We’re LIVE and Thompkins says, ‘We want to win it all’

NASHVILLE — OK. Let’s play this thing already. This 9:45 p.m. stuff is getting kind of old.

Georgia knows if it can follow up Thursday’s win over Arkansas with an upset of Vanderbilt, it will play in Saturday’s semifinals against Mississippi State during non-vampire hours (3:15 p.m. EST).

Most wouldn’t fault the Bulldogs if they lost to the Commodores, who are 23-7 and a lock for the NCAA tournament. They got their one SEC tournament win, which is one more than most expected. But there is no sense of satisfaction in their locker room.

From Trey Thompkins: “We want to win it all. We didn’t come here to win one game. We plan on moving forward.”

Before the Georgia-Arkansas game, Vanderbilt players were quoted as saying they preferred to play the Razorbacks in game two, given the Bulldogs defeated them in Athens and nearly pulled off an upset in Nashville (Vandy won in overtime). Said Thompkins, “They know we’re going to fight them to the end. They understand that and we understand that.”

Vandy hasn’t matched up well with the Dogs on the front line. Georgia held an 83-63 rebounding advantage in the two games and outscored the Commodores, 70-52, in the paint and 27-19 on second-chance points.

A.J. Oglivy, the Commodores’ 6-11 center, was held to six points in Georgia’s win in Athens. He scored 17 in Vandy’s overtime win in Nashville, but 11 of those came on free throws. In the two games, he was 5-for-18 from the floor. Travis Leslie (39 points, 18 rebounds) and Thompkins (38, 14) led Georgia in the two meetings.

OK, time to declare. What happens tonight?

UGA Alum:

I must admit, we really suck. It’s ashame with our easy schedule, that we could not do any better. I mean, we have the 90th SOS rating and our RPI is 160th. I am surprised that we are not invited to the big dance. I guess we will have to wait until the Gym mutts crank up and until then, I am headed to my doublewide to put in a chew, grab a generic beer and think of excuses why we couldn’t get it done. You all know this was a rebuilding year for us and I really think we will win it all next year. It’s almost like our SOS of 190 is the same as our SAT scores. What else can I say but SICKEM! Woof Woof Woof, down, down, down we go!

UGA Alum:

March 13th, 2010
12:05 am

hey GT: take it easy on the Jackets. They were obviously the better team, but you can come over to my doublewide and watch them beat NC State tomorrow and then watch the selection show Sunday with me before we go bull riding if you want to. LMFAO!

Don’t take this comment the wrong way, but really when you think about it, it was like us playing Marist in BB tonight. Thanks for the easy win. We look forward to kicking ur azzes again next year. Just think, you have a long time to think what could of been, but wasn’t. VANDY IS DANDY AND UGA IS DONE! Bye now!

March 13th, 2010
12:13 am

yep, we sure kicked some azz tonight. Thanks to all the alum and fans coming to Nashville to support our team. I wish AJAX WAX and the rest of the team the best of luck winning next year. Maybe they will improve our SOS from 190 to 189 and our RPI from 90 will go to 89 and I am sure we will be dancing with the losers.

Seriously. F all of you geeks. It is sad that you do not realize the slimy,
pathetic, loser, people that you are. it is ridiculous. it is envy is
what it is. nerds. wastes.
by the law of averages you will win one every decade or go to a tournament
every now and then. but for the love of God, YOU ARE INFERIOR. YOU HAVE
BEEN FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND YOU WILL CONTINUE TO BE.
so get off your “high-holy sh!t we did something uga didn’t do-horse” and
accept it. you suck. you are not UGA and you never will be. pure envy.
and i thank you for the compliment but you are getting very annoying.
you know it. i know it. everyone knows it.
but it’s ok. it’s human nature. now seriously, go away. LOSERS. and
tech all your loser math club geeks with you.
