Here's what a contract looks like, but this one is from 1941 and I don't think Vick is that desperate yet.
OK. So you expected suddenly a dozen coaches were going to declare: “I want Vick!”?
If you haven’t noticed, NFL teams have fallen over themselves to declare their respective teams out of the Michael Vick derby. We’re up to 18. Now, none of this means Vick won’t be signed. Thirty-one teams can say no but it only takes one to give Vick a contract. But it does illustrate how quickly some coaches and front office executives wanted the Vick Distraction doused in their city.
So here’s the thing. There are 14 teams who’ve said nothing so far. Thanks in part to the aggregation of ProFootballTalk.com, you’ll see the 18 teams below that have publicly declared they have no interest in Vick. To make this easier to digest, I listed all 32 teams in order of last year’s standings. If there’s a line through the team, it’s out of the Vick Derby.
If there’s one safe bet, it’s that Vick won’t be playing in the NFC East. Every team in that division has pulled out. Below the standings, I list the 14 teams that haven’t made a public statement on Vick, broken into two categories: Possible contenders and less likely to have an interest.
Around the league . . .
(Disclaimer: “Already out” category means only that a club official or coach is on the record as say saying they have no interest. That doesn’t mean they can’t change their mind.)
ALREADY OUT (18): Atlanta, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Miami, N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Jets, Philadelphia, St. Louis, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Washington.
POSSIBLE CONTENDERS (5): Arizona, Baltimore, Minnesota, Oakland, New Orleans
LESS LIKELY TO HAVE INTEREST (9): New England, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Cleveland, Carolina, Denver, Green Bay, San Diego.

Vick to the Pats makes sense because it is the type of move the evil genius in New England would make. Sign Vick for nothing, build up his value, then trade him to the Raiders for a first rounder.
Chicago also seems to be one of the worst QB evaluating teams over the past few years, not counting the Jay Cutler miracle of 2009, so they may take a shot on him.
Arizona and the Raiders would basically be saying we give up on our over priced recent QB picks if they went with him. I don’t think they are quite ready to take that hit yet.
Baltimore is certainly a possibility because, as was mentioned before, they are experienced with the bad publicity. I am sure they also think Ray Lewis can keep Vick in check so it may not be too risky of a signing.
Minnesota does make the most sense though. They have already shown zero confidence in their QB’s with the Favre fiasco. The Viking’s running game, turf and Childress style of offense also complement Vick’s attributes.

I agree that Vick deserves a second chance..but in society, not the NFL. He had a chance that only a select few get and he blew it. He was given a talent and wasted it. Whether any pro athlete wants to admit it or not, they ARE a role model. It is a lifestyle choice that is made when going in this type of field just as any other entertainer. I don’t want this kind of roll model for my kids. Good luck to Vick in his endeavors and I hope he becomes a fruitful member of society. However, the NFL is no longer the place for him.

Turd Ferguson – First of all, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you or knowing you. The article is about Mr. Vic and nobody else. Attacking anybody personally is a sign of your weakness but I am not here to make a comment about you and nobody else behavior on blogging. The old sayings was “Nobody knows that you only have a third grade education until you open up your mouth to speak” What Mr. Vic did was wrong and he paid dearly for it. I am here to support him and the future team that would receive him because we are about forgiving the people that have paid the time in correcting their issues in this society. Now, if Mr. Vic decides to go the other way again, then he is on his own without my support. Far as going back to Mexico, I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting the state yet. I am sure that it is a lovely place to visit for a vacation and I will put it on my vacation list for the future. Would you care to join us? Not one NFL team have a perfect record. Just enjoy the game and if not get involve into something else that is positive, respectful, and not belittling anybody else. Life will be much happier for those that do practice in living peaceful.

Its amazing how people forget. Mike Vick used to be the most loved athlete in Atlanta sports history when Vick was leading the Falcons to the NFC championship game and when he was rushing for over 1000 yards. Now that he is a convicted felon, people are a little reluctant to embrace Mike Vick. Well, hopefully with the help of Tony Dungy, Im hoping for Vick to emerge again as a superstar. I have write this blog or I will vomit all over my computer and keyboard from reading all the crap that has been written about Vick today. Most of it has come from KKK members, hate groups and racist groups because the sane people and the football fans I dont believe hate Mike Vick as much as people are leading on. I HOPE THESE ARE VICKS NUMBERS IN 2009: First of all, I hope he gets a starting qb position; I hope he throws for 4000 yards; throws 30+ touchdown passes, rushes for over 1000 yards; throws less than five picks; has a qb rating of over 100.0 AND wins league mvp honors and superbowl mvp honors, after leading his team to a superbowl victory. I hope Vick can accomplish that this year so it will silence all the Vick haters out there. Aahh. Good Riddens.

First, Michael Vick did not make a “mistake.” He was very well aware of what he was doing. Second, he has paid his debt to “society.” Like it or not, he has done the time given to him by society’s current mechanisms. Lastly, the only ones that will pass judgement on Michael Vick’s NFL career are the team owners and GM’s. I’m afraid that no one else’s opinions matter in this regard. So, everyone take a deep breath and let things run their course.

Please stop making VICK the new platform for racist. bY the way IT has existed from the beginning of time. I thought that we had rose above the problem. However, I guess VICK’S situation has opened up a new dialogue in the world of sports. We have the ability to move on and be a FAN that loves the game, not necessarily the man. Give him a chance to prove himself. I believe he can do more good for football, than harm. I am a season ticket holder for the FALCONS, but I will watch VICK play because he is an outstanding athlete and brings excitement to the game. GOOD LUCK, MIKE!

What’s wrong with you folks that think Vick shouldn’t have the right to work in his profession. He’s paid his debt to society. He’s proably suffered more than any of you ever will, that’s not for you to judge. But, it is for you to forgive and give a 2nd chance always to the living for up to that point it is not too late.

I think you have to look at what kind of offense a team runs. On Sports Center, they talked about the Steelers considering Vick. That would be a great situation for Vick, he could be a better version of Kordell Stewart and Antwan Randle El. The Steelers are known for their creavity on offense and they’re a great organization that takes care of it’s players. Dan Rooney is a great owner!
But if that doesn’t work out, then I can see Vick going to the Tennessee Titans. If Vince Young can’t get his act together this year, he’s gone! And Kerry Collins is solid for now, but he can’t last forever. Vick is a better version of Vince Young and I can see him working well with Jeff Fisher. The Titans also aren’t afraid to mix it up on offense, and Fisher doesn’t mind having running QB. He loved the late Steve McNair! The only drawback here could be that the Titans don’t want another PR nightmare like they got from Pacman Jones.
Those would really be the best options for Vick, but then again “Beggars Can’t be Choosers” at this point.

What is it with Micheal Vick and you, Jeff Schultz. Do you think this man should never, ever eat again? Why are you so against Michael Vick working again in the NFL? How hateful of you and anyone else who think MV has not paid for his crime and should not get another chance. He is sorry for what he did, so LET HIM GO ON WITH HIS LIFE! What I hope is he gets on with a team and they come back and beat the living **** out of the Atlanta Falcons. Now, that is what I call payback.

While it is obvious that Michael was capable of jaw dropping highlights, broke multiple RUSHING records and that he is/was an amazing athlete (black, white or otherwise), his overall effectiveness as a QB was average at best. His physical ability compensated for his lack of mental and leadership skills and I’m happy he’s no longer a Falcon QB. That said, the man has paid his debt to society as was determined in a court of law and he should be able to return to his trade if anyone is willing to hire him. Personally, I’m rooting for a comeback story of a fellow human being with a happy ending, even if it means returning kicks and punts for TD’s in Minnesota.

I’m a long, long time Falcons season ticket holder and my thoughts are with Matt Ryan and the “birds”. If MV plays in the NFL again…so be it; if MV does not play again the NFL…so be it (you know?). I’d like to see the day when his crime is not compared with someone else’s criminal behavior. He committed a crime…PERIOD…life goes on; if I had the chance to meet him face-to-face, my comment to him would be this: Like every human on this planet, you’re going to die someday so live your life the best you can and try real hard not to create any more regrets for the rest of your life and make an extra effort to be happy about SOMETHING…every day!!

Don’t know if you guys read this article (see link below) but Roger Goodell frames his thoughts very well on the conditions of Vick’s reinstatement. Not all media sources displayed or reported all of the statements in the letter and I would encourage everyone to read what Goodell wrote to Vick. I think Goodell’s conditions are very fair based on the circumstances and I am glad to see Vick given a 2nd chance(or as some view it…a 3rd, or 4th chance) ,although I agree with what some of you said in this thread that he has not “earned” it yet to play again. Lets face it, MV7 is one hell’uv an exciting player to watch. More importantly I hope he can truely move beyond his past and come out of “life” as a hero…beyond what he does on a football field his “personal” rehabilitation would be the REAL come back story!!!

Wow Shabba sure has all us white folks down. First of all I doubt Roger Goodell was going to personally net $130 million plus endorsments over 10 years, pretty sure the athletes make more than their “masters” so to speak. However he may have more money because he doesn’t spend it on 20 matching Bentlys. Also i’m the last to stir up race issues and i’m indifferent on the Vick situation but black people using Obama every chance they get is beyond ignorant, me along with many other white people voted for him because we believed his stances were what we needed at this time not because of his race, FYI he is just as much white as black 50/50 to be exact. So all you folks saying you voted for him because he’s black i’m just going to start saying i voted for him because he’s white.
