DeAngelo Hall gets pounded in court of public opinion (duh)

If DeAngelo Hall is serious about complaining to the NFL about that big meanie, Falcons coach Mike Smith, there’s something he may want t0 know: Character witnesses will be in short supply.

Hall’s reputation as a talented but underachieving selfish malcontent precedes him. And you would be hard-pressed to find anybody around the NFL to say a bad word about Smith. Here’s a sampling of follow-up comments, with links, from Sunday’s sideline incident during the Falcons-Washington game:

MIKE SILVER, YAHOO! SPORTS:

“Is [Hall] experiencing problems with the imaginary friend who lives in his helmet? That’s my theory after he capped a ridiculous week by starting a bunch of drama on the Falcons’ sidelines in his team’s 31-17 defeat at the Georgia Dome on Sunday, then had the gall to whine that Atlanta coach Mike Smith had “put his hands on me in a harmful way.” Cue the violins. I’ve repeatedly watched the video of the incident, which began after Redskins safety LaRon Landry put a late hit on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan on the Atlanta sideline, and I’m having a really hard time believing that Hall’s planned complaint to the NFL about Smith will be met by anything but laughter. …  The opposing sideline is off-limits; even Landry had the good sense to leave after his cheap shot on Ryan. Hall made a point of coming over and getting involved, and then he acted surprised that former teammates and others wanted him gone.”

DON BANKS, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED:

“And speaking of brainless, how transparent was it of Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall to go over and mix it up on the Atlanta sideline after Washington safety LaRon Landry got flagged for a late out of bounds hit on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan? … Hall, the ex-Falcon who left Atlanta for Oakland in 2008 with bruised feelings intact, wound up pretty much tussling with Falcons head coach Mike Smith, who’s never afraid to mix it up. And here I thought it was Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff that Hall had a grudge against, given his pointed comments of last week.”

225004_SPORTS_FBN-SKINS-FALCHRIS NEEDHAM: NBCWASHINGTON.COM

“How low was yesterday’s loss? We found out that even the Falcons’ coach is tougher than the Redskins. … DeAngelo Hall, the Skins cornerback, is afraid of the Falcons’ 50-year-old silver-haired head coach, Mike Smith.  Smith, Hall alleges, roughed him up on the sideline during a skirmish and said a bad word to him.  A bad word!”

BARRY SVRLUGA, WASHINGTON POST

“[Hall] has a penchant for drama, and though there were more costly plays in the Redskins’ 31-17 loss to the Falcons, none better typified Washington’s utter loss of self-control than Hall’s mix-up with the Atlanta coaching staff and players.”

So go for it DeAngelo. This should be rich.

Don’t worry about it Hall, I got your back. Just remember keep telling everybody its the Falcons fault, its the fans fault. Never admit any failure on your own part. The biggest thing is to make sure the voices in your head are on your side, and you will never have an issue.

Mean ole Coach Smith, I can’t belive he was picking on you. Shame on him and his momma for bringing him up that way

This should answer Bradley’s question earlier in the week: “Given the Falcon’s secondary problems, would you take DH back?”. Even without this incident, the answer was obvious.

I’d feel sorry for him if he weren’t continually getting paid. That’s the biggest problem with today’s athletes; they never learn how to act like responsible human beings because some moron is always continuing to cut them multi-million dollar checks no matter what they do. It’s particularly bizarre in Hall’s case because he’s not even a good football player. Get repeatedly burnt, run your mouth, attract penalties and still drive a Lamborghini. The good news is he appears to be stupid enough to fall into the Vick/Sprewell category, i.e. he may be broke at 30 regardless.

Hahahahahahahahaha. Thanks Jeff, those articles brought a smile to my morning. MeAngelo is tool of epic proportions, ranking up there with Ocho, T.O. and A.I.. By the way, how does he define “put his hands on me in a harmful manner”? (Seeing as how he never seems to have be able to do that to opposing players?)

I watched the melee yesterday, and I hope the commissioner does look at the tapes. He ran into the sideline and began grabbing Falcon players and coaches, and finally was dragged away by a referee. Now if that doesn’t call for a fine or suspension, I don’t know what does. Funny thing, but the player that caused the problem left the melee before Hall was dragged away. He says he’s still upset with Falcons for releasing him, but he never talks about the Oakland for doing the same. On a parallel subject, VTech has turned out more than a few like Hall, and the coach preaches bullying to his players. Isn’t it ironic that he was complaining about some dirty play from GTech’s linemen. Oh yeah remember when he lost special Sugar bowl game in Atlanta and complained that someone was stealing his signs.

Yet ANOTHER outstanding ambassador of the VaTech Thuggies and their coach, Frank Beamer.

I think the only question left in regards to Me-Hall, is just how many dog fights he attended with Mike ConVick while a VaTech and with the Falcons.

‘Cause y’all know he was all up in that. I bet when ConVick’s illegal dog fighting and gambling empire was raided, poor MeAngelo and quite a few former Falcons (NoPlayRay) were sweating something fierce!

Deion Sanders sized it up perfectly on The NFL Network, when he said, Smith should remember Yankees Don Zimmer when he attacked a player, while he was a coach and got the crap beat out of him.

Smitty is like a thousand years old, fat and out of shape – I would laugh when D Hall knocks his old “redneck” azz out :)

Smitty & Tom Cable are just THUGS and need to be BANNED from the league. There is no place in the NFL for THUGS bringing the STREETS into the NFL.

How can you hold your players accountable if they see their coach not controlling their temper.

He can expect the Players Association to get in on this if the Commisssioner tries to sweep this one under the carpet.

From the tenor of the comments above, the fans are ready to support a coach and management that puts “high caliber character guys” on the field, win-loss record notwithstanding, and will cheer and faithfully support the team’s efforts at self improvement that come from hard work and dedication to playing the right way. From that, one can deduce there is no overlap between these writers and the bloggers who post under the UGA game results. If you eat the cake, you can no longer have the cake.

SCHULTZ

Good smoke screen with the D Hall situation. The real problem is the leadership of the team. I think Smitty was releasing stress, created by the poor play of his guy that IMPERSONATES the quarterback position.

- Ranked 20th in the NFL in passing

- 4 straight games of decling QB RATINGS

- 4 straight games with at least 1 PICK

- 3 out of 4 last games with less than 200 yards passing

- 135 yards passing in last game

- 68, 66, 46 & 81 QB RATINGS last 4 games

If I was the head coach, that would make me have stress :)

Wasn’t it you guys saying that Turner was too slow and fat and is the reason for Ryan’s decline?

Well Turner has rushed for 317 yards the last 2 games and ranks 7th in the NFL.

The CHOKE is sinking faster than the Titantic – he ranked a Peyton Like 20th in the NFL. 20th? Is that Turner’s fault?

This “New Face” of the franchise is a JOKE and a failure. How can a team expect to reach the Superbowl if your leader is ranked 20th in the NFL.

But then again, he will still have the support of the fan base, because it’s that old saying “Birds of a feather flock together” and this coop has been raided by the Chicken Hawk :)

My biggest problem is my hypocrisy. :)

I loved Mike Vick as this team’s quarterback and always defended his abysmal play as a QB by pointing to his wins. :)

Mike Vick is not a failure, I would say, he is a WINNER. It doesn’t matter what his stats are! :)

Now that Mike Vick is gone, I can’t make the logical leap and realize that it was his fault, not the Falcons, that he is gone. It felt so good to me to have a black man QB a football team in Atlanta. After he turned out to be a criminal, lording over an illicit dog fighting and gambling empire, like the worst kind of thug, I couldn’t handle it. :)

And then when the Falcons went out and drafted a WHITE quarterback, I lost my mind. What a betrayal by the Falcons! Mike Vick was only going to be in prison two years! They betrayed Mike Vick! They should have waited! :)

Then, I started blogging under the name Vick Supporter 2 last year and did everything I could to talk bad about the white QB, Matt Ryan. :)

Of course, I would disappear for long stretches at a time because he put together the best rookie year in the history of the NFL as far as QBs are concerned. :)

But when the Falcons lost the playoff game, I was back with a vengeance as Vick Supporter 2! I blamed everything on Matt Ryan although he led the team back in the end only to see Keith Brooking ruin a chance at a comeback. :)

Then, during the offseason, I jumped on Joe Flacco’s bandwagon, because although he had one of the worst postseason performances by a QB in NFL history, just like Mike Vick, his teams won those games! And since I just hate Matt Ryan because I illogically believe that the Falcons betrayed Mike Vick, Flacco became my rallying cry. :)

And now that the Falcons are pointed to yet another playoff berth under Ryan and the first back-to-back winning seasons ever, something I am so bitter than Mike Vick could never accomplish, I am pointing out Matt Ryan’s stats as to why I hate him, even though he has an 11-1 record in the Dome and is a winner in every sense of the word. :)

You know, just like everyone used to do to Mike Vick. And now that Joe Flacco isn’t doing well, my hypocrisy is all I have. :)

In fact, I started going by different names so I could have people on the blogs who agreed with me. I am Vick Supporter 2. I am Bad News. I am FALCONS SORRY. I am bigeasy830. And now I am Matt “Choke” Ryan. :)

I am a useless troll, and I am so happy that the AJC doesn’t do a damn thing to deal with their troll problems! The AJC thinks that like Terence Moore used to, my idiocy generates more page hits. What the AJC doesn’t realize, is that the number of blog responses keeps on getting lower and lower the more that I am allowed to take over the blogs with my trolling. :)

So, in the end, because the AJC refuses to deal with their troll problems, basically me and all of my other names, I am going to destroy their blog. :)

Just like my favorite QB ever, Mike Vick, I am a winner! :)

He destroyed a football team. I destroy everything that is supposed to make these blogs fun! :)

I am so awesome, unlike Noodle Arm! :)

Flacco isn’t on the Falcons. Here’s a news flash neither is your BFF Ron Mexico.

Yeah we know what you caught from Ronnie. That’s why you post..too painful to talk with sores on your lip.

Guys, don’t feed the troll. It should be apparent that “Choke” is a sixteen year old girl with nothing better to do. No adult uses that many smiley faces…

Somebody tell Mike Vick to stop posting on this board. Bitter party of one?

Not even two years in the league. Choke you’re pathetic.

I read DeAngelo is going to call Roger Goodell and “nip this in the bud”. Sort of reminds me of “Citizen’s Arrest, Citizen’s Arrest”. Face it DeAngelo, you’re no Barney Fife or Gomer Pyle.

You people need to understand my psychology. :)

I love Mike Vick so much that I hate myself for loving him. :)

And then reason why I hate Matt Ryan so much is because even though I love Mike Vick so much, I secretly hate him too. And that makes me hate me, too. :)

I can’t stop hating myself for loving and hating Mike Vick at the same time. :)

I’m so alone that I need to troll these blogs with my vitriol and hate. :)

I’m so alone. :)

I love you Mike Vick! :)

Hear we have the Redskins defense with all the big name, big money players, and then we have the no-name Falcons defense overstocked with players the network announcers and fans outside of Atlanta have never heard of. Who was the most effective DL on the field? Haynesworth? Or maybe Babineaux/Biermann and company. You want DeAngelo or Tye Hill?

Character matters. Win or lose, I love watching this team battle.

I feel sorry for Jim Zorn; it’s obvious he doesn’t have control of his team or personnel.

Oh, and please get off Matty-ice’s back. Who cares whether he gets 135, 235, or 335 yards? 31-17 is just fine; leave the show-yards to the matinee idols sitting at home in January. This is a TEAM game, and he fits in just fine.

Never, ever draft another Virginia Tech player, please. Those guys are either:

a.) Dog Killers (see: Mike Vick)
b.) Lazy (see: Mike Vick and Jimmy Williams)
c.) Egotistical, selfish and moronic
d.) in Vick’s case, all of the above

Let’s stay far away from that school, please.

Jeff, here’s an idea, give Coach Smith Matt “Choke” Ryan’s IP address and let the Falcons organization track him down. Then Coach Smith can discuss Matt “Choke” Ryan’s dissatisfaction with our beloved quarterback in a way that Matt “Choke” Ryan can understand.

Hi, it’s Mike, y’know? Don’t be looking to shut up “Choke” or Vick Supporter. It’s called freedom of speech, y’know? And it’s a good thing it’s free ’cause I’m broke, y’know? By the way, turned in another stellar performance yesterday. 1 carry for 2 yards to bring my yards per carry down to 2.2 for the season. Hanging in there with my 42.4 QB rating too, y’know? C’mon, you KNOW the Eagles are having me play bad on purpose so I can sneak up on the Falcons when I’m back in the dome December 6. Y’know?

I wished that Ryan would have thrown a few passes deep down field at him because of Hall’s lack of discipline. I’m just glad he is stealing money from someone else because we all knew how soft he was.
