Mark Richt makes a splash on Sportscenter (fully clothed) (UPDATED)
Richt did his dive wearing a swimsuit in 2008. This year he wore khakis.

Somehow, I just can’t see Nick Saban doing this on ESPN’s “Alabama: All-Access.”
When rain canceled Georgia’s practice the other day, coach Mark Richt took his team to the Ramsey Center for a little swimming and diving. The trip to the pool has become an annual tradition, as has Richt’s back dive off the 10-meter platform.
The difference on Monday was Richt didn’t have his bathing suit with him since the event was unplanned, and presumably he didn’t want to borrow an official Bulldogs Speedo. So he jumped in with his clothes on. Check the video below.
It turns out this made the “top plays” segment on Sportscenter. (Thanks to @UGABugKiller via Twitter for the tip.)
“This is the first year he did the dive with his clothes on,” said associate athletic director Claude Felton. “He has said he learned to do the dive when he was growing up in Boca Raton. He would jump off a bridge.”
Postscript: Richt, Felton said, was impressed that his clothes “held up” and didn’t have to be trashed after the dive.

Streaks are going to happen. You guys absolutely OWNED us while I was growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. It really sucks being on that end of the streak. It’ll change sooner or later. Of course, I hope it’s much later but who really knows.
Good luck this season. I’d love to see us both undefeated and ranked in the top 5 heading into Jax. That would be a blast!

Relax. It’s tradition. CMR diving in the pool and the Gators smacking down the pups in October. Can not belive this get’s so much attention. But hey, the Gators are in Gainsville builing champions.

CDawg – Find something more relevant than lifetime statistics. We haven’t done anything significant post Hershel, just like the Braves since their one World Series. Pretty good but not great. Yes, better than Tech most of the time, but that doesn’t impress anyone but Dawg fans. Besides, it’s been 10 years longer than Tech since we won a national championship.

we have: A great coach (.767 winning % in the SEC under his watch – 2 SEC titles – 3 eastern titles and consistent 10 + win seasons with few exceptions. Great recruiting / a great athletic dept with lots of positive cash flow and national championships in a broad range of sports. We regularly kick Tech’s ass – so often that it has become an afterthought – just like their football team. If CMR has a flaw it is that he loyal to a fault. If we had gotten rid of Willie sooner we would not be lamenting a bad season last year – we kicked Texas A&M’s butt with one coach and a bunch of grad asst.’s – you guys who are on here busting on CMR for having some fun with these kids who work so had to make us proud – YOU ARE SICK LOSERS. And you so called “fans” who are always moaning and griping about EVERYTHING – it’s a frikkin’ college sport……..get a grip on reality and get a life. Florida has had a great run – Tebow was a great college player as was Herschel – they come along every generation or so – Urban knows how to coach – give the man his due. He has had it his way for a while – we all know that all great streaks come to and end and ebb and flow – look at Alabama before Saban / look at Michigan now and Notre Dame / every Dawg has its dayand ours is coming – the D at UGA is making a comeback. We are on the right road again – let the season begin!

This post right here^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is a ridiculous post, made by someone who has no clue how to motivate people. CMR could give a rats a*s about what others think. He has given his word to the parents of these kids that he will do his best to help them develop as human beings.
Does he want to win?…..yes Has he been very successful?………..yes
Would he trade success for pimpin’ out these kids?……………no
Give me CMR for 30 more years, mediocrity and all. We’ll get our championship eventually. After we win, he will still be here. He won’t use UGA as a stepping stone, or promotional gimmick like 3 SEC head coaches that immediately come to mind.
I’ll take success (academic AND athletic), as well as integrity. Thank you.

I have an idea on the whole BLACKOUT thing.
Seems to me that it has turned on us, in that the opponent gets more psyched to see the black jersey than we are by wearin’ it.
Why don’t we use it as a form of punishment? We should wear them against Tenn, Fla, Ken, and LSU (Do we play LSU?)
Instead of it being a reward, make it a scarlet letter, or a mourning jersey. Make the red mean something!
Let’s work our way out of the black jerseys.

I heard Richt’s planning a huge blackout for the Tennessee game to really get the players and fans pumped up! All black–jerseys, pants, helmets, socks, shoes—I heard even UGA will be painted black for this game and the cheerleaders will wear black face! YES!!!! This black out will be super motivational and should get the dawgs to play at their highest level! Bring on the black baby!
