The Falcons should attempt to re-acquire TJ Duckett. I understand TJ was released today. Duckett was an extremely productive player for the Falcons during the glory years of Jim Mora/Mike Vick. In Moras first season as new rookie head coach, the Falcons went all the way to the nfc championship game. TJ Duckett was an integral member of that team. Lets bring the diesel back so we can relive the glory years with THUNDER and LIGHTNING in the backfield.

Decatur 4 Life -

Agreed that other pro athletes have gotten away with things. I always thought Steve Howe and his drug habit were a black eye to major league baseball. I think he was reinstated at least 5 times, maybe more.

Vick is a treated differently because he was the face of a franchise. Not that he should be threated differently because of that but it is what it is...

Suck it Nerd, What about the people who do wrong and never get any jail time, they're able to continue playing like nothing happened. People talk about what happened to Dante' Stallworth but Danny Heatly was in similar trouble and never was reprimanded by the NHL. The fact is, professional athletes always get off easy, my problem is why is Vick over-analyzed and people want an example made out of him.

What do you mean Vick's mom did a horrible job in raising children? That a low blow, her children are grown men making dumb decisions. I might blame it on the absence of a positive male role model, regardless they grown men. BLAME THEM, NOT MOM

A homeless bum who was allowed to keep properties in VA and several automobiles. Not too bad. I did say "resume life". I didn't say he didn't suffer consequences. I happen to agree with the idea that Vick has paid his debt for his crimes. I also happen to think he shouldn't be suspended. After all, wasn't he suspended for two years while he was in jail??

My point was that in every day life these kinds of opportunities don't exisit. If you go to jail it is difficult, if not impossible, to find a job that is the equivilant of what you had before you went to jail.

You're next argument will be that he is making less etc, etc. That's true but he's still getting a better opportunity than most convicted felons (unless they too are professional athletes).

Jewell: you are right on the money. You couldnt have said it any better. But to be more precise, Vick went from being the richest NFL player in the history of the league to the poorest of the poorest homeless bums out on the streets. THE ECONOMIC PENDULUM SWUNG ALL THE WAY FROM THE TOP TO THE DEPTHS OF THE BOTTOM. Vick lost all of his endorsments, bar none. Vick ruined his reputation in terms of getting future endorsments. Vick tarnished his reputation in the league, not just with the Falcons but among nearly all of the nfl teams. And if that was not enough, Roger Goddell brings down the sledgehammer hard on Vick and gives him a six game suspension just to make an example out of him. Its absurd but people with power abuse it and in this case the commissioner abused his power. Vick had already paid his debt to society; the PETA people and everyone else and then comes the piling on by the commissioner. Well, hopefully Vick will have learned his lessons and will cease his dogfighting operations for good.
