Are you contractually required to continue working this job?

I took an Oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. Sounds contractual to me. Given the amount it takes to train someone in my position, I’m ensuring the taxpayers get their money’s worth by my continued employment.

If you do not like the circumstances of your job then you can go and find a job that better fits and pays what your skill sets require.

Who said anything about not liking my job? I don’t defend your talking points for you.

I can guarantee you that there are at least 10 people out there in the real world with you exact same skill sets that would love to have your job.

I really try to be respectful for people in the military or law enforcement because they do have a important job but lets face the facts most of them do the job because it is the only way they can feel power and they really have a some of the biggest egos around and most do not have the necessary skill sets to do anything else. Please do not tell me I do not know what I am talking about because I have a brother that is in law enforcement and a brother in law that served in Iraq and is not in law enforcement.

As far as putting myself in harms way and being afraid of taking a bullet. I worked for DFCS in Fulton county for 2 years right out of college, going into the worst housing projects in Atlanta (ever hear of Perry Homes and Capitol hill) taking abused and deprived children out of homes during the crack epidemic in Atlanta without a gun while being a white male. Would you have the guts to take on that job?

As for ego and skillset, I spent years in retail and fast food. I graduated with honors in Mathematics. I have the skill set to do whatever I choose to do. I’ve managed successful stores before, but there’s no reward like knowing I help keep my country safe.

As to your DFAC’s job, I grew up with family in the projects, and I grew up in the hood. I would have no problem at all doing that job. Seems like you did as you only did it for 2 years. Now, Do you have the testicular fortitude to put your hide on the line and do my job? You still haven’t answered.

i was about 20 rows up, on that side of the field and sitting on the 25 yard line – EXACTLY where that play happened. It was almost surreal; one moment Turner is running down the field, for an apparent TD, and the next there was this body flying through the air! Talk about getting undressed!

Later, when I got back to Atlanta and saw the replay, all I could do was look on in amazement again and knew that this would go down as one of the great pancake blocks in Husker history.

I think I proved that I was man enough. As far as doing your job then if I chose to do that job then I would have no problem with it. I have a wife that is a government worker and she will tell you the exact same thing I am telling you about MOST government workers. Hell I worked for the government for a short period so I know all about MOST of them.

Worked there for two years as a first job out of college to get work experience to get a higher paying job in the private sector to better fit my skill sets. BTW: Why in the h3ll should I want to have go back to starting wages to do a job when my skill sets have determined a much higher set of wages?

Yeah, tell me about it. I bet your wife is the only one that works hard in her office just as you were the only one working hard in your office. Give me an effin’ break. MOST government workers do their jobs as they’re required to do. People like you try to paint MOST government workers as ineffective when it’s your “friends” who legislate the rules are the ones f**king things up.

MOST people I know in law enforcement will give you the shirt off their back. It ain’t about egos, but you damn well need one when your job requires you to clock in with the knowledge that you might not clock out.

What you see as “ego” is called officer presence. Ask Scout about that. A weak and timid officer is about as useful as a gold plated soccer helmet in a FIFA tournament. Confidence begats authority, and you have to exude authority if you expect to be in law enforcement. I dare you, no, I triple dog dare you to go to some Spec Ops or SWAT people and tell them that ego crap. I would pay big money to watch them punch your ego out and feed it back to you in small pieces.
