Hate to say it but saw this coming a mile away. Can you say train wreck? We are looking at 6-6 at the absolute best this year. There is only one sure win left on the schedule and my concern is that, having nothing to play for a consistently being outcoached, the team just mails it in. Jeff is correct – we are pretty darn close to being 1-5 or 0-6. If you guys want to tolerate what is fast devolving from mediocrity to being a just plain bad football team, go ahead. Don’t flame me for stating reality though. The thing that kills me is that this is all about playing fundamental football and it all boils down to a lack of coaching.

As a UGA grad and fan for the past 40 years I have to say that this year’s team is pathetic.

What do the Georgia football coaches do during the week? They sure don’t get the players ready for the game.

What do the Georgia football players do during the week? They look like they have no ideawhat is going on out in the field during the game.

I have never seen so many receivers open as the Vols had during this game.

I have never seen so many players break tackles as the Vols did during this game.

Joe Cox (God love him) looked like Greg Talley who was absolutely the worst Georgia QB I have ever seen play for Georgia.

The Georgia team looked like the run down team that Donnan and Quincey Carter ran in Athens.

Has Mark Richt just quit working? I know he is a good man and all of that, but that does not win games – or even keep you in a game on Saturday.

Somebody in Athens either needs to get their act together or just cancel the rest of the season because this team is an embarrassment to the entire university – and state.

This guy is of the old school SEC coaches and he is simply getting schooled by Miles, Kiffin, Saban and Meyer. Saban is the oldest of them all second to Richt and the difference between Saban and Richt…Saban adjusted to how the SEC changed from his time at LSU to his arrival at Bama. Mark Richt has not adjusted and, from the quotes you put up from the post-game Jeff, will not adjust.

So that’s it. If he will not adjust then he has to go.

I think Richt knows changes need to be made. We all said his loyalty would be his downfall and now its become reality. He had the chance to make changes last year and chose not to. No one to blame but himself.I just hope we get the right people in here quick. If not we’re just wasting talent.

Hi Jeff,

Glad that you wrote this. Agree with you. The program lacks a winning edge…The team is not playing good fundamental football…don’t beat yourself…captialize on the other team’s mistakes.

This was very sad day for me. Absolutely love UGA football…..CMR and CWM say “I am not Happy”…… that’s not good enough….I want to hear “I am mad and we are going to do something about this”

If the recruiting services are correct and we are getting top 10 classes every year—what is wrong.

I think it is our approach…..1. Not demanding excellence in every phase of the game. 2. Putting up with sloppy play….3. defensive scheme–bend and don’t break..stay back don’t attack….4. can’t run the ball….5. sloppy kick coverage………

Corrections: 1. CMR go back to calling plays—mix pass and run better….2. more playing time for another QB….3. Put some more speed in the backfield…want to see #1 on offense more….4. Get another defensive coordinator CWM just can’t do it…If we are not going to fire him now….consult and get some good defensive minds in there this week to help CWM….CWM should readily admit that he needs help. And no reason why we can’t hire some extra help and get a fresh set of eyes looking at stuff….fresh eyes,,,fresh eyes….5. Attack more on defense…6…teach D to strip ball and make fumbles happen…rush passer more…we let Cromptom pick us apart and UT is no good this year…

We got some work to do and it starts with the top man CMR….He has got to admit to himself that change is needed….It is not fair to the players and Ga. supporters…Change must be made.

Any coach would leave if the AD started demanding he fire assistant coaches. CMR is no different. Add to that the fact the staff is like family and that’s where you are…the co-DC is not the solution. Splitting the ‘run coordinator’ and ‘pass coordinator’ between Bobo and Searls isn’t, either. You need ONE DC, and ONE OC. Oh, what the h#!!. We have problems in every phase of the game. How did it happen so quickly?

I do not agree with thr article, the refs did not lose the game, but of course the pass interference started the ball rolling in the 1st qtr and UGA can not win with the worst game changing calls I have ever seen. Yes, Martinez has to go and the play calling is not good, but no team can play through consistant bad ref calls. If it were not true, Jeff’s aeticle would not have mentioned it.

CMR does not have the fire. He is a stickman. The players may like him but do not respect him. He is not a Saban or even a Kiffin. The penalties and turnovers tell the whole story. Until the A.D. cleans house, not only will this season be painful, expect a repeat next year as well.

Without trying to presume upon daily activities of the team, I am going to assume that discipline is not stressed much (team dancing on the sidelines when they are loosing…constant penalties and lack of focus)…there is not seem to be much motivation or desire…Ritch seems to be comfortable taking a couple years off from coaching and fine with being a mediocre team…and does not have the vision to develop a solid running game, defense or quarterback…this is the first year in possibly history that we do not have a running back, quarterback or even a basic defense. I have sold my tickets for 1/2 of what I paid for them and each time I sold them to the opponents fans. My kids don’t even care to watch the games anymore.

Did you watch the sugar bowl against WV? Did you watch the peach bowl against VT? WE ARE NOT CAPABLE OF 4 QUARTERS OF QUALITY FOOTBALL AND IT IS GETTING WORSE. OK, let’s all use the Obama slogan. UGA NEEDS SOME “CHANGE”, and I am not talking about the kind that you throw in the cup holder of your car. Richt either needs realize that 3 of his assistants are awful and fire them, or be prepared to be run out of town with them. Furthermore, at this point we are playing for next season. We will barely make a bowl game. We need to either play one of the true freshman at QB or see what Logan G. can do the rest of the year. Cox has been a true DAWG, but he just isn’t cutting it….Oh and what happened to UGA’s running game. You can’t tell me its the RB’s fault.

UGA lost a lot of talent last season. GT fans like to joke about the pre-season #1 ranking and subsequent tumble, but UGA did have a very talented team last season. Unless you’re a top-tier program like UF, UT, OU, USC, you just don’t plug in new parts and finish 10-2 the following season.

UGA is going to suffer a down year –I said 6-6 prior to the start of the season– but your dawgs will more than likely recover. IMO it would be a mistake for you guys to get rid of MR.

I just finished watching the Alabama game and comparing that team to UGA makes you realize what a difference there is in the coaching. When Ole Miss threw the ball, every throw was contested, Snead was pressured on every throw. On the flip side, Crompton had all the time in the world, receivers were wide open and he looked like Peyton Manning. If our D is going to be competitive in the SEC, we have to learn to play man coverage, we have to bring pressure (when was the last time a safety or corner blitzed) and we have to take some chances. Bama ran a fake punt in the first quarter and it worked.

I’m just really sick of seeing the same 4 running plays and about 10 pass plays. Our coaches have not had an original thought in two seasons.

Not to mention, when calls didn’t go our way Richt just stands on the sideline. There were two pass interference calls where the ball was uncatchable. Richt just stands there, no emotion. Makes me sick.

I sincerely believe that our athletes can match up with any teams athletes in the SEC. It all comes down to coaching and we are bad from the top to bottom. Make some changes Evans, Richt’s not going to.

Reminds me of another season not long ago with another senior QB named JOE! Had a highly ranked freshman on bench and mid way he was starting,that guy went on to be #1 draft pick and brought hope and excitment his freshman year. Thanks for the loyalty Joe now her is your clip board

Look at it this way:

Tennessee is now the acknowledged 2nd best team in the SEC East, and lost, at home, to the middle-of-the pack PAC-10 UCLA. Georgia nearly lost, at home, to one of the worse PAC-10 teams, Arizona State.

Face it, the SEC is Florida and Alabama, and a lot of mediocre (UT) to garbage (UGA) to dumpster (Vandy) teams.

Dawg fans: As a UT alumnus all I can say is “Welcome to our world.” As long as you have Bobo and Martinez, then you will join the Vols (for the time being) in the world of football mediocrity. Those of us in Obknoxville realized that changes had to be made, hence the university hired a staff that can recruit high school players and back them up with coaches that maximize their talent (hey, it will take time). UGA needs to realize their coordinators are, at best, adequate and can never take the talent the state has to a championship level.
As for Vol fans, see you in Nashville for the Music City Bowl.

There was a telling line in this story when CMR said I will have to look at the film. Guys….we Vol fans heard this for the last few years in every loss UT had from Fulmer. It was always I will have to look at the film. Sorry, but I see alot of similarities about what is happening at Athens and what we went through in Knoxville. You may or may not be there yet but it looks very similar. Our new coaching staff has brought new life to our program.

I don’t think the BIGGEST problem is the coaching. Remember, these guys were around when Georgia was winning. Problem is all you Georgia fans got spoiled when you dominated everyone. That is why you want to get rid of a coach. First, I think you have a young team. Second, not the greatest offensive line. When you can’t block properly and so young that you keep making mistakes, no matter who coaches your team it isn’t going to be very good. I’ll bet these same guys will grow up some next year and be a lots better. This comes from a Georgia Tech fan.

After the OK State fiasco, I predicted 6 and 6 IF we improved. Well boys and girls, we have gotten worse. 6 and 6 is not likely. 5 and 7 looks more likely IF we can bet Vandy. Otherwise Tennessee Tech looks like the only victory on the horizon.

Obviously something is seriously amuck in Athens. A week ago this team looked good enough to beat LSU (we may be about to find out just how significant, or insignificant, that effort was as the Tigers and Gators go at it). This week not good enough to beat anybody else on the schedule except Tennessee Tech (maybe). That’s a long way to fall in one week. What is the problem? Can our coaching really be that bad? Are our players that bad? Neither one seems to explain today’s poor performance against a poor team that will also struggle to finish above 500 (didn’t UT loss to UCLA?). This is total melt- down.

Well, I hope Martinez and Bobo are enjoying their final season on Athens’ beautiful campus! At a minimum, Richt either dumps Martinez (who’s body of work ALSO speaks for itself—gee, we didn’t even lay a finger on the Vol QB all day!!!!!) or risks having his own job in jeopardy. However, if Florida doesn’t hang a hundred points on the Dawgs, Willie’s job is probably safe. Richt is too concerned about loyalty and kindness (Mark, if you want to be a preacher…quit coaching and go be a preacher). Clearly Schultz who’ve never coached. The coaches can coach. There’s not as much talent on this team as in year’s past. When you lose a first round QB and RB, lose your best lineman due to injury, have no pass rush, and are forced to play 2 freshmen in the secondary, you will struggle. Go coach a game or two and then make those comments

Well considering we havent won a big game in 2 years.. he is dead on. Last years record was a joke. We got blown out in the big games and then lost at home to our in state rival. We won 2 titles when Saban and Spurrier left for the NFL.

I don’t feel the offensive and defensive game planning is at fault. I believe what is missiing in on the field coaching Monday thru Friday. We can not run block with what was suppose to be the best offensive line in years. We can not play a secondary coverage with out major breakdowns. When we get to the play we may be the worse tackling team in the SEC, no one wraps up a ball carrier. I believe that is where this team is lacking, basic fundamentals, blocking, tackling, discipline to stay on sides, not late hit ect ect.. In short they are a very poorly coached team.

Tennessee was starting Freshmen all over the field today plus two walk ons on the OL. CLK has them on the way up and UGA is on the way down. Two of the last three recruiting classes Tennessee had with Fulmer there were ranked in the 40’s. Tennessee may have the #1 class the year with Kiffin. Once they have some talent, they will be rolling.

We have 53 players in the program who are either 4 or 5 Star studs. I don’t want to hear excuses about lack of talent. We are getting outcoached every few weeks the last 2 seasons. We have the studs but you have to play smart & physical.

What does a preseason ranking have to do with anything? That year the biggest games of the year, they got blown out.. one of them at home. Not even competitive.

The 2 sec titles came when the sec was abysmal. Saban and Spurrier left college because they were tired of beating UGA.

I have seen enough. I’m tired of all the excuses from Richt. “I like his play calling.” when talking about Bobo. Is he kidding? Fire the OC and DC. I have been screaming for Martinez to be fired since 2005. The defense just keeps getting worse. Nobody in the SEC would hire Bobo or Martinez. They are both overmatched at their positions. Damon Evans will be forced to make the decisions that Richt won’t. There will be less donations coming to UGA if this keeps happening.

The problem does start with Richt. We are getting outcoached plain and simple. Not saying that they are bad coaches, but Bobo and Martinez are over their heads in the SEC. Let’s just look at the last couple of seasons…penalties (many of which are just stupid and come at critical times), turnovers, missed tackles, missed assignments, dropped balls (both offensively and defensively), lack of making adjustments, etc. This absolute lack of fundamentals and discipline just comes down to poor coaching. Again, plain and simple. You cannot argue that. We come up against Saban, Meyer and the like and we get destroyed. We are easy pickings to those superior coaching staffs. And now Kiffin…are you kidding me! Richt’s downfall in Athens may just come down to his loyalty to his guys. I love Mark but Bobo and Martinez have to go or unfortunately Richt does along with them. If he doesn’t have it in him to do it then he must go because our players look completely lost out there and unprepared to play in the rugged SEC. We have the talent to compete with the best but are not even close on the coaching side of things.

I found myself pulling for the Vols to put up over 50 points on us after our performance in the first three quarters today. That’s something I had not done since Donnan coached Georgia (pulling for the opposing team to make us look bad). I think it has to get much worse before it will get any better.
Also, you guys can forget about Damon Evans interfering with Richt’s staff. He just isn’t going to do it. The only way Richt’s staff is going to change is if Richt is the one pulling the trigger. To be frank, I don’t see him doing that with either of his coordinators. Bobo has too many kids to feed, and Martinez was Richt’s college roommate. He won’t fire either of them, and Evans will let the lot of them stick around UGA until the money stops flowing in from the donors (hint hint).
That said, I do think Richt is a good guy. I think that he wants to win, but I don’t think it’s the most important thing to him. For coaches like Meyer and Saban, winning is the only thing. Maybe Richt will decide to retire and go to Central America on some missions with Tebow or something and Georgia can hire someone with some fire like Jon Gruden or Bill Cowher.

Change this stupid offense! Put some more wrinkles in there and so we utilize the play makers. This offenser relies to much on an accurate QB with a big arm. Cox does not have that! Give it to the speedsters! Spread out the offense a bit! Good gosh, if there’s no fire from the coaches then there will be none from the players! Woo hoo – you realize how much fun it is to get on this site and read this stuff? I’ve been “that guy” on the UT sites for two years now and to see you guys complaining it’s downright funny.

I was there on the 40 yard line on the UGA side. You guys’ defense is pretty weak, keep in mind our QB was a top recruit but melts down under pressure, once you guys let him get in a groove it was over for you. Your QB basically sucks too – I read the hype on him but he wasn’t worth a damn.

But in the end, relax people, you guys are in a down year. You have a good coach and decent players. Don’t get impatient and do something you’ll regret. It’s just that the rest of the SEC is hungrier than you…..

Never seen a UGA team play with this little heart. I’ve been critical of Richt’s coaching style for a few years and have caught a lot of heat for it. He is just to relaxed out there. That is okay if your an offensive coordinator but as a head coach it kills the team. Still he has won games over the years so I have just dealt with it. It has gone to far now. His loyalty, which is great, is killing him. Coordinators who obviously don’t know how to prepare a team and a QB that works his ass off but just not the ability. At least try Logan or Aaron, at least they might e able to run a little. I now believe it is time for a change. As for suggestions how bout that Standford coach, Jim Harbaugh. If he can win at Standford think about what he could do at UGA with all that talent.

That, along with 95% of these comments, is a sad commentary on both Georgia’s fan base and modern college sports generally. Under such standards, Coach Dooley would have been fired while Herschel Walker was still in grade school.

We play 8 games a year in the toughest conference in the country, by a large margin, and road games in some of the toughest venues in the country. You’re going to have down years. We haven’t had one, a sub-8 win season, in 13 years at Georgia, and we don’t know where this season is headed. Keep in mind that, two years ago coming home from Knoxville, it looked worse for us than it does tonight. A couple months later, and we were a popular pick as the best team in the country.

We’ll have to find a RB threat and a pass rush to make that happen this year. But a 6 or 7 win season shouldn’t put a coach with a 75% win percentage anywhere near the hotseat. Remember that the year before the 1980 season, we were a 5-6 football team.

We should be thrilled to average 8-10 wins a season with a solid coach and good man like CMR.

We have a program to be proud of except for the moronic multiple arrests. Coach is a great man and a lifelong leader of my dawgs if he wants to be.

Over the last 15 games we have given up 41 pts to Bama, 38 to LSU, 49 to Florida, 38 to Ky, 45 to GT, 37 to SC, 41 to Ark, and now 45 to TN. 8 out of 15 games we have given up 37 or more points! Horrible.

Coach Richt has the ability to be a good coach. He has shown a good mind for the game. It just seems that somewhere around the time we got shellacked by Alabama while dressed in black, that his heart stopped being in the game. That may be too harsh. Maybe distracted is a better description. Either way, the team has been poorly coached for the last dozen or more games…..maybe all the way back to the start of last season. Very poorly coached – not ready at the whistle, not prepared for what the other teams have shown. When was the last time we had a good first half in an SEC game? Whether the distractions are personal or he’s just lost his shine, I sincerely hope the coach does a gut check, a program check and, win or lose, fields a team prepared to play the game.

I’ve never jumped on the fire the coaches band wagon…. but when you get paid that much money and your program has yet to achieve what other coaches’ have within the first couple of years of their hiring, you’ve got to be man enough to fire your staff and bring in people who can win or the athletic director has to be man enough to fire you for not doing your job.
I love Coach Richt, but I do think it’s the coaching, not the talent. It’s time he’s show us that he’s capable of handling the program.

Having lost the likes of Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno, Georgia’s regression was inevitable. I’m not 100% sure I agree with the author’s assertion that LSU and Bama are boat racing Georgia. The Gators are a notch above the competition but Bama and LSU? LSU is a goal line stand and a ridiculous celebration penalty away from being the Raycom game today. Alabama got waxed by Florida and, uhm, Utah after their so called return to glory. They’re a good team on the upswing but I am not sure I am consider them to be dominant by any means.

Also, I’d steer clear of blaming the coordinators for everything. The Randy Sanders saga went on for years at UT and things got no better when we ran him off. Next thing you knew, he was coaching Andre Woodsen to record setting years at Kentucky.

I’d take a deep breath before the Dawg fans create a cr*p storm of gloom and oom that does nothing but create a bad vibe and drive recruits away and on-team talent (AJ) to the NFL early.

Typically I am not a fan of your columns but today, either from reading my posts over the last three weeks or just getting the joke today, you hit a home run. UGA is in big trouble and it starts with coaching… not fundamentals or philosophy but in understanding exactly what you have as a team and calling the right X’s and O’s. Georgia right now is trying to be a pro team… in the pros, you have your system and you find the players to fit your system. In college, there is no money so it is determined by who selects to attend your school. Georgia’s coaching staff has done a miserable job in using the tools they have to select a system for the players versus the players for a system. I love our philosophy, just the execution of that, we don’t have the right players. If our current offensive scheme is not putting our O-line in position to do more, then you CHANGE THE FREAKIN SCHEME… change the play type. On D, WIllie Martinez a, doesn’t inspire passion but b, doesn’t run the right scheme…. okay, we don’t have great DE’s for a 4-3… then change things and run a 3-4. We have three beasts in Weston, Atkins, and Owens. Move Houston to a OLB, move Rennie on the other side and let Gamble and Washington control the middle… Now you have two defacto DE hybrids able to rush… or if you don’t like that… run a 3-3-5… we have great physical specimans on the d backfield…. use their talents… don’t scheme for what you run but where your strength lies… Today against Tennessee, we see the flaws in the coaching and a flaw in what we really deserve to see. Richt needs to re-evaluate Bobo’s ability to be the O coordinator and fire both Martinez and Searls…. both are not making it happen. If Coach SS is not at fault for the O-line play, then Bobo is at fault and needs to go. Either way, we have the talent to compete. I don’t ask for NC every year or SEC Championships every year, but put a consistent product on the field. Deliver what we all want… a hard nose aggressive D and a strong running attack peppered with the ability to see fantastic receiver play.

Its time for D. Evans to look forward to next season. This season is lost. The AD cannot wait for CMR to decide what to do. Its time for changes. Begin looking for a new DC and OC. Go outside and spend some money on one of these talent tanks to recommend some bright young coordinators w/winning records. Be forthright w/both Bobo and WM. Let them know they will not be working for the Univ next season. Do not demote them just release them. They’ll find a job somewhere I’m sure. Allow these new coord to bring in their own asst’s. Keep Searles and Gardner but the rest go.

Tennessee is one of the banner programs in the SEC, second only to Bama in tradition, wins, etc…UT, being down for a few years, stepped up and made some changes…Georgia needs to think of doing the same. Not sure if pink slipping CMR is the answer but the Willie and Bobo show needs to go. Georgia too is one of SEC’s banner programs and it would benefit to act sooner than later. Just use Tennessee as an example. CPF, as important he was/is to their program, they waited a couple years too long to pull the trigger.. But, now they got something brewing up their in Knoxville and the rest of the SEC will be served notice soon enough. Kiffin hit the ground running, both his mouth and with a plan. As much as he been lampooned, I actually think he may be the right hire for them. He’s got a set and he and his staff don’t seem to give two chits about what the media or anyone else thinks. Recruits have obviously responded to this favorably and so has the players, compared to last year. UT is young, inexperienced but unlike last year, they keep playing hard and don’t quit. I don’t see that fight in Georgia and that’s not Georgia football…I don’t want to see Georgia struggle, nor do I want to see Tennessee, Bama, LSU, AU, or Fla. struggle…These six programs are the SEC and the more competitive and strong, the better. Well, on second thought, screw the Gators.

So it sounds like the only defense for Richt is that he wins SEC titles. Where is that National Title? You’ll settle for an occasional conference title – and when was the last one? Miles and Meyer walk in and get both quickly. Saban’s on his way as well. But UGA fans settle for a token conference title that clearly will not come any time soon. He was great when the conference was weak. But the conference has moved on. Since his conference titles Miles, Saban, and Meyer come in and surpass him. Now Kiffin comes in and is 1-0 against Richt – and with a horrible team at that, not to mention in-state recruiting on the line. So just settle for mediocrity. Mark Richt has become the Phil Fulmer of the SEC – just settle for glory days gone by while others move on. In the corporate world, when your competition surpasses you, you make changes to surpass them. Living on yesteryear’s trophies? Good job Al Bundy…

Martinez is one of the finest DC in the country. We have the greatest staff in the SEC, Fabris is great with the DE and Special Teams, Searels is amazing with the OL and Richt provides the Leadership and kindness we look for in our Head Coach at Georgia. The Christian atmosphere which surrounds the courage and determination of our coaches, should be rewarded by our fans. These coaches are no 1 in this dawgs book!

Don’t look now but LSU is all tied up with FLA. This is the same LSU team that Richt was able to take to the last minute despite UGA having some stinky players this year. Richt is the only reason that UGA is competing this year. Without Richt UGA would be like Tech. Without some of this years stinky players UGA would be undefeated. Richt needs to run off the stinky players or demote them to Hargraves.

I think we all thought we would handle UT in a close one, like last week only with a W. I sure didn’t think it would be a beat down or that we would fall so far so fast. This really hurts. At least Kiffin didn’t hang 50 on us… Urban probably will, he never forgets! Changes must be made, but will they be made in time? Only Damon knows!

I know LSU has two NC’s but weren’t they 8-5 last year? When LSU won their second NC lets not forget that UGA was a better team and would’ve murdered them if it weren’t for UT pulling out 2 nailbiters against Vandy and UK to end the year. So they haven’t exactly left us in the dust. UF has just been the best lately and we have had trouble getting by them. If it were not for UF, UGA would have played for one or two NC’s. I like to think we are better than AU and we won’t run off a good coach because of one bad season but I think if Richt refuses to replace MB and WM then it might be coming. WM has never been able to stop the spread and MB and MR are the only two offensive coaches in the country who refuse to implement any of it. The team is just getting pushed around and that can’t happen, they aren’t physical, can’t tackle, can’t catch, run, or throw, too many penalties, the only positive is the special teams. Ever since BVG left the D has went steadily downhill, the O has at least had moments against Arkansas, and South Carolina but they are getting to cute. They don’t run the ball hard, and they don’t run enough. MR is going to have to bring in some new blood and I think he needs to try and grab Dick Bumpas from TCU. I know he’s a little long in the tooth but Monty Kiffin is a good 135 years old and that D looked good today, hell call Joe Kines. Offensively you need to get somebody to implement the Texas spread like Major Applewhite. I don’t know just a couple of names but they are a hell of a lot better than the names Bobo and Martinez.

I watch other teams play and I see determination, intensity and a will to win. I see Georgia play and it is as if they are on the field just to go through the motion(s). I watched the spring game between the defense and the offense. Everyone was talking about the job the defense did. Did anyone have guts enough to say the offense was so bad they made the defense look good. This team is poorly coached. Players do not have to like coaches they have to respect the coach and perform. Georgia will not be any better until CMR shakes up his assistants coaches. The longer he takes the more the team will regress.

This game finally did it for me. I am absolutely sick of this poorly coached talented team. We have great talent. There is no doubt in my mind. That talent is the only thing keeping us afloat. It really comes down to some really simple things. And CMR must fix those things if he ever wants to be a top-tier coach. It’s up to him. The life of a team comes from the coach.

1) Emotion- I am so sick of seeing the stoic face of CMR. Get fired up. Show some emotion. Show on the sidelines and in post game interviews. Get mad. Get happy. Get something! Call out the bad calls. Applaud the good plays and throw something on the bad, even if its a cup of water onto the ground. Do SOMETHING to show the kids you care. How did you save 07? Emotion. Dig deep and find out how to express it. Every coach shows it but you. If I hear that awww shucks crap again I am going to hurl something at you. Why? Because you wont do anything about it.

2) Fire CWM- He has to go. It’s been 3 years too long. The stats say it all. His D is terrible, but we have good players. It’s not the kids, it’s him. Fire him. If you are having trouble doing it, try these approaches. 1 ) stand next to a canon with him and yell “fired” as the canon fires. 2) Ask him if he like Earth Wind and Fired! Do it. Do anything. Or we will push for the same to be done to you

3) Fire Bobo. Sorry dude, that offense is TERRIBLE. It was terrible with a #1 and #12 pick in your backfield. It will always be bad as long as he runs it. He was an average QB and is an average OC. We have never had that “thing” since he has been calling the plays. I watch other teams and think “damn, why don’t we do that”? I am sick of asking that question. You should be too.

That is it. See, 3 simple steps. If you don’t think the team needs to feel the passion for winning, then you sir must go. You don’t get it. If you don’t get that these kids play because of passion, then beat it. We were all excited when you started. Okay first year, great second and always close from then on. Don’t get comfortable because it will suck to go somewhere like Minnesota like Tubby did. You’re on top, now act like it.

Richt sets the tone, you are correct. There just doesn’t seem to me to be a commitment to excellence. All he makes are excuses. Coach why not hold your players and coaches accountable. Since Van Gorder left his teams have always been soft, even in the overrated year of 07 when we got so much credit for beating Hawaii. We were fast then, but not tough.

He just doesn’t seem to DEMAND attention to detail and discipline and creating mental toughness.

Yes Dooley and Erk had some bad years but I don’t recall so many games where we lost as bad as Richt’s do the last several years. We just get landslided and give up huge chunks. It’s not just about the record, but it’s HOW we execute and he doesn’t seem to know how to get through to the coaches or kids, he just offers up excuses.

Didn’t CMR say the same thing after the Tech game last year to protect our poor coaching. Looks like he has done nothing since then, he is way too soft, as are his coaches. How can he say that he likes Bobo’s Boo Boos when we have not scored an offensive TD in 11 quarters? Do you think Urban or Nick would act this way? I thinks heads would be rolling. Looks like the “mat drills” have become a thing of the past. This is great for recruiting. CMR, get mad and do your job, quite protecting your old roomy, what pics does he have on you?

I don’t care how great your program is, how great your tradition is, you’re gonna have some off years fans. I’ve heard that B.S. saying from many fans”we don’t rebuild, we reload.” Yea, sure. UGA is going through it, Alabama went through it, Tenn. is going through it. Auburn is still going through it. But we’re the greatest, we should NEVER have lean seasons. I will bet anyone that UFA. is gonna go through tough times soon. Just sit back and watch. I love to see the big ones get knocked off. They always do sooner or later.
