Conservatives have no interest in what Chris Christie might say

Yup, it's a real head-scratcher.

Yup, it's a real head-scratcher.

Chris Christie is a nationally popular Republican governor of a blue state in the Northeast, a region where the GOP barely remains competitive. He has a 74 percent approval rating, in a state that Barack Obama carried by 18 percentage points. In fact, no Republican presidential candidate has managed to carry New Jersey since 1988.

Yet Christie has been pointedly NOT invited to speak to the highly influential Conservative Political Action Conference, which meets in Washington, D.C. next month. The confab is widely considered an essential showcase for Republicans with presidential aspirations.

Bobby Jindal will be there. A speech by Ted Cruz will close the convention. The NRA’s Wayne LaPierre has a place of honor on the program. Under the rubric “America’s Future: The Next Generation of Conservatives,” Republican up-and-comers Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul and Sarah Palin — wait, Sarah Palin? — will thrill convention-goers.

And for anyone who has grown nostalgic for those wonderfully intelligent, provocative 2012 Republican presidential debates, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum will play featured roles.

But no Chris Christie. According to CPAC organizers, the man has proved himself too liberal to be extended an invitation. The pristine conservative minds of CPAC attendees must not be offended by exposure to someone who dares to venture outside the approved ideology, even if that someone might offer the party a way out of the political wilderness. For much the same reason, the Log Cabin Republicans and GOProud, two gay Republican groups, have once again been banned outright from the convention.

So, same as it ever was.

No it wasn’t. indigo has a pathological hatred for Christians. I was censured once when I asked if he had been abused by a preacher so I won’t put forth the obvious source of animosity for one raised as a Christian, but he hates them with a whacked out passion. He attacks Christians and any mention of Christianity at any chance, real or perceived. I have yet to see him attack so virulently any other religion from paganism, to Islam, or Buddhism ect…….. only Christianity.

Why do you think he hates ME so much? I stood up to his irrational hatred and he despises me for it.

I vote for the GOP party, not the man. But the only way the GOP will win the White House come the next election is to promise voters they’ll give away more freebies than Obama did. Snake oil is in big demand and I’m not sure Christie has the stomach for that sort of politics.

It was a fair question. According to Pastor Jeffress, the Roman Catholic Church is the product of a Babylonian mystery religion.

Some Baptists seem to forget that sans the RC church, there would be no Baptists.

I did the born again thing years ago in high school. Started attending the neighborhood Baptist church. Joined, got dunked. But our preacher was a rabid anti-Catholic – about every 5 weeks or so he would go on a rant and just tear into ‘em. Pretty un-Christian if you ask me and as I had several good friends who were Catholics, it was uncomfortable and as a newbie it was very confusing.

Back to the future -- 1958

February 27th, 2013
8:43 pm

“The leader of the former Soviet Union Communist Party, Nikita Khrushchev promised his beloved Communism would bury the capitalistic West without declaring war. The plan was outlined in a fascinating book called “The Naked Communist,” written in 1958 by a man named Cleon Skousen who accurately warned Americans of troubles to come unless things changed.

Skousen laid out the dangers Americans faced, point by point, almost as a Communist roadmap to America’s demise: Progressives captured the Democratic Party (goal number 15), civil rights actions were taken in courts to “weaken basic American institutions”(16), the educational system was infiltrated (17), rioting like the Occupy movement was encouraged (19), the press was infiltrated (20), domination of the big screen and television waves (21), cultural standards of morality were broken down (25), homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity were presented as “normal” (26), churches were infiltrated by those promoting social justice (27), prayer in schools was eliminated (28). Moreover, the Constitution and founding fathers were discredited (29 & 30) and American culture belittled by those promoting “cultural sensitivity training” seminars similar to one recently uncovered by a video showing employees pounding on tables while chanting anti-American rants led by a man representing the organization, Souder, Betances, and Associate, reaping more than $3.3 million taxpayer funds, according to USASpending.gov.

Skousen may have been a prophet, seeing that most of his predictions came to pass. Too clever to be labeled Communists, they chose the name “Progressive” and in the name of change set out to dismantle the Constitution, piece by piece. Progress was slow but steady, that is until their savior, Barack Obama, arrived.”

WHY ARE AMERICANS SO ILL-INFORMED ??

The United States is the home of a vast syndicate that has been in firm control for decades, but only since 911 has it exerted stronger controls. In the process, much greater banker welfare has become the norm, as have tight reins to control the USCongress while integrating and enriching the military contractors, and more quietly the pharmaceutical giants with at times deadly vaccines. In order to maintain the charade of a national directive toward security, complete with all the earmarks of national socialism, the network news has been under very firm control. Dan Rather and Keith Olbermann can attest. Since the 1980 decade, the entire news conglomerates that include television, radio, newspapers, and journals has been subject to strict oversight by the USGovt security agencies. Since 911, the Homeland Security apparatus has exerted its controls. The ownership of the major network conglomerates is a short list, which in the 1970s consisted of 25 firms. Now it consists of a mere five firms. They have been totally woven into the security fold. A branch of Hollywood has also been grown from the security fold. The bias is evident in domestic political stories, international geopolitical stories, bank related stories, money related stories, economics stories, and financial market stories. The US citizens remain the worst informed people of any industrialized nation, and the most subjected to propaganda. The British are a close rival. The Goebbels methods are actively at work in propaganda widely disseminated.

This is a great article, although a little long for the attention span of those on this blog. I invite you to save it to your favorites or bookmark it and read it at your leisure.

Bob Woodward called a senior White House official last week to tell him that in a piece in that weekend’s Washington Post, he was going to question President Barack Obama’s account of how sequestration came about – and got a major-league brushback. The Obama aide “yelled at me for about a half hour,” Woodward told us in an hour-long interview yesterday around the Georgetown dining room table where so many generations of Washington’s powerful have spilled their secrets.

Digging into one of his famous folders, Woodward said the tirade was followed by a page-long email from the aide, one of the four or five administration officials most closely involved in the fiscal negotiations with the Hill. “I apologize for raising my voice in our conversation today,” the official typed. “You’re focusing on a few specific trees that give a very wrong impression of the forest. But perhaps we will just not see eye to eye here. … I think you will regret staking out that claim.”

Woodward repeated the last sentence, making clear he saw it as a veiled threat. “ ‘You’ll regret.’ Come on,” he said. “I think if Obama himself saw the way they’re dealing with some of this, he would say, ‘Whoa, we don’t tell any reporter ‘you’re going to regret challenging us.”

So Woodword feels threatened by aides. I wonder what this administration has done to conservative journalist.

I think the above is testament that Woodward, someone whom I have admired in the past, has become so full of himself that he has lost all sense of objectivity.

There is a HUGE difference between the two statements.
One says – say that and be proven wrong, it will be bad for you
The other says – say that and we will make life bad for you.

When you’re the current Conservahero and media darling, you have to go with the latter one if it deals with that evil, rich-hating, Marxist, Kenyan, Kenyesian, anti-Colonial, uppity knee grow Obama. You’ll be flogged for heresy for pointing out that statement could mean more than one thing. It’s all about the Chicago thug gangsta politician mentality for those who don’t agree with Obama, and Woodward’s soaking it all in and pocketing loads of cash thanks to the increasing book sales all his “drama” is ringing up.

Fred, the Hershey kisses are so good here in Maui. Your ideas were great. Don’t let folks you don’t agree with get you riled. You wrote that to me and I really appreciate it. Their or my minds won’t be changed anyway. Think about it and those Hershey kisses! Hmmm good! Think good thoughts! Nite to you!

“pocketing loads of cash ”

I’m always a little surprised at how gullible some people are. There is a HUGE amount of cash to be made by an amoral huckster if you are able to gin up some controversy about the President. The seething Republican base, so angry that one of Those People is President, will latch onto any hint of controversy, in an effort to find some scandal that will stick, and bring the guy down.

And that creates the opportunity for some has been like Woodward to get his name in the news, and make lots of money.

Jindal will speak at CPAC. Note when he says again that “the GOP must stop being the stupid party,” the cons in the crowd will stare at one another with that uncompromising no, he’s talking about you look.

“the GOP must stop being the stupid party,”

Maybe they’re not so stupid. At least The Republican Party pretty much knows what their left and right hand is doing. With this immigration fiasco, it appears as if the Obama Administration can’t find their A double scribble with both hands.

Let’s see: (1) Christie was a flop as a speaker in the RNC in August 2012 (too bad it was not a belly flop) & (2) He spurned Romney while Mittie boy was on a campaign stump in the state; Christie decided to appear with Obama.

Good for the cons not inviting him. Romney could not carry his homestates of MA & MI; Christie will not be able to carry his dump of a state either as presidential candidate.

A double scribble? You mean ASS? Really? What are you, like 6? Are you afraid you’ll be sent to H-E double hockey sticks if you write the word ass?

So is Bob Woodward now the new straw the right wing talk shows and FOXBOTS are grasping at?

Just damn. Bob Woodward sounds like Newt Gingrich pouting after Clinton didn’t let him sit close enough to the front of the plane………

No Rush and Sean and FOX and their sock puppets like you have already convinced the world. Kerry is probably trying to show the world that only a small angry bitter but vocal group of ass clowns are like y’all.

Cons could always send Paul Broun, for example, as their emissary to Germany in order to demonstrate to them that the GOP is not the stupid party. Lectures from him on evolution, embryology and the Big Bang theory should do the trick. Oh, what the heck. Throw in his thoughts on the age of the earth and global warming for good measure.
