Blog annoucement alert … blog announcement alert

A couple of blogkeeping notes:

– Some of you may have seen the new look and functionality of other AJC blogs, such as Jim Galloway’s Political Insider blog. Sometime in the next few weeks, I’m told, my blog will migrate to the new system as well. (The change is being made to accommodate new software that works better on mobile platforms such as I-Pads, Kindles, etc.)

That means you’ll have a brand new URL to bookmark (all the previous blogs and comments will still be available in archives). It also means that — prepare yourselves — commenters will be required to register in order to post at the new blog. As you can see on Jim’s blog, that doesn’t mean that you have to post under your real identity, but you will have to register an identity to post. I’ll let you know more as I learn more.

– On Monday, Feb. 25, I’ll be delivering what has become my annual “Real State of the Union” speech, followed by Q&A, at Seven Stages Theater in Little Five Points. (Information here). It’s free, and starts at 7 p.m.

However, we usually have a full house, so if you’re interested in coming, you should get tickets ahead of time. The event is sponsored by Women’s Action for New Directions, or WAND, and will also feature the witticisms of my friend Andisheh Nouraee, co-author of “Americapedia: Taking the Dumb Out of Freedom.”

“Elected Officials Are Fundamentally Dishonest”

“To the Editor:

This letter was forwarded to Barack Obama, John Boehner, Chris Murphy, Dick Blumenthal, Elizabeth Esty, and Harry Reid

I live in Sandy Hook, CT. My family and close friends weren’t harmed on December 14. That day impacted 26 families with an indescribable, staggering pain and anguish. For most of Sandy Hook, it merely affected us with an inescapable intensity of sadness and grief.

Gun control has long been a focus of many in this country. Though I’m not knowledgeable of all the nuances of the Second Amendment, based on the Founding Fathers’ circumstances, it had far more to do with enabling the citizenry to protect themselves against tyrannical government than against local psychopaths. It is about providing a balanced firepower so when King George’s successor came knocking on your door, you could fight back. Government today is no less inclined to abuse its authority than it was then. Based on the absurd and ongoing power grab that is present day Washington, it’s as threatening as ever.

That so many of you view the NRA with its resistance to further restrictions on firearms as intransigent lunatics has far more to do with how you conduct yourselves in office than it does with the NRA’s actions.

You in public office are fundamentally dishonest people. You lead lives of deception at every turn, structuring your lives as comfortably as you can while governing with an indifference and arrogance that is absolutely maddening. When the country is reeling from financial disaster, you waste a trillion dollars on a health care bill we can’t afford and you’ve never read. You claim it’s critical because health care costs are killing this country… no they’re not, you are! You are killing this country. You endorse the ongoing slaughter of millions of unborn children and whine when terrorists are water boarded. You can’t lecture us right in Newtown High School about not doing enough to keep our children safe, while simultaneously slaughtering the unborn. You fabricate the intense, media laden drama of the fiscal cliff and lack the courage to do anything about truly reforming the obscene gluttony of government. You know you’ll be out of office before the bill comes due… you don’t care and have no integrity nor honor.

You lie whenever and wherever you need to to move forth your agenda. Were you able, you would purge the US of guns… every last gun in the country, if you could. So please forgive Wayne LaPierre and those of us who don’t trust you as far as we can spit. You’re a dishonest lot, motivated by a distorted worldview. If mass murder prevention were truly your goal, you would welcome armed security wherever needed. It is outrageous that we protect our money with far more firepower than we protect our children.

I have never owned a gun, nor wanted to as intensely as right now. You’ll stop restricting guns when only you have them.

Well, I don’t think Bookman sweats the small stuff like e-mail addresses and blog monikers. He spends his time looking over our shoulder as we type and reading our mind. SUBSCRIBERS and READERS are the backbone of The Atlanta Journal Constitutions !!!

I believe that the AJC is making a BIG, BIG mistake by going to this new format of signing in to blog.

Blogging should be as easy and painless as possible. This new system will cause a marked decrease in the number of people who blog on this newspaper.

We urge the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) to re-think this idea and make blogging on the paper as easy and simple as possible.

Bloggers and writers comments provide invaluable feedback to the newspaper.

OHIO lady votes six times, imagine that !!
Authorities also are investigating if she voted in the names of four other people, too, for a total of six votes in the 2012 presidential election.

“I’ll fight it for Mr. Obama and for Mr. Obama’s right to sit as president of the United States,” Richardson vowed when asked about the voter fraud investigation that is now under way.

Richardson is one of 19 people suspected of illegal voting by the Hamilton County Board of Elections in the last election.
[...]
“It appears she not only attempted to vote more than once, but was actually successful at it and having those additional votes counted,” Ohio Secretary of State John Husted, who is in charge of the state’s elections, told Fox News.

“She appears to have used her position as a poll worker to cover her tracks. That would be someone who is an official in the elections process, using that position to commit a fraud. That is especially troubling to me, as the chief elections officer of the state, because it is my responsibility to make sure the system runs effectively, that it has integrity. When I find issues like this, I know that it undermines voter confidence in our elections, and we must pursue it.”

Three other absentee ballots in the names of different people were submitted to the Board of Elections from Richardson’s address on Nov. 1. Officials say the handwriting on those ballots is similar and that they were all received together, on the same day that Richardson’s absentee ballot arrived at the office. Richardson maintains that some of the other voters live at her house.

Oh, yeah…I almost forget: and I couldn’t figure out who to contact to see if it can be corrected.

Neither could I. I asked Jay on page one of this thread but got no response.

Oh and just for general information, you can use ass clown on the new blogs but not assha…………. well if I type the T it won’t show up here…….. go figure. I popularized a phrase that for some reason the AJC hates. And here I think it’s cute.

Corbin: Go to any article or blog and look at the bottom of the AJC writers input. See where it says comment? Sign in or Register? Try that.

Granny Godzilla: Not only is registration universal across the AJC boards, they force you to merge accounts on boards they own or control. For instance. I joined Boortz’s board years ago (when I joined the AJC the first time), when I re-registered here, it forced me to merge accounts or close one.

I find it hard to believe Jay would want FNM to go away……

My fingers are crossed.

Corbin, a long form birth certificate will work but if you don’t have one or if your mother created one so you can get the benefits of US citizen, for a small fee of 17 installments of $19.99, I can help you get full registration rights and move to the front of the line. Yes, the front of the line….ahead of that Fred character. Why for an additional $29.99, I can even make you a AJC original native (suck on that, josef!).

But wait…there’s more…. I am willing to include your mom and anyone else in her basement (how do you think Fred got in in the first place). :D :P

Fred, that requires us to believe that you are capable of being quiet.

Itchy, you were banned for a couple of reasons.

One, you namejacked JHM, which is an automatic red card.

Two, you began carrying on a conversation with yourself with your two different alter egos, Itchy and Christian Conservative, which is also an automatic red card.

Does number 400 put you at the bottom of the last page or the top of the next page?
