[...] Some perspective from Mark Richt. A lineman went down in the first tackling drill. A lineman went down in the second tackling drill. “You start thinking, ‘My gosh. We’ve lost two guys in the first 45 seconds of practice,’” Mark Richt said Monday. “That’s sort of how the whole year went for us. You think about things like that and, yes, I’ve got to say it was a reflection on how we prepared for games. I put that on me.” It has been over two months since Georgia’s last football game. It will be six months before their next one. Sometime between now and then, the Bulldogs need to relocate their edge, toughness and resolve, which Richt now concedes was so obviously missing last season. He blames himself. On the eve of spring practice, the Bulldogs coach said Monday he erred by running softer practices last season after the team began accumulating so many injuries so early." Richt: "It's time to go back to old school." | Jeff Schultz [...]

There is no National Championship in College Football

March 17th, 2009

Your point is so irrelevant. Who care what is called! The bottom line is one team is crown the Champion for college foot ball each year. Everything outside of the championship game and the conference championships is a consolation prize given so some team can feel good (like Georgia)for losing. Who cares whether its call a national championship or BCS Championship. Duh! The point is there is only one championship for college football on a national scale. What Ever!

I guess you dont understant. I am a Dog fan and Have been one all my life. Im just tired of losing. You can accept being an also-ran but I cant!
Lets deal with reality, DoggieDiaper, is right. Be man enough to admit it. The only way to get better it to deal with the truth. Truth is Mark Richt did blow those games and he is a lame coach. My hope is that we get someone here who can help us win championships not glamor or popularity contest. How about a national championship...Thats WHAT WE PLAY FOR!!!. How about setting higher goals than ocassionally winning (backdoor) a sec divisional championship and lets do like a real college team and get a national championship or two. How about 2 every 10-12 years? That would make us a dominate team and a team worthy of national respect. Just keeping in real. Stop whinning and stand up like a man. Only accepting the truth will make us better. Calling another also-ran season as a banner year fools nobody but you! Well Maybe Shultz.

Its funny how the Bull puppies can accept mediocracy and call it great. I guess youve grown accustomed to losing out on the things that matter like...a national championship and theyve grown complacent with saying we be Tennesse or Vandebelt or some division II school. Its sad.
Top five recruiting class for 8 or 10 years running no national title. No. Not one. Not even close. No I dont count being not technically mathematically elimanated as being close. Yeah, Right. close.. hahahaha.
10 years of consolation prizes, trips to the peach bowl or some off brand like a bluebonnet bowl. Dude. Be for real. There are serious teams out there that produce. No hail mary's or I hope florida loses so we can mathematically still have a chance! Dude! How about winning a national something..What a loser Richt is! So much talent, so little results. One of his two sec titles was because of default. Spare me. Look as USC or Florida or LSU Or Ohio State. Champions and recognize as such. Most national championship contenders think of the puppies as a joke. The puppies will bow down and weakly fumble away their season. They do it all the time. Richt is a loser as a coach. You can argue all you like, but at the end of the season well be waiting for an invitation to a bowl that wont be a national championship bowl. What I cant understand is how can Georgia rank in the top 4 f or players in the pros but not be close to an national championship under Richt. Yeah right, Whatever!
