Tucker Carlson: ‘Michael Vick should be executed’ (Whaa..?)

Tucker Carlson.

Tucker Carlson.

Michael Vick.

Michael Vick.

I write this knowing that the last thing anybody wants — least of all me — is to rehash Michael Vick’s history of dog fighting. But this seems worth mentioning: A commentator for Fox News (”fair and balanced”) just declared that Vick should be executed.

Tucker Carlson, filling in for Sean Hannity on Fox News, was addressing reports that President Obama phoned Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate him for giving Vick a second chance in the NFL. Carlson went off on a rant and punctuated his remarks by declaring, “I think personally he should’ve been executed for that.”

Wow. And he said this even BEFORE the Eagles were upset by Minnesota Tuesday night. What would Carlson do to Vick now?

Here’s the video:

Once more, this time with feeling: Vick served his time for his crimes and has the right to earn a living. Anybody who chooses to boo or criticize him as a result of his past is completely within their rights. But I’m certain declaring on a national news broadcast that somebody should be executed probably is over the journalistic line.

Then again, I’m not completely familiar with Fox’s “fair and balanced” standards.

No Jeff of course you are not familiar with Fox. That is because you are a liberal and would rather slurp from the trough of this liberal rag and your boys at MSNBC.

If you were familiar with some real life news, you would know that Carlson is a pretender and is also a liberal. I think he cut his teeth at CNN. Only a liberal would equate the life of a dog with the life of a human. No conservative would do that.

Way out of line. That being said, LOVED seeing the OVERRATED, ESPN FAVORITE EAGLES get their teeth kicked in by the lowly Vikings. HAHAHAHA…

Where is the Espn bandwagon now?? Where’s Obama’s phone call?? CHUMPS

We won’t get to see Vick return to Atlanta for the NFC Championship game because the OVERRATED, LOSER EAGLES are going to get bounced in Round 1, as they deserve. LOSERS.

I didnt even attempt to defend Carlson. I called Carlson out as a pretender. Clearly, I disdain what Carlson said by the tone of my post about him. It is an idiotic (and in my opinion immoral) statement. I have no intention of defending the statement or Tucker Carlson. What I am commenting on is YOUR implication that Carlson is somehow indicative of Fox News in general which he is not. He is barely ever on the air which is why he is pulling grunt duty during the holiday.

By the way…YOU DEFINITELY…have a liberal worldview. I have read you for too many years for you to deny that. However, I certainly understand that you would not make the equivication that Carlson made.

I still have lots of hope for you Jeff. That’s why I keep reading…that and you are the funniest guy at this paper.

Jeff, notice the line where he said the following: “I’m a Christian and I believe in 2nd chances.”

Then he follows up with “I believed he should’ve been executed.” What?? That’s what gets me.

Jeff, your first mistake was listening to anything said on the Fox “News” Channel.

Your second mistake was listening to anything said on the Fox “News” Channel.

Finally, are you sure that Tucker’s “execution” comment wasn’t directed towards Obama rather than Vick? That seems to be more consistent with the FNC message.

Get Em Paul H. I cannot comprehend ESPN’s absolute OBSESSION with all things Philly. They are the only team that has their own private ESPN reporter full time (Palantonio is a Philly homer from the word go).

As far as Vick…since that is where this is going….Will we ever EVER break free of this discussion….I will say it again. I am happy for the guy. I think he is sincere and has turned it around and that is good news for all of us in the human condition. That said, the LAST thing I want to endure as a lifelong Falcon is for him to come to the Dome in the playoffs. That would take a fun thing and make it a nightmare of nausea inducing media coverage and racist pot stirring.

Interesting comment from PreyDawg that Tucker Carlson is a liberal because he used to be on CNN. He was on the CNN program called Crossfire as the right wing side of the argumentative duo (Paul Begala representing the left wing).
Following PreyDawg’s logic, Alan Colmes (of Hannity and Colmes) must be a right winger.

Tucker Carlson is a puss. I met Vick a number of years ago- nice young man. He got caught up in something stupid. Animal cruelty is a terrible thing but in no way compares to crimes against women and children. Vick should have spent time enabling inner city kids into athletics versus being stuck in a Kansas jail.

PreyDawg, I’m with you brother. I first noticed Jeff’s evil liberal agenda with the Count articles. The weekend prediction and Sack Schultz stuff were clearly his part in shifting the wealth of this country to people that are looking for handouts by picking what team wins football games.

Now that we’ve exposed Schultz as a liberal, it’s time to shift our focus to Rodney Ho’s dabbling in marxism.

Well put PreyDawg I could not agree with you more. I too received the same implication from Schultz when he felt the need to repeatedly state “fair and balance” like it was a bash against Fox. I also do not agree with Carlson’s statement and think it was over the top. However I did find it odd the President of this great country would feel compelled to take time out of his day to call the owner of the Eagles and complement him on giving Vick a second chance. Would he of called if Vick was having a poor season? Would the Eagles continue to give Vick a second chance if he was playing poorly? It is a business first and foremost and this was not a social charity move my the Eagles.

Carlson, owner of the Daily Caller website, a right wing “rag” hosts the Hannity All Star Hate Hour. He says something completely stupid, but completely in tune with right wing dogma. And now he’s a “liberal” because he worked @ CNN all so many years ago. Apparently taking a pay check from Time Warner Inc equates to being a commie pinko. (Paraphrasing …)

By your moronic logic Glenn Beck, the furthest right wing demagogue is actually a closet liberal because if your memory serves you, he worked @ CNN for several years.

Well we know that a lot of the animus for Vick was there before the dog fighting thing, and is nothing but pure racism. Righties have that game down pat. Much of their hysterical anger originates in their inability to make people drink from separate fountains and the like. So like spoiled children, they stomp and stammer and act pissy.

All haters would still be on his behind about dog fighting.. Yes it’s wrong.. but he served time.. Ben Roethlisberger raped two women and he simply paid them off and apologized and it’s all good..

Good work Jeff. Drudge up a pointless comment from a guy who is trying to be provocative and hyperbolic, because there is nothing else going on in sports (Falcons, CFB, CBB, NBA, NHL). This column will devolve into an endless volley of racially charged drivel, of course you knew that when you drew from this well didn’t you? Good work Jeff.

You will this dismiss with some smarmy comment, but you would have banged out no less than three columns had UGA lost to a service academy in Shreveport. Yet, you claim no agenda or bias as it pertains to CMR. Right.

I would highly recommend anyone wanting to argue for or against Mr. Vick to read this article, or at the very least, ask Mr. Vick the following questions…

http://www.zoenature.org/2010/12/my-questions-for-michael-vick/

Questions he has never had to answer, but should:

Michael, describe to us some of the things that took place at your kennels. Let’s start with the dogs who had no teeth when they were rescued. Who pulled them out and why?”

“Many of the dogs were so terrified of people, when they were rescued, that they wouldn’t even walk on a leash for months? What had you done to them to make them so afraid?”

“Tell us exactly what you did with water to the dogs. Did you drown them? Explain how and why.”

“And what were the electric cables for? Did you electrocute them? Again, explain how and why.”

“Please describe what a rape stand is and what you used those for?”

“Tell us, in detail, some of the things you personally did to the dogs yourself. Tell us what, in retrospect, was the worst thing you ever did.”
