Penalties, fumbles, tackling, etc. Two words describe the deterioration of UGA football over the past couple of years: discipline and fundamentals; and the lack of both of these can be attributed to poor coaching. Excessive penalties are unacceptable because they can be avoided by discipline. One of the priority tasks of coaching is to instill discipline in the players. UGA is a highly penalized team which is a bad reflection upon the coaching staff. UGA has a reputation for being penalty prone so that accompanies them onto the field. Guilt by association. Fundamentals, tackling, blocking, etc, are also part of the discipline of the game. The players' performance does reflect the quality of coaching.

Penalties, fumbles, missed assignments, etc.. Two words describe the deterioration of UGA football over the past couple of years: discipline and fundamentals; and the lack of both of these can be attributed to poor coaching. The coaches and players know the rules. Teams that are penalized (lack of discipline) get a reputation and whether they like it or not that reputation follows them. Penalty yards should be easy not to give up. One of the major tasks of coaching is to instill discipline in players. By performance this is not being done at UGA.

People are so quick to hate on UGA....One loss in the SEC and now we are below the bar in the SEC..It doesnt matter that they were in the game all day and it came down to the very end with #4 LSU who is above the bar in the SEC...Same song and dance after Joe Cox first game..Everyone wanted to put Grey in there right away.UGA is replacing a great QB and RB this year but if we are not undefeated we are below the bar and our couch isnt the right coach...Get real.

As a life long LSU and SEC football fan, I couldn't help but agreeing with your take on UGA football. We have to admit that Sabin set the tone and direction for LSU to become a top tier program. I don't know what it costs to be UGA season ticket holder and your booster club membership dues are, but at LSU, there are expensive as all get out. While I complain in the stands sometimes, my neighbors say " I'll pay the price but they better win". When you are surrounded by Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and Ole Miss and have to play Florida every year, you cannot accept being above average. I hope we haven't forgotten what Southern football represents and that we're not just a big business couched in college colors. We were lucky yesterday and I hope that UGA can win the rest of their SEC games (a daugther went to GA Tech), so GEAUX DAWGS, beat Florida.

I want to point out that the outcome of the LSU/Georgia was affected and basically dictated by a penalty from a referee that from my POV was a bad call.

Why are celebrations penalized in Collegiate Football? Thats half the game!

If there is going to be a celebration penalty, I want a referee to call this penaltyevery time:

1. A Navy/Army Cadat has to do push-ups.
2. the Fighting Irish Leprechaun runs on the field.
3. the USC Trojan runs around on his horse.
4. the Seminole mascot rides his horse.

Celebration of a touchdown by a team is part of the character of a Collegiate Football game. Remove that and there is no difference between a College game and NFL game. Say what you want about the ineffectiveness of the UGA offense, but when it counted, the OIffense scored. And then was wrongly penalized.

Here, and now, I call for a public and Independent Investigation of the referees at the UGA/LSU game for Racketeering charges.

Well The Defense did a little better yesterday. Joe Cox stunk yesterday..... The Offense was stagnant. They should have and could have put more points up on the board. I don't know what the future holds for the Dawgs... I know that they are playing substandard.....
