Wasn’t it just a couple of years ago that Caleb King and Ealey were the RB’s that would carry UGA to the SEC title? Just sayin’ that you never know until they get there just how they will pan out. Best to not put the crown and all that pressure on Crowell just yet. Let him come in and adjust to college life and football before proclaiming him to br the next #34…

Its time to Washed-Up Ealey to go. On another note, who the heck names their child Washaun, Knoshaun, or LaShaun? What happened to plain old Shaun? I predict this will be Richt’s last season in Athens. The inmates are running the asylum and he has lost control. so he does not show up for punishment? Then he might decided not to show up for case. Or he might decide to drive without his license again.

He is not off the team yet, but looks like he might be on his way out. Heck like Branden Smith play too way as starting safety and backup RB with King ( if he sticks it out) and Crowell and Thomas and then if Ealey cannot or will not follow the rules and the punishment for breaking them…send him on his way to his next destination.

This doesn’t surprise a single observer of the UGA program.

Word is now that upperclassmen are not reacting positively (aka, using it as motivation) of the heralded “Dream Team”. Coaches pretty much threw the current roster under the bus for those guys.

And if you were a tailback, and a coach got your teammates to line up information without you to show a high schooler how bad they want him, would you feel the need to give anything back to the team?

Richt threw the current team under the bus for 25 18 year olds where only 3 will get noticeable playing time.

Hopefully this class of incoming freshmem will be the new standard of recruits. Seems that we’ve been recruiting too many “project” kids, those with talent but questionable attitudes / work ethics. Project = those who Richt’s trying to save, not where they are from.

I’m tired of seeing the names of UGA athletes in the newspaper every week. Find some guys who have respect for authority, can remember whether or not they have a license to drive, and want to play for UGA because it’s THEIR school!

But we can not wait or begin with the incoming class; those players who are already here must be held accountable to the highest standards of conduct both on and off the field; those incoming players will be looking to the upperclassmen as mentors and role models and those guys must provide the right kind of leadership; I have not read about any of our current basketball players or other student-athletes in the paper; let’s get our house in order … I want our football teams … all of our teams … to win and be successful on the field; but it is imperative that we be winners off the field by showing character and class …

Winning with student-athletes of questionable character is not acceptable; Losing with student-athletes of questionable character will not be tolerated; I would rather lose with young people doing things the right way and giving their best effort rather than win with young people who choose not to act or conduct them selves properly.

Sooner or later, playing with young people that you can not count on to do the right thing will result in bad consequences for everyone involved with a team or program.

Haha, actually, Georgia fans are the ones expecting this class to be the bailout they need. They concentrate on things like Nick Fairley and National Signing Day rather than looking within and critically at their program.

Your “Dream Team” was business as usual for 7-8 teams ahead of you in the rankings, all with better coaching staffs. And the dream is gone once Richt flames out this season.

Because believe it or not, after that first smack in the mouth, you will all forget NSD because you’ll know it can’t save you. We’ve just got to put up with y’alls BS until then.

Richt has been letting everyone do as they please for the last 2-3 years, and now that he’s on the hot seat, he suddenly wants to hold kids accountable. Where was this last year and the year before? He should have been running the program like this all along. I think it’s too late for him though. Another season right around .500 will cost him his job.

I also believe that the way Richt recruited Crowell was a little over the top and a slap in the face to the other backs. He’s pretty much given him the job on a platter, with only his high school film to support him. Now he may be a great runner in the long run, and I hope he will be, but come on man! What does it say to the rest of your guys when you parade a kid out there like that?

I hope Washaun turns this around as he is a good football player, despite what everyone is saying. Some of you same people were behind him 2 years ago just like you are Crowell now.

DA: not sure who you are refering to as the Yellow Jacket saying that the Dream Team will have an immediate impact next year. I’m just saying that all of these kids are just that,”kids”. They have yet to play a snap at the D1 level. It was your coach that talked of Crowell carrying the rock on opening day. Alot of pressure to put on a kid that early. Maybe he can handle it, maybe not. Don’t let your blind hatred for GT put words in other people’s mouths.

Didn’t Ealey have academic and behavioral problems before coming to UGA? He was a 20 year old freshman. I guess that stuff doesn’t matter as long as you’re producing on the field. If you don’t play well, the fans start calling for him to be kicked off the team.

He’s just suspended, not kicked off the team. Some of you need to get off your high horse. Obviously he did something to get a punishment run. After all the other stuff he did, including lying to the head coach’s face, he’s lucky he’s still here. Two years and he still barely knows how to pass block, that’s the only reason King was a starter. He’s not that great a runner anyway.
And if Murray or Crowell got into as much trouble as Ealy (and didn’t do their jobs well), hell yes, they would be suspended too.

I think you’re taking it a little too far, WDE…but it is a possibility.

Remember how the Florida team was so dysfunctional last season due to the “greatest recruiting class in history” expecting to waltz onto campus and take over?

I don’t think that will be the case with Georgia’s class, but it is something the coaches should be keeping a close eye on.

As far as the dream team if the kids already on the team do not have enough personal motivation to compete they have a long road ahead of them anyway. I think the problem in the past is that the players were given way too many chances. They aren’t children….they either follow the rules or they don’t. This has to be a zero tolerance team from this day forward unless they want a repeat of last years arrests. I would rather have a team that is respectful, folllows the rules, and learns to be good men, then a team that wins more with out of control guys.

Ealey is a bum. Always has been. Nothing wrong with sending him packing. But that being said, you have to think about the RBs left. King is a joke and Malcom is unproven. Thats a scary thought to have two untested RBs go out on national television to play a top ten team.

And in terms of John Jenkins, unless he goes out into coverage, have fun stopping the two-three run plays BSU actually runs.

All being said, I’m proud of CMR actually growing a pair and laying down the law. This coming from a Tech fan. Maybe CPJ is rubbing off on some of you guys after all.

For all the people saying Richt would never do this to his favorite player… When was the last time Murray got in any trouble? Last I remember, NEVER. That’s why Murray is Richt’s favorite, he keeps his butt in line and works hard. Can you say that about Mettenberger? King? Ealey? No. To say this is favoritism is completely stupid. All of these players have had their chances (too many in my opinion). And if the message was not clear before, these kids have bigger problems than getting kicked off a football team.

Mark Richt will have to do his best coaching between now and spring practice. He is going to have to change the mindset about conditioning and discipline. He will have to keep the players in class and working out without getting into trouble. This will be his biggest challenge.

As a firm believer in pre-destination, and a guy who does not believe players have free will, I have to conclude this whole incident was pre-determined hundreds of years ago. Nothing Ealey could have done to prevent it. After so many arrests under Mark Richt, it’s written in the stars that Richt will continue to deal with these type of issues. There’s nothing any player can do to change it.

Run him. Run him til he pukes or transfers. I can assure you the coaching staff at Georgia Southern won’t put up with Ealey’s attitude and lack of respect for a program’s disciplinary actions.

This is a case of lack of discipline. It doesn’t matter where Ealey winds up, he’ll either have to shape up or ship out.

Davison, whose dismissal was called for Sunday in an editorial in the Athens Banner-Herald/The Daily News, testified that it was theoretically possible to offer scholarships to revenue-producing athletes—i.e., football and basketball players—even if they achieved a minimum 400 score on their SAT tests, while non-revenue-producing athletes had to score at least 650. Asked if the standards were lower for revenue-producing athletes because they made money for the school, Davison said, “If you want to ask me if they have utilitarian effect to the university, certainly they do.”

Lastly, who can forget this gem, from UGA Alum attorney, Hale Almand:

And I quote: “We may not make a university student out of him, but if we can teach him to read and write, maybe he can work at the post office rather than as a garbage man when he gets through with his athletic career.”

If you noticed the signing day, Crowell can hardly speak….has trouble putting two sentences together. Very sad. He will have a hard time in Athens. And in the same signing, his teammate Gabe Wright, whom Auburn considers the best defensive tackle in the country, spoke like an upperclassman.

Also, Mark needs to send a strong message that he isn’t going to put up with the off the field stuff anymore. He has lost control of the current players, but can establish it with the new guys coming in.

UGA must show off the Fulmer Cup with pride, they have nothing else. Oh except for years and years of “top” recruiting classes and champion dog inbreeding awards. Do they have dog shows for inbred dogs?

Personally, I am so happy we have the AFCA National Championship trophy on our campus next to Cam’s Heisman and my Lombardi Award Trophy. Man, it’s so much fun over here I hate to run off to the NFL as the #1 pick in the draft but the money is just too good and I don’t have to deal with cheaters who coordinate their chop blocks on me, which failed every time, and then start fights and empty their sidelines, all against NCAA rules, and make the SEC look bad.

Where does it say Ealey’s scholarship has been revoked? If Coach Richt did not kick him off the team, then he would be called the same old soft Richt. Crowell did not cause this, Waushan caused this. I guess Caleb King’s academic troubles are Crowell’s fault also.

We have a problem with the running backs no doubt and if Ealey cant shape up then ship him out. King has disappointed too. Which leads to my question, can Bryan McLendon handle his job as running back’s coach? He too is a kid and I dont think his running backs respect him. We need more hard nosed coaching in Athens. McClendon’s performance needs to be evaluated. As running backs coach he is only responsible for five or six players and none of them performed well on the field and the two starters stayed in trouble last year. It is time for McLendon to shape his troops up.

It’s the off season. Time of UGA criminal activity to pick up. What’s the over/under for number of dawgs to have a run in with the law and/or be suspended for some period of time? Based on recent history, it has to be close to an even dozen.

Or how many points will they score toward the 2011 Fulmer Cup award, here are the rules according to wikipedia:

Points are scored for each charge received by players. (Players must be on the team roster at the time of the offense). The scoring for the Fulmer Cup is imprecise — murder is 5 points; rape, bestiality, and grand larceny are 4 points; assault et al. are 3; drug possession et al. are 2; and misdemeanors are 1 point.[2] Bonus points are awarded for arrests that occur under interesting and unusual circumstances.

In order to be eligible to win the Fulmer cup, a school must have more than one player charged. In other words, a school may not win the cup on the basis of a single player’s criminal record. This is known as the Ellis T. Jones III rule, after the San Jose State wide receiver who in 2006 was charged with 13 felony counts, including robbery, assault, and kidnapping; accumulating 31 points.

Last time I looked UGA signed 26. Two count towards last years scholarships. So if my math is correct 26-2= 24… Thats less than the 25 you can enroll at one time.

Well Ealey needs to do some serious thinking about what he wants. He has had every opportunity to be the man in Athens and he has been closer to being the thug. If he stays, he needs to know that he has to work his way out of the “s***house” to get back into the dawghouse with his team mates. If he does not want to make that effort, then he would be better off to move on. Caleb and Washuan should be on the second or scout team this spring and fall, if they want to try to earn a spot on the regular team, not as starters unless they earn it.

Richt didn’t bench Murray for 4 to’s against Florida, but did bench Ealey for 1 fumble.

Richt also said, before Crowell ever worked out or earned it that Crowell would run the ball “heavily” for Georgia.

Buck Belue said on Twitter that the word is Washaun cannot keep up with the new strength and conditioning program and he is being made an example of. It;s about time that CMR has started clearing out the troubled players and making room for incoming talent. Saban does it all the time. If a player is not contributing to the team, show him the door. There is too much talent to recruit to put up with underperforming troublemakers. It is time that the players at UGA understand that they can be replaced with someone that actually wants to play football without getting into any trouble. Personally I think suspending him is a waste of time and we can use the spot for the next recruiting class. There are definately better RBs to bring into the program that will make an immediate contribution to the program.

It absolutely sucks that this kid won’t get his s@#$ together and help the team and help himself. He’s an excellent back that without doubt would’ve had a serious “breakout” year behind an improved O line. I’m proud of Coach Richt for drawing the line and I’m grateful that we signed Crowell. I just hate to put too much pressure on a true freshman. I’m thinking more and more that there’s something special happening with the development of the other RB that redshirted last year (can’t remember his name-starts with an M) and I wouldn’t be surprised to see King out soon as well. Free up some schollies for kids that are serious about coming to Athens to work their tails off to take advantage of a great opportunity. I would like to see them both transfer to GA Southern to help the cousin university and see if they can keep their noses clean and humble their arses at the same time.

Murray had a bad game against UF . . . as a freshman QB . . . against a group of stellar DBs. Yet he still kept it a close game. And he threw for over 300. Do you really think it would have been wise to pull him out and put in Mason? Not to mention, it’s important to give your QB a vote of confidence. All young, QBs are going to have bad games from time to time. That’s hardly favoritism.

Ealey’s fumbles were unacceptable. And we at least had SOME experience behind him.

Some people say that Richt played favorites w/ Thomas Brown, that Richt was delusional in thinking that Brown was his new Dunn. Brown was a good back. And he was extremely productive in the 2007 GT game, especially when compared to Moreno’s largely ineffective rushing performance. Depth and rotation are good things, especially at RB. QB is a much different situation, though.

I recently had a conversation with a former UGA player that played in the 2002-2004 season, this young man is from Florida was one of those 4 star recruits. From this conversation, I gathered that this young man cared nothing for Mark Richt or UGA. Now this is nothing against Mark Richt, from what the young man was saying, Mark Richt was trying to make a positive influence on the young mans life. But, I bet there are many more like him on the UGA roster now. That is why this is a wasted of a year for UGA with Mark Richt at the helm. We need someone to clean the trash out of the program. You can’t save someone who does not want to be saved. These young men don’t want to be saved. Thery are making their own decisions. We will have to take a farther step back to move forward. 6-7 last year should have been the starting point. The point to start over. Mark Richt must go. He is not the man to bring the program back, because some his recruits who are bad examples of men are the reason the program is down. On the collegiate level you will win more with a group of less talented good young men that believes in team work than with more talent that does not play like a team. These recruits that UGA is getting in now do not understand what the saying means when we say ‘Georgian By Birth A Georgia Bulldog By The Grace Of God”.

Not to throw stones, but take a look at Vols 247 sports and see the number of kids that are off the team for several reasons…one being their all-sec safety Jackson…again not picking on the Vols, just trying to show you that all programs encounter problems…all you can do is to continue to teach and limit these incidents as best you can…Hopefully the dawg program has taken steps to limit alot of the stuff that has plagued us, but i don’t think any school can completely close the door on these off field incidents….go dawgs

Look you can’t expect these come in and love UGA like fans do. Our culture has changed, this isn’t 1980 anymore. What we can and should expect is the young men to come in and work hard. To lead by example and to represent the University on and off the field the right way.

Ealey clearly has a problem with his maturity and problems with authority. This is not only a reflection of CMR,but also a realization of who failed to instill in him these essential values growing up. Ealey along with many other student athletes learn that often working hard is not required of them- on and off the field. CMR has his work cut out for him in changing a 18 year olds perception of work by the tim he gets to Athens.

CMR while not perfect, is addressing these issues. Maybe not to our speed or liking but certainly addressing them. We can be revisionist of history, but that gets us no where as a fanbase. Solidarity should be the message for the offseason for the fans, and the players just need to keep there head down and work hard. It will take a dillegent effort on both ends for 2011 to head forward on a positive note.

Overall it looks to me as though many of the current and upcoming college athletes have bought into the athlete worship of today’s society. You can see from the high school level (heck, even the rec leagues) all the way up through the pros. I’m afraid that until we move away from the celebrity worship of today we will have a difficult time dealing with those that feel entitled to do what ever they please regardless of the rules. Unfortunately, those people that have that entitlement (of all races) overshadow the folks that do work hard and are upstanding citizens such as Warrick Dunn. Yes he gets some good PR out of it but the way he helps needy families is great. I’m sure there are many others but he comes to mind.

Ealy is the same guy with several CRITICAL goaline fumbles this last year not to mention the suspension he had at the beginning of the the season. If he missed a discipline run workout because he missed a mandatory workout session this is the attitude that needs to be fixed, and if he is being made an example so be it this “just getting by, self-entitled” attitude is why Georgia had a losng record last year. also, If any current player has a negative attitude towards the new weight room regime or the “Dream Team” talk in regards to new incoming competition, they are in the wrong place to begin with. You better believe Boise St. is hoping the UGA team they saw lose to UCF, shows up in Atlanta.

Many people have expressed opinions and there is truth to all of them. Some of the players have bad morals and much of this has been overlooked by coaches, fans and others. Some schools seem to have stricter codes to go by, but mostly standards are set by the coaches. What bothers me the VERY most is the stage set up by Coach Richt herding in the players and pointing out they were missing a tailback to Crowell and his family and would he like to have that spot. That was nauseating and if I had a son on that team or was being recruited by GA , I would use all my influence to get him away from that coach.

UGA needs to hire him a crew of African American Mama’s like me that will do a “background” check when the players act up. I promise you one good “background” check and they would become tight rope walkers. That is the problem. The pickings are really slim because the last few decades of players have been brought up in the “no spanking” homes and the “just talk and reason” homes and the kids are coming to college pure nuts. While I am on the subject of behavior, did it every occur to any of you that ADHD and other behavior issues did not become common until after parents became weaklings and spankings were taken out of the schools. Now I know there will be a lot of flack from parents that have failed to discipline their children on this statement but it is true. UGA has the ADHD kids that have received no discipline and now they have no self descipline. Let me know coach. I can get about 5 more mama’s just like me, We have a process cased the “pants duster” that works miracles.

Wasn’t it just two years ago that you all were ranting and raving about Washaun after he had a great game against Tech? And now he’s getting bashed like there’s no tomorrow by his own fans. This is a promise – Crowell will not be the Lattimore of this year. What that kid did was freakish, and doesn’t happen every year. He’ll be good, but will have his ups and downs. You need a kid like King or Ealey, who has played a couple of college seasons, to step in when the times are tough – which they will be at times this year. Crowell will help, but he’s not the answer.

Chizk ( the US Coach of the Year) used a limo service to shuttle kids around at Auburn, last recruiting period for 2010. Others fly to see a kid in a LEER jet. THEY ALL try to impress the kid. That is WHY schools like UGA and Alabama and LSU and Florida and Oklahoma State ( T. Boone Pickens is an alum) with their $$$ glitzy facilities.

This year Chizk is the National Coach of The Year.

We had a close family friend of an MD who served as one of a few team ortho MDs to work on knees, etc. He worked primarily at GT.

More than one time he stated that GT has some dumb, dumb guys on their atheltic terams and he was surprised prior, untol he did get involved there.

Class and intelligence know no limitation. I began college in 1967. I had the good fortune to be in classes with some players who became academic allamericans, some were as dumb as a post. I don’t remember the players getting into that much trouble back then, but we didn’t have cell phones with cameras and the internet. It is hard for someone to show interest in a college education when all around them, with some expections, did not finish high school.

This is college football and recruiting happens every year. If upperclassmen are having problems with high school seniors, then UGA is in even worse shape than I thought.

LSU brought in “The Fam” this year. 17 kids from within Louisiana borders. 2 of which are already on campus fighting for starting spots. From everything I’ve read, the upperclassmen have embraced these younger guys as the future of LSU football and are excited to get the rest on campus and get the season started. UGA is in for a loooonnnngggg season.

How many cheap shots did Fairley take at opposing players? After the play was over, knees to the head, laying out at a QBs knees when you outweigh him by 200 lbs. Not even get started on SCam Newton. I can’t help it if it was Georgia’s own BEN JONES who got suspended for trying to end a Mississippi St players career. Auburn on the other hand won the National Championship. An Auburn player won the Heisman. I won the Lombardi award. 14-0. 15-0 actually. Alabama did it the year before. I guess while Georgia owns grade inflation and de-certified schools, we have championships. And what will happen this year? 0-2 start for UGA, blow out loss to Boise and maybe a close loss against South Carolina who will be looking PAST Georgia (and who can blame them) for their show down with Navy and then doing everything they can not to look past Vandy because after that here comes the defending national champions, the Auburn Tigers.

This is a prime example of recruiting an “elite” high school player to UGA that hasn’t panned out for one, or more, reasons. It could be this kid wasn’t a qualified student who couldn’t make it academically long-term; it might be he was a known discipline risk coming into the program.

The bottom line, however, is we seem to keep coming back to Mark Richt. He’s responsible for selecting the kids for the program, coaching them so that they can improve their skills in college and play as a part of the overall team, motivate the player, insure they know, and follow, all of the rules in order to stay eligible to continue to play, and, as head coach, take overall responsibity over the health and well being of the kids they sign.

Mark Richt knew in advance Ealy had serious issues prior to signing him. This was was not the first “roll of the dice” for Mark Richt, especially most recently, as he’s come under fire. The more heat, the seemingly more desperation, so the more reaches, bringing in more risks, and thus, more troubles off the field, and more “disposable” players as new “elite” players are recruited to replace them.

It’s a vicious circle that won’t be broken until UGA’s fans demand more of your program. You CAN have the best of both worlds; find a passionate coach right now who recruits top tier, qualified talent. Mark Richt has lost his passion and has begun go through the motions. Compare him to Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech. It’s like night and day.

What the upperclassmen should be motivated about is simple…(6-7). They should be motivated by that and have some pride. They look soft, weak, and just plain bad at football. Stop worrying about high school seniors and recruits that may take your starting job. Get mad that someone is calling you lazy and soft and go take it out on the weight room and the field. Go compete and earn your right to play. This entire roster should be competing for their right to play. You ALL are 6-7. That is a losing record. You are not winners. You are losers. Now go do something about it.

Hey, here’s an idea. Let’s pay the players. At least they’d have something to play for.

There are only about 6, count ‘em, 6 Div. I schools that actually provide an education for their elite young athletes. A school like Georgia is pretty much a plantation where they chew ‘em up and spit ‘em out.

This goes on all the time in sports…another up and coming player is brought in and the coaches want to see how a player reacts. Bringing in Crowell was supposed to motivate NOT eliminate Ealey but I suspect the coaches thought it might go this way. Hopefully Caleb sticks it out and Malcolme is ready to run too. We need more than one RB in the SEC.

This is not a child. This is a college student who was given a full scholarship and many other perks. He was also given multiple chances to behave and chose not to do so. Perhaps Richt was too soft on his players but that doesn’t excuse the players. If Ealey and his parents are not up to taking advantage of his situation perhaps Mr. Ealey needs to sit out a semester or two and then go back to college to get a degree. Like lots of other students too immature for college do. Football doesn’t seem to matter too much to him. The “project” player comment is racist. That being said, discipline and rules and having to follow the law like the rest of us isn’t racist. Especially when knowing you have done wrong, you promise not to do it again and then go ahead and do it. And there’s always a better player coming up behind you, whether rec league, high school, college or the NFL. It’s up to you to be as good as you can for as long as you can. Nobody owes you. But how about the players having to pay back their scholarship to the school general fund if they flunk out or get kicked out or quit for criminal activity?

Ealey has been called out in practice and games by his own players more than once for lack of effort…….Now, as far as I know, he’s being called out by CJT for lack of effort in the weight room as well….I, for one, say that if you’re not willing to put your all into it then lets weed some of the bad seeds out and get some people in who are willing to give it their all….I think UGA took a step forward w/ this last class…..character guys……We finally have a nutrition program in place too….No more cheeseburgers for these guys now…..They show up at the cafeteria 3 times a day and eat correctly now!

I watched 4 Auburn games this year (LSU, UGA, Bama, and NCG) in all he had at least one 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty called on him.

What we have learned from some of the more delusional UGA envied posters
1. Mark Richt is not strict enough, should exercise more discipline OR
RIcht shouldn’t discipline players who are not following team rules
Chizik, Saban, Johnson, fill in the blank do/do not discipline players for violating team rules, but whatever they do is okay.

2. Returning Georgia players are upset with the Dream Team concept, and publicity the newcomers are getting. (Please list at least one link or bit of information to back up this claim).

3. Recruiting gimmicks such as coaches pulling up in stretch limos are okay, but it is an unpardonalble sin to suggest that a UGA running back recruit MAY get to carry the ball in his first game, nothing guaranteed.

4. Even though Aaron Murray has been an exemplary student-athlete, Richt should punish him anyway because Mett was punished. Through some twisted logic, this would be showing “fairness” to those knuckleheads who merited suspension.

5. It has been reported in the media that a Heisman winning QB piled up 13 traffic violations while at UF, yet never was suspended even a quarter or half of a game.
This sort of action would have resulted in a number of arrests in Athens, and certainly missed games.

6. Almosf every member of the Dream Team was recruited by other SEC/ACC schools. I know the internet is like the Wild, Wild West, but I think it is sad that people literate enough to type out a message refer to these young men as thugs, criminals, dumbbells, etc. It says a lot more about the poster than it does about the high school senior being talked about.

Only Tebow has been the kind of running threat that Cam was though. And at that point Cam had run for what 180 yards already on LSU? Like I said, it was a great run but if Cam is not a QB, that run does not happen. I think 3 guys all went with Cam on the play leaving the RB with a ton of running room. It was poor tackling on LSU’s part but again, that run doesn’t happen without Cam. And I can prove this because LSU did not give up a run like that again all year. Davis from Arkansas ran over LSU but he had to grind those yards out at 5-6 yards a run.

Clearly Ealey lacks character. A hotshot tailback is coming up through the ranks, and he is in the top dawg spot. It is time to rise to the occasion and secure his position. It is time to foster a younger player. It is time to be a team guy. His inability to do these things does not mean he is a bad person. (I don’t know the guy or a whole lot about him.) It speaks volumes about his character, though. So, are we as fans (and many of us elders) going to run this kid down and out and talk crap about him? Another alternative would be to wish him well. Another alternative is to hope he finds that character and learns how to live up to responsibilities. I choose the latter because I don’t want to see another failure. I don’t want to see another kid suffer the pain of not achieving. I don’t know who’s to blame and don’t care. I just hope this kid takes his licks, brushes it off, gets on track, and makes something of himself. Same goes for Caleb and anyone else who is having trouble grasping what it means to have character.

Ealey’s a Gangsta Thug that UGA needs to get rid of. He really pi>>>ed me off toward the end of the Arkansas game last year. With the game on the line, he was dancing some sort of rap in the huddle instead of staying focused with the rest of the team in a very important game. We wound up losing that game. Against Ga Tech, he was so stupid with just a minute left that he danced into the end zone instead of downing the ball to run the clock out. That allowed GT to get the ball back with a chance to win the game.
I’m hoping that da Preacha Man is learning from his laissez faire is everywhere approach to team discipline. He needs to drop kick both Ealey and King across the goal posts of life where they can get a head start as drivers for UPS or doing local landscaping work.

And we lost the game to ARkansas after not converting on 3rd and 4 I believe b/c Mr Break Dance Revolution, Ealey, missed a key block. Georgia gives the ball back to Arkansas and the rest is history….ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS KICK A FIELD GOAL TO WIN IT! And we couldn’t even get it done in our own house. All I remember was Ealey making some “egg on face” gesture after a nice run and then the boys in Red just falling flat on their faces.

Ealey has problems of course! But what do you expect to happen, when you take a kid that didn’t have much, and is the top football player @ his high school, and throw him into the limelight at UGA and put pressure on such a young man that should have been given time to get accustomed to college life, before hand!! You should have to earn your way to a starting position on the team and move up, not just because of how you did in high school! High School and College are 2 separate things!!

Richt should know better as a coach to allow the players to hang with bad influences!! I thought Richt has done a better job coaching a few years ago! Now is coaching is just a joke! Hopefully Richt is on his way out if things don’t straighten up! He has got to do better when it comes to starters and their grades!! If you don’t make the grade, you don’t play with/without a tutor!! His decisions are becoming erratic and not sure if he even makes the grade!

If Ealey decides to leave the Dawgs, then so be it! I hope and pray that things get better for him, as he is a young man that needs to find some people that will influence him to be the best he can be and who understands how to handle everything that is thrown at him in such a fast pace!!!

I agree with Jeff’s comment about race, it has no place in this discussion. That being said, I wish Richt would embrace diversity in his recruiting.

Ealey is not going to Georgia Southern like the anonymous Bammer fans that email you claim. Good to see you have stooped so low as to post internet rumors. this doesn’t surprise me. when he was yapping and jawing with defenders on other teams i thought he had he just had bad attitude when he ran the ball, which is something i can live with but, during the some of the last plays of the spring game he actually threw a punch at a player on his own team. i think it was sanders commings, i know your playing practicing against these guys but they’re still your teammate
