OK Cam, while you're up at the dais, somebody has a proposition for you. (Brant Sanderlin/AJC)
(Originally published April 25, 2011, at 12:01 p.m.)
(UPDATE II at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 26: Received an email from the folk(s) at CamNewtonLieDetector.com, who claim this is a legitimate offer. They declined an interview with me but, according to the email, will be conducting two interviews this week with ESPN and Yahoo! Sports. Details below.)
Maybe you believe Cam Newton and think everybody should just leave him and Auburn alone.
Maybe you don’t believe Cam Newton and are convinced he and possibly Auburn got away with something last season.
But are you willing to put up $1 million to prove your suspicions? Well, somebody is – or at least claims to. There is now a website called CamNewtonLieDetector.com. The author of the website proposes, “An Open Challenge To Cam Newton.” Newton will be paid $1 million if he can pass the, “4 Questions College Football Fans Want Answered” (that’s a headline on the site).
Before going into more detail, it’s worth noting that I have attempted to contact the site through both the phone number and email address listed and have yet to hear back. I don’t really have an attorney so I couldn’t do that, “Have my guy call your guy thing.”
The phone number listed (302-284-6213) comes up as an unpublished number in Felton, Delaware, in a reverse white pages search. I’m not aware of an SEC fan base in Felton, Delaware, maybe there’s a secret pocket group of Alabama, Georgia or Florida fans there. (They’re everywhere!)
♦
UPDATE I: Somebody from the website returned an email to me. They sent the following note, but left it unsigned.
Jeff, we’ll be happy to do an interview but are in discussions with a
major national outlet for first interview. Our offer is real. We are guys
on the West Coast in our 40s who love college sports and are sickened by
the integrity issues permeating the system. We are in discussions to do a
similar concept with college basketball. Please contact the Cam camp as
the ball is in their court. We’ll be in touch after this first interview.
UPDATE II: Here’s today’s email, detailing the website’s planned interviews. The author also has a special message for Auburn fans.
Media Requests for camnewtonliedetector.com
info@camnewtonliedetector.com
Tuesday, April 26, 2011
Thank you for your interest, but we will only be doing two media requests: ESPN Radio Southern California (Thursday 8:40) and Yahoo Sports “Dr Saturday.”
If we proceed with a college basketball concept, we will let you know.
To the Auburn fans sending “energized” emails, I’ll personally never forget the atmosphere of your stadium that August day several years ago and the warmth and southern hospitality of the Auburn people. I’d like to keep that memory of Auburn foremost in my mind. The vastly unequal, unjust and highly political system permeating college athletics to the benefit of some programs and the detriment of others is our concern.
So what do you think?
♦
Meanwhile, here’s the challenge, directly from the website:
Attention Cam, pass a professionally administered lie detector test
by answering “No” to these 4 questions..and $1,000,000 is yours.1. Prior to signing with Auburn, were you aware your father was “shopping” you to Mississippi State or any other school?
2. Did you tell Dan or Meghan Mullen that you signed with Auburn because of the money because you truly believed Auburn had paid for your commitment?
3. Did anyone on the Auburn coaching staff/athletic department instruct you how to answer questions from the NCAA by lying or avoiding the truth?
4. Did you or your family ever receive any impermissible benefits from Auburn?
The TRUTH Matters
Cam, have your attorney contact our attorney to work out the mutually agreed upon details: Email:info@camnewtonliedetector.com. Call: 302-284-6213.
Is this legit? I dunno. Probably not. Besides, Newton may be the first pick in the NFL draft, so I really don’t think he needs the $1 million, even if he thought he could pass. Wouldn’t shock me though if ol’ Cecil “Huggy Bear” Newton tried to figure out some way to make a buck off this.

There’s a MUCH easier question is to ask.
Just ask Pastor Cecil Newton the following question:
Pastor Newton:
“Sir, your church’s very own Chief Financial Officer, Bobbie Blandburg, has already stated in the NY Times that she has no idea where th emoney came form to pay for the $60,000 in repairs mandated by the City of Newnan.”
So Pastor Newton, just one questions to ask Sir:
“From whom did you obtain the $60,000 for the needed repairs?”
When this question is answered, it will be DOOMSDAY for Auburn.
The countdown to DOOMSDAY for Auburn continues.

1. Prior to signing with UGA, were you aware your father, Bobby Bowden was “shopping” you to UGA or any other school?

To those saying that this is over and to move on, I contend that this issue is far from over because the investigation is ongoing. I wont’ be satisfied until then. College football and championships are still supposed to about honor. In this particular case, there are far to many indicators to not think something was going on. Most of the negative vibe on here comes from Dawg fans who cannot for the life of them comprehend or acknowledge that UGA’s program has slipped into the middle of the pack. Their remedy is to take it out on Auburn or Alabama or South Carolina and others. I have been involved in SEC football since the early 60’s and anyone with any credible awareness knows that The University of Georgia base (both alumni and fans) are the biggest winners and the poorest losers in the conference. No other institution comes close. Example: It took about 48 hours after the poor showing against UCF for the base to start beating the drums of “a new attitude” or “dream team” or whatever else makes them feel good. The “feelgood” stuff handed out by the base is always the same…………….beat their drum and dump on everybody else. Well, it writes well on blogs but will not win the SEC.

I would be very interested to know how much money is made on high school athletes from people with no ties to them? Would be interesting to know the vast amounts recruiting services, AAU tournament directors and coaches and all make. How many people would allow others to make money on their kids without collecting a cent? Hypocracy.

Herschel will be given similar questions such as: Did your momma really get a new house when you signed with UGA? … or … Did your Momma & Daddy get $50,000 cash (that was a lot back then) when you committed to UGA?
Actually, it doesn’t need to be a winner take all, there will be enough $$$ to go around and they may want to contribute a portion or all of their take to their favorite charity (or Athletic Dept).

University of Alabama football program made around $150 Million Profit over 3 years. The Players got none of that. I played college football and got the crap beat out of my body, some of my team mates had it worse. They had bad knees, headaches, broken legs and more, and they wer not paid a penny. For anyone who thinks that a young man should put his life/health on the line so that a University and Coaches can make Millions and the player gets nothing, unless he makes it to the NFL, then you should go play instead of watching for a few years. If Cam Newton secretly was given $2 Million while at Auburn, he earned every penny of it.

Shocked! Shocked, I say, that big time college football would ever entice a player in any way. And to think that a family member might try to benefit from that. This is all about drawing lines, and them lines is mighty fuzzy. The days of football student athletes went out with leather helmets. Not being cynical. Just realistic. The best athletes that deliver the most wins and the highest revenue come at a price. That price usually involves some compromise of principles and eventually, when we don’t see the lines, loss of integrity. Whatever Auburn and Cam may have done, the rest of the SEC has come pretty close to doing, too. Let’s punish the bad guys, but don’t be hypocrites. Give up the righteous indignation. It smells bad.

Dunwoody Mom I think a lot of the venom tossed in Cam’s direction has little to do with him or if he knew what his Daddy was trying to do…what I and a lot of folks I think is just so strange that Daddy admitted he tried to shop Cam, the SEC has a rule that if a representative for a player even tried to do that the player is NOT eligible to play…however some how the NCAA came in and ruled he could play and I guess that trumped the SEC rule?? Never got that part figured out..I think Cam is one of the top 5 college players I’ve ever seen, and I wish him good luck in the NFL…unless he is found out to have cheated and it costs Auburn..the idea that Reggie Bush cheated and USC is paying for his cheating and he walks away with not penalties is a complete mockery.

Tressel is in deep doo doo. Something about SIGNING papers that stated all players were eligible, when, he infact knew that they were not. IF you thought the Bruce Pearl tragedy was comical just wait for the Jim Tressel farce that is unraveling now.

BfromtheE…not race-baiting at all my wife is white, my father is white….not at all! I would just like to see issues given equal concern from the AJC. We have not heard anything more about the Big Ben case from the AJC, a great report would be getting in touch with that young college student and her family to figure out just what happened and why she refused to cooperate. Or why does the NFL want to include HGH in its drug testing and are the rumors that many of the players are using it including several of the Falcon players with word that Ryan is one of them. That in my opinion is getting to some truths that fans would LOVE to know!

I am going to predict that Cam turns down the $1 million since he is about to get $20 million. Simple math. Bigger number wins.
I am also going to predict that the SEC run of national titles ends in 2011.
Bama does not have a QB
Neither does LSU
Arkansas will win the west but will lose twice.
East offers no national title contender.
I also predict that 2011 becomes the year of the good guy in college football. People like Jimbo fisher, Brady Hoke, Mark Richt, Bob Stoops and Mack Brown will have tremendous years and will win the right way.
We need this to wash the Newton/Tressel/chizik/Pryor taste out of our mouths from 2010.

@ Najeh Davenpoop…..WOW! Great point and yes Warren Moon is correct. I believe that Cam is the best QB if not the best player period in the upcoming draft. Regardless of what happened, the fact that the kids shows that he can both perform and lead under a lot of pressure is huge. That is what makes most QB’s flake out, they can’t handle the pressure. Sports writers tried to find flaws in the kids game, but it is simple if he was a flawed as they want to portray he would have lead Auburn to the NC. Auburn did what they did because of Cam, place any other QB there and they don’t win it all! No matter if it was Mallett or Taylor those kids could not get it done, period!

Better lsiten-up all you Auburn & SEC fans.
Better be preparing yourselves for the DOOMSDAY that’s coming.
Right now, the NCAA is preparing to throw the Big10’s “SIGNATURE” school,
Ohio State, and Head Coach Jim Tressel under the NCAA bus for “violations.”
WHY? Were the violatins really that bad?
Why is the NCAA so aggressively pursuing what seems like a (relatively speaking) trivial matter?
The answer to that questions should scare the hell out of Auburn & SEC,
Heres’ why.
The NCAA is going to make a “public spectacle” out of investigating and penalizing Ohio State to show PROOF that they are being objective, even-handed and non-discriminatory towards ANY team,
including Ohio State.
So, why would the NCAA need to go thru the “public exercise”
of throwing Ohio State under the bus?
Here’s when DOOMSDAY arrives on The Plains.
When the NCAA is done publicly blasting Ohio State to hell,
the NCAA is going to turn its sights on Auburn.
MARK IT DOWN: Auburn is going to receive the full wrath of the NCAA.
And when the NCAA blasts Auburn into football abyss, NOBODY will be able to
say that the NCAA singled-out Auburn or another SEC school based on ANY bias.
Very soon, the NCAA is going to aggressively re-assert their control of college FOOTBALL athletics by implementing a brand new model/process of compliance, including how the NCAA will henceforth apply penalties to violations.
The most significant new rule will be the assessment and enforcement
of FINANCIAL PENALTIES for violations. No longer will the NCAA just settle for limits on scholarships, recruiting trips, and phone calls, etc.
With the application of FINANCIAL PENALTIES, universities will now have the responsibility to agrressively patrol for and PREVENT violations, or receive severe financial penalties directly to the university. No uiversity President is going to allow their Athletic Department to go out-of-control when there are serious financial risks at stake.
Auburn and the SEC got paid over $17 Million for playing in the BCS Title Game.
Look for the NCAA to make Auburn & SEC to pay a lot of that back to the NCAA.
Pay it back, or get an SMU-style “Death Penalty.” Neither Auburn nor SEC Commish
Mike Slive will have any choice but to pay it.
Folks, this isnt specualtion. The NCAA has already stated this is the direction they’re going.
The NCAA has made it clear they are STILL investigating Auburn and Cam Newton.
The NCAA is going to drop the hammer on Ohio State.
Then, the NCAA is going to drop an aircraft carrier on Auburn.
The penalties imposed on Auburn will be the next closest
thing to SMU’s infamous Death Penalty.
The NCAA is going to make a lasting example out of Auburn. Guaranteed.
And, there will be severe “collateral damage” to the SEC.
The ONLY question that remains is: When will the NCAA blast Auburn?
Before September 1st. Guaranteed.

The NCAA won’t force OSU to fire Tressel and they certainly won’t do it on their own. If they would’ve fired him, he’d be gone already. They would look like even bigger fools to do it now when they knew all of this info months ago. As far as Urban goes, it really doesn’t matter where he coaches. That’s his decision. Whoever hires him needs to be prepared for it to be a short run. When he truly puts forth the effort he’s one of the best, but it seems to take it’s toll on him physically. He’s not ever going to be like Joe Paterno or Bobby Bowden. Speaking of Paterno, that would be a great place for him to go when he retires.

WDE nope I would not, in fact jack butt my brother wen threw that and had his day in court and was cleared but still have people on his tail over it. The fact is he did not want his day in court, so it was arranged that he did not. And once again I am bi-racial my father is white and so is my wife. I believe in equal justice period! My mother and father are the most loving parents, they went threw so much because they chose to be together and my siblings and I also had our fair share of trouble because we are bi-racial living in GA. For some reason, some people refuse to treat others like human beings. We are all Human, we are not of another species but you would think that is the case. The only one, if you are a Christian that spreads hate and lies is the Devil….so ask yourself the question which one are you? God and those that call themselves Christians (Those that desire to be like Christ, which was not a race hating, murderous person at all!) love all people as we are instructed to. My father was beaten by what he thought was a group of his friends when he started dating my mother and for over 15 years had some in his own family that disowned him over his choice to love the woman he feel in love with. So trust me WDE, I am as fair as they come! I served in the U.S. Marine Corps and it was even noted in my evaluations that all of my Junior Marines respected me so much for that, my commanders loved the fact that I treated everyone with respect and was very effective as a leader. I do not see race but do understand that it is a hurdle that in 2011 we still find ourselves crossing in this country. When some hears me over the phone they think I am an educated white man ( I am educated) but when they see I have light tanned skin with straight hair, more black facial features you should see the response I get. The fact that all of your cheating players got to play in the bowl game is proof positive that the NCAA is a sham. Everyone has to follow the rules or pay the consequences…except the cheaters at OSU they can play if they promise to come back next year.

For those who think this is racially motivated – absolutely wrong. Mark Ingram won the heisman and then the national championship with Alabama and there has been no bad press about him. He is a stand up guy who has strong character. Cam Newton on the other hand, shows no school pride (one semester?) and very questionable if any character. I think the NCAA is still investigating quietly – Reggie Bush??? I wouldn’t be surprised if Cam goes the way of Michael Vick in some regard.

Granted, Herschel paid it off with money from Trump in ‘83. Regardless, how many times has Herschel been arrested? What about Bo? Emmit Smith? Tebow? That’s right these 4 have better talent than Cam along with a lifetime of better character and to my knowledge have never been arrested. Little Cameron was arrested 10+ times while in Gainesville! Granted most were for moving violations and then the felony arrest. Eventhough most charges were dropped he displayed a pattern of behavior that was in total disregard for authority and rules of decency. Where there is a pattern there is a predictor of future behavior!

There is no doubt he is a talented qb at the college level but he used Auburn to the max and I think embarrassed their program. Enjoy the moment Auburn, you are no powerhouse like Alabama. 13 national championships for Bama vs. 1957 (shared title) and 2011 (questionable ethical problems). By your record alone, next championship for Auburn should be about 2065

Supposedly, a few 40 year old guys from the West Coast, (most likely Oregon), want Cam Newton to take a lie detector test for $1 million. Well first off, if they are honestly dumb enough to think that a possible first or second round draft pick would put his future in jeopardy for a million dollars, they have another think coming. Second, his college career is over; and unfortunately, Auburn’s probably is too, for next year at least. If I was him, I would not let a few pathetic 40 year olds who spend their salaries on collegiate athletes try to destroy my legacy.

Brian Jennings, I agree with you but not because Allbarn or Cam did nothing wrong. His dad violated and SEC Rule that expressly calls for his being dismissed from his sport. The SEC waived judgment and let the NCAA decide because they wanted two teams in the BCS. The NCAA gave a half a$$ed no suspension ruling because they wanted the best BCSC game possible. You do notice that the NCAA did not give the money back to the television station(s) they took it from when USC vacated their title, right? And if Allbarn ever does (which I doubt they will) the NCAA won’t have to give that money back either.

I don’t know if anybody in these 300-plus posts has mentioned the recent news that ‘the’ trial over in Alabama, where Uncle Milty McGregor is being charged with bribery and a bunch of other crap, has one of his fellow defendants agreeing to ‘testify’ against Milty. Don’t know what this could mean for that the trial, set for the first week in June, but I suspect that it could get us closer to finding out if the wire-tap evidence that’s supposed to be used in that trial, and that also includes proof of Milty’s participation in the Auburn pay/play mess. The reason, Mr. Jennings, that the NCAA has yet to produce ‘evidence’ on this is that they have to wait for the political bribery trial to run it’s course.
Of course if Uncle Milty ‘pleads out’ in return for the wire-taps to be burned under those dying oak trees, we may never know for sure.

Jeff, it would appear that you’re reading this so I’ve got a question that perhaps you could contribute to. To me the bigger issue about the Cam Newton thing…and the Mettenberger kid from Oconee County…and probably the kids from the Columbus High School that, supposedly, stole from player lockers…is that what you have are student-athletes that were, or will be, kicked out of or banned from SEC institutions, but for how long? In the case of Newton and Mettenberger all they had to do is go play, and I assume go to some classes, at a JC then they were welcomed back into ‘big-time’ SEC football by other Conference institutions as if nothing happened. In Cam’s case he won the Heisman and the NC…Mettenberger is gonna probably be starting at QB at LSU sometime in the near future…and the kids from Columbus, who knows – except they won’t be at Georgia.
My point is what’s the point in disciplining these kids if all they have to do is go ‘hang-out’ and play a little football for a year, or less? I say the SEC should institute a rule that anybody dismissed from a member institution for cause cannot be admitted to any other member institution for, at least, two seasons – and I mean admitted, not just not allowed to play…and if they could get the NCAA to go along and ban them from participating at all, then maybe we could expect a little better behavior…now if they can get the NFL to throw in on the deal, we might really have something.

@Dirty Dawg, Cam was in “good standing”, both as a student and athlete with Florida when he transferred to Blinn.
Before Newton could enroll at Blinn, however, Franchione and school officials conducted their own inquiry into the situation at Florida.
“We have a (National Junior College Athletic Association) policy that you can’t take a student-athlete that is not eligible to go back to the institution he was at,” Rehr said. “So, upon him leaving Florida, he was still in good standing as a student, and he was still in good standing with the (football) program.

No Dunwoody Mom I hadn’t heard that there was nothing on those wire-taps about Auburn….what I had heard/read was that nothing from the wire-taps would be made public until it was determined if they were going to be used in the June trial…if anything else has been released about it – other than AU fans/attorneys/PR people say so – then it has yet to be reported in any paper that has it’s information available to a Google search. All I’ve ever gotten from my AU friends is that ‘all we know is that he was eligible at the time he was played and they they had no indication that he should be withheld from participation’.
So I’d like to know just who associated with the FBI and/or the Alabama political bribery case has come forward and claimed that there’s ‘nothing to see (or hear) here’.

The only reason I can think of that a lying, cheating, stealing, law-breaker like Cam Newton could have remained ‘in good standing’ by the University of Florida at the time they dismissed him, is that they had either been castrated by threats of lawsuits that could have revealed information they didn’t want to have revealed, or they simply lost their nerve. Either way, the kid’s behavior was reprehensible and needed to be more severely punished for that behavior than he was…and the same thing for the Mettenberger kid and the punks that were stupid enough to steal on a recruiting trip…geesh!

@JB – JB the players time is controlled by the coaching staff. There are some that come out with Engineering, Computer Science and other Degrees, but a lot of that depends on the program and the coaching staff. So many get used up and pushed aside, just look what happened to Cam Newton at Florida. He was being used as a tackling dummy, but he knew to leave. In the end, anything short of paying the players is not fair.

The players only get compensated with full scholarships, housing, and meal plans while having to deal with the unbearable task of playing the game they love? That is inexcusable? Seriously? I played rugby for free. Heck, I paid for it, in league and equipment dues as well as a herneated disk in my neck. And considering my injuries, the money I spent, and the time I spent as designated driver, I would do it ten times over. I don’t care if you played every position on the line for four years, man up and accept that you got a free education. I don’t care if you hurt… Men don’t need tampons. If you didn’t like the punishment, then you should have studied harder for an academic scholarship like the rest of us.

There is a reason why lie detector tests are inadmissible in a court of law. They are notoriously unreliable. The website and its premise reeks of desperation. Every accusation to date has failed to get the desired result, so they have now resorted to the “if you have nothing to hide” tactic.
Newton has nothing to gain by the offer. If he takes the test and passes, people will just call him a natural born liar (see post above). Better to simply ignore them move on with his life.

This is a golden opportunity for Newton, regardless if it’s legit or not and it has nothing to do with Cam or Cecil wanting the money.
First, Cam takes the challenge and pledges to pass the test and give the one million to a childrens hospital.
Taking the challenge and passing and then donating the money to charity would greatly improve cam’s image and it would go a long way in helping Auburn with it’s extremely tarnished image.
Legit or not, I don’t think Cam will take the challenge. What will their spin team come up with as an excuse? You can Bet ol Bobby Lowder is on the phone with his best NCAA lawyers to come up with the best excuse as to Cam not doing it.

Hey DMom, I gotta deal for you. If Carolina picks Cam first then I’ll keep my mouth shut about his sorry-a$$ past. The reason I’m up for that is that it’s my belief that Jerry Richardson, the Panthers’ owner, is way too ‘old school’ and way too much of a straight shooter to allow his ‘baby’ to be associated with the kind of punk that I believe Newton to be. Before Richardson will commit a be-jillion dollars to Cammy, he’ll have had his investigators – and friends in the NFL, FBI, et.al., scope this kid out and if there’s anything there, he’ll pass on the pick or trade it. So let’s just see.

The lies continued even when Cecil agreed not to attend any Auburn events and there he was on television hugging Cam at the BCS title game.

You know, I really do not know if Cam Newton took money, and I really do not care. What I do care about is the fact that he and his father and their actions have tarnished the SEC even further than we were already percieved by the rest of the nation.
The actions of many people in the SEC have reflected poorly on the conference. From arrest, some multiple times, to not meeting grades and classroom requirement, to graduation rates. If we are ranking our conference on sending players to the NFL then we are at the top of the food chain. But these are student athletes, and when student athletes are one and done then we are setting ourselves up for failure at some point.
Graduate your player, make them go to class, forget about paying players, it is not going to happen. If you paid players then players would want to form a union and you would see the same things happen in college that are happening in the NFL. Most schools do not make money when you factor in the non revenue sports that must be paid for. Put a stop to the one and dones, the programs that allow others besides parents, grandparents, or guardians from being involved with recruitment of players.
We have seen collegiate football take some major steps back in the past 18 months, the agents, the selling of merchandise by players, the lying to officials, the pay for play allegations and coaches lying or covering up for players violating rules. The behavior of the NCAA, coaches, assistants, street agents, boosters and parents have set a bad tone for players looking to sign a major college scholarship. The whole system is rotten and some major penalities must be handed out to set the tone for the next 10 years.

If he comes out on the short end of the stick, he gets no money and his supporters say, the test is not legal. If he were to pass it, the same would be said by those that believe he did it. He stands to make a lot more than a million dollars when he goes pro. So, If I were him, I wouldn’t do it. If it were that easy in the real world, the NCAA would have requested one you would think.

Personally I find it extremely difficult to believe he did not know what his dad was up to. His frame of mind after supposedly finding out certainly didn’t portray a person who felt like he had just been betrayed by his father. Most people would be depressed, upset, angry, if they realized their own father sold them out. But Cam? He sure was a happy go lucky type of dude for someone whose dad sold him like chattel. So that proves one of 2 things- 1- Either he knew all along and that’s why it doesn’t bother him or 2- He didn’t know but he has such low moral standards that this kind of behavior by his father doesn’t bother him whatsoever.

Why is it that so many folks get self-righteous when the benefit of another’s lie is notoriety and money? On a side note, I’m sure there are pop-ups related to that website for which someone is using the popularity of Cam Newton to push some product. No way does the person sponsoring the website actually believe that the kid would actually take them up on the offer when he’s days away from being a top pick in the NFL draft.

I guess the first question is…who would want to play for MSU in the first place. They are a small market SEC team which a mix of Conference USA and Big East talent. They were just pissed cuz Cam jumped them for the plains….now what went on between Cecil and MSU is obviously true…whether Cam knew about it is up in the air…but at the end of the day…does it matter…it’s over with. The fact of the matter is this situation goes on in college sports around the country…so Cam is just the poster boy for it right now because he was hands down the BEST player in CF last year…now had Auburn sucked last year and had a medicore record, nobody would care one way or the other. USF had a bunch of players on their roster a few years ago that were pretty much academically ineligible at most major institutions across the country, and they were winning…it’s all about money and politics people. The NCAA isn’t a morally conscious group of individuals either. They have to slap a couple of fines and sanctions here and there just to keep tails out of the fire. Do you think they really, sincerely care about the Cam situation or Coach Tressel and the OSU gang? Hell no! Those schools generate millions of dollars…of which the NCAA gets a cut…

To the originator of this great plan, I say outstanding idea!!! This would finally shed some light on a lot of things but a few changes first:
Arrange for the following individuals to show up and submit themselves to the same polygraph test and I am sure Cam would do the same. A few individuals that need to be added to the lie detector plan!!!
Dan Mullen
John Bond
Kenny Rogers
Urban Meyer
Nick Saban
Julio Jones
Trent Richardson
Peaches Winston (Foster father of Brent Calloway)
And for all my Georgia friends, ask Rodney Garner a few questions about why Terry Bowden ran him out of Auburn a few years ago. Trust me, he wont answer and you wont like the answer!
Everyone wants the truth until it impacts them, but I am certain that if this list of individuals would agree to the same test, we could all learn the truth. The funny thing about shining a light in a dark, cold room, all the roaches start to scurry for the dark, just make sure its not your room or your roaches!

Makes more sense if this is pursued by an Auburn fan…Give the test taker the questions beforehand? So there is no element of surprise? Cam can answer the questions without any emotional response. Passes the test because he’s not even listening. Auburn is cleared.

Jeff stated that he asked his editor if he wanted this put into the blog and his editor gave him the ok. Now at 10 pages and counting, looks like the editor accomplished his mission of more hits for the AJC website. Shrewd move there Jeff and your editor.

Jeff,
In disclosure, I’m an Auburn fan and Alum……….but,
clearly this challenge should be turned “back at ya”…..If these clowns are giving their first interview to a SoCal radio station, and they came to Auburn a few years ago (as U of Southern Cal did)…..THEY ARE CLEARLY USC FANS!!!…offer 1 million to Reggie Bush instead, and use that self-righteous stuff on yourselves!!

Oh, and Dr. Saturday is Matt Hinton’s college football blog, albeit, not a very good one. Kinda up there with “sportsbystupid”.

Dunwoody Mom, name more than one department in which Auburn is higher ranked than UGA in academics. Auburn is a step above Ole Miss and a step below Georgia Southern.
You know, I also laughed pretty hard when Bama blew that lead though I laughed harder when they poisoned your trees.

Come “voice in the desert”, Auburn was recently named the “smartest college town in the S.E.C”.
Part of that ranking takes into account the media Math and Reading SAT scores.

By the way, props to Clemson at #64 and of course, Tech at #35. If I had any ability in mathematics, I would be honored to attend Georgia Tech… Despite the fact that I despise their football program.

Lewis Grizzard, another UGA icon that the Barners never will understand and will never acknowledge how great he was.
January 2nd, 1984 “The time is 7:14 am but down in Texas it’s still 10 to 9.” Gary McKee morning show.
Winter 1985 “I invited the Russian basketball team over for dinner after the game vs Tech last night. They beat Tech and they wear red, they can’t be all bad.”

What was Grizzard great at other than being a UGA fan? His books were not too terribly amusing and I remember once he appeared on a “Designing Women” episode – he couldn’t act either.

Gosh, I think if I found so much wrong with the state of Georgia, I might consider a relocation. I am sure you would be much happier being part of the “FAMILY”, and close to your school of choice.

Bama has a better university… Hands down… 79th versus 85th… You paid for your children to be sent to a lesser university when UGA was not only better, but free… To say that Auburn has a better school is equivalent to saying that UGA had a better football season last year. 56th ranked versus 85th… If you can’t understand the numbers, then I’m afraid you did graduate from the Barn.

The second question needs to be reworded to be more clear and specific.
However, questions 1, 3 and 4 are acceptable polygraph questions.
Regarding the one comment about providing the questions BEFORE the polygraph exam:
ALL polygraph exams require that the examinee be advised of the exact wording of each question PRIOR to administering the exam. In Oklahoma (where I’ve been a licensed polygraph examiner since 1979), it is ILLEGAL for a polygraph examiner to ask ANY question which has not be reviewed word for word prior to the exam! (”Surprise” questions would invalidate the exam!)
IF Cam can truthfully answer “No” those questions, he could make some easy money!
IF he CANNOT truthfully answer “No” to those questions, he’d be wise to refuse the exam.
