News flash! Newt opposes billionaires buying elections!

Writing in Human Events, Newt Gingrich condemns a plan by Karl Rove to raise a lot of money from billionaires and intervene in GOP primaries on behalf of more mainstream, supposedly more electable candidates:

“I am unalterably opposed to a bunch of billionaires financing a boss to pick candidates in 50 states. This is the opposite of the Republican tradition of freedom and grassroots small-town conservatism.

No one person is smart enough nor do they have the moral right to buy nominations across the country.

That is the system of Tammany Hall and the Chicago machine. It should be repugnant to every conservative and every Republican.”

Newt, have you met this man?

SHeldon-Adelson

His name is Sheldon Adelson. I would have thought that you two knew each other, but apparently not. (Look again … is it the sunglasses throwing you off?)

However, as a man who is “unalterably opposed” to the notion of billionaires buying elections, you should know that Adelson — a casino owner with an estimated net worth of more than $20 billion — gave you and your associated SuperPACS some $30 million in an effort to buy you, Newt Gingrich, the 2012 GOP nomination.

And after you imploded — who saw that one coming, right? — Adelson reportedly went on to give an additional $100 million to other SuperPACs, including up to $40 million to those run by Rove.

Knowing how you feel about such things, I’m sure you’re deeply embarrassed that you let such a thing happen. Say hi to Callista!

Your friend,

– Jay Bookman

Problem with Biden’s BS is, what makes him think during a home invasion his wife, or even him and his wife, could make it out to the deck before the intruders get them? Secret service aside, of course.

Wow are you nuts bro? How are these folks home invading? By Star Trek Transporter?

I’ll admit Biden’s comment was a bit kookie, does he make many that aren’t, but yours was just butt stupid. You are sitting there with your wife and then all of a sudden 5 home invaders magically appear in your living room?

Just damn, you even THINK for a second about the crap you post before you hit send? I would not only opine that you don’t but would also suggest that you DO. Us thinkers aren’t FOXBOTS bro. I keep telling you that………

A comment on Obama becoming a millionaire.

It is very apparent he enjoys being one while hell bent to prevent others from becoming one.

When he talks taxing the rich folks, he really means taxing people with high income. High income does not always mean rich.

There are two kinds of rich people: those with millions of assests, you know the ones taxed at 15% of which he has done nothing, and those who have high income who are dependent on that income to be rich – if their income goes down they are not rich anymore; they don’t have the millions in assests.

Obama is taxing more the people who are not truly millionaires. The bluecollars who have worked their way to high income. His Wall Street and Hollywood friends have not been touched as to paying more taxes.
++++++++++++++++++++++++

I know that sounded good to you when Rush said it or you saw it on FOX , but to me that was……. nonsense. Could you break that down from emotionalism and fright talk to actual logic and facts so stupid people like me could understand?

Fred, as usual you can’t keep comments in context and project scenarios applicable to the discussion.

Biden telling his wife to run out on the deck and fire the shotgun so that invaders will go away is stupid, ridiculous, and unworthy of the second in line of command. If you can’t see that, I’m sorry for you.

There’s not an agency out there (some much more than others) that couldn’t substantially reduced their numbers …………. all that would be required is for the one’s still left to actually WORK their 8 hours a day !!!

Add to that the tremendous waste, fraud and abuse in many agencies and ………….. well, you get the picture.

People of means can and do install perimeter alarms. If they’re living in the countryside, I’m willing to bet they have the best security system to cover their entire property and not just the home. There are instances where one can hear an attempted break in and respond before the person makes it completely inside the home. I’m sure you remember the old advice about dragging the body across the threshold before the police arrive, right?

Either way, you come through just as I would expect you to. Some of y’all act so afraid or angry at the left that I imagine y’all walking around with two right shoes on simply to avoid anything left. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if y’all were afraid to make left turns while driving.

OK, Fred, this is just for you.

True millionaires have assests that produce capital gains. That’s money paid to them for their investment. They are taxed at 15%. Obama has done nothing to address this group on paying more taxes. His Wall Street and Hollywood buddies are in this group.

Income dependent rich do not have large investments that produce capital gains payments to them. Instead, they have high income, perhaps putting them in the 1%. If their income goes down, they unlike the capital gains rich, move from rich to middle class or lower. Obama just raised their tax rates to almost 40%.

Now, if you can’t understand that, enroll in economics 99 or whatever they call it now.

Don’t be ridiculous on the guns. Just because people own firearms does not mean they are overly paranoid. And just to ensure you did not miss it, I agreed with you on concern of home defense with a pistol or riffle. That’s why we have the short barrel shotgun.

We have what I think is a very good home alarm system, but not perimeter alarm. I may check into that, although living in what is almost the woods casues me concern of animals setting it off. It’s like our home alarm – no motion sensors due to the cats.

td, you proved my point. Thanks. Don’t forget the new Fox conspiracy:

Fox News warned on Wednesday that Al Jazeera is set to “infiltrate” the United States amid dire warnings about “sleeper cells” in the Muslim suburbs of Detroit.

Host Megan Kelly began a segment about Al Jazeera’s expansion into the American television market by raising questions about the network’s “real anti-American bias.” Contributor Lisa Daftari agreed, veering into blatant Islamophobic fear-mongering in the process:

DAFTARI: The point is they want to differentiate themselves from their sister network, but at the same time, it’s the same thing. They’re having the same type of coverage. They’re apparently expanding to eight cities, including Detroit, Michigan. Detroit, Michigan is a large ex-pat community of Muslim-Americans and sleeper cells have been detected. You can Google this, you can find out all this information. So if you’re trying to set yourself apart the Qatari petro-dollars are backing this, you’re still developing in this area where the sleeper cells have been detected. They’re going to have do do much more to prove to me that they’re different from their sister network.

By the way, who is the 2d largest shareholder of Fox after Murdoch?

I know a few people who worked as security for Morris Dees and his family. One of the stories I remember is that, there was an alarm at their home while his wife and kids were there while he wasn’t. My friend who was there that night said that she beat them to the door, and she was armed with a shotgun. They had to talk her down and allow them to do the job they were hired to do.

I doubt that the Secret Service would let Dr. Biden deal with any alarms, but one has to remember that she’s only had that protection for around 5 years now. There is nothing more dangerous than a mother protecting her kids.

In a related report, the council spent quite a bit of time to be ensured minority contractors would get the new stadium work. When will that sorta thinking stop? The lowest price for the best work should get the bid, regardless of skin color.

No, generally when someone wants to deflect from the topic at hand, they generally have an idea of the problem AND a possible solution. I asked you that question to see if you were serious about discussing the voting issue or if you were simply flinging feces just for sh*ts and giggles. Based on your response, it appears that you’re almost out of sh*ts and giggles.

Obviously, you are very new around here. I have consistently provided proof for actual voter fraud whenever the discussion has came up. You may want to calm down a bit as one of my areas of interest is voter laws and how they affect people. I’ve probably done more research in this area than you have, but if you want to get beyond fingerpointing and sh*t throwing, I’m more than willing to have an intellectual discussion with you.

Once again I’ll ask, how can this particular case of voter fraud been stopped by the ID laws being pushed? Seems as the conservative/right/GOP logic dictates that Voter ID laws stop fraud. If you’re concerned about fraud, how do you stop something like this from being done by an insider?

As to voter fraud, here’s a site for you to read up on and enlighten yourself. I’ve provided this link here more times than I can count and/or remember.

If you live on the 34th floor of a downtown building, how does Biden’s advice work for you? Do you still go outside and blast away? Can you tell the cops it’s not an unlawful discharge of a firearm because it’s what the Vice President told you to do?

Lead shot will break any glass it hits it also chips car paint pretty bad.

But guess if its not your car……..

And how far does lead shot from a shotgun blast travel when compared with the lead shot from an AR-15? Given that they are surrounded by woods, as Biden described, there shouldn’t be a neighbor’s car hit by lead shot from a shotgun blast, but then again, continue on and enlighten me on ballistics. I enjoy learning new stuff.

There is a ton of voter fraud going on…

I would suspect that for a highly informed person such as yourself that it would be child’s play and would only take you about two or three minutes to provide sources that document this ton of voter fraud.

But take your time; I’m very interested in this topic and would love to see your ton of verifiable evidence, regarding the ton of voter fraud…

I gave you a lot more credit of being smarter then to make such a nonsense statement as above. Voter fraud has been proven as happening on a wide spread basis for years (way before Obama was first elected).

Your statement is the same as believing the government numbers in saying there is no waste in Medicare or only 2% fraud in the Food Stamp program.

I don’t recall the recent spate of “stand your ground” laws having an exception for people living in apartments/buildings. If your life is threatened, are you not covered for defending yourself?

Did you feel the need to bring up an AR-15 for what dramatic effect.

I’m not an expert on ballistics have seen first hand what shot pellets can do to a car.

Still doesn’t change the fact only an idiot would condone shooting any firearm into the air.

I fully believe in gun safety and gun responsibility so to enlighten me would you show me any gun safety classes that recommend shooting any firearm into the air?

Looks like Florida would be a great place for all those 620,000 uninsured Georgians to go. Short drive, good weather, lots of beaches. See ya!!!

Nope. Your gun is empty. You’d only be out of ammo if you had nothing left to put in the gun.

Well, I kinda hoped Bookman wouldn’t take out after old Newt again. See, me and him are on personal terms. He sends me a e-mail about every two weeks. Something about something him and his wife are doing, I can’t figure it out.

The reason why I don’t ever answer is ., . . well, to tell the truth, I don’t want him around my wife. Matter of fact, I don’t want him around any other woman than his wife.

I don’t see why he keeps bugging me. Right now there’s this young fellow next door to Bookman—Kyle Wingnut or something like that—that come right out and endorsed Newt back when he was running for the nomination. Why don’t this young fellow offer his wife up to Newt and let Newt leave me alone?

Have a good night everybody.

Scrivener, it appears as though every extra vote that Ohio woman cast was through absentee balloting. So explain again how voter ID would help?

And this is the reason absentee ballots should be only for people that can prove they can not make it to the polls to vote. While we are discussing fraud. The states that have these same day registration and voting without photo id is nothing more then allowing fraud at a level that can not be proven.

BTW: If you have no voter id then I could find out that my neighbors are not registered and then register for them, show up at a poll and claim to be them and then vote under their name. How do you stop this?

For the record, I own a condo in PCB and was sent an absentee ballot there and then voted in Georgia. I could have voted twice and no one would have never known the difference.
