Nick Swisher are inflated due to the line-up around him, not to mention he plays in a park that sees more dingers than Coors Field. Which leads me to Brad Hawpe, isnt he batting like .500 at home??? A solid #4 hitter like Dunn would make sense, yeah he strikes out a ton but so does Ryan Howard. Kawakami is precisely what you'd expect from # 4 or 5 starter. Still not sure of the McClouth trade, Juan Pierre may have been a better suited leadoff hitter

Release anderson, kawakami. The braves have jorge campillo coming back who could replace kawakami. The braves have several older prospects that may be ready for the majors but they could be shipped off for a player like Brad Hawpe who is making $5.5 million a year and with the money they could save from not havin to pay anderson and kawakami and with that money they could be payin Hawpe a million or two more for a 2-4 year contract. Francouer had two good RBI years but had OBP lower than .300 and probably never have a good year again. If you could trade him trade him for a person who could fill his spot( average would fill the spot)( My choice for the spot Nick Swisher. Kelly Johnson could be traded for a fair second baseman. Mclouth will be strong in Center even though they traded three good prospects. To me this would be a good braves team.

Rotation
1. Javy Vasquez
2. Derek Lowe
3. Jair Jurrjens
4. Tommy Hanson
5. Jorge Campillo

Position Players
1b. Casey Kotchman
2b. Felipe Lopez (Diamondbacks)
SS. Yunel Escobar
3b. Chipper Jones
C. Brian Mccan
Lf. Nick Swisher (Yankees)
Cf. Nate Mclouth
Rf. Brad Hawpe (Rockies)

These are all players that Frank Wren went after and didn't get. This doesn't prove that Frank Wren is a competent GM for not landing these lemons. It means Frank Wren only goes after crappy players past their prime! The Braves are saddled with Kawakami (who had a bad back playing B-rate Japanese ball) for God knows how long, paying him in the neighborhood of $10 million a year. I'd rather have a one-year commitment to Glavine for $3 million or Smoltz for $6 million. As long as Kawakami is eating up 12.5% of the Braves payroll (a la Mike Hampton), this team is going NOWHERE.

Change that--as long as Frank Wren is the GM, this team is going NOWHERE.

hello everyone, I remember reading on this blog during spring training
and hearing all of these braves fans talking about how ready JS was
boy were yall wrong, imo i would have kept Josh A because of his speed
and ability to swipe bases, if given the chance he would have been a good center fielder for us but yall wanted schafer and you got him, I
have yet to hear anyone say that they were wrong about JS, all i hear
is he's not ready, he's killing us, what do yall want, the division is still within reach if a couple of things happen, SIT JEFF & KELLY now
play DIAZ & PRADO they hit and when infante come back put him on the field, the playoff are not won by the long ball, they are won by teams that play good ABC ball( situational hitting, timly hits, moving runners over, and good defense) go look it up. If these things happen we will be fine....GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK. I'm sorry. But this may be the worst offensive baseball team I have ever seen. Sick of seeing good starting pitching going down the drain day after day after day. Kind of ironic that the 1 run scored was knocked in by Francouer. Everybody seems to take turns going into slumps.
