should call time out and make a few more offense plays instead of giving the time up. Before the end of the second half, we had a timeout before the fourth down. But, we got a penalty of delay game when we tried to punt the ball. I really doubt whether the coaches had the concentration on the game or they have normal IQ.
Again, We have given Bobo enough time to learn and we need a sophisticated and smart offense coordinator. Since he controlled the offense, the talent has never been well exploited.

Thought ya’ll might like this from ESPN:
5. Riding Rainey and Demps: First-year Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis promised when he arrived in Gainesville that he’d find more than a few ways to get the football to Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps. Weis said he’d never had that kind of speed at running back before at any level and was going to make sure he used it to the max. So far, he’s been true to his word. Rainey and Demps have already left several vapor trails out on the field this season, and they both rushed for more than 100 yards in the 48-10 battering of Kentucky on Saturday. The Gators rushed for 405 yards in that game, and even though Rainey and Demps aren’t the biggest guys, they’re finding their way into open spaces with regularity. And when they get a step on you, it’s goodbye. They’re easily the most dynamic running back combination in the SEC to this point. They’ve combined for nine touchdowns, and each has a scoring play of 80-plus yards. You better not blink when either of these guys touches the ball.

GT’s also has the most recent title, and quite frankly losing to GT is like losing to Harvard with a football team. However, very few D-1 teams are posting the amount of offense GT is posting this year, including those weak games against Agnes Scott (i.e. Coastal Carolina).
It is just amuses me when UGA fans attack GT when they attempt to defend their program, when everyone knows the UGA program is the biggest LMAO program in D-1 football. Nobody respects the UGA program, not even major sports media outlets.

I do not know what is so interesting about the AP Poll Top 25 with Ohio State not ranked in either poll, and all of these teams being the teams with the most points by teams not in the Top 25 :
Michigan State
Houston
Auburn
Iowa State
# 1 LSU
# 3 Alabama
# 10 South Carolina
# 12 Florida
# 18 Arkansas
Of course, Florida is fixin to drop.
# 6 Best SEC team UGA not ranked for 3rd Year in a Row with the # 1 Best QB in SEC
And, if UGA got votes in the “Others Receiving Votes” in AP Poll, our own coach did not even vote for us in the Coaches’ Poll.
UGA no votes Coaches’ Poll yet Mark Richt has a vote in it.
If Mark Richt would not be so negative, UGA would actually beat a team finishing in the Top 10, the Top 25 and would quit losing to teams not even ranked in the Top 25. It is all Mark Richt’s fault for being negative.

Aaron Murray for 2011 is # 43 in nation in passing yards
Aaron Murray for 2010 is # 40 in nation in passing yards
UGA for 2011 is # 13 in nation Total Defense
UGA for 2010 is # 23 in nation Total Defense
UGA for 2011 is # 37 in nation Total Offense
UGA for 2010 is # 56 in nation Total Offense
While it is clear that UGA has FAILED on Special Teams playing nothing but walk-ons
The Real Issue was last year, and is again this year, The Offense or lack thereof.
Aaron Murray is the Leader of the Offense.
He has veto power over any play called from the sidelines
He either checks off to himself, or doesn’t if the play call is for him
He runs his stats up vs teams with Losing Records
He fails to show up against teams with Winning Records
He throws fuel on that fire, if the running game struggles
He makes any RB or OL look bad holding onto ball too long
He has his worst games vs teams with Winning Records
He has his best stats games vs cupcakes with Losing Records
He also is in a daze vs cupcakes such as Colorado & Florida
Florida should have been 7-6 team, but their QBs better than he
Colorado a 5-7 team, saw their dual-threat QB better than he
Arky Ryan Mallet better than he & why he lost
Missy State Chris Relf dual-threat QB better than he & why he lost
Auburn’s QB better than he & why he lost
U Central Florida QB better than he & why he lost
Boise State QB better than he & why he lost
Stephen Garcia better than he both games & why he lost
He throws himself to the Turf when he sees DL after him, scared
He sent big msg to teammates with his Tweet to Boise State
He Tweeted : Goin to Dome to kick some a** pre-game
He does nothing when players showboat on Offense
He is not a good leader on the field or off it
He is small
He is NOT a Dual-Threat QB, now is he ?
He is our Quarterback
He has played every snap of every game, like Saturday, again
He is NOT a Leader on or off the field QB Tweet opponent kick some a**
He does nothing with True Frosh RB Isaiah Crowell jawing after every play
He is nowhere near the Best QB in The SEC as you’ll bragged to me

Just so you know, Jeff…
Richt sent a very valuable message to his team on that 4th and 1…when some of his players vocalized they wanted to go for it, he told them simply that if they wanted a first down they should have made it with the first three plays of that series.
Sounds like a reasonable retort to me.

It is NOT.
Ask Reggie Ball Georgia tek Quarterback how many downs the Offense has
As already stated before you on this blog by many other posters, you reply to – and ignore totally – Mark Richt SETTLED for 5 Field Goals and after the game BLAMED the field goal kicker.
As already stated above numerous times too you reply to and ignore, we were on the 30-yard line where if you miss a 48-yard field goal, they get it at the 30 and it was 4th Down vs worst football team in America.
How do we know this ?
Because
Mark Richt on our side of the field, went for it on 4th Down in SAME GAME.
So, you run in here and make up the EXCUSE the Coach who is 13-13 after 2005 vs SEC East teams, is right ?
Which time ?

Pollyanna…how apropos to have a female identifier as your posting name. Are you a lady or just a guy that likes that name?
That’s right…Murray is our starter and if anybody else gave us a better chance at winning, they would be in there. That includes Hutson Mason. And Murray was recruited as a pro-style quarterback, not a dual-threat. You are obviously mis-informed about this yet still harp on it incessantly for some reason.
You seem quite comfortable being in the dark about a lot of things, but that’s okay. Bottom line, no one really cares what you think and if you don’t like our team, our QB, our coaches or anything else for that matter, take a hike.
We won’t miss you. We promise.
And until you’ve been in Murray’s shoes, until you’ve dropped back in the pocket in a D-1 college football game, trying to execute a pass or run while being pursued by five or six defenders, each one very big, very strong, very fast and very pi$$ed off, and all of them trying to pummel you into the turf, all in about three seconds…
SHUT UP.

Should have proof-read my entry before submitting. My bad. Meant to write “how un-apropos to have the female identifier Pollyanna as your posting name.”
Now, a line I left out as an oversight…Pollyanna was an optimist. Some would say overly so, to the point of foolishness. Your post is exactly opposite of that, negative to the level of demeaning. Just doesn’t fit together, but whatever.
Mr/Ms Pollyanna (whichever is appropriate)…criticizing a kid you don’t even know and whose shoes you have never walked in, looks really bad for you, but it’s obvious from your words that you don’t care anyway.
Peace, Polly.

Pollyanna…how apropos to have a female identifier as your posting name. Are you a lady or just a guy that likes that name?
“Murray is our starter and if anybody else gave us a better chance at winning, they would be in there.”
Right, that explains Malcolm Mitchell burried on the Depth Chart by this coaching staff, who is by the way 13-13 vs SEC East after 2005.
“Murray was recruited not as a dual-threat. You are obviously mis-informed about this yet still harp on it incessantly for some reason.”
Excuse me, this entire group of Pollyanna’s such as yourself continually said he not only is the Best QB in The SEC, but that he is a DUAL-THREAT.
It is I, who said he is NOT a dual-threat. Your reply ? I’m right.
I also said he throws his little body on the ground when approached by one of the 11 he plays against each week, with his 8-9 record as our Starting QB. Your reply ? Oh, that’s ok, he’s supposed to be a wuss – perhaps because you are too ?
“And until you’ve been in Murray’s shoes, until you’ve dropped back in the pocket in a D-1 college football game, trying to execute a pass or run while being pursued by five or six defenders, each one very big, very strong, very fast and very pi$$ed off, and all of them trying to pummel you into the turf, all in about three seconds”
“SHUT UP.”
What is the 1 refrain from all Pollyanna’s ? Only their view heard. Please no one try to suggest we might not have the best possible coaching staff making these choices of Favorites they prefer.

Fact,we beat Ole Miss. Fact,Ole Miss is not a very good team and may be the worst team in the conference. IMO UGA’s level of performance against Ole Miss. is not good enough to win against remaining teams on the schedule (with one exception).
IMO, UGA looked better losing against S. Carolina than winning against Ole Miss.
The performance against S. Carolina was encouraging. The performance against Ole Miss. was discouraging. Some of the players are very talented. Some are young without a lot of game experience. Some have game experience but don’t play like they have learned anything from the experience. The “go to” receiver, Charles, dropped two of the 1st three passed thrown to him. They were both catchable. One resulted in an interception. Sammuel, has the experience but he can only get 1,or 2 yds. consistently. With Thomas and Sammuel as backups to Crowell, I can only wonder about the next back up sitting on the bench. He must be very bad. Richt has a thing about rewarding less talented players with game time, because they have paid their “dues” and are 2nd or 3rd year players. Most coaches will reward these type of players, but not while you are still trying to win.
For coaches and teams remaning on this years’ schedule, definitely include fake punts and miss directions plays in your game plan. UGA does not run or defend those plays well.
Aaron Murray had to run for his life
September 26th, 2011

QB Murray needed roller blades vs. Ole Miss. He was constantly bull rushed, shoved, harassed and chased by this very, very sub par Ole Miss D. team and that shows us how horrifc our O line is. We are in deep T folks with our awful O line.
MSU is a physical, solid, hard nosed, well coached squad and if UGA is not up to being physical, it will be ugly. Murray needs to roll out of the pocket and release the freaking ball or he will be dog stew by game’s end, I fear.
We need to move the chains on MSU by hitting our FBs and our running backs and flare passes. If we try to go with Murray’s 45 yd bombs, Murray will be dumped and will always be in 3rd and 16 situations.
We can no longer trust Walsh either. He has become a head case.
Go Dogs. UGA Dogs, that is.
