Michael Vick is gone and is never going to play for the Falcons he has shown more class since he has been.released than 95% of these losers that post. He works hard every day he is getting his weight down working in the community, taking care of kids and planning a wedding. He is doing things to help pay off his debts in other words he has moved on when will you people move on. It was fun watching him play in the dome(superdome) saints fan always loves to watch him play. We wish him well he helped our children get shoes and book bags every year from Nike we are thankful. You losers we cannot wait to thump you to the ground. Who dat? Drew Brees

The Eagles are finding out what the Falcons found out quickly, despite the football ability Vick is a serious dumbass and can't comprehend plays ,offenses, or read defenses. These facts were uttered by his Falcon teammates over and over . Listen to an interview and you wonder how he finds his way out the door each day.

By the way there would not be a sellout if it were not for players buying 11,000 seats and corporate sponsors buying tickets that can't give away so don't act like all is wonderful in the dome. Arthur Blank loves Michael and will always want the best for him he was instrumental in getting Michael back in the league. So you are all waisting your time on that he knew it was time to let Michael go and Michael still loves Mr. Blank you have to have tough love for your children sometimes I means letting them go. Commissioner Goo dell is on Michael's side and is giving him every tool to help him succeed. I only wish he would do that for all players that get in trouble a support group. So for all of those wishing Michael ill-will save your energy not working move on.

Redemption for a dogfighter Wayne Pacelle Thursday, October 15, 209 If there were a multiple-choice question on a test, "Who would be the least likely person to work with convicted dogfighter and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick?" I'd be the obvious choice - the president of the Humane Society of the United States. You wouldn't even need to know that I was a key architect of the federal law against animal fighting under which Vick was prosecuted, or that the Humane Society has the only unit within any animal protection organization devoted exclusively to combatting dogfighting and cockfighting. But life takes many strange turns. Two years ago, the Humane Society vigorously campaigned for Vick's prosecution and his suspension from the NFL. Yet I've stood with Vick recently in Chicago, in Atlanta, in Philadelphia and in Washington as he made the case for his off-field redemption, urging young men not to follow his path toward dogfighting. Yes, these have been pinch-me moments - but also steps on the road to real progress on the issue. We have been working with Vick to do outreach to young people, especially kids at risk of getting involved in dogfighting. We plan to travel to other cities, including Baltimore, Newark, N.J., Dallas, New York and even Los Angeles, to show kids that dogs should be loving companions, not fighting instruments. When Vick asked me about getting involved with the Humane Society to speak up for animal protection, I was skeptical. But I imagined what an athlete like Vick could do to help - because attacking the larger problem, not Vick, was always the goal. Vick paid $1 million for the rehabilitation and care of the dogs he abused, and I thought he should continue to pay with his time - as a form of community service. The fact that he's now enthusiastic about steering kids away from animal cruelty, making an impact, and broadening his outlook about being a good citizen when it comes to the care and protection of animals has been a bonus to me. Vick says he wants to help more dogs than he harmed, and I want to help him succeed in reaching that goal. Animal lovers are angry about what Vick did, and that's the right instinct in this case. But at some point that anger needs to be turned into constructive action - otherwise, it does no good. If you take stock of the entire Vick drama, this is a textbook example of how you want such a case to play out. A person who committed an awful crime against animals is found out. Prosecutors take the case seriously, and the perpetrator eventually pleads guilty. The judge metes out a stern penalty, given the sentencing guidelines at the time. Meanwhile, as the case proceeds, an upwelling of social disapproval about animal cruelty results in a raft of new laws adopted throughout the country to combat the broader social problem. And then, upon release from prison, the perpetrator comes knocking on the door of the largest animal protection group and says he wants to sign up to do community service for the anti-cruelty team. He makes the pledge public so there is accountability. Today, the Humane Society welcomes within its ranks ex-trophy hunters, ex-fur trappers and lots of other folks who engaged in harmful behavior toward animals. We are all "ex-offenders" at some level when it comes to animals. The key is that we start moving in the right direction. In a civil society, there must be accountability for grievous actions. But there also must be an embrace of people who are willing and ready to change - even in tough cases, like Michael Vick. We are all sinners when it comes to animals, and we can all do better. Wayne Pacelle is president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States, www.humane society.org. The Philadelphia Eagles, with quarterback Michael Vick, will play the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. This article appeared on page A - 19 of the San Francisco Chronicle PRINT E-MAIL
