Very good article Schultz. God will forgive Michael Vick a lot easier than he will forgive these people who are unwilling to give Vick a 2nd chance and steadily want to continue to crucify him . I hope that they realize that when they stand before their maker and it's their turn to be judged. PETA should spend their time working for MADD. They kiss their dogs in the mouth while eating a hamburger/hotdog. They go out to eat and don't think twice about eating Lobster. And you know that plenty of these hillbillies on this site love to fish. That fish hook catches the fish on the eye, mouth, down their throat, wherever. You rip it out of their bodies and skin them alive. Is that humane? I hear them say "hide your dogs" that is stupid. Do you think that Vick will go around killing just any old dog? It was a old sport that has been around for years. Vick is not the only one that did it. People continue to do it to this day. I personally would never do it but I've known people that talk about it. It just never was my thing. Vick made a big mistake like many young people do. It was bad but he didn't kill another human being. Some young people make that critical mistake and have to live with it. A few years ago a hockey star killed his good friend (another hockey player) while driving drunk. Where were all of you Hypocrites then? I didn't read nor did I see all of this strong reaction and protesting displayed against that athlete. He was able to continue his hockey career and did not serve any real jail time. What Michael Vick did not realize is how some of these people hold dogs and cats in higher regards than they do people. They buy pet health insurance, pet Cemetery, chemotherapy treatments, pet camps, pet vacation plans, etc... You see a dog doesn't judge their sick,Hypocritical, twisted, psychotic souls. The pets just love their owner unconditionally even though they are evil unforgivings #ssholes. Their pets can tell them the truth about their pathetic selves so in turn these twisted minded people just love the hell out of them as though they were a human being. Sad ain't it? Must of us love our pets too but we don't kiss them in the mouth, put them in our cars ever other day, or allow them to sleep in the bed with us. I had a child hood dog that grew up right along side of me from grade school to college. He lived for 19yrs. I had 2 big outside dogs about 10 years ago that lived to be over 18yrs old. I had a Poodle that live to be 16yrs old and died about 5-6 yrs ago. He grew up with the kid. He was older than the kids. I loved all of those dogs dearly but they were dogs, not human beings!! I understood the difference. I also know that was not the kind of dogs that Vick plucked off the streets to fight. That ritual started in the South and back east many many years ago. It started with chickens (cock fights) and the people that started it did not look like Michael Vick. He spread throughout the country and exist right up to this very day. Many people get caught doing it often but of course they aren't a high profile athlete. Most people's problem is that Vicks occupation and God given talents allows him to be able to make millions. That is the root of the problem for most of the haters. They will never make that kind of money. they'd rather have him unemployed and going back to dog fightng instead of correcting his errors. Justice would be if these same haters find their little brats, sons, daughter, grand kids, involved in a situation due to being young and dumb, and using bad judgement, maybe fall in line with the wrong crowd and find themselves standing in a big pile of doo doo. These same hater would swear up and down that their little angle did not do it! Even though they are guitly as sin these haters will be in denial because their little saint could not have possibly committed such a terrible act. It would serve the haters right if their young person got caught up in the legal system, found guilty, and have to serve the rest of their lives paying for it without any forgiveness. That woudl be justice. You can easily see their comtempt for high profile atheletes by the mockery that they use for their screen names "Peion Deion" "Hershal Talker" They need say no more because we already know where they stand. One of them said "Vick like men". No need to take him seriously because we already know what's on his mind. He's saying what he's doing himself. Probably wanting to be Vicks boy-girl friend. The sicko!! Someone mentioned race in this discussion well let's just be real about it.... why is it that most (almost all) of the haters against Vick resemble the Pennsylvania Heath care town hall meeting earlier in the week which was full of conservative republican full of misguided misinformed ranting and ravings and most(almost all) of People of Color are willing to forgive and forget and move on? Let's be real about it.. Many of those folk don't have much tolerance for high profile atheletes of color. Its just the simple truth. Bill Romananowski (Bronco's LB) spit on J.J Stokes during a football game. No backlash whats so ever. A certain Hispanic baseball player spit on a ump during a game some time back and he was booed at ever game after that. Vick will play well and he will play often even with McNabb on the field.I know that plan but I, like Andy Reid, am not going to give up the plan. I'll just say this, Michael will have plenty of opportunity to make scoring plays. So how about that? In closing I'd just like to say " Hate On Haters"! I am for Michael Vick making fully redeeming himself and if it's good enough for our Lord and Savior it's good enough for me. HATE ON HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Philly and wanted to check out the Atlanta fans reaction..We had similar reaction when we got rid of our own problem, Terrell Owens, a few years ago.. Hoping Vick can contribute something to the Eagles in his Prime he really was awesome to watch and as a fan I knew with Vick as the Falcons QB the game could go either way.. We'll be good to him up here in Philly as soon as all these Out of Town PETA protesters go home to the suburbs..

Sorry, I forgot. Heatley had all the intention in the world of killing Snyder. He planned it, financed it, and then decided to tell the whole world that he had nothing to do with it until he was caught with evidence against him. That car accident is exactly like financing an illegal gambling ring. You are 100% right. If that is your only argument with my last post I should be the one to say "NEXT!" to you! Heatley was at fault, there is no denying that - but he also took blame, went to court and paid his dues - then shafted Atlanta by requesting a trade. I also notice you say nothing about Dante Stallworth, who I mentioned, who also made a mistake of getting behind the wheel and causing a death. I'm sure he planned it as well. Get over yourself, and get over the race issue.

Jeff,

If you're blogging from your couch, while watching a sports related news conference, does that make your couch tax deductible? Just curious.

RE-OPENING commenting here just for a short time.

Mercenary – I used to have one of those Bobbles but it fell off the desk and his head broke off. True story. I’ll give you $5 and a Coors Light for it.

Cap – I covered those 49ers teams. Wouldn’t say Young did nothing. Walsh traded for him because he knew talent he had and would’ve started Young right away if he didn’t have greatest NFL QB in history as the starter.
