Sept. 3, Boise State (Ga. Dome), 8 p.m.
No. 5 Boise State has been outscored 121-40 in its past three games against SEC teams: Georgia (48-13 in 2005), South Carolina (41-14 in 2002) and Arkansas (32-13 in 2001). I like the Broncos anyway. I’m not sure Georgia’s defense has an answer for quarterback Kellen Moore (left), and as terrific as Aaron Murray is, I suspect it will take a little while to get used to life without A.J. Green. The Dogs’ cast of running backs is obviously thin (and Carlton Thomas is suspended for this game). If freshman Isaiah Crowell comes out like a wrecking ball, all bets are off. But I’m betting not.
Prediction: Bulldogs lose.
Sept. 10, South Carolina, 4:30 p.m.
Marcus Lattimore rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns in the Gamecocks’ 17-6 win over Georgia in Columbia last season. On paper, No. 12 South Carolina should repeat as SEC East champions if Stephen Garcia doesn’t mess things up. But he very well might. The Dogs should be a little more comfortable in Athens than in the Georgia Dome. They’ll also feel a bit desperate after the opening loss to Boise State. The defense steps up just enough, and Murray will make one more play than Garcia in the end.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Sept. 17, Coastal Carolina, 1 p.m.
If the Dogs are 0-2 going into this game, Sanford Stadium is going to look like Tombstone, Ariz., post-shootout at the OK Corral. Either way, this one is a gimme. Coastal Carolina is an FCS (formerly Division I-AA) school that plays in a 9,000-seat stadium. The Chanticleers play these games for the paycheck — and to strike fear in their health insurance company.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Sept. 24, at Mississippi
The Rebels finished 4-8 last season after going 19-8 in coach Houston Nutt’s first two years, and they’ll be no better this year. Strange, considering the coach annually signs like 7,000 players for 20 spots in recruiting every year. Not much is expected from the Ole Miss defensive front, so this is a good chance for the Dogs’ offensive line and Crowell to get rolling.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Oct. 1, Mississippi State
Notwithstanding the losses to South Carolina and Arkansas that preceded it, Georgia’s 2010 season really fell apart with its 24-12 loss in Starkville (its first loss to Mississippi State since 1974). At 0-3 in the SEC, the season was over. That won’t be the case this time. No. 20 MSU lost some guys along the defensive front, and winning in Athens is something they’ve done only twice (1914 and 1956, with Georgia winning nine straight at home since).
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Oct. 8, at Tennessee
So things are rolling now, right? Four consecutive wins since the loss to Boise State and 3-0 in the SEC? Now comes trouble. I know. It’s Tennessee. But freshman quarterback Tyler Bray won four of his five starts down the stretch (16 touchdowns, seven interceptions), and coach Derek Dooley (left) gets his players to play hard, if not always smart. Mark Richt’s Dogs have been shellacked in their past two trips to Knoxville (combined score: 80-33). And I don’t believe Georgia will win every game it’s supposed to.
Prediction: Bulldogs lose.
Oct. 15, at Vanderbilt
Vandy ranked 110th in the nation in offense last season, and the wonder is that there were 10 teams worse. The Commodores scored 96 points in eight SEC games. Auburn scored 306. But at least Vandy beat Ole Miss. If the Dogs’ defense doesn’t smack Vandy, coordinator Todd Grantham may not want to board the bus afterward.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Oct. 29, Florida (Jacksonville), 3:30 p.m.
A game against Vandy and a bye week is about as good a setup as Georgia can have against its annual tormentors. But last year it had Vandy and Kentucky leading into Florida Week and still lost to a Gators team that had lost three straight (including 10-7 at home to Mississippi State). Florida won’t be great this season. But the offensive resume of new assistant Charlie Weis tells us that he’ll probably make something of quarterback John Brantley.
Prediction: Bulldogs lose.
Nov. 5, New Mexico State
Here’s your reach for positive karma. The last time Georgia played New Mexico State was in 2002, when Richt won his first SEC title in Athens. The Aggies are dreadful. They lost games last year by scores of 42-10, 42-16, 59-0, 52-6 and 59-24. Another walkover.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Nov. 12, Auburn
That guy at quarterback for No. 23 Auburn is gone. So is half of the defense. All together, 18 starters are gone from the BCS title team. You can’t take anything away from a coach who goes undefeated through the SEC and wins a national championship, but we’re about to find out how good Gene Chizik really is. Expect the Tigers to run the ball a lot with Michael Dyer, but he won’t be enough.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Nov. 19, Kentucky
Coach Joker Phillips said, “I expect us to be in the title race longer than we have been.” I’m not sure what that means. Five minutes? But Georgia can’t laugh too much. This used to be one of those automatic wins, but not anymore. The Dogs are only 3-2 in the past five meetings, and there have been way too many chaotic moments against Big Blue.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.
Nov. 26, at Georgia Tech
Since Tech upset Georgia and ripped off pieces of the Sanford Stadium hedges in Paul Johnson’s first season, the Dogs have won the past two meetings. The Jackets probably won’t be as bad this season as some forecast. But it’s difficult to know how far along Tevin Washington and/or Synjyn Days will be at quarterback, and we can be fairly certain Murray will be very good for Georgia.
Prediction: Bulldogs win.

Agreed on the predicted loss Florida, that’s pretty much a given from here on out until we actually show up. Just don’t think we will roll over a third straight time against Tennessee. They are still extremely young at almost every position and may have to start as many as 4 freshmen on defense. Never a good sign, so because we have a veteran QB and a defensive coordinator that knows how to make adjustments, I don’t think we lose to UT.

The flipside is if we stomp Boise we will be overconfident when the Ol Ball Coach comes to town. I think we split the two. Lose to Florida, I won’t predict a win until the week of the game, part of the JAX Convention I signed in 2002 with Gator the Dawg Catcher. Beat the rest, some closer than others. Then lose to Bama in the SECC.
It is August. The time of year that a Dawg fan dreams of great things. Then the season starts and dashes our hopes. Insert sad smiley face here.

I watched the replay of the Miss St, SC and Ark games 4 times each. Had Ga ran the ball more in those games the outcome would of been different. The defense played better than what the record indicate.
If Crowell gets 20 to 25 carries a game, I believe we will go undefeated. If Murray pass on 1st and 2nd downs like he did last season, I think they will lose 2 games. The SEC won 5 straight NC because those teams had a good running game and a dominate defense.

Jeff…agree with most of predictions…I like Boise State and like you, think Kellen Moore will pick apart the UGA secondary. They also have a super running back, a solid offensive line and one of the nation’s best defensive lines. They will be a load for Georgia…I’m wondering why UGA agreed to this game in the Dome. I’m telling you…Boise State on grass in the Georgia heat would have made this a seven pt. spread. Boise State on artificial turf is no fun. Oh, saw the famed blue turf a few years ago when we were there…it is freaky how dark blue it really is. Bet you didn’t know that blue artificial turf supposedly holds heat better than green…seriously I read in a Sports Illus. when they did an article on the changes in artificial turf since the old astroturf days…go figure.

It all comes down to defense. Richt and Bobo have shown their hand: they run a vanilla pro-style scheme and hope to win on special teams and talent. That plan works with a shut down defense; it is suspect with a mediocre defense and a disaster with a bad one. Georgia is weak at linebacker and unproven in the secondary. 8-4 and the head coach search begins.

Howard, how you think Kellen Moore gonna pick UGA apart? They have most of their starters returning and those windows will be a lot tighter than Moore is used to in the WAC. The DBs are faster in the SEC than in the WAC. I bet Kellen throws at least 2 picks.

Kellen Moore can pass, but so can 85% of every QB the Dawgs have faced the last few seasons.
Boise State lost Austin Pettis and Titus Young, who accommodated for about 90% of Kellen Moore’s passing last year.
The dawgs are a better team with AJ Greene, but without him we will be utilizing our stable of TEs and other VERY good WRs more.
If we have ANY success running the ball early, then spread the receivers out… Boise’s D will have NO CLUE what hit them.

But if you guys don’t want to see it that way, you’ll see it next Saturday. I swear you will. Georgia is hungrier than ever, the players want it bad and if this game comes down to who wants it more, UGA wins by a mile.
I think everyone believe Georgia will win but just don’t want to admit it. That’s called a hater. They know UGA will win but they wouldn’t dare come on a UGA blog and admit that. I think it’s funny. LOSERS!

Here is solid Dawg logic for you:
Georgia is better than Florida this year. Reasons to support this:
1. Georgia lost a couple of key players off last year’s team. Florida also lost a couple of key players off their team. Therefore, Georgia will be better.
2. Georgia lost both of their starting RBs’ and a freshmen will carry the team this year. Florida has their 3 best RBs returning (Rainey, Demps, Burton). Therefore, Georgia will be better.
3. Georgia lost their all-world receiver to the NFL and has no one to replace him except a freshman that runs fast in 7 on 7 drills in the summer. Florida returns all of their receivers and has added a redshirt freshman (Dunbar) who woulld have started last year if he had not been injured. Therefore, Georgia is better.
4. Georgia has little depth and a couple of talented starters returning on the OL. Florida has little depth and a couple of talented starters returning on the OL. Therefore, Georgia is better.
5. Georgia lost its best DL to the NFL and returns the players who didn’t so much last year and their savior at NG can’t stand the summer heat. Florida returns its best DL (Jaye Howard) and their two 5-star DL (Floyd and Easley). Therefore, Georgia will be better.
Georgia moved their strong safety to ILB for on the job training. Florida has a preseason all-SEC ILB (Bostic) in the same postion. Therefore, Georgia will be better.
Georgia has a CB who runs very fast that can’t cover anyone. They have another one that is very good….then very little proven talent beyond that. Florida has two steady CBs (Brown and Riggs) and a lot of depth behind them, including a future star in Marcus Robertson (who can cover superman). Therefore, Georgia is better.
Georgia has a strong safety who, well, know one has really heard of. Florida has Matt Elam who has made many preseason watch lists at SS and was a highly recruited 5-star player out of HS and trained behind Ahmad Black last year…who is now playing in the NFL. Therefore, Georgia is better.
Georgia has Murrary at QB, who has never beaten a quality SEC team, and has Bobo as his OC. Florida has Brantley, who has never beaten a quality SEC team, and has the best OC in the country teaching him how to play QB well in the pro style offense that best fits his talents. Therefore, Georgia will be a lot better.
Georgia has two All American type kickers and an excellent return specialist. Florida has an excllent place kicker and a very good punter and several, really fast rerturn specialists. Therefore, Georgia is much better.
Finally…..Georgia has the remarkable HC that could not motivate his team to beat a horrible Florida team last year…with an OC that most Dawg fans hate with a passion. Georgia has a new coach who can motivate a turtle to run faster than a rabbit….and a OC that has 3 Super Bowl rings while serving as the Patriots OC….and who turn Brady into an All-World QB from a low round draft choice and 3rd string under the previous OC……also turned a struggling QB into an excellent QB at KC last year. And is working with John Brantley and the Gator offense now. Therefore, Georgia will be a lot better.
18 out of 21 and counting.

Athens: There were still missed assigments galore in the secondary last season and I don’t see any dramatic upgrades. Unless the defensive line is vastly improved the dawgs will not be able to put enough pressure on the qbs to bail out the secondary. Go back and watch the Tennessee or Arkansas games from last year. The linebackers are so weak it is going to be near impossible to incorporate alot of bliztes, so you are right back to relying on the secondary to blanket their men for 8 to 10 seconds. No secondary can do that in the SEC. You’re right, we’ve got the studs in the secondary, they just haven’t yet performed up to expectations.

Im not agreeing with this. Yes UGA should look at this schedule and say 10 win season, but the defense has to show up this year to do that. If not, every single one of these games can be a loss, not just the Cocktail party and a trip to UT (where the defense missed the bus). UGA has had a good enough offense over the last 3 years to be an SEC contender. The running game struggled last year, but they put the points up to win several games they lost.
The defense under Richt between from 01-07 gave up 30+ points on a handful of times total (maybe 4 I think). From 08 on, they have been giving that up and more on an annual basis. If Grantham’s D does not deliver this year and get the teeth back it needs to keep opposing offenses out of the end zone, then every one of these games outside of Coastal Carolina and New Mexico St. should be considered toss ups.

UGA will go nowhere without a better defense. If its not back to 07 and prior form, every game on this list other than Coastal Carolina and New Mexico St. is a toss up. 01-07 UGA gives up 30+ points 4-5 times total. Since 08, they’ve been doing that and more on an annual basis.

This team is too good to have a losing record. So the season can go one of three ways. If they lose the first two, they will iether be 8-4 or 7-5. Split the first two, 9which is what I believe will happen0, they end up 9-3 or 10-2. If they win the first two, and tey are talented enough, they can easily run the table. The defense , I think , is gonna be a beast this year. With Kwame and Alec plugging the run, Jarvis creating pressure and Boykin and Smith being top notch on the corners, the offense will have to prove itself. If the line holds up and the running game can be consistent enough to keep opposing defenses honest, Murray is gonna pick teams apart. My honest opinion though, 10-2 with losses to South Carolina and one other team I just can’t pick right now. Florida is NOT as good as us, but I would not bet money on that game.It just always makes fools of us.

LOL Another idiot thinking murray will have a great season because last year he was so stellar. Idiots like schultz said the same thing about jason Heyward entering this season. Murray had I think 8 int’s last year. Look for 12-14 this year. You idiots pump this guys ego up and make him think he’s favre. Gonna be a 5-6 loss season. And I wouldn’t discount tech at all considering they outplayed ga last year and lost because of badly timed fumbled and a missed pat. Add in uga with no aj or durham and their top 2 rushers gone, well it will be a long season in athens. Wait til the crowell hype vanishes after week 2. But yeah, he;s the next herschel. What on earth makes people think this season will be any better than last??? The two receivers are gone and drafted into the NFL. The O-line is thin and suspect. Will the defense be improved at all? It all starts on the line of scrimmage. We have fast raw athletes, but are they good smart football players? We know the team from the blue field has real football players. Sorry, I know this is very pessimistic outlook and I hope I’m wrong. Just a season ago, we got pushed around and I mean seriously manhandled by a bad Colorado team, Miss. State and, umm UCF!

As bad as the UGA family wants to see 9 wins, the first two games of the season will go a very long way in determining the fate of this 2011 version of the UGA bulldogs. Do the freshmen play like upperclassmen? Does the Offensive lineman protect Murray? Will a WR pick up their game to make some catches? Does the Defense play like a SEC division winner plays?
Who know the answers and the final result. Just looking at the initial outlay and schedule, it seems like a 9-3 or 8-4 season is possible. It also has the appearance of a 7-5 or 6-6 record. That is just how crazy this game is when placing so much on freshmen and sophmores.
I think UGA splits with Boise and USC, either way, but if UGA had a choice of losing one it would be to Boise. I just see MSU as a team that is going to be much better than folks think and they are huge on both sides of the ball. UF is always going to be good and that game will mean a great deal to Muschamp in his first season.
It is going to be a fun season and wishing all of your teams good luck and healthy seasons.

I disagree with the predicted losses to FL and TN. I see a loss to SC and possibly Miss. State. I think that the Dawgs have the UF game circled on the calendar and will have something to prove after last year’s disappointing loss. Coach Grohbo are you going to actually compare Georgia’s Schedule to Boise State? Let me give you a little insight from someone who know’s a little bit about the Georgia Football Program. We do not whine about losing players like A.J. Green, we simply develop new ones. The 48 point lashing from 2005 will seem merciful if Coach Richt decides to step on the gas. Coming from within close staff members, Coach has admited himself the need to “go for the kill” and this year will see the emergence of a less conservative Mark Richt. No team will be spared, nor will the oppurtunity to hang an embarrassing score on their schedule. This year will be the biggest push for a National Title since the 1980’s. Aaron Murray will lead the way, as well as his often over looked 5 star back up Hutson Mason. You may say I’m gloating, and yeah I am gloating, this team is special. My prediction is Georgia will go into the Florida game undefeated, and ranked atleast 7th, if not in the top 5 in the nation. The Boise game will suggest it, the South Carolina will broadcast it, and the Auburn game will confirm it. Prepare for the year of the Dawg.

@ Columbia, Marcus Lattimore will will certainly have to have a career game in Athens this year to ring up the Bulldogs 2 years in a row. The truth about the SEC this year is that not one time is a sure lock to run away with it. It would be foolish to think that Marcus Lattimore can carry the Gamecocks to the SEC Championship Game. South Carolina has a blaring weakness at Quarterback, Garcia is terrible and compared to Murray, his stats are awful. The returning defensive starters for the Gamecocks are impressive and if the game was about running backs and the front 4, it might turn out to be another less than 2 touchdown contest. The secondary will cost SC the game on that side of the ball and Georgia’s Special Team will offer a more adept play this year than ever before. The media has already set the Gamecocks on top of the SEC East, with everyone coming to play as hard as they can to knock them off. The Georgia game will be no different. I do think South Carolina has a very good football team though and trade Garcia for Murray, I would give them a chance at running the tables…

P.S. UGA will blow Tennessee out of their own stadium. They’ve done it before. UT has nothing to offer on the D-Line….NOTHING. UGA’s D will also be too much for the UT O-Line. Other than that, I think Richt will beat Florida also, the first time UGA defeats UT and UF in the same season since 1988. One more point, if UGA defeats SC in Athens, they will win the SEC East. It’s that simple.

Can you say 10-2? 10-2. One more time 10-2. AT LEAST.
UGA WILL SCORE AT LEAAST 40 AGAINST BOISE. MAYBE 50. What will the score be Schultz? I guess I will see next week.
UGA IS better this year, OK. Better then Boise because Boise wont stop us as much as we will stop them, especially in the 2nd half. Game 2 is the scary one. UT will be hard but it is winnable and UGA is the better team and also are hungry and stronger. We may have a pass rush this year too that is better than last years.
Maybe 11-1. UGA will not lose to Florida. UGA will not turn the ball over 4 times to them this year. It took UF overtime to beat us on our own mistake even with the 4 turnovers and UGA could have STILL won in regulation. Brantley will be better(how could he be worse?) but UGA will not gift them 4 turnovers this year Schultz. You missed this one.
UGA might lose 1 of the first 2 and one other one along the way. I think we will beat Tenn this year in Knoxville, it is due and we are more mentally tough this year than last year.
9-3 at worst
10-2 is more likely.
11-1 is possible.
12- 0 is also possible.
UGA is not as strong as when we played Boise before, especially not the 1st game of this season, nor as strong as the other teams were when they played them BUT…we dont have to be as strong to win the game. If we do not turn the ball over, this can be easily won in the 2nd half. You think UGA does not have a good defense? Cant stop the pass? Not fast enough to cover their receivers and/or put pressure on their QB? I say we man-handle their line most of the game and create some turnovers and win the game. Maybe win it easily by 10-15 points. At minimun, it will be a close game, very close game but even on the turf we win. It is going to be so LOUD in their Boise will get behind and panic.
The South Carolina game will be the toughest of the season without a doubt. Rivalry game. UGA is at home and that should help, but with the rivalry and Spurrier coaching and South Carolina’s players and all the players who are from GA and SC on the other team and then being recruited hard to play at UGA and all the other factors, it will be even all the way unless one team screws up. They seem to play harder here than anywhere and Spurrier will be ready. He is probably ready now! Has his plays ready to go. Big plays will decide the game and the least mistakes. UGA can win if they do not make mistakes and we can run the ball well. We could have won last year without Green but the late fumble on the goal line. it was hard fought and our defense was up to the task. If we play that good or better, we can win it this year for sure. Our D should be better too in the 2nd year with Grantham and with our guys in the middle to pressure. I think we make some picks that will help us and we get a fumble too because our defense is not about reacting but dictating to the other team and we will be stronger and hit harder than the last few years. If we have a pass rush up the middle that is effective and we run the ball well, UGA wins. It could go either way though. Hopefully the players are bitter from last year and after playing Boise the first game instead of a pushover, that usually makes for a better game the next week. More prepared to face a good team than when after playing SW Louisiana or somebody. It will be a GREAT game. Hopefully UGA at home, running game and DEFENSE wins.
10-2, 11-1, 12-0. Take your pick Schultz. Afraid to pick the Boise-UGA score? UGA will score 42 at least. AT LEAST.

The idea of making any predictions at all before the season has begun and without the benefit of observation and analysis of the teams playing is quite silly and preposterous. Now…if one recognizes that such ’speculating, hypothesizing, supposing and guessing are silly but wishes to do so regardless, then one can argue that’s it’s just about being a little silly and having a little fun. It would be beyond wise to resist the temptation to place any bets on any game at this juncture either.
But especially for games in which the talent is reasonable close, One might as well flip a coin and go with the results. For some games, the reliance upon history might well be more helpful as when two teams of very unequal talent play. In such a case, the coin toss is to be avoided. One can easily guess the few games that Georgia will play this year that can probablly be prognosticated without the use of the coin; the others where the talent is balanced are definitely coin-toss games. As the season moves along, observation and analysis eventually overtake the ‘coin toss’ as the more reliable manner of making predictions, but as a rule of thumb the coin toss is as reliable as any when it comes to games where the teams are equally talented and coached. Home field advantage does hold some sway…but not really that much. It’s the play on the field and luck that determine outcomes more than any other factors. The polls are nearly worthless until the beginning of October and that means all the amateurish guessing as well. But..what the heck, being silly and having a little fun is what makes college football a good bit of fun. So ..my own silliness is going as far as flipping a coin with UGA getting heads and Boise State gettting tails. The coin lands on heads and as with my silliness, I am saying UGA will defeat Boise State on Sept. 3rd by virtue of silly chance. The coin toss does not offer a score and neither will I.

I love Dawg fans! Always at this time of the year they think they are in the running for the national championship. But usually that is the ONLY time they are tied for 1st place and undefeated. They bitch about the media giving no respect to the program but when has UGA earned that respect? Yes, ESPN is sceptical in regards to UGA but that has been well-founded over the years. This will be another typical UGA year; 7-5 with a mediocre bowl game and omg, let’s hope we remember UCF!

I really hope UGA makes it to the Dome in December. If they do, Alabama will crush them by about 3 TD’s. Richt’s teams lack any discipline and are soft as a baby’s behind. I’m afraid that if the Dawgs lose to Boise the wheels will come off and they’ll be forced to get rid of Richt by the end of the season. I’d hate for them to get a real hard nosed coach.

UGA has a very winnable schedule this year, not having to play any of the 3 best in the SEC West. I think they go 9-3 but start off 0-2. I think they beat UT and lose another 1 along the way.
UF may surprise but the odds are against that. New staff, new systems and murderous schedule. They’ll be improved over last year but the record might not show it. They should be up for the top in 2013 however.

When and if you win a national championship, and since you have not won one since 1980, you will have the right to be as obnoxious as you want to be at that time. But since Alabama has a lot of those, you can therefore understand their right for obnoxious behavior……behavior you obviously would love to exhibit for just cause. Until then, you will just have to deal with those who have recently experienced what it is like to be a fan of a national champion. And, until then, you will just have to settle for being highly jealous of us……..and HATE us for being fans of championship programs. And good luck with that.

AJC Sports are such “homers”. Seems like every year UGA fans are the last to realize they aren’t as good as they imagined, and the AJC Sports dept. has a lot to do with those unrealistic expectations. Your SC game forecast is a good example of the wishful thinking that fluffs up your coverage.
Come November, when UGA fans are sitting around wondering what went wrong, they should pull up this column for reference. UGA goes 8-4, or possibly even 7-5 this year. They have no realistic chance in the SEC and will go bowling in some place like Shreveport.
Nothing against the Bulldogs, but you should shoot straight in your analysis.

Here’s how I look at this season- Georgia’s defense should be a lot better and Murray will have a very good season. Our running game will struggle early, but get much better as the year goes on. I believe the reason Georgia did so good earlier in Richt’s coaching career was because of the quarterbacks they had. You need a good quarterback to win in the SEC and Greene was the reason we won a lot of our games. I expect Murray to carry us to some big wins this season. Go Dawgs!

Something to consider, Schultz…statistically speaking, Aaron Murray has already experienced a season without AJ Green. He missed the first four games and was a total non-factor in three others. Not trying to nitpick and there are many legitimate reasons to think Georgia won’t win more than nine games this year (personally, I think they’ll only win eight). But losing AJ Green will be the least of many factors. The biggest concern I see is that Georgia lacks any depth at all where it matters most…RB and OL. We’re paper thin at the two positions most prone to injuries. That’s trouble in the SEC. In the unlikely event Georgia can avoid the injury bug, however, the schedule shapes up quite nicely this year.

Add to that the UF Gators had the worst team they have had in over 8 years and still beat a NFL caliber team at UGA. OPf course the tech. fans are on here mouthing off like they are even relevant, but chalk that up as a win for UGA. I think the MSU and Auburn games will be tougher than some predict but if the DAWGS are ready and play with intensity, they can pull out wins. @Country Boy: So SC is better coached than UGA. Why don’t you check out the Richt vs Spurrier record and tell me how many times each has won the SEC Championship. Richt has jettisoned his problem children but Spurrier can’t bring himself to boot problem child Garcia. Perhaps Spurrier is in some way related or lost a bet, No single college player has had more suspensions and various other rabblerousing activities than Garcia. Had Spurrier booted SG 2 years ago he probably would have a little less talented QB but he could relax at night occasionally. SG will stumble again before the season ends. Even Joe Don Looney(Oklahoma) could/did not match Garcia’s activities.

There is little chance that UGA loses to Tennessee. The Vol defense is dismantled and young. That has a chance to be a very high scoring game on both sides of the ball. MSU is really loaded and for those who saw them in Jacksonville on January 1 saw Mullen play a ton of youngster who have a full grasp of his system. His system does work. MSU changed defensive staffs but they are still returning 18 starters and a great deal of beef on both sides of the ball. They are athletic.
Auburn is just young and Malzahn and his misdirection will keep them in many many games, but that defense is going to get lit up. It will be a long season for Auburn and one can expect the quarterback situation to be very fluid for them all year.
Now at UGA, the one major key that no one is mentioning is the fact that Georgia goes as Murray goes. If the O line cannot keep him injury free it may be a very hard act for UGA to spread the field and keep teams off balanced. UGA’s defense will be better if they can get a great deal of 3 and outs, if not the depth will make it very hard for UGA to win some of those tight games.

I think Georgia loses to Boise but then upsets SC…..then loses to Florida (because Florida has a better team and better coaches)…..but still wins the East because of their, in relative terms, easy SEC schedule. Florida loses to LSU down there at night, loses to Bama in a close game in THE SWAMP (although I think there will be a possibility of an upset at night), and SC in Columbia…..and finishes 3rd in the East because of their very difficult SEC schedule. Then, in 2012, Florida goes undefeated in the SEC with Driskell and Brissett at the helm…..and once again contends to the NC title.

1. Weis did not coach for a decade at ND.
2. He had a terriffic offense at ND….but no defense. And they did not have great talent there. They had average talent. Florida has and will have great talent for him to work with….on offense.
3. Weis won some bowl games at ND….something they had not been doing…..that is something postiive (and sent players to the NFL…another thing they had not been doing)….now that is positive.
4. New batch of talent at QB? What in the heck do you call Jeff Driskell, Jacoby Brissett, and Tyler Murphy…..all talented freshmen QBs at Florida? Driskell and Brissett were two of the top QBs coming out of HS last year.,…and Murphy was a top duel threat QB coming out of the East two years ago.
5. You just fell a few words short of my word post with your post….by the way. Better check your ink….although, the last time I checked, posting did not require a connection to a printer.
6. Florida is paying Weis a lot….and it has nothing to do with his weight, which is gene and medical related and not food related (and Weis has lost a lot of weight working with Florida’s S&C coach already. And he is worth every dollar they are paying him. Bobo vs., Weis? Are you kidding!!!
7. If Florida beats Georgia this year, it will have everything to do with how Weis coaches up one, John Brantley, and the backup freshmen QBs this year….and the entire offense for that matter…..because Florida has a terriffic D this year. And remember, Florida beat Georgia with Addazio as its OC….and no OC was worse than Addazio last year….not even Bobo.
8. It is Meyer…..not Meyers……and Meyer….not Meyers….and he was not the OC at Florida….he was the head coach. Addazio was the OC…..and I am certainly glad he is now at Temple and Weis is at Florida.

I rarely post through emotion……and try to be real. Read my above post to see. The quality of talent between Florida and Georgia has never been that different….as it is this year. The difference has always been coaching….as I think it will be this year. Unfortunately, for Florida this year, it will also have something to do with Georgia’s SEC schedule and Florida’s SEC schedule. Georgia wins because of that and their upset of SC in game two. But you better win this year…..because Florida returns to a normal SEC schedule and will be extremely talented next year….and extremely well coached….in year two under Muschamp and Weis.

The only way CMR survives a 9-3 record is if the record is good enough to get to Atlanta in December. 9-3 and no trip to Atlanta in December will more than likely be the end for him in Athens.
The schedule is favorable and the last 2 years have been awful. The East is down for the most part, UT and UF will not be down forever. WE DO NOT FACE THE BIG BOYS FROM THE WEST. This year is it for CMR, its Atlanta or bust.

No way the current AD at Georgia fires Richt with any kind of 9-3 record. But I could see it with a 8-4 or 7-5 record and a loss to SC and Florida. But no way with 9-3 and a bowl trip. You don’t fire coaches with that….or you are a bad AD. Plus, he would have improved from 6-7 to 9-3 and just came of two good recruiting classes. No way.

Boykin used Twitter for the post….and did not text the coach directly. Muschamp has made a rule against Florida players using Facebook and Twitter…..for a reason….at Florida. All of you columnist are predictable every year. Georgia will NOT lose to Florida this year. Reason: new coach, new offense they don’t have the players to run, lost their best defensive players. Georgia will NOT lose to Tenn. Don’t see any athletes at Tenn yet that will compare to Georgia’s. Georgia is also going to beat the most over hyped team that doesn’t play anyone like an SEC team to start the year. What happened to Boise State in 2005 will happen this year. They were hyped to beat us in our own house and see what happened to them then 48-13.

In the same boat…….?????
In the same boat………..6-7 last year and only returning 7 starters vs. 8-5 and losing only three major players (Pouncey, Gilbert, and Jenkins)?
In the same boat…….
A roster filled with 3 straight top 10 classes (I think) vs. a roster filled with 3 straight top 10 classes…but ranked higher every year than Georgia until last year (I think)
In the same boat…….Liberty Bowl loss to UCF and scored only 7 points against them vs. Outback Bowl (New Year’s Day Bowl by the way) win over Penn State and scored over 30 points.
In the same boat……Florida beat Georgia the year Meyer took the entire year off and Addazio was the OC the entire year…..and the year Florida had a terrible DC who had the Martinez bend but do not break approach to D…..and still beat the Dawgs….because they did not break somehow.
In the same boat……..ESPN was also touting Brantley as a potential Heisman candidate and future NFL star last summer based on his play in spring and summer practice last summer….just like me….and we were wrong.
In the same boat…….You still have Bobo as your OC and Florida has Weis at its OC. Like comparing a canoe vs. a Steamboat….both is size of body and stenght of football mind.

Tampa Gator, Florida kicked it’s best cover corner off the team. Several of those players in those top 10 teams have transferred. You are now running a pro style offense with no established FB scat backs who can’t run between the tackles, shorthanded at experienced WR’s, and no TE to speak of. You have also an experienced offensive line in a new offense. Florida has more problems that you will admit.

keery B……
1. Deonte Thompson at WR fits the pro style better than the spread style and is thriving in the new offense.
2. Quinton Dunbar (redshirt fr) will probably be on the all-freshmen SEC team at WR this year and fits the pro style offense perfectly with his good size (6′1 and 190), great hands (reportedly has not dropped a single ball in practice this spring or summer), and terrffic speed (4.3).
3. Jordan Reed at 6′5 and 255 will fit perfectly at tight end in the pro style offense….great speed, stength, and hands.
4. Chris Rainey ran out of the I-formation in high school and has been thriving running out of it this summer…..along with Jon Demps as a speed change of pace…..and Trey Burton (6′3 and 235) as the bruising back in the I-form on short yardage situations).
5. Burton will also be hard to deal with running out of the H-back postion, mainly catching the ball out of the backfield and blocking for Rainey, Demps, and Brown.
6. The OL is raving about playing in the pro style vs. the spread. “We get to knock people down now….and Matt Patchan is finally healthy and is a beast at RT.
7. The pro style best fits the skills of John Brantley…..and all reports are that he is thriving in it this summer…..and so is Jeff Driskell.
“Lost their best defensive players”
Florida lost only two very good players in Janoris Jenkins and Ahmad Black. Jenkins will be difficult to replace…..but Marcus Robertson may start as a freshman and has the same skill sets as Jenkins…and is bigger and faster…and a very talented Cody Riggs will be there as well….and is currently the starter…but may be a little too small and probably fits better in as the nickel back. Matt Elam will replace Black and will be even better than Black…..this year.
They lost two DE’s…..Trattou and Lemmens…..both of which will not be missed much and will be replaced by better players….Sharieff Floyd and Ronald Powell….soon to be SEC stars.
They also lost Will Hill at FS……who was don’t want to go to class, lazy jerk, did not play well, left school early….was not drafted or signed as a FA by the NFL……..and will not be missed…..and was replaced by Josh Evans at the end of the year. Josh will still be there and he is being pushed hard by an outstanding freshmen, Pop Saunders….both are better than Hill right now.
If you beat Florida this year……it will be because Brantley did not develop and Florida was forced to play a freshman at QB (like you guys last year)….and he will probably throw a key interception at the end of the game to cost the Gators the game…..like for you guys last year. That will be the only reason…..and maybe Florida being down from losing close games to Bama and LSU in previous weeks.

He is the OC at Florida now…..and Weis….believe it or not…..is one of the top offensive minds in ALL of football. Burry your head all you want. Weis will have a huge, postive impact at Florida….this year and for several years to come. He is a great offensive mind and coach. And, yes, he is overweight. tampagator…the offense that weiss will be running is not as simple as you may think. its mostly about timing and knowing your assignments( knowing who to block on blitzing linebackers and reading def secondary that brantly or anny player on the fla offense is used to) as far as runnnig the ball and you guys really dont have a back that is ready to handle the pro style offense. it will take time for your offense to click and really be albel to use all that talent. your defense will be good for sure but still young enough to make some mistakes that i think uga will take advantage off. the problem was not our offense last year but our defense in the 4th qt. just didnt finish out the game like they should have. i think you underestimate the pro style offense learning curve. its not simple and brantly confidence is a little shook right now.

None of the players who transferred were going to play much at Florida…..and one….Chris Martin….would not go to class or stop smoking pot. Not exactly Muschamp’s type of player. The other, Jenkins, would not stop smoking pot either. Let him do it at a small college in Alabama now.
No TE? Weis will disagree. Jordan Reed will be playing TE in the pros soon…..he is another Aaron Hernandez type player….but is bigger and faster….same great hands. You might remember him….so talented that he ran over your players in the wildcat formation last year. \
Shorthanded at WR and inexperienced at WR?
Deonte Thompson…..4th year starting at WR…and caught a key pass near the endzone against Georgia last year.
Chris Hammond – 3rd year starting at WR….and maybe the most consistent WR on the team.
Omaris Hines – 3rd year playing WR and caught two key passes against Georgia last year.
Andre Debose – the #1 WR coming out of HS a couple of years ago….and starting to play to his potential both as a WR deep threat and as a kick returner (two for TDs last year)
Solomon Patton…..another 5-star recruit starting to get it and make an impact both as a WR and on special treams.
and….probably the best of all……
Quinton Dunbar…..reshirt freshman who would have started last year if he had not sustained an injury the last week of summer practice. He will make the freshman all-SEC team this year.
I think you meant….”inexperienced OL”
LT – Xavier Nixon, Jr – former freshman all-SEC player and played hurt a lot last year.
LG – Kyle Kohane, Soph – not that experienced but Weis says he has a future in the NFL at guard.
OC – Jon Harrison, Soph – yes, not experienced, but is very good.
RG – Jon Halipio – Jr. – very experience and very good….as the guy who lined up against him in the Georgia-Florida game last year…..burried him and Trey Burton and Jordan Reed ran to the right side all day long.
RT – Matt Patchan – Jr. – experienced, but hurt a lot at Florida…healthy now and a beast of a RT.
Key back up….Chaz Green….the RT your coach wanted so badly, but is having a difficult time beating out Nixon and Patchan because they are so good. They also have the Weiner kid as a backup, and he was a starter at ND for 3 years in the Weis offense.
Think again.

According to Weis and the Florida players……..Brantley’s confidence has never been highter than it is right now…..and Weis says he complelely understands the offense (so much that Weis is letting him call all the audibles on the field)….and Weis has stated that he has full confidence….based on Brantley executing the offense in practice….for him to do that in games. Weis is also saying Driskell is almost ready to do the same. In the Weis offense, the QB has to be able to effectively read the defensive sets at the line of scrimmage and be able to execute the called play or audible to another to take advantage of the set. Weis says Brantley is doing that in practice at a high level. He just has to do it on Saturdays.

Got to love a homer Florida fan who last year spoke so far out of his rear that he predicted Florida would be just as good and repeated the fact that UF would be in the SECCG, beat Everyone, and all those freshmen signed to the best recruiting class 2009 would contribute and be great players. When in reality the upperclassmen had to slap those youngster around, the quarterback had a very hard time doing anything. UF slipped by Ohio, barely beat USF, and got spanked by MSU, Al, FSU, LSU, and had to hang on to beat Tennessee. However they did beat Georgia as they annually do.
Saying all that, they were and still are better than the UGA team that is one year removed from winning only one trophy. The Fulmer Cup. The losses to Colorado, USC, MSU, UCF all stand out as embarrassing. And now this dream team is going to save the program. What a laugher.
In the end, Florida is better than UGA, has a ton of deeper talent, and will once again beat UGA only to have the DC at UGA give the choke sign to himself and the entire UGA football squad.

Well, three losses in the five biggest games of the year, that would probably be it for the Mark Richt era at UGA.
The only way the boosters and alums remain happy is if UGA somehow backs into the SECCG at 6-2 and then upsets the west rep and goes to the Sugar Bowl. If not, UGA will be 2 for 5 or 2 for 6 in big games and relegated to either the Chick-Fil-A or Capital One Bowl. Not a successful season for a school that wants to be an annual BCS contender.
And Florida is a must. Lose to UT and UF and you are 5-3 and 4-2 in the SEC and probably staring at 3rd place. Sanford Stadium will be 2/3 full vs NMSU and UK. Check the message boards and radio call-in shows if that scenario play outs.

1. UF beat a 10 win Miami of Ohio team (not Ohio U) 34-12 despite 7 snaps over the QB’s head during the game.
2. UF “barely beat” an 8 win USF team 38-14, the same team that beat the Canes of Miami during the regular season and then beat Clemson in a bowl game
3. UF got totally “spanked” by MSU by the total runaway score of 10 to 7….a real spanking….more like an exhibit of total offensive stupidity by then Florida OC, coach Adazzio during the game.
4. LSU totally “spanked” Florida by the lopsided score of 33-29 by scoring late and then stopping a last second drive by Florida, with Florida’s punter missing a potential game winning FG because the FG kicker was injured (which didn’t happen in the Georgia game).
5. And Florida had to “hang on” to beat Tennessee by the closest of scores……31-17….even though Florida totally dominated the game in every facet of the game.
But…..you somewhat correct.
Bama did spank Florida, as did FSU…….and Florida did beat Georgia.
Next time……do some research before posting your opinions and not facts……….and yes, just like most preseason polls and all the talking heads at ESPN, I did say and think Florida would do well last year….as well as Brantley. But I didn’t count on Meyer not doing much coaching last year and Addazio taking Florida’s offense back into the 1960s. Fortunately, Meyer realized he had lost his desire to continue coaching at this time……and Addazio is better suited running that 1960s offense up at Temple as their head coach….and the Gators now have a highly motivated head coach and perhaps the best offensive mind in football calling plays in Gainesville.
P.S……..not a nice day to be on a Florida beach…..very hot, very windy.

If you are a Florida fan and do not like what is said on these blogs by UGA fans why do you consistently come back? Tampa Gator must be a 50-60 year old Gator fan who remembers what it was like pre 1990 and all the pain he felt at getting owned by UGA. Now thank goodness for the internet he now has a place to act like a tool and vent all those years of frustration out. This is the only logical conclusion I can come up with, because why would you troll a blog every day of an opponent you have beaten 18 out 21 times unless you have a deep routed memory of how it felt back in the day when we where your Yankees to your Pedro Martinez. Befuddling to say the least, as if UGA fans give two cents what your thoughts are or any other none UGA supporter of how you think our season will go.

Tampa Gator is an idiot. Just for your information, UGA moved their 5 star safety to L.B. so he would be closer to the line of scrimmage, and he is already preseason all-sec. Your guy has played 2 years and he is finally preseason all conference pick. So that tells you all you need to know about who is the better player. And the 2 corners you talked about for Fl. haven’t made a big play yet. Riggs was a freshman last year, and didn’t make any big plays, and the other guy nobody has ever heard of him. As for your allworld freshman that you think can cover anyone, he was behind the best cover corner in the country that UGA signed, who happens to be playing some wide receiver, and Swann was the #3 corner in the country, so dont think your guy is better than either of UGA’s freshman. But that is the way most fl. fans always think. As for your all world 5 star d.l. Neither one of them did anything last year, and UGA has a 5 star D.E. that had to play noseguard last year, that will be a force at his natural position now. Also, Geathers is a 350 lb. nose that Florida has no one on campus that can block especially your pathetic center. You had better hope one of the Pouncey boys comes back to play, because that will be a mismatch. As for your all world tackles, i would take Abry Jones and Tyson anyday against these guys. As for your great linebackers, Jarvis Jones was one guy that Meyer died to get, but he went to USC, now he is a force at UGA, he is better than anyone FL has on it’s roster, if you don’t believe me ask old Urban. Both O.L’s are lacking depth, but UGA has 3 starter that are seniors that will play on Sundays. Don’t think FL. has but maybe one O.L that you can say the same thing about. If you don’t believe me, check out Mel Kipper’s #1 senior O.L, and you might find out it is Cordy Glenn. Also, Jones the center is on the Remmington list of best O.L,and Bean Anderson is a 340 lb. mauler at the other tackle. Good luck with comparing your bunch of O.L’s with UGA’s. But neither team has any depth, so if someone gets hurt. Both teams will be in trouble. So i noticed you didn’t compare the tightend position, and can’t say i blame you, because that is a mismatch. Florida has no one to compare to Charles, or Aaron White, and throw in Jay Rome and it is a total mismatch. As far as w.r’s, neither team has a big time play maker, and this guy you keep talking about Dunbar, never heard of him, and probably never will. He will never be better than our 5 star freshman Mitchell. So go wish all you want about dunbar. LOL!! Then we come down to Q.B, and you are hanging your hat on Charlie Weiss, that is funny. He might be a good O.C., but there is and old saying you might want to get accustomed to hearing, you can’t make chicken soup out of chicken shit. And that is what you have a q.b., while we have the best freshman Q.B. in the country returning who also is all-sec preseason. So your analysis is pretty pathetic, have another drink of that orange cool-aid. Even you with your baked brain should understand this.

So, let me get tbis straight. I’m supposed to be impressed by a Boise team that beat Virginia Tech, narrowly. That team the blue ponies beat then turns around and loses to a D-2 William and Mary team. Then Boise beats , frikkin Idaho in a gymnasium. Then they lose to a Nevada team because the kicker soils himself on ESPN Thursday night. Not one game last year, did UGA lose badly. They were in every game. Including three losses to the representatives in the SEC championship. Hell, we lead by two touchdowns over Auburn until Fairly pulled his shiv. One loss to the SEC representative in the Sugar Bowl. The Broncs will only impress me when they play a real schedule. Beating ONE good team out of twelve does not get a sniff from me.

The last time we saw Richt, his team was losing to UCF in the Liberty Bowl. Unacceptable. And Bulldogs fans can’t like his 2-8 mark against Florida. Richt is a great guy, but things are trending down in Athens. In the past two seasons, Georgia is 14-12 overall and 7-9 in the SEC; Richt’s predecessor, Jim Donnan, was fired after consecutive 8-4 finishes in 1999 and 2000.

If we start 2-0 (it’s possible) then we have a monstrous season. Better than Richt has had probably. I can’t wait until Saturday. Boise’s gonna get it. All UGA has heard is how Boise is coming to Georgia and beat them in front of their home crowd, how fast Boise is, their record, (but funny, nowhere have I seen Boise’s record vs. the SEC mentioned.) UGA is tired of hearing it. They’ll be fired up and they might get an unsportsmanlike penalty early on. I hope not, but if they do, so be it. I want us to get in Kellen Moore’s head early and make him 2nd guess what he’s doing whether that’s hitting him extremely hard, or picking off a pass early.

The vols don’t beat UGA and neither does little Boise State; they don’t have the talent UGA has, neither of them. At some point, the players at UGA have to win the games they are supposed to win. These are 2 such games. So, too, would be Missy State and Auburn. As for South Carolina, who lost 5 games last season, when they are the measure of our UGA football program, our program is in serious need of review. I do see Alabama CLOCKING us. I do see us playing yet again, another, really sorry football team in a bowl game, again.

Not when it is Boise State smurfs and their BS that somehow the best win they ever have ever had is winning over 3-loss football team. Way too much at stake for Mark Richt and his “coaching staff.” Nothing to gain and everything to lose. I also am looking forward to being right about Oregon, whom I see much like I see Boise State. Both football programs go on NCAA PROBATION. Both teams have 1 win over a team who finished in the AP Poll Top 25 every year, if that. Both run their mouths. Both have blogs where only positive stuff can be said about their teams.
So, no.
January 1 is college football OD however; as we haven’t even been one of the 10 games that day. Monday now and Saturday we and LSU play. Both will win. Zach Mettenberger might see the field, if not that game, certainly the next one or so. I know he got shot at; and what he did in Valdosta town center. I still would like to see him do well in a football game to validate my own opinion on him, just like I would have loved to see DJ Shockley not having been injured his 1st year here on Atlanta Falcons. In fact, it will be quite a story what happens with former players who might have played vs Boise State, all 26, who will not but will be playing football however.
Here’s to you Boise State smurfs. Never have I so wanted to win a game than this one. That’s not OD; it’s just plain and simply a direct answer to some football team who thinks beating 3-loss football teams is the real true measure of how great they are. Those are just Top 25 teams, with 3 losses; and Mark Richt has beat 17 of those type wins in just the last 10 years.
A lot at stake, for us. We cannot afford to lose to the likes of Boise State – not again, after what we have been doing against such CUPCAKES.

How do you know so much about everything that’s anything to do with UF football? If you’re not a member of the coaching staff – or hold a position in the Athletic Department, you must be a groupie or a stalker.
Isn’t it about time for you to paint your body orange and blue and sit buck naked, howling at the moon, in the back 40 at your brother’s ranch [which is right next door to Charlie Weiss' new house?].
Who are you?
I admit you are a guilty pleasure of mine. Can’t look at a blog at a blog about UGA football without scanning the posts for the contributions of the dreaded ‘”Tampa Gator”. You rarely disappoint.
I think you’re on retainer for both Bradley and Schultz. You should be. After what they write, your words are the next I look for.
Oh, by the way, how’s your 50 foot high, granite monument to Tim Tebow coming? Have you hired a sculptor? Did you get approval from the local zoning commission yet? First things first.
I hear the design for the statue is yours. It’s all hush-hush, but word has it that the statue will have kind of combination of Norse god and Washington crossing the Delaware motif.
Good luck with that.

All you Murray haters need to know one thing, he didn’t lose the games to winning record teams, he had good numbers, The difference in most of those games was the Defense, Yes he had a terrible game against FLA but they still had a chance to win, this all comes down to the OC calling the plays, not Murray. GA wins against Boise, SC is another story, lets see how GA plays the first game.

Delusional. UGA will not beat SC. Spurrier loves to beat UGA and has a far superior team. Murray is not Andrew Luck. He had a nice freshman year with AJ Green, Kris Durham and Orson Charles. Now he just has Orson Charles and no running game or should I say a running game pinning its hopes on a 180 pound true freshman.
Only 2 more weeks until reality sets in. This will be the last Monday UGA can claim its going undefeated.

9-3 is a bit rediculous. It’s also sort of unfair to build up everyone’s hopes in the midst of a rebuilding year. But I know you have to sell papers.
I think UGA has made a few bad decisions in the past that will continue to haunt them this season. Namely not replacing Bobo and hiring Grantham instead of Manny Diaz. Diaz was a wunderkind at State and now is at Texas. That guy is a future head coach at a big time program, book it. They finally rid themselves of a strength and conditioning coach who obviously had phoned it in the last few years. But I’m dubious of hiring a green horn to come in and really be effective while learning on the job. Either way one off season is probably too short to truly change the culture of a team. Lest ye be reminded of the pictures of UGA players partying down popping up on facebook only an hour after their flight returned from Boulder last year.
Regardless the Real Bulldogs from the SEC West will enjoy a long awaited victory in Sanford Stadium. However it must be noted that prior to conference expansion Ms State and Georgia were not regular opponents. Therefore the time period of last win in Athens is a bit misleading (by a whole lot).

UGA will not lose to Tenn. UT has at least 1 to 2 more years before Dooley gets them back in the hunt. Its Georgia’s game to lose.

Jeff……The people saying Georgia will go undefeated have lost their marbles. However, I do disagree with you 1st two picks. I think they should be reversed. I think all the emotion and having something to prove on Saturday night carries the Dawgs through against Boise. I think Boise gets beat in the “Neutral” site game and we don’t have to hear about them the rest of the season. However, I think S. Carolina has too much and beat Georgia in week 2 BUT Georgia still wins the East because S. Carolina does their traditional late season fade.

I see a Georgia team with immense talent. I hope the coaching staff can instill some willingness as well as ability to use the talent to play Georgia football. I did not observe that in a single game last year and it was seriously frustrating.

Wow, 9 games? That owuld mean beating at least 2 ranked teams in 1 year right? Considering we were 0-6 against winning teams last year, let’s lower the bar, how about 7-6 for starters and 1 win against a winning team?

The defense is now comfortable with new scheme, the reason it hurt when aj was gone is because the playbook revolved around him but now we have depth at reciever, we have depth in defense, we have an experienced qb and number 1 rb and samuels and thomas.
The only team on the schedule that I see that is even in competition with uga is south carolina. Florida will be down, Boise is good but not as good as some might think, tennessee is nothing special, gt is way down, auburn lost half its team. If we do lose it will only be to south carolina.

IMO, richt could stand a loss to FL and/or SC but NOT a combination of TN, FL and or SC.. My reasoning is that there is just too much talent in Athens and too much youth and 2nd year staff in Knoxville. A win over the smurfs would be huge especially while dressed like Transformers/85 IROC Z Camaro but it won’t fix those rival losses.. So, here in Roswell, we’re pulling for the dogs to beat both SC an FL so richt can stick around a bit longer while the Dooley’s gets comfy in Big Orange Country..

Dawg Man I doubt Tennesssee, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, etc are trembling at the thought of playing the Georgia Bulldogs. The Georgia Bulldogs last year could not beat the Colorado Buffaloes before Hawkins a head coach with 0 winning seasons at Colorado was fired, and they lost to UCF and were unable to score even one td. Only Six points With UCF getting their first bowl game win.
I’m not saying the UG Dawgs will be crap but I would be really surprised for the Dawgs to be one of the best teams in the SEC East.

Also Cody the Vols have Tyler Bray can throw the ball, Poole is a terrific running back, plus Hunter. 2011 with Bray starting the Vols offense could score more than 21 points in each game. Also the I know it’s Tennessee the UG Dawgs have not owned the Vols while the Tide, Gators, LSU TIgers have.
