I've never understood why Tech doesn't develop a relationship with the student bodies from neighboring non-football schools like Clayton State, Kennesaw State, Ga State (until recently), etc. Offer discounted tickets or other promotions and help turn these students into one day sidewalk alumni. My best friend from back in my days on The Flats turned into a die hard Tech fan while he was at Ga State all because I used to sneak him into the home games with me. Now, many years later, he still attends Tech games... this time as a paying patron.

Using the same USUAL distorted logic that dawg fans ALWAYS use, then we can look back at the following games, and see how GA just got "incredibly lucky" to win those games.

2004: GA 19 - GT 13
2005: GA 14 - GT 7
2006: GA 15 - GT 12

2002 game was a complete beatdown for a very unprepared Chan Gailey and team. 2003 was more of the same. Even CMR is ON RECORD saying in the 2007 game how lucky GA got, recovering 3 GA TO's in the GA end zone.

2002-2007: GT hired a complete idiot for a HC; had the HC out for a time with a heart attack; went thru 3 OC's; hired a new DC; played with a chaotic & unaccountable QB; played with a limited roster because of lost scholarships to NCAA violations; replaced the AD, etc. etc.

And GA couldnt beat GT by more than 7 points in 3 straight years. You dont have to guess hard to see which team...UNDER-PERFORMED.

All the CG era problems GT suffered from for the past 7+ years are gone. A whole new ATTITUDE has taken hold on North Ave. Theres a new sheriff in town.

Hope you enjoyed the last 7 years mutts. The next 7 promise to be VERY DIFFERENT.

You'll know it for sure when GT D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-S the fleabags in Atlanta in November.

Folks, CPJ and GT...ARE JUST GETTIN STARTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

In fact, Tech fans, you should be proud of defeating UGA last season because its my first time ever that I read your blog, I always thought you are insignificant to care about! any way I have a brilliant idea in order to fill up your stadium, MAKE it SMALLER!!! tataam. instead of 55k seats make it 30k. another thing if your Police can actually go to work and stop the robberies

Barnhart made a good observation several weeks ago when he quoted an old, but highly respected college footbal coach that basically said a good college coach typically has a 10+ year run; a little more if they winning, a little less is their losing. Barnhart used examples like Fulmer, Tubberville, and others who all "peaked" (in fan support) after about 10 years or so. What often "postpones" a HC chnage for another couple of years is a chnage at OC and/or DC. Look a just about any program anywhere, that MO is always the same.

This will be CMR's 8th year at GA, and after 2008 beatdowns from Bama, and FL, AND losing to GT in Athens no less, you can tell from GA fans' posts that the CMR "shine" has defintely started to tarnish in the minds of the fans. Remeber all the BS when 24 & 7 left about "unfilled promise" and "unrealized potential." That was really a way for GA fans to say their pissed that their (along with all their money the past 8 years), and there's no NC ring to show for it.

A "sub-par" (8-4 or possibly 7-5) season and another loss to GT in 2009, and you're gonna hear all kinds of grumbling about how CMR "just can't get it done."

You see, big money GA fans are not gonna keep dropping $10,000+ just for "rights" to season tix, if CMR "can't deliver." Especially not in this economy. All that money (made when ecoomy was good) only bought 2 SEC titles, and No NC's. 2008 was supposed to be THE YEAR for a NC.

You see, the "power money" is gonna start grumbling (is already grumbling) about how much money they've given over past 8+ years, wondering what they have to show for it.

Sorry GA fans, but the 2009 team without 24 & 7, the schedule, and the expectations are on a collision course for disappointment.

CMR will "buy" himself another couple of years of fan support after he throws Martinez on the scarifical alter. After a new DC comes in that makes little progress, it will fall to CMR to be "changed."

What is this constant talk of "bandwagon fanbase"? Are you not allowed to be a fan of UGA if you didn't go to school there? Is there something wrong with that? The University of Georgia represents the great state of Georgia and its communities.

I was born in Georgia, but raised mostly in Tennessee. Some family members attended Georgia, so I was raised a Dawg. I didn't end up going to UGA....instead graduation from UT-Chattanooga, actually am an engineer (sorry fellow dogs), still live in Chattanooga...but also still love the hell out of my dawgs and get excited when being in the Bulldog Nation.

I don't get this thing that if you didn't attend, then you shouldn't be a fan....its an shameful elitist-type attitude

with a radio call like "the hobnail boot" you would think herschel walker ran 60 yards for a score out of the back field, but no instead it was form some random game in which david greene playaction passes to the fullback or tightend, wtf? Munson is the quintessential voice of college football too bad he is/was on the dark side
