I would love for Paul Johnson to coach Notre Dame. He's an excellent coach.
And, I think it would be easier for him to win a national championship at Notre Dame, than it would be at Georgia Tech. Nothing against Georgia Tech.
I'm sorry to say, his name is getting mentioned much regarding the Irish coaching position.
I live between Chicago and South Bend, and I think I've heard Paul Johnson's name mentioned once.

Jeff...I agree with you. So far Paul Johnson has been true to his word. I do hope he is a different kind of coach and not driven by dollars. If he leaves GT, that's okay because I remember when a sports writer asked him about some highly recruited player choosing not to come to Tech. Coach Johnson simply said, "We don't need him and we don't want him." That told me a lot about his attitude. Only time will tell if GT has another legend to go with the like of Heisman and Dodd. I really hope so.

Head coaches have to be careful. More often than not, those "BCS" / powerhouse head coaching jobs are a career killer. Especially the ND job as of lately. Weis will be a coordinator next year in the pros, or a QB coach. The risk is way too high for PJ to move to a "bigger" school. Its working at GT, move to another program and trip up - just a little - and he's back working in division 2 or at espn. Long term, the GT job is perfect for him. Way less pressure to win than at a Florida, USC, or ND. Plus those schools attract more blue chip pro style recruits, which his offense does not - creating some obvious personnel problems.

Oh and god forbid if Johnson were to get the head coaching job ND - he better make sure he didnt fudge an old resume from back in the day.

Urban Myer will be the next head coach of Norte Dame.

Tebow will be gone, and so will his long time O.C. ND is his dream job, and he won't let it pass him by. There is nothing left for him to do in Florida.

If you remember his contract with Utah said he could leave without having to pay money if one of two jobs became open.. ND or Florida (in that order).

MARK MY WORDS!!!!

A winner, a man of class and integrity. He loves Atlanta and Atlanta loves him as does everyone at GT. He's ours...you can't have him. He's going nowhere. He doesn't chase the $ he follows his heart.
